I’m sorry-
The fact Charles had a sword the whole time and CHOSE his cricket bat is impeccable.

It's so insane that the interaction in episode one goes Charles bringing up how Death would separate them if she caught them and Edwin is the one to say he would never let them happen as if he doesn't passenger princess his way through every vaguely tense interaction or moment of conflict they get into

I know that after watching this scene we were all collectively struck by him having a sword in his bag and still choosing to fight with the bat. But can we talk about how precise he has to be with the bat that he can just swing it like that on that snake??? The snake attacked him from behind, he didn't see it since he wasn't facing it. He struck just by listening to its movements. AND not only did he land that hit successfully, the snake got fully slammed and swerved to the side. That hit was bonkers, and it definitely required a lot of physical strength as well. I know we all joke about how Charles is good at taking hits and how he does shit without thinking. I honestly disagree, I think he has good tactics, he's actually quite strategic when it comes to fighting against something or someone.

just want to say with respect to dead boy detectives being cancelled— that as devastating as it is, i absolutely plan on continuing to create and write for payneland and do what i can to keep our lovely, talented, vibrant fandom alive celebrating these characters, the relationships, and the beautiful work given to us by season 1 <3 charles and edwin have touched me deeply and continue to live in my heart. i'm not going anywhere! much love to everyone and hope you're taking care of yourselves after the news! <333

Supposedly the reason they changed Charles’s baseball bat into a cricket bat is because cricket is incredibly popular in India, but I also think it makes way more sense as something they’d be doing at a British boarding school
Baseball isn’t really popular in the uk, the closest thing we have a rounders which is considered a little kids game, but cricket is one of those sports that posh people are into along with stuff like fencing and croquet
