MLP FiM is now 14 years old today. Happy birthday ponies!

Gosh, I'm going to get so sentimental here for a second, but genuinely... 14 years!!!

I remember when season one was airing on The Hub network, just a couple of tv channels down from NickToons and Disney XD. My brother and I were waiting for the Avatar: the Last Airbender reruns to return on NickToons, as there was an ad break, and we happened to stumble across The Hub playing the first episode of MLP:FiM. We happened to catch onto it as Nightmare Moon took over Ponyville and was laughing maniacally at Princess Celestia's disappearance.

Now, I immediately recognized MLP. I grew up with it! (Specifically the generation 1 movies. Honeysuckle the flutter pony is STILL my favorite! I always hated that one baby character though. Twilight's wishing ability was super fun; she came in clutch in the movie when the gals were crossing the bridge. Fond memories!!)

My brother, on the other hand, had been too young when I was collecting the old gen 1 dolls, so this was his first experience with it. He ended up falling in love with the show, whereas I was in my rebellious "ugh I'm too old to be watching the pony show; I outgrew that already!" phase.

Oh boy was I so wrong.

My brother and I always had to watch the same things together, and so when I tried to flip the channel back to Avatar, he complained and whined and we ended up going back to FiM. I can't remember if I got hooked then and there, or if it took a couple of tries on my brother's part, but we ended up both falling utterly in love with the show and its characters. When Princess Cadance was captured in the Season 2 premiere, we were the two who memorized EVERY. LYRIC. of "This Day" and would often reference the show in between our shared "Warriors" cats obsession.

I got into the RPC with Twilight around the ending of Season 3, and the hiatus between it and Season 4. Back when the Twilicorn discourse was still at its height. And I remember thinking to myself that everyone already loves Princess Luna, and Rainbow Dash is also exceptionally popular...

Ironically, the only pony not represented was the main character herself! And I'd always loved Twilight. She's purple, she reminded me of g2 Kimono, we both love books and making lists and being organized, with a fair bit of ambition to boot. After that, and especially with how underrepresented she was at the time, it was a no-brainer of who I'd choose to focus my love and attention onto. I don't regret it!

Anyways, that's my personal "getting into MLP:FiM" story. Been there since the beginning! It forever holds a special place in my heart.

Delulu Loony joins 2 year old scrap session where he never stops losing

Hey everyone, this isn't how I imagined my first official proper post is going to be. But because of how... ludicrous it has been for the constant vibe checking that would've been done about half a year ago, of course I have to make a couple posts bringing awareness of this to YouTube and a couple other Socials I have reach in. Because of how innately insufferable it has been, I'm making a one stop shop post for said socials explaining everything on a "need to know" basis.

What I'm talking about is the one-sided schizo self implosion sessions of Fallout: Ashfall and the loonies that tainted it. Some time in the past, there was an upcoming Fallout: New Vegas Mod dubbed as Fallout: Ashfall. Fallout: Ashfall was a DLC-sized quest that took place in Fallout's Hawaii, and you could explore, fight, and uncover a lot of the stories found in the Fallout World's Hawaii. Not super unique, but the idea of exploring a post Nuclear Hawaii- a US State that is isolated into a handful of islands was enough to spark excitement to some fans interested in this concept. So what ended up happening?

In the interest of time there was a discourse in the Fallout: Ashfall Team. One member (ironically) got kicked for inactivity, while a handful of others were kicked for reasons ranging from insubordination to being outted as Neo-Nazis. With those two things in mind, the rest of the events devolved into what essentially turned into a year and a half long hate campaign accusing certain devs of being bi-sexual trans, groomers, etc. and whatever else anti-woke cringe you want to insert here that you've heard of before to explain how something turned "woke." (in this case, Fallout: Ashfall)

(This is also not mentioning the total "takeover" of the mod project and team re-management crippling themselves to the point where all they really have going is clout chasing and attention seeking... but that's another time.)

The discourse did come to an end though, as a lot of the accusations, hit pieces and the sorts were debunked, ratio'd, and exposed for what they really were and have zero standing ovation for a fight they never had any chance of winning in the first place and everything else was fine and dandy. So it would seem.

Recently a few days ago, there are two YouTube Channels circulating, and they intend to try and once again to sway the people to get on their side of a sinking ship to start this long winded one-sided session, proving themselves once again, that they are innately asinine.

The two channels are as followed:

The first one that'll be refered to and noted is the YouTube Channel "@FalloutAshfallWokeness" or "Fallout: Ashfal is Woke!" As of the writing and posting of this story, there is only one video they uploaded and it is not even their own video.

The video in question is a redistribution of a hitpiece by an individual where using every single insult is not only lightwork but an understatement... of the eon. To put it simply, the creator of the redistributed video was one of the main figureheads for the hate campaign and the main reason why the Ashfall discourse went on for as long as it did. He currently abandoned the internet never to return again after various upon various attempts to win the hate campaign, or at the very least bring interest to it. Fortunately, this isn't about him.

What this is about is the owner of the Channel, Allout Monte.

Allout Monte was another figurehead of the hate campaign, and in a bitter morbid sense of comedy he joined the hate campaign because the former lead dev had booted him from the project.

For inactivity.

Allout Monte went on a baseless hate campaign accusing his employer of being a bisexual trans.

Because he was kicked.

Anyways, Allout Monte was one of the writers for the project, and supposedly the best. Had he not been exposed for using generative AI. Allout Monte had a second channel that was dubbed "How to Exist Pranks & Tutorials" who had "written" various baseless slop pieces with generative AI. After he was exposed for it, the channels were purged and appeared as if that was that. Unfortunately, he doesn't see it that way. He went on to make several other channels such as Sneedclave Anonymous, and the channel above, @FalloutAshfallWokeness.

The channel exhibits the same behavior by uploading AI Generated images and frequent misspellings akin. But good luck trying to criticize or call him out for that as Allout Monte has tendancies of poorly managed anger management and can & will purge, hide, and/or block comments that see the bluff. Apart from that, this is everything you need to know about the first channel to beware.

The second, (& thankfully last,) Channel in question is the @FalloutAshfallMod or simply The "Fallout: Ashfall" Channel. Individuals are to be wary of this channel as this is an impersonation channel meant to slander a former lead dev. Their only upload in question contains a unprofessionally flawed trailer promoting Fallout: Ashfall as promotional content which, at the time, was ill advised since they were in a state where promotionals were the last thing to worry about. This channel is also believed to be owned by Allout Monte as well unless their activity proves otherwise.

(Given that the entire comments section has been purged, better off assuming that this is Allout Monte)

Apart from that, this is everything you need to know for today in terms of false channels and impersonators coming in with the intentions to do harm within the community. I originally wanted to save this discussion for another time, but because these people can't learn how to take Ls, the least I can do is bring awareness and freshen up on the writing for today. Other than that, I wanted to thank you for taking the time to read this, I know it was both not much and also is- while not being a "good" way to debut as a channel in Tumblr. As I've said before, this wasn't how I imagined my time here on Tumblr would formally start, but if it's to help bring awareness for a community I want to stay in, that's definitely fine by me.

I swear though, my next couple of posts will probably be a little more on the happy side, once I toured Tumblr long enough to figure out the do's and don't's on here. But, yea, that was about it.

yo about the shipping channels stuff—i find that anytime you create a separate channel to try and ward off discourse, it just creates more. like way more drama. i think it would be easier and less time consuming on your part to keep one discord channel, make sure your rules specifically state no ship discourse, and encourage ship threads to help keep the peace

I don't want to force people to have to interact with the ship they don't like though. I think maybe I'd just need to create strict rules for the shipping channels, which like, ideally, everyone would be able to share their opinions, but I know some bashing/disrespectful behavior might come from that, and I'd like the channels to have a more positive focus. So idk maybe the shipping channels should just have stricter rules for the type of discourse that's allowed. Anyone who breaks them will just get booted.

I think the only obvious fact about sns is their apparent love for each other. Im a little confused on their possible homosexuality, but its not as obvious as you say it is. You need to look twice to catch them. I wish you would elaborate on where it is so obvious.

You are misstating me a lot. I have always maintained that their sexuality is subtly shown, subtle as compared to the usual shounen tropes. But shown nonetheless. It has been obvious to me because I am quite exposed to LGBTQ+ cinema, I talk about these films often on this blog. So the usual tropes used in gay coming of age drama and love stories are obvious to me. I have never said that it is obvious to everyone. I am always talking about subtleties and layering. I don't know what content of mine you have been reading. Lol.

Look man, even if you weren't exposed to these themes, the story itself is written pretty intuitively and it certainly is written to encourage curiosity in the average audience. Sure, not everything is made crystal clear to the audience deliberately, but it's crazy how blatantly layered it is visually and narratively. Even during my first watch, i would get puzzled or hooked a lot of times and curiosity made me mad. While i could surely recognise the tropes, that it was shounen had sent me for a toss, it was certainly not easy to digest. But then I remembered watching Cardcaptor Sakura and I felt better lol. It was quite a strange experience to see a gay love story in what's practically a kids show meant for boys. I know how genres work. But I waited until the end to go looking for fan discourses, I wanted a watching experience unperturbed by extraneous things. Most of all, Kishi's storytelling hooked me, he is a hell of a writer honestly. He really knows where to strike and what to use to strike with. That brutal brutal beautiful man. Only a truly intuitive, empathetic and sensitive person can write something like that. And talented af to boot.

Anyway, honestly, many sensitive readers or viewers could tell that there was something not quite right with the way the romance was superficially set up in the story. Naruto and Sakura, Sakura and Sasuke, Naruto and Hinata. It was a subliminal response. It takes some time to dismantle it in your head, but you get used to it with time. When reading the manga, I did struggle initially because it was a new medium for me, i settled down soon enough. It was very enjoyable. And it only reinforced everything I knew with the anime even more acutely.

One of my fav fellow Naruto fans, clocked it out at the age 13. A child. Simply curiosity and an advanced sense of comprehension. And a looooot of others could tell in their first watch. That they are gay has been the running narrative since the beginning of this manga, many fans have been making memes and jokes about it, SNS communities and channels have millions of subscribers the world over. And they are not analysis bloggers like me, lol. You really think it's that unclear?

Look I am not taking away from anyone if they cannot get it at first glance. Some can, some cannot. There are several factors. Depends on how sharp your comprehension is or how experienced you are, or how exposed you are to gay tropes and narrative devices. But the good thing is, one can always develop their senses, train them, discipline their eyes and ears and mind, to focus more and pay attention, ask questions. It's how you enjoy media in all its glory.

Naruto inspires so much in people, so many from the queer community relate to Sasuke and Naruto, so many closeted folks see themselves in Naruto and Sasuke, and are comforted by it, inspired even. Representation matters. So much empathy to go around. I am not even the first person to have started talking about it lol, how come you missed all the others? It has been the topic of hot debates for years all over the world man. They have been talking about how obvious it has been from almost the get go. You can't measure everyone with the same lenses. Not everyone would have the same skill sets.

The short of it is, lol, it's obvious if you know what you are looking at. It's a little confusing and you have to look twice if you don't know what you are looking at but are curious nonetheless so you invest and then find out that way. But if you are closed off and unreceptive, you probably won't have the benefit of this lovely story in all its radiance. Or any story.

That's two very different questions. If I had a YouTube channel of the size where I could post pretty much anything and know that it would get views, I could do a whole bit on "Cendrillon" adaptations and how I've been able to find the story relatable even though I'm wholly outside the usual discourse around the story, i.e. whether it's feminist/a good role model for girls or not. Of the major adaptations I have seen, Ever After is probably my favorite for its strangely meticulous approach to detail in setting the story in a particular time and place, something that many other versions (including Disney's) try to avoid. It's not exactly Perrault, but it works well for what it's trying to be.

As for an AU...I'm not very good at thinking of these things on the fly. I'd say just go full comedy with it: Dedue in the title role, Felix and Sylvain (and Ashe?) as the not-so-wicked stepsister equivalents, Ferdinand in drag as a flamboyant godmother who in his free time has astonishingly kinky sex with the local scheming villain, and Dimitri as the prince who must track down his love - or the shyest of them, at any rate - by finding someone to fit a ludicrously large boot. They're reunited, and then everyone joins in for an orgy. (Except Ferdibert, who are too offended that they didn't get starring roles.) The End.

This is something that I usually always keep to myself, because everyone has their own design tastes, but after the last disaster with Twiins and Critter I'm safer to say. Normally I agree with them criticisms of RWBY's designs, but god, them redesigns always end up being either the most borring and bland(in the case of Twiins)or the most crowded and unsightly things I've ever seen (in the case of Critter). Also that Ciel's redesign from Owl's looks so beautiful.

So this has been in my drafts for a bit while I gathered my thoughts together, since this especially came during the whole discourse around Twiins. We ain’t angry at her, this isn’t an attack on her style or work, this is purely my opinion and my reasonings for it. 

That said, even when I was a big fan of her videos and work, I always disliked her designs. Her sense of style never jived with my own, and that was perfectly fine because design is subjective, but given that she criticises Ein Lee’s work and then falls into some of the same pitfalls as her is a bit telling, especially since whenever she makes videos about character design, she keeps bringing up her work in character design.

Like, this is just me, but if I was putting out this product, I would not be advertising my credentials like that. 

But to start, I am completely ignoring any old redesigns and just focusing on the outfits she made in her latest video that’ll be linked here. I know I made redesigns even just last year that I absolutely despise now, so it’s unfair to bring up old outfits like a “haha look how trash these are”. That’s not what this post is gonna be about. 

Now, I’m gonna be going at this as redesigns to replace RWBY’s later outfits. Twiins didn’t specify if these are supposed to be redesigns of their Mistral outfits, their V2 outfits, or just some amalgamation, but from any angle, these designs have serious flaws.

But I have noticed that she has improved a lot in her art style from the beginning of her channel, and that’s a really inspiring thing to see. 

So let’s start with Ruby’s outfit.

Now, Twiins’ reasoning behind this is that she didn’t want to deviate that much from Ruby’s Beacon outfit, since there’s no point reinventing the wheel, and I do actually agree with the reasoning behind it. The reason Jaune consistently has good outfits is because they are wildly different from each other, and show a steady development in his character visually. 

Problem is, this is too similar. The red gloves is always a nice touch, but this is literally Ruby’s OG outfit with less details. The boots don’t have the red trim, the red chain thing connecting her cape is boring and makes it looks like a cheap superhero cape, the lack of silver bullets on her belt loses interest. 

Also why remove her corset? Her OG had the problem of the black corset blending into her black dress, so you could barely see it most of the time, but she also shows Ruby’s Manga outfit and the red on the corset completely rids the problem while having red on Ruby’s midsection. It was an interesting design choice, but to get rid of it makes this outfit too plain.

She is right that the all black look does make the red pop and more vibrant.

I can really just describe this outfit in one word: Unimaginative. 

Weiss Schnee

The same issue with Ruby is what we’re finding now with Weiss. This is bland. 

Obviously, Snowpea was the inspiration behind this outfit. I actually really like Snowpea, I think the structure of it would’ve been perfect for Weiss’ trip to Mistral compared to her canon outfit, but the biggest downfall of it was that it was too monochromatic. It was boring to look at even though technically it was the only time Weiss was mostly in her designated colour. 

I like the pop of red returning to her collar, I think it should stay a staple in Weiss’ design, but the white and black isn’t lifting this design. And this is a problem in Twiin’s approach to Weiss, Blake and especially Yang. 

These two not being primarily in their colour isn’t the issue, it’s the misuse of their colour that is. The problem with redesigns, and even shown in the Beacon arc, is that Weiss in mostly white resembles a pale blob. Her pale skin and white hair and white jacket and white dress and white boots, it’s all too much. Ein Lee’s concept of Weiss showed that Weiss using blue in her design is the right choice. 

I would pull back the blue gradient on the dress to let the white take more centre stage, but the jacket being a light blue works for this. It separates the white dress from the white jacket, the white decals and inner white sleeves brings white into this part while giving a frosted look, which is what our Snow White is meant to represent.

The issue with the later outfits is that they use too much blue and too deep/saturated blue as well. 

Now this dress and jacket combo is too similar, too plain, that the eye just falls off it. The colours don’t work, the outfit itself doesn’t sell the rich heriess vibes like her Beacon one because of the lace and intricate details. 

But Weiss does still have her signature bell shape silhouette, with the wide sleeves, popped collar, and side ponytail. The outfit has all of Weiss’ signature shapes, but just having the shapes and colours does not make a good redesign.

Blake Belladonna

Now, I can see what she was trying here. I do like gold in Blake’s design, but again, this outfit isn’t really a Blake outfit.

For a critic who constantly goes on about the girls being unnecessarily sexualised, why is Blake showing more skin than she ever has, and especially more than Yang in this video? Where’s the practicality that Twiins keeps talking about, because I can guarantee having a long ass bow tied around your neck is the least practical thing there is. 

Owl actually disagrees with me on this, but I actually like Blake in thigh highs. I think the black thigh highs with white pants gives the illusion of the white shorts and tights that Blake wears in Beacon. I would not have them be the cowboy bell bottom pants because Blake has never had the cowboy aesthetic, it just doesn’t suit her type of fashion. 

The long glove is a nice mimic of her Beacon one, but it is absolutely not staying up like that without a cuff like she had. Again, wouldn’t be an issue if we weren’t taking into practicality, but Twiins always goes on about it so we’re doing it. 

Now the shirt. I hate it. 

The white chest and black surroundings not only helped break up Blake’s black, but it’s reminiscent of the tuxedo cat, which is what Twiins even brings attention to. Why do that and then just take it away? Now the only white Blake has is the small amount of her pants poking out of her pants and just drags the eyes immediately to Blake’s ass. Weiss’ at least distributed the black more effectively. 

The excuse is that since Blake’s hair is short now, she can wear more black, but this is became an issue. The white on the chest gave some interest as opposed to an all black shirt. You can still drive home that her colour is black even with other colours being used, you just have to be clever about it.

As a last note, it really would’ve helped if Twiins kept some purple in the design. The minor use in Blake’s OG worked because it separated the black tights from the black shoes, but here the shoes and pants blend in so much that I would’ve mistaken them for just thigh highs if she didn’t say they were bell bottom pants. 

Just like the blue with Weiss, the purple with Blake only became a problem because they were using it too much and with too light a shade. The purple on Blake’s Beacon tights were a very dark, almost indigo blue, whereas the purple used for her afterwards was much brighter and shifted towards the pink-purple side rather than the blue-purple where it should’ve stayed.  

Yang Xiao Long

This is easily the worst. 

I will say this right now for everyone doing redesigns or anything. Stop putting Yang in so much yellow. It doesn’t work, it’s just ugly and an eye sore.

The only good thing about this is that I like the jacket. Black instead of brown will always work better for Yang because it makes the yellow pop more, and the small use of white ties her to Weiss without it overtaking the design. Keeping it to the inside lining and the sleeve cuffs was actually a good move.

And that’s it. Everything else is just bad. 

The weird silver belt thing around her waist does not look good, the silver clashes with the gold too much, the all yellow jumpsuit means that I just can’t focus on any part of Yang. Her prosthetic gets lost with all the yellow and even the yellow stripes on her boots does little.

Also Yang’s long hair. If Blake having long hair means she has to wear white to help break up her body, why is Yang wearing so much yellow when her yellow hair is still long? 

Now, the inspiration behind this was Yang’s biker outfit in the RWBY Chinese Mobile game, and that outfit sucks too. Hunter is already the best outfit for Yang, and it showed how to use yellow without it being an ugly mess. 

Yang is wearing her primary colour in this outfit, but the difference between this looking good and it looking like a bright eyesore is that it uses two different types of yellow. The bright gold is accents on Yang’s belt, jacket and stockings, going through all the outfit, but it’s accented with black. It’s not black on gold, it’s gold on black, and that’s what makes it easier to digest visually.

And her jacket isn’t a bright yellow. It’s cream. It’s enough of a yellow colour that it adds to Yang’s colour, but without being so bright it’s distracting. Yang here isn’t wearing primarily yellow, it’s just that the yellow is used on top of the black as decals that the viewer is immediately drawn to them. Whereas with the brown and orange, you’d immediately go to that before you go to the bright yellow right next to it. 

As another note, the purple cloth on her belt is a nice way of introducing purple in a different way to the bandana for Yang. It’s not too much that it dilutes the contrasting purple eyes to her yellow colour scheme, but it’s enough to not feel like a random colour thrown in for laughs. I love her Hunter outfit and I honestly wish CRWBY would take more from this colour scheme than that shitty brown/orange combo they keep shoving Yang in.

Now, redesigns don’t bother me. They really don’t, I actually think a lot do better than what we get in the actual show, but these designs aren’t helped by the fact that Twiins has criticised the show for poor choices in the designs and yet repeats them in her own. Her attitude doesn’t help her because she even said in her ranking video that she doubt CRWBY would see it and doubt even more that they would be bothered to actually listen, when she’s already proven herself that she can’t take criticism either.

And ultimately, you can’t do that. If you give criticism, if you use your education and past as credentials while also saying that it’s just your opinion, make sure your own work is up to par. Otherwise, you’re just gonna end up with egg on your face, and these designs are some big eggs.

   something mildly obvious but maybe worth saying given the dogshit state of discourse right now online... these “once in a lifetime” climate disasters are the new normal. Get used to them. Preparing for oncoming climate disaster does not look like becoming one of those whacko preppers  or white “homesteaders” the History channel likes to display. It looks like talking to your neighbors, joining local organizations that provide mutual aid (find your local anarchists and/or communists), helping your community make plans for the disabled in case of long term blackouts and medication distribution plans. It looks like learning how to use a goddamn radio (I really mean HAM but even a simple receiving radio may be your best way to receive news in an emergency), how to wash dishes without running hot water, how to disinfect surfaces to a safe standard, how to stay calm and help others stay calm in an emergency. I’m a former Eagle Scout and have silly wilderness skills for days, but probably the most useful thing I know how to do is cook and clean in less than ideal conditions.

  materially preparing for an emergency is relatively simple, and can be done a little at a time with mind to cost. Working with others would be more efficient, because you can take advantage of economies of scale in buying nonperishable goods (economies of scale for certain goods are absurd & break my mind to think about sometimes, take advantage). You want cold weather clothes, rain clothes, and good boots. You want flashlights, lamps, and batteries. You want alcohol to disinfect things, gloves, antibiotics, bandages, gauze, painkillers, anti-diarrhea pills (very rare they’ll come in handy,  but trust me you’ll need them in a “there are no lights or running water for days, and I’m shitting out all the water I’m drinking” situation”), and other things you can research by googling “at home first aid kits” or “disaster first aid kit”. Canned food is great, dried food is great if you’ll have a way to cook it. This is again where knowing your community helps, knowing who has grills and propane and so on. A camping stove and fuel are a solid investment.

   If your house has a fireplace & chimney, get someone qualified to ensure the flue is in good condition every once in a while. You can buy firewood ahead of snowstorms, and that’s heat and cooking blackouts can’t impact (cooking over a fire is a skill best learned not under duress, but people have managed it for tens of thousands of years, so can you). Advise your neighbors on this. When there’s not a pandemic (or taking appropriate risks as you deem fit), you can invite folks in your community without heat over to stay warm at your place. Remember that your community does not stop with the housed, and organizing extreme weather plans for said community should involve the homeless. Also remember that “extreme weather event” includes heatwaves, and you should plan for AC-induced rolling summer blackouts just as much as blizzards, and be aware of the elderly and disabled in your community who may be at higher risk for heat stroke and so on.

   I could go on for pages, but the essential bit is this. This is “normal” now. We have to get used to it. We can prepare for it. We’re pretty bad communists if we can’t help our communities. It would come off as China-bashing, which in fact it is more an alarmist entry regarding an East vs. West power struggle that gets out of hand with a conflagration of a World War in its wake. I get skittish when I receive such automatic writing missives from the angels as a cautionary form of tough love. As repent all ye who enter here type of phenomena. For my part, I usually bury these statements in my notebook collection of these channeled statements. However, I deemed this one more so detailed with 8 Points of No Return as qualifiers for WW3 with China versus the World triggers itself. I intuit that this is 75% locked in already as ill-fated destiny up to 85% potentiality.

This is my caveat I hope to God I'm awful wrong as having drunk the Kool-Aid as Coco for Coco-Puffs loony toons basket case in this regard. With that stated, I feel more a prophet of doom than an Inspirational spiritual poet as my usual devotion. The statement 3,048 dovetails also upon the commencement of WW4 in 2075 by the European Federation as an Empire, not today's European Union.

The peoples of Ukraine are ancestrally pure stalk of Euro-Slavic genetics and the future European Federation as a dystopian version succeeds the European Union after the rampant famines and plagues scorch the earth post WW3. The European Super Continent unites more so akin to the Ancient Roman Empire of yore with democratic tendencies only for its elite castes. The 4th seal of WW3 is already partially cracked open with China claiming its ancestral Imperial Dynastic seaways and now air passage routes in an outright fashion. Naval commerce and air traffic are now harrassed including foreign military air traffic be dammed. The 7th seal of WW3 is the greatly lauded Belt and Road Initiative as the Silk Road 2.0 becomes what it is advertised to do. A boon of Chinese engineering producing Infrastructure projects from China through the Middle East into parts of Europe as Sino goodwill public relations globally. It is a roaring success since similar projects brought Africa out of its schizophrenic famines and poverty up to 20 years ago. That all the foreign aid historically upon Africa could never do.

However, what looks good and feels good with much mutual economic prosperity triggers a fervor for Chinese hegemony abroad. Where southeast Asian nations of Cambodia, Laos, Vietnam, Thailand, Myanmar, and Indonesia soon get the negative attention of Chinese interference as Big Brother. Frankly stated the Belt and Road Initiative becomes a proverbial Trojan Horse for the conscripted armies of Russia, North Korea, and China's armies. To seemingly roll upon in the guise of an inaugural guest-hosted military parade throughout the circuitous route becomes a bait and switch tactic.

The 8th seal of WW3 is that the unwelcome security occupation by the Chinese armies outside its mainland albeit as security guarantors is soon worn out. The remaining free nations declare war on China and within months a nuclear holocaust is triggered by the United States as a desperate first-strike policy.

Thus ensuring that Beijing its Capitol and Shangai as a modern port megalopolis of Chinese Supermacy is nuked several times by the Western nations of the US and Europe leaving it akin to a lunar landscape. The United States will receive the majority of Chinese Nukes rather than that of Europe as cited in the above introduction to this posting. The US island territory of Puerto Rico is hit directly upon Old San Juan its Capitol for it lacks a missile battery defense shield capability. All the island residents that remain leave over the ensuring years throughout the rest of the Caribbean (ie Cuba, Haiti, Dominican Republic, etc...) and other parts of Florida.

The United States loses its superpower status soon to become the Federated States of America an empire by any other name dystopian. Chronic outbreaks of famine and various once curable diseases spread dysentery of water-born illnesses run rampant and plagues of Covid-19 and other forms of Influenza throughout the Americas.

However, in the decade to follow the Federated States of America invades its neighbor to the North as Canada. In order to seize its prized infrastructure and pastoral farmlands to maintain its hold of power. Slavery in America is institutionalized once more in order to cultivate its non-irradiated farmlands and strip mining. Hungry mouths cause riots and thus enslaving such unruly ungrateful once citizens is another act of desperation.

Africa and the rest of the Americas such as the Central and Southern regions fare way better from the Chinese and Russian nuclear attacks lest that of Columbia and Costa Rica. Ironically democracies take root here to one degree or another as they see the dystopian societies of Europe and that of North America and want no part of that turmoil. The Federated States of America partially fascist devolves into feudal Esque family houses of nobility as the once upper classes survive to a degree via tact and shrewdness.

I want to start by saying if you enjoy Almalexia, be it in a simple way or in a thirst way, good for you. You enjoy the game how you want to enjoy it, because that’s what a game is for.

Now, that being said, I see absolutely no case for trying to “reclaim” Almalexia. Mainly because these “years of injustice” towards gay or female villains have long since passed. Yes, it was a thing, and yes it was horrible. But we’ve since moved on. I mean, as a woman, I’m proud to say that I could be flicking through TV channels or various options on any streaming app and find a series featuring a strong, independent woman- or involving a complex female villain who isn’t just “ugly”, but just enjoys being evil OR has a complicated and sympathetic background that forced her to become the villain.

Off the top of my head:

Hunger Games Parks and Rec The Office She-Ra  Steven Universe Owl House Rick Riordan collections Moana The Polar Express Song of the Sea

Wonder Woman

All these either feature one or both a strong female hero or a complex female villain, and they’re just the icing on the very real and very stable female empowerment cake.  

Will we still see ugly women portrayed in some fiction as villains? Yes, but we will also see ugly men portrayed as the villains. Usually for a purely comedic effect. If it’s bad taste, it’s easily seen as bad taste and therefore not well received, especially online. As for the gay aspect, that too has been changing- and funny enough some of the examples listed above are testimony to that!

Now to Almalexia herself:

I have to disagree, and argue that stating she is a “poorly written female” is a total injustice. Almalexia is an insanely good female villain. Why? Because when you face her, you feel fear. You know you are faced with an actual threat, a real challenge of a boss fight. She’s clever, resourceful, and you know she’s powerful enough to do as she pleases. After all, earlier in game she asks you to go force some dunmer to start worshiping her again or she’ll send an actual fatal storm to wipe them out. 

Please understand: the dunmer have a backwards and suffocating culture. They shove tradition down your throat, and even then will still hate you and say you aren’t good enough to polish their boots. It’s been like this for centuries, and why? Because the Tribunal never changed. Unlike other pantheons in Tamriel which adapted with time naturally, the Tribunal never shifted. Did you see Vivec and Almalexia ever lift a finger to stop the slavery in their lands? To stop the random wars between Ashlanders and the Houses? Did Sotha Sil even bother to change anything from the outside world in his Clockwork City for the better?

The Nerevarine is the change Morrowind needed. They’re this one outsider who doesn’t care about what anyone wants to try to force on them, and despite all the hardships, they ascend to power above any of these garbage people. They bring down the Tribunal, and Morrowind is able too breathe. 

This is why Alamlexia is such a good villain. Because she doesn’t want this change. Male or female, any gender is capable to be corrupted by greed and power. That was her from the get go. Both Vivec and Sotha Sil expressed regret at killing Nerevar. They didn’t change their ways, but they expressed regret. Almalexia never looked back. She knew what she was doing and never regretted it. Now suddenly the temple is finally falling, and she’s loosing her power. Yeah, she isn’t going to let that happen. 

So it’s you, the Nerevarine, who is responsible for a possible change for the better in the atmosphere of Morrowind, verses Almalexia, the last of the Tribunal who will keep things structured in tradition out of sheer greed. She literally worked out every movement you took from the beginning of that DLC up to point you see Sil’s corpse and she confronts you. This badass had a perfect plan devised, and I quote from her directly,

 "Nerevarine. Here it ends. This Clockwork City was to be your death. You were to be my greatest martyr! The heroic Nerevarine, sacrificing all to protect Morrowind from the mad Sotha Sil. But you live! You live! Fear not. I will tell the tale myself when this is done. I will tell my people how with your dying breath you proclaimed your devotion to me, the one true god. Your death will end this prophecy and unite my people again under one god, one faith, one rule by my divine law. The puppet king will lay down his arms and bow to my will. Those who do not yield will be destroyed. The Mazed Band has allowed me to travel to this place. Here, I slew Sotha Sil. Here, I summoned the Fabricants to attack Mournhold. I will be the savior of my people! I alone will be their salvation! None may stand in my way. Not you, and certainly not Vivec. He is a poet, a fool. I will deal with him when I have finished with you. And Sotha Sil...he always thought himself our better, shunning us, locking himself in this hole. He spoke not a word as he died. Not a whisper. Even in death, he mocked me with his silence! But I think you will scream, mortal. For now, you face the one true god."

What a set up for a boss battle!  

That’s insanely engaging! 

Honestly, she reminds me of Mother Gothel from Tangled. Always gaslighting her people, always making them believe she does everything out of love for them, when in reality she does it all only for her own benefit. 

Don’t get me wrong, Vivec and Sotha Sil aren’t saints. Even though they admitted regret, they didn’t do anything about that. They didn’t speak up, step down, or give the power back they stole. Instead, they tried to go under the excuse “we must continue on like this, the people can’t handle the truth.” Yeah, very convenient guys. 

But Almalexia outshines them both as one of the greatest villains in TES history. 

To Sum Up

There are things that need to be changed in Morrowind. The cringe, edgelord writing about Divayth and his daughters for instance. But the struggle between Tradition vs Progression, and the majesty of Almalexia’s final encounter do not need to be changed.  

If you want female empowerment in TES, then please look to the real icons.  Khamira, the young queen who faced an impossible rebellion. 

Lyris, who doesn’t know how to express nor deal with her emotions, and who gets weird looks for her sheer size by everyone else but her fellow Nords, but she keeps swinging that axe regardless! 

Valsirenn, who, despite having to revisit the painful reality of losing her daughter, still sought after her ex if only to find closure, and though Iachesis’ death weighed on her heart, she bit the bullet and saw things through to the end. 

And those are only three jewels of a treasure chest full of gems, let me assure you. if I had any real criticism, I’d like for female heroes to have more flaws. Nobody is born perfect, and half of what makes the hero is their struggle but final victory in overcoming their flaws or complications. 

This is the last time I’m reacting to Almalexia material on my blog. 

I don’t want my blog filled with fandom discourse. Yes, I’ve blogged before about Greymoor disappointments, but to be fair I was reviewing a product I paid $50 bucks for, and some people paid even more for it! I’ve received hate anon due to the Almalexia topic already, and had my words taken out of context due to someone not reblogging my actual argument but screenshotting the tags and only posting those. People ramble in their tags on tumblr. That’s a common thing. And funny enough, the tags are meant to go along with the actual blog itself. 

Any Asks sent regarding Almalexia will be ignored. If you have an excessive problem with my opinion on her, just block me. 

Again, I want to state: If you love Almalexia, just love Almalexia. More power to you. 

Just don’t attack people with long essays about how your opinion is correct and they are sexist for not agreeing with you!

I wholeheartedly agree with that one. No way Luke would wear things like that intentionally. I mean that man has a true pure boy energy (and actually is one, which is sad cause life does not do exceptions and look what it did to him). And he grew up on a freaking dust ball of a planet where peak fashion you see is hutts slaves wardrobe choices!

Yes, he is a Skywalker, and we all know that Skywalkers are always about the Drama (TM) and meaningful looks (even if it's cinemas fault). Which Luke certainly shares. And yes, jedis in general have their own culture and style.

So far the worst we've seen were Darth Vader and Kylo Ren. Cause they need to be intimidating and make people aware who is the Bad Guy around here. Next comes Leia with her political career. She must be aware of her appearance. And only then comes Luke with his simple Jedi look with some meaning behind it. Only in color btw. And that's it. The worst we've seen him was Dramatically (TM) taking off his hood.

So yes, I believe Luke is a true Skywalker, therefore a true Drama Queen, but more in action department than fashion one.

Leia and Luke are too practical to actually participate in real FASHHHHHION. But they both can and will do styles cause they know the power of proper look. It may as well be Force related thing cause they know what effect it causes.

ANYWAY, all of it does not necessarily make Luke do NOT wear Chanel Boots.I present you the idea of him wearing them ACCIDENTALLY!

Just like he ended up running around in that yellow jacket. What if he has on idea what are those clothes cause he was given them at some point and was like, oh they feet and are quite comfy to wear and fight in, thank you very much I will certainly wear them! And next time he strides in some Leias politician party/snake nest and everyone goes OH SHIT internally. Because Channel boots are what they are and they make Luke look really nice and he still a jedi and a pure boy with a power to crush you. So. While Luke definitely has no real understanding why people around him react like this, but they do and it helps him help Leia so why not.

The only culprit behind this disaster must be Han, who will laugh right until Leia comes down at him, but won't stop gifting Luke discreet fashion shit. And Luke will certainly find out at some point and OH WOW that explains everything. He will either have no care in the world or make Han stop cause it ruins his reputation as a jedi and teacher.

So yeah. I once again stress it that Luke is not that kind of human, who will care about fashion. As a crack this headcanon is fine, otherwise it is not.

Yes, Luke how I see him is a Little Shit. Is a Drama Queen because of it. He may be ace or gay or whatever. But he is not a sucker for fashion. Just. Not.
