CHANUKAH IN JERUSALEM🕎

Although Chanukah (Hanukkah) has already happened in 2020 (VERY recently) - I still would like to have a moment to recognize & honor the good faith of the Jewish families who are still going strong in 2020! This video was from a good amount of years ago, so please pardon the lack of COVID-relevance in this... it’s nice to see people have faith to lift our spirits up.

I have always had a deep appreciation & respect for Jewish Faith since I was a child. When my Grandmother (on my father’s side) discovered that the European side of the family had once been Jewish (prior to American citizenship) - it enriched my growing understanding of the possibilities of one’s Family Tree & Heritage. My background is a complex variety pack of multiple faiths & opposing walks-of-life - So, I never had the option to be a racist, or have a narrow-minded outlook on diversity (Thank Goodness).

In hopes to spread good cheer in 2020 (we deserve it), I think it would be very important to honor Jewish Faith by sharing the Good Vibes of said Jewish Faith & People.

"Chanukah Bear" (2013) by beloved author Eric Kimmel, is an updated version of Kimmel's 1990 classic, "The Chanukah Guest", with beautiful new illustrations by Mike Wohnoutka. At this time of year we're always inundated with beautiful Christmas books. And while I enjoy them very much, they tend to make me realize how little many people know about the holiday that I and other Jewish people celebrate at this time of year - Chanukah. Far from simply being "the Jewish equivalent of Christmas", Chanukah is an incredibly beautiful, historically meaningful holiday with its own rich traditions. In the next few weeks I'd like to share some of the many wonderful books about MY holiday that I've enjoyed over the years. Let's start simply, though.
