Tons. Tons and tons and tons!!!! I blame my hand issues from the last year and a half for starting so many canvases that I couldn’t finish.

I have WIP Wednesday tomorrow for fics, so I suppose I’ll share one of my art WIPs ^^ (and its accompanying concept cause it’s been nagging at me a lot again lately haha)

KYUREM INGO

This is really a big Nothing concept that’s been nagging at me since last year — I’ve seen so many cool interpretations from the submas fandom about which unovan dragon matches which twin. Reshiram and Zekrom, Ingo and Emmet — but my favorite out of the trio is Kyurem!!! And I am very very biased towards Warden Ingo, so I sort of just connected the two of them together when I saw a lot of dragon/twin connection content.

Warden Ingo is an empty husk of who he once was ever since he was separated from his life, and from Emmet. Drayden’s legend of Kyurem implies Kyurem is the husk of what was left after Reshiram and Zekrom separated.

Hisui is not Ingo’s world; he does not belong there. Another legend from the games says that Kyurem is an alien to this world, having landed from the sky and come somewhere unknown.

Warden Ingo’s clothing is damaged, an extension of himself. Kyurem’s asymmetry with its shorter right side visualizes damage.

Ingo’s memories and who he was as a person leaked out of his mind, but he’s trying his best to regain them. Kyurem’s power is constantly leaking out of its body and it makes efforts to hold it in with ice.

ICE. this one is headcanon-y but I associate Warden Ingo with ice and the cold, probably because of the Pearl clan and its location in the Icelands.

Again, it’s a nothing concept. It’s not an AU because I wouldn’t know what to do with it and I’m not really inclined to. It’s just nothing — it’s a concept in my mind that just floats there because I heavily associate the two with each other as parallels and think about it a lot. And it’s something I have fun drawing just for fun. I even have much rougher WIPs of different designs just mashing Kyurem and Warden Ingo together for fun too, I just felt this one was the most presentable haha.

TLDR: So many WIPs. SO MANY WIPS!!! This concept alone has a ton of scribbles and thoughts that just aren’t really prevalent at all but maybe I’ll share more someday haha.

HoO is so funny to me when you actually think about the ages of all the characters. Octavian is 18. Percy and Annabeth are 16, almost 17. Reyna is presumably 16. Frank just turned 16, Jason’s about to turn 16. Leo and Piper are like 15. Hazel’s like 14 and a half, and Nico is 13.

The Death Sibs are both the youngest and oldest on the Argo II. Octavian is a college freshman getting into petty drama with a bunch of high schoolers. He gets told to shut up at one point by a random 8th grader. Everyone is scared of the 8th grader. We Sent A 13 Year Old To Superhell and he came back weirder, Just Like Middle School. TLH was just three high school sophomores being sent to do a task and it going Exactly Like You’d Expect. Percy’s the only demigod on the ship who can legally drive (though Reyna gets her drivers license at some point before TOA). What Is Happening.

It's just-

Yasuke is SOOOOOOOOOO important to the overall plot and the themes of the series, to the point that he leaves behind a massive plothole in Different Mastermind AUs. It's just disheartening to see that people either don't know about him or significantly downplay his involvement.

His relationship with Junko, the core of Danganronpa, is so fucking amazing. The fact that he was one of the most important people to her, to the point that the only thing she's able to remember is how much she loves him, is such a refreshing take on her character when shes constantly portrayed as the evil force. That, even when she is the villain of dr0, we learn that she is capable of loving something other than despair.

His the only other peice we get of Junko's backstory that isn't from Mukuro (which has to be taken with a grain of salt since shes not telling full truths and was also in Fenrir for a good chunk). The sandcastle story gives us a look at a Junko who does something for the sake of another person, without planning on using them. He's probably the only character who's seen Junko grow up, who knows every step of her life. (Never specified when the met, just that he knew her when she went into elementary school (so prolly around 6yo). But Junko also lies that she was responsible for Matsuda's mom condition, and considering he is unsure to believe her implies that there is some plausibility, so who knows how long that was.)

ANYWAY

The fact that he is so ingrained into the two games is so UGH. Yasuke's the reason class 78 cant remember their past. Why Kyoko doesn't remember her talent. The foundation of the game is reliant on HIS research. And even the NWP, something he helped create, is how the second game is able to play out. (And possibly how Junko knew about it since she made AI Junko to be placed into it.) It's so important to the game that even drv3 had to incorporate it somehow into its games.

Just the amount of love she has for this fucker DRIVES ME CRAZY. To include parts of his life's research into her games, to use the same knife she killed him with to frame her biggest obstacles for her sister's death, to have fragments of your last days with him seeping out of your AI self (the notebook, and the two white noises during 2-6)??? UGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH.

The fact, the fucking FACT, that he was the closest person to actually saving her?? Yasuke! Not Makoto, or hajime, or even her fucking twin. Mr."Shut the fuck up, old man".

But its also the point of no return for Junko. The minute Ryoko "died", all her goodness died. Yasuke could've easily agreed to Ryoko's pleas to forget about everything and go back to his lab. But he didn't. And that's where things were set.

He did so much for Junko, because he loved her.

The largest training room was little more than a barn with a dirt floor, its walls covered in every weapon imaginable.

I set the atlas on the long table and crossed to the ancient map of Ravka that ran the length of the far wall. Of all the maps in the war room, this one was by far the oldest and most beautiful. I trailed my fingers over the raised ridges of the Sikurzoi, the mountains that marked Ravka’s southernmost border with the Shu, then followed them down into the western foothills. The valley of Dva Stolba was too small to be marked on this map.

Do you guys remember that one episode of Steven Universe where Steven got banned from Fish Stew Pizza and the Crystal Gems got all dressed up for a volleyball game? Well I was watching that episode and felt it IMPERATIVE to somehow incorporate it into my Steven Universe inspired Transformers AU, mostly because Optimus in beach wear would be amazing.

So I figured I’d draw an outfit that was PLAUSIBLE for a huge robot to wear. And then I realized I had to design a new Optimus for my AU which I had put off because designing Transformers is HARD. And then I had to find a design that looked good on him.

But I DID IT

I TRACED THE DESIGN FOR THE FLOWERS ON THE CLOTHES CAUSE I WAS TIRED DONT JUDGE ME. You can kinda tell I got lazier as I went on lol. But anyway i guess I just killed two birds with one stone: Designing my AU Optimus and drawing Optimus in beach clothes

A not so small ramble about Heartbreaker because the story is near its end and I've started writing the epilogue, which will tie all loose ends (spoilers for part 32 ahead!)

The whole thing about Heartbreaker is that everyone makes a lot of mistakes mainly because they are all so young when everything happens, but that doesn't make them terrible people - they just didn't know any better.

Dave unconsciously tries to alienate Nore from her friends because she's the only one he has left and he loves her, even though she begs him not to make her choose. He's also so deeply insecure that he becomes jealous and immediately believes Pat when she says Nore is cheating on him with James because well why wouldn't she, when he feels so much like a burden to her?

James tries to earn Nore's affection at all costs because he's in love with her, but he never considers Dave's feelings, his former best friend, who he already had hurt by kicking him off the band and cutting ties. He knows Nore likes him too, he can feel it, but he can't bring himself to just talk to her directly about it all - instead he pressures her, he begs her, please, please leave him, please love me instead. But when she gets hurt and confused because she loves them both, he starts dating her friend in an attempt to get over her, but that only hurts Nore more.

Nore doesn't want to hurt anyone. She just wants to be happy, she just wants her friends - her chosen family - to get along because the happier she had ever been was when everyone was together still. So she avoids telling Dave about her blossoming feelings for James, because she knows it will upset him. She avoids telling Dave so many important things, she avoids rejecting James fully too because she knows it will hurt him and she loves them both, she doesn't wanna hurt him, she doesn't wanna lose him. Then it all blows up in her face because you can't keep avoiding these kind of things forever - they take root, and they grow, and they become bigger the more you ignore them.

I also think Pat fits in this, although she was really mean about it lol James was her dream rockstar boyfriend, and when she realized she wasn't the one he really liked, she felt threatened and tried to sabotage his friendship with Nore instead of confronting him about it or just walking away.

I think the whole point in this is that James, Nore and Dave all tried to do what was easier, instead of what was right. Because none of them were mature enough to make the hard choices. None of them were mature enough to realize they were hurting themselves and hurting the people around them until it was too late.

But I said there would be a happy ending, and there will be! The story will be "finished" in part 35, but that won't really be the end. The epilogue will be set 7 years later, in 1991 - and we will see then the outcome of all of their choices and love and heartbreak. Pinky promise <3

I'm intrigued by your idea that Helaena and Aemond are somewhat genre-aware and have some knowledge of the canon, non-divergent timeline. I've been trying to comb through the fic for the instances of this but feel like I'm probably missing some. Can you please list them out?

Haha sure! This was a fun lil scavenger hunt for me because I knew I wrote this down somewhere but simply could not find it. Anyways, here's a list of the different references I made to the canon timeline, in chronological order. I managed to fit in a decent number of people, but obviously a bunch have been left out since the Dance had SO many deaths. You'll notice right away that Helaena's glimpses are all very obvious, while most of Aemond's were disguised partially or completely by their context and because he misinterprets them every single time.

(Chapter 6) Aemond foresees Joffrey's canon death: When telling Joffrey it's dangerous to ride a claimed dragon, he notes that "the dull thread of alarm wound through his belly, a flash of a broken body against the ground, rendered his tone a little more sharp than he’d intended." He's not clear on whose body it is, and since Joffrey was suggesting Aemond ride Tyraxes maybe you'd assume it was Aemond's, but nope!

(Chapter 8) Aemond foresees Rhaenyra's canon death: When thinking of her with a dragon, he feels "uneasiness, a flash of dragon's jaws and a sense of overwhelming wrongness". He dismisses it as irrational, particularly because the dragon in question was Syrax and it's not super explicit, but again we know better.

(Chapter 8) Aemond foresees Jace's canon death: "He could see it in his mind already, blood gushing from punctures littering the boy's torso." He thinks it's an intrusive thought related to him needing to fight and potentially stab Jace, but nope! Arrow wounds.

(Chapter 15) Helaena mentions Blood and Cheese: “I chose him,” she says of Maelor. “Only I didn’t, so he doesn’t know. But I do.” See how this is like super explicit compared to Aemond's portion, even though it's Aegon's POV? It's because Helaena knows what's up.

(Chapter 16) Helaena foresees the canon deaths of Lucerys, Jaehaerys, Aemond, and herself: "Rhaenyra’s boy fell to meet the sea in pieces, his dragon tumbling alongside him. Darling Jaehaerys’s body fell in one direction while his head rolled in the other and her vocal chords screamed themselves raw. Her dearest Aemond fell backwards, his beautiful eye glazed over in death, the other pierced through by a blade. Helaena herself, eyes closed against the image of her brother’s impaled face, fell happily to her death, that she might meet her boys once more." Again, like super explicit.

(Chapter 19) Aemond foresees Aegon's canon death: "Images played out within his mind of poison slipped within a glass, of his brother’s hand, limp in death against the arms of his seat." He associates this with Aegon's suicide attempt, but we know it's referencing canon. (Also, he doesn't even question how he knows it must have been poison.)

(Chapter 19) Aemond foresees Jaehaera's canon death: When he sees the spikes in the dry moat surrounding Maegor's Holdfast, he thinks of how "he'd been terrified that little Jaehaera would somehow manage to tumble out of the window and fall to her death upon the spikes below. He says this was an irrational fear, but we know better. This also proves that he's had these dreams for years.

(Chapter 20) Helaena foresees Jaehaerys's canon death again: When she's smelling Jaehaerys's hair, she thinks that "in another life she’d clutched his head to her weeping body and his beautiful hair had smelled of nothing but blood." So again, a very explicit reference to Blood and Cheese.

It's not that I don't enjoy it, but that I think the audience being in Dennis' head too much is... a little dangerous. Sometimes I write stuff from Dennis' POV and then re-write it from Mac's (the beginning of Chapter 9, for example, was originally Dennis' POV).

So, it's unfortunately more of a narrative decision on my side to keep out of there. There's is always potential to go back, it's just trickier for me (and more spoiler-y for you) to give Dennis' perspective on things. How do you build angst if the reader is aware of both sides! I have yet to figure that one out, but the night is still young.

I have come to say chapter 17 was everything it was too good. Like I love my babies so much. Then bonding and that kiss had me spiraling. The only thing, I’m son nervous for what’s to come because there are three chapters left and there probably be more drama and angst. I’m preparing myself to cry.

Anyways I love love love your writing and am so excited for chapter 18. Is it coming out anytime soon??

Also final thing to say, you excited for part 2? Any theories or predictions? I’m so excited I genuinely can’t wait!!

there are only a couple more chapters left and they are probably going to be some of the longest chapters of the fic. there's a lot I want to cover before we wrap this up. and I'm not going to tell you there won't be angst. :)

as for chapter 18.... well, all I'll say is that it literally ripped my psyche to shreds, but .... it's almost there. I need to go back and forth about a few things and then have my beta reader look at it but it shouldn't be too long now.

and I am SO EXCITED for part 2!!!!! worried nervous filled with doubt and thrilled as well!!! my opinion of part 1 is INCREDIBLY high. i think the one thing I'll say is that I left part 1 feeling like the pates really understood what I loved about the characters and the show, and as long as I can confidently say that about part 2, then I'll be thrilled. I'm not super good at making predictions, mostly cause the pates throw shit at me that I could never expect, but I'm thinking we'll see a non-zero amount of jiara and cleope angst and I'll be eating it up.

Sometimes i really wish there were more agere posts about littles who are like, 9-15 years old. :(

it only ever seems to all be things 0-6 years old, mostly focused on pre-school to MAYBE first grade age.

I think itd be nice to have more posts that focus on later school years, and about social/cognitive norms for those ages too.

I'm going over my notes for Charmed and I have a little running outline so I can remember what happens in each chapter as a reminder. They used to be in full sentences but it's devolved into one or two words... These two get me every time.
