Will you be my Hunter: Unexpected Vampire
After waking up, our heroes were given the newspaper by their host Marcella:
Our heroes shortly discussed trying to steal Marcella's ring back from her family while they're distracted watching their champion Caio in the Pegu-I finale but decided not to wait almost 4 weeks for that.
Then they decided to check out that mysterious visitor to house Vincenti just in case it was Lugno.
On their way there, they ran into Rachel, who was accompanied by Antonia and a third person that the group hasn't met before.
Rachel offered them a (non-lethal) fight outside the city at sunrise tomorrow so they could establish whoever of them is more powerful so they could start working together (this was previously discussed with Cataris, I think I might have missed that before). They accepted and Cataris left the group.
Then they continued on to the Vincenti estate. Sethra tried scrying inside but only saw a young woman reading (which at least meant there were still living people inside) so I're and Mhoira tried to get the guards to let them inside.
I're tried being somewhat honest and told the guards that she suspected that her mother that she has been looking for for a while was a guest here. The guard went inside to inform the Lady of the house.
Shortly after that, they were invited in. It turned out that the mysterious guest was none other than the vampire Bonifatia (yeah that was why I had you vote on that poll a bit ago) who was very curious to find out who believed themself her child.
After clearing up the misunderstanding and inviting the other three to join in, they talked for a while with Bonifatia. Among other things Bonifatia told them that Rocus and Cazata are not trustworthy and they shouldn't work with them.
She also told the story of how Lugno became a vampire. Lugno was a general in a war between Chont and Okery and Bonifatia faced her on the battlefield. She was a formidable opponent but Bonifatia was still able to defeat her but was forced to do so with a bite. Bonifatia was later forced to retreat from the battlefield, leaving her unable to dispose of Lugno's body before she could turn into a vampire spawn. Then the vampire Rocus came to Lugno and let her drink some of his blood, transforming her into a true vampire.
Bonifatia also explained that a vampire is unable to harm those that have drunk their blood, meaning Rocus would be unable to kill Lugno himself and reliant on help from adventurers like them to get rid of her.

Judith Jones is a celebrated figure in the world of publishing, having made indelible contributions to both literature and culinary writing. Her illustrious career spanned several decades, during which she played a pivotal role in shaping modern American culinary tastes and literary standards.
Upon joining Alfred A. Knopf, Jones's influence grew exponentially. She became a champion of culinary literature at a time when the genre was still finding its place in American publishing. Her editorial vision and dedication were instrumental in launching the careers of some of the most esteemed food writers. Perhaps the most notable of Jones's contributions to culinary literature was her work with Julia Child. Jones edited Child’s seminal book "Mastering the Art of French Cooking," which demystified French cuisine for the American home cook and sparked a culinary revolution in the United States. The success of this book not only cemented Julia Child's place as a household name but also elevated the status of cookbooks as serious works of literature.
One of Jones’s earliest literary credits is that she discovered the French edition of Anne Frank’s diary in a pile of rejected manuscripts when she was just 27.
As others have pointed out, the journey of the Holocaust account, originally written in Dutch, is remarkable. The story, like so many in publishing, demonstrates how easily masterpieces can be looked over, and how the fate of a manuscript can turn on a dime.
Frank’s diary, written over two years while in hiding in Amsterdam, before she was sent to a concentration camp, needed just one believer to bring it to the English-speaking world. It so happened Jones was that person. It was Frank’s now famous face that caught her eye.
A 2009 interview with the editor published in the Jewish Chronicle includes this anecdote:
“One day, my boss went off to lunch with his fellow editors, and left me with a pile of stuff, said Jones, now senior editor and vice president at Alfred A. Knopf publishers, where she has worked since 1957. As she was going through the pile, “I came to this lovely face,” she recalled. It was the photograph of Anne Frank gracing the cover of the advance copy of the French edition of the book that caught Jones’ eye, and bid her to begin reading.
“I read it all day,” she said. “When my boss returned, I told him, ‘We have to publish this book.’ He said, ‘What? That book by that kid?’”
The book was published in English by Doubleday in 1952 as Anne Frank: The Diary of a Young Girl. It became a sensation, particularly for its passages in which Frank reaffirms her faith in humanity, despite the genocide she was witness to. The first printing was 5,000 copies, but after the book received positive reviews, another 15,000 copies, and then another 45,000, were printed.
In addition to Julia Child, Jones introduced American audiences to a host of other influential culinary figures:
James Beard: Often referred to as the dean of American cooking, Beard's works under Jones's guidance became essential references for both home cooks and professional chefs.
Marcella Hazan: Known as the doyenne of Italian cooking, Hazan's books, edited by Jones, brought authentic Italian cuisine to the forefront of American culinary culture.
Madhur Jaffrey: With Jones's editorial support, Jaffrey's books on Indian cuisine expanded Americans' palates and understanding of the rich and diverse culinary traditions of India.
Judith Jones's talents were not confined to the culinary world. She also worked with numerous distinguished literary authors, helping to shape their works and ensure their lasting impact. Her editorial prowess extended to:
John Updike: An iconic figure in American literature, known for his prolific writing and acute insights into American life.
Anne Tyler: Renowned for her deeply humanistic and emotionally resonant novels.
Langston Hughes: A central figure of the Harlem Renaissance, Hughes's work in poetry, fiction, and drama was influential in American culture.
Jean-Paul Sartre and Albert Camus: Giants of existentialist philosophy and literature, their works challenged and expanded the intellectual landscape of the 20th century.
In addition to her editorial work, Judith Jones was a talented author. She coauthored three books with her late husband, Evan Jones, blending their shared passions for food and literature. Her individual works also received acclaim, with her most recent book, "Love Me, Feed Me: Sharing With Your Dog the Everyday Good Food You Cook and Enjoy" (2014), reflecting her deep affection for cooking and her pets.
Sadly, Jones died of complications from Alzheimer's disease at age 93 on August 2, 2017, in Walden, Vermont.

The final two competitors in our opening contest tonight, Kris Wolfe & MJF, walk down the ramp together, whispering to each other as they do, perhaps making some last minute strategy adjustments to whatever plan they were coming into this one with. It was no secret to anyone in this match, or anyone watching, that the Fallen would have a couple tricks up their sleeve. As far as we know, the Fallen’s goal tonight seems to be to make sure Kris Wolfe wins this match, with the aim of getting the MPW World Championship back on their leader. Whether that means we’re going to be seeing some outside interference from the other Fallen members in this one remains to be seen, but it’s fair to assume that the other competitors in this match are expecting it.
No one in this match had less faith in a fair fight than Effy. If anyone in MPW’s had their life fucked with by the Fallen more than Effy, we’ll be sure to send them a fruit basket in apology. Effy’s eyes are locked dead on both Max and Kris as they approach the ring. It would be a small measure of revenge in Effy’s story against the Fallen to spoil the start of their evening, and leave here with the Ace in the Hole tonight himself. It wouldn’t be an easy task, and everyone else in the match is certainly going to have something to say about it. Former world champion Io Shirai, one of New Japan’s fastest rising stars in Yota Tsuji, one of the top wrestlers on the American Independent scene in Alec Price, an absolute legend in Victoria, and the MPW’s academy’s own Alice Marcella, an absolute spitfire trained by some of the best in the industry.
And Price is already out here looking for his big moment on the big stage, leaping up onto the top rope, and launching himself at Kris Wolfe and MJF on the floor! Double cross body takes out the Fallen representatives in this match!
With no other choice in the matter, referee Tom Dunn calls for the bell, and we’re underway here tonight! Yota Tsuji blindsides Effy almost instantly, trapping him in the corner and hammering away at him with several stiff forearms to the jaw. Price is almost immediately up on his feet, and he picks MJF up with him, throwing MJF into the barricade, before starting to kick away at the former MPW Stardust champion. MJF tries his best to defend himself, but the educated feet of Price are doing their damage. Alice seems to find trouble almost immediately with former world champion and member of the Dark Triad, Io Shirai, who pulls her out of the ring under the bottom rope, and immediately traps Alice in the ring skirt, beating down on the MPW sophomore. That just leaves Victoria scraping Kris Wolfe off the floor on the outside, and starting to trade forearm shots with the Succubus, as this match starts the way the massive brawl on the last show ended, with Victoria and Kris coming to blows, and much like that interaction, we see Victoria gain an early advantage here, getting the better of Kris and pummeling her into the barricade at ringside. Victoria asks a couple fans at ringside to hold Kris’ arms, and they comply, before Victoria absolutely lays into Kris with a chop that sends Kris stumbling away, hunched over, clutching her chest and swearing at herself. Victoria follows Kris up the ramp, continuing laying in the beating on the woman several years her junior.
Price continues to try and stomp away at MJF, before making some distance to try and build up some speed, charging MJF, looking for a big dropkick, but Max cuts him off and lifts Alec Price up, before dropping Price right on the steel guardrail with a stun gun! Price takes a steel guardrail to the jaw! Yikes!
MJF takes a couple seconds to recover, before moving quickly up the map to help Kris get away from Victoria. Max goes to grab Victoria, who was currently still laying a beating on Kris, but as Max approaches, Victoria changes her attention to him, and starts beating the shit out of Max too! Victoria is on an absolute tear here in her MPW debut, her first professional wrestling match since 2019!
Unfortunately, the momentum seems to run out, as she turns around and gets absolutely DRILLED by a running pump kick from Kris Wolfe! Goodnight, Victoria!
Kris and Max spend a couple moments stomping Victoria out on the outside, it’s obvious Kris would like to do more considering the Widow’s Peak she ate last week from Victoria, but they had a match to win, and a plan to enact. Kris grabs a ladder from the entrance ramp and tells Max to head to the ring.
Back in the ring, Effy had just dodged a Gene Blaster from Tsuji, leaping up and trapping Tsuji in the ropes for a Tarantula hold, stretching Tsuji in the ropes, before letting him go. Effy is quick to climp up to the second rope, and leap off, planting Yota with a Blockbuster, driving the back of his head into the mat. Effy is back to his feet, but immediately gets dropped with a clothesline from MJF, who then proceeds to drag Effy into the corner, and start stomping away at the bleach blonde, trying to get him out of Kris’ way for the time being. Kris slides into the ring with the ladder, and goes to set it up, but Alice Marcella kicks her right in the face as she tries! Still holding onto the ladder, Kris is stunned, and Alice decides her best course of action is to attempt a Torpedo Moscow… and as she charges Kris, head first, Kris DRILLS ALICE IN THE HEAD WITH THE LADDER! JESUS FUCKING CHRIST!
With Alice’s skull maybe bashed open from that, she rolls out of the ring, as Kris finished setting up the ladder, and looks to climb. Before she can get too far up, however, Alec Price is back in the ring, pulling on her foot, trying to pull her down off the ladder. Price succeeds, and MJF tries to run over to help, but Price hooks Kris’ leg, and then uses MJF as a launchpad, kicking MJF in the face as he uses that momentum to plant Kris with a Tornado DDT! With both Fallen members now dispatched, Alec Price tries to head up the ladder!
Price makes it about 3/4ths of the way up, before realizing Io Shirai was attempting to tip the ladder over. Deciding to cut his losses, and apparently content at taking Io down with him, Price leaps off the ladder, before coming down on Io with both feet, CRUSHING Io with a massive Hood Stah Stomp off the ladder! Holy shit!
The crowd here in Los Angeles is at a fever pitch, as Price is back on his feet, and looking up at the briefcase. We haven’t seen much of Price here in MPW, but he’s made the most of every opportunity he’s been given here to this point, and there’s no doubt in our minds that Alec Price would occupy the MPW main event scene for a long, long time should he pull down the Ace in the Hole contract tonight. Price gets cut off before he can starts climbing, however, by a big forearm from Yota Tsuji. The former NJPW Young Lion using some of the ring smarts he learned at the New Japan Dojo, having the wherewithal to knock the ladder over and into the corner, playing a little defense here in this match. Tsuji turns his attention back to Price, and blasts him with another forearm, before trying to throw Price into the ladder. Price turns it around on him though, and tries to send Tsuji into the ladder, but Tsuji again turns it around on Price, before electing to use a hip toss to deposit Alec Price onto the ladder! Steel meets flesh as Price cries out in agony and rolls to the floor, leaving Tsuji all alone in the ring.
Yota pulls the ladder out of the corner and sets it up in the ring, before he starts the long climb up, and Tsuji actually becomes the first man in this match to get his hands on the Ace in the Hole! Tsuji isn’t able to pull the case down though, before Victoria manages to pull him down off the ladder and to the ring mat once again.
Tsuji is hesitant to take a swing at Victoria, probably hesitant to immediately try to and strike a professional wrestling legend, instead insisting she get out of his way and stay back. Victoria refuses to move, though, and Tsuji elects to try and instead shove his way past her…. A bad move as Victoria elects to kick Tsuji in the gut, lift him up, and plant Yota Tsuji with a Widow’s Peak! Tsuji gets dropped!
Victoria gets back to her feet, only to turn around and eat a spear from Kris Wolfe! Wolfe gets a measure of revenge on Victoria, and gets the ring cleared once again, and Kris makes a move for the briefcase. Kris starts climbing up the ladder, reaching for the case, before Io meets her up on the other side, as Kris and Io start trading right hands atop the ladder!
The two ladies continue to battle back and forth, only for Io to hold up for a moment, realizing Max was trying to reach up and pull her off the ladder to help Kris. Kris goes for the briefcase, but is stopped suddenly by the face that Effy has a hold of her foot, trying to prevent his former tag partner and current rival from obtaining the briefcase herself. Io and Kris both struggle to kick them away, before the two of them look each other in the eye, and seemingly get the same idea at the same time, before Kris and Io both launch themselves back off the ladder, Moonsaults En Stereo, crashing down on Effy & MJF respectively! Wow!
Kris and Io are both up to their feet quickly, and immediately begin trading forearms with each other again, both of these women bound and determined to get one over on the other. Io backs off and tries to charge Kris, but Kris dodges out of the way, trying to throw Io out of the ring, but Io lands on the second rope, and leaps up to the top, before Io leaps off, catches Kris in mid air, and tosses Kris with a hurricanrana! Kris is thrown from the ring, leaving Io alone with a ladder for the time being!
Io looks as if she’s going to try and climb up the ladder, when Victoria slides into the ring with a ladder of her own, and sets it up perpendicular to the one ladder up currently in the middle of the ring. Victoria tries to pull Io off the ladder she’s currently climbing, but Io nails her with a kick to the face, knocking Victoria back into the ropes. With Victoria momentarily stunned, Io continues the climb for the Briefcase, but as she approaches the top, suddenly, in an amazing feat of athleticism, Alec Price runs up the perpendicular ladder, leaps up, and in mid-air, catches Io right in the back of the head with a Side Kick! Io goes limp and falls from the ladder, and Price crashes to the mat himself! Holy shit!
Victoria seemed to have enough wherewithal to capitalize, climbing up the ladder herself, and actually manages to get to the top, and get a hand on the briefcase! Victoria, in her first match in almost 5 years, at 53 years old, could be about to earn herself an MPW title opportunity whenever she wants!
It’s not meant to be, though, at least not yet, as Maxwell Jacob Friedman meets her on the other side of the ladder, and grabs a firm hold of Victoria’s hair, preventing Victoria from reaching up and grabbing the briefcase, as Max starts berating her from the top of the ladder. Max looks ready to throw Victoria off the ladder, when Victoria, thinking quickly, reaches through the rungs of the ladder and traps Max into a testicular claw! Max’s eyes nearly bug right out of his skull, and the noise he makes atop that ladder echos throughout the Kia Forum, before Victoria grabs him, lifts Max up, and goes backwards off the ladder with MJF, Victoria going off the ladder with a ladder Superlex on MJF! Max and Victoria both crash down to the mat hard!
Both wrestlers roll out of the ring, leaving the ring unoccupied for the time being, but Yota Tsuji is quick to take advantage of the opportunity, quickly climbing up the ladder, and going after the briefcase. Effy is quick to meet him up there, and those two start going at it on top of the ladder. Alice Marcella, trying to make her presence felt, joins the three of them up there, climbing the other ladder, and now we’ve got three competitors all reaching for the briefcase! The ladders don’t look very stable, but referee Tom Dunn is actually on the mat, holding the ladders, and almost praying that we don’t have some sort of catastrophe from here. Both Yota & Effy turn and grab Alice, and slam her head down onto the top of the ladder, sending Alice sliding down the ladder! Yota watches her slide down, and the distraction is enough for Effy to slam his head down on the ladder, stunning Tsuji, and allowing Effy to slide over to that other ladder, and stand up on one of the top rungs, before Effy leaps, catches Tsuji with the leg, and drives Tsuji all the way down to the mat, from the top of the ladder, with a Sack Ryder! Holy shit!
Both Effy and Tsuji crash to the mat, and both roll to the outside, both wrestlers grouping up on the side of the ring with the ramp on it, many of the other wrestlers who were just trying to recover from the brutality of this ladder match grouping up with them. Alone in the ring is Alice Marcella, who starts climbing up the ladder, but it doesn’t seem like Alice has any intention of going for the briefcase, instead it looks like she’s trying to make her name on MPW’s biggest stage! While this may not be wise, we’re past that now, as Alice leaps off the ladder with something of a Phoenix Splash, and crashes down on all of the other compettiors in this match! Holy shit! Alice Marcella from almost 20 feet in the air!
All of the competitors in this match are down at this point now, and to a degree we’re back to even in this one, all of the competitors on the outside of the ring, all of them struggling to get back to their feet here in this one. Victoria manages to slip out, and use the apron to try and keep herself standing, not realizing she’s being stalked from behind quietly by Kris Wolfe. Wolfe goes to grab her from behind, only for Victoria to have been expecting it, turn around, and kick’s Kris right in the gut! Victoria goes to lift Kris, looking for the Widow’s Peak, looking to catch Kris with it for a second time, but Kris manages to slip out the back! Kris lands on her feet and grabs Victoria, planting her with a Supernova! Victoria gets PLANTED!
Kris Wolfe stands over Victoria, mocking her, even reaches down and slaps Victoria in the face, taking somewhat of a victory lap over Victoria, Kris still clearly bothered by the fact that Victoria got one over on her on the show last week. Kris stands up to complete her gloating, only to lock eyes with Yota Tsuji, charing at her, before CRUSHING Kris through the steel guardrail with a Gene Blaster! Holy shit! Kris and Tsuji practically explode through the barricade!
Chants of “Holy shit! Holy shit! Holy shit!” ring out for the third time in this match, and Kris Wolfe and Yota Tsuji both aren’t moving! MJF walks over, hands on his head, clearly at least trying to look a little concerned for Kris, before he drops down and tries to shake Kris awake, but it’s not working. Kris Wolfe is out cold, and she’s got a grown man laying across her as well. Kris Wolfe might be down tonight, and that puts a major wrench in the Fallen’s plans for the evening!
MJF looks back around, back over his shoulder, as the ring lays empty, realizing it’s prime opportunity for someone to go win this match, but Kris won’t be able to do it right now. MJF instead abandon’s Kris at ringside, and slides into the ring hismelf, climbing up the ladder, Max is gonna win this match!
Or at least it looked like he was about to, until Effy meets him atop the ladder! MJF and Effy meet at the top, and starts trading right hands, both competitors fighting for their lives, both competitors understanding whoever is left on this ladder at the end of this exchange will be the man to pull down this briefcase. Effy and MJF continue to trade right hands back and forth, until Max decides he’s had enough of a fair fight, and just reaches out and shoves his fingers into Effy’s eyes! Effy is blinded, and Max takes the opportunity to shove Effy off the ladder! Effy crashes to the mat below, and Max reaches up, unhooking the briefcase!
“Here is your winner of the 2024 MPW Ace in the Hole Ladder Match, Maxwell Jacob Friedman!”
MJF is victorious and has earned himself an anytime, anywhere championship match for any MPW Championship of his choice! It may not have been The Fallen’s original plan tonight, but the Fallen does still end up with the Ace in the Hole briefcase!

you have somehow convinced me to become an iron chef watcher i am so intrigued. where do i start my friend
scream! anon i love you. okay well. the good thing about ICA is you can start anywhere. i always recommend starting with MY favorite episode (11.10, zakarian v. guarnaschelli - battle potato chip). i also need to note that i'm going off of the episodes that are available on the food network go platform and some of the episodes (the ones with mario batali) are "conspicuously absent".
but really the way to do it is get yourself familiar with the iron chefs so that way you know who you want to watch! it's more fun when you're watching someone whose personality is fun for you! my favorite iron chefs are alex guarnaschelli (this is obvious), geoffrey zakarian (he's so pretentious and silly he makes it fun), michael symon (he is probably THE most fun iron chef to watch because he likes to joke around), and masaharu morimoto (his food is fucking insane, he's the best iron chef). also pay attention to the challenger names. do you recognize them? watch those too! once you know who you're enjoying the most just watch all their fucking episodes and then move to the others. you can also look at the wiki list of episodes and see what the secret ingredients are to select episodes that way as well. but if you want a little list, here are the episodes that I like to watch:
my favorite episodes are ones where iron chefs battle each other. these are some of those episodes:
11.10 to 11.14 aka the tournament of champions
these are the episodes i watch a lot: 1.1 - morimoto v. donna (first episode, intro to the format, it also dares to answer a dreaded question..... what happens if you don't finish on time!) 1.2 flay v. tsai (you have to look at bobby flay but i like ming tsai and he makes a fucking peking duck in 60 minutes which is impressive) 2.6 morimoto v. symon (mike symon before he became an iron chef... morimoto does a really insane sushi roll in this battle) 5.2 cora v. guarnaschelli (alex guarnaschelli before she became an iron chef!) 7.7 flay v. freitag (amanda freitag is fun to watch) 8.11 morimoto v. zakarian (geoffrey zakarian before he becomes an iron chef (you're noticing a pattern?)! this is the first episode of iron chef that i ever watched) 8.13 symon v. fraser (this episode is insane. challenger comes in with NO SOUS CHEFS and goes against mike symon ALONE) 9.7 symon v. hearst (youngest challenger in kitchen stadium) 10.4 team flay v. team morimoto (marcella valladolid and andrew zimmern team up with the iron chefs) 10.22 symon v. izard (my wife stephanie izard!!!!!!!!!!! she becomes an iron chef in the reboot season but this battle is super fun) 11.1 guarnaschelli v. joo (ALEX G'S FIRST BATTLE!) 11.3 zakarian v. chiarello (GZ eats the dreaded scotch bonnet pepper) 12.8 grill masters (three iron chefs take on three aussie chefs) 12.9 ultimate bar food (anthony anderson and judge simon majumdar team up with iron chefs)
and honestly, ANY thanksgiving or holiday themed battle (every season from 5 onwards has them). i'm very partial to thanksgiving past and present from s11 (that's what the caps from last night are from), the holiday battle where the secret ingredient is alton brown's fruitcake (9.21 holiday battle), the thanksgiving episode where the theme is leftovers (10.27) and the holiday episode where ted allen and robert irvine show up (10.28).
i think this is a good place to start! season 13 is a reboot season and i like all those episodes as well (especially bc they heavily feature my two wives alex g and stephanie) but i'd start with the OG episodes first.
and now, with an open heart.... and an empty stomach..... i say unto you in the words of my uncle........

We can only imagine what’s going through The Apex’s minds right now. Watching that betrayal from backstage, and now coming out here to try and stand united, after all the issues they’ve had. It’s a tall task, but shattering expectations have fueled The Apex since day one. They stand across the ring from a bonafide star, AEW International Champion, Orange Cassidy, a man who holds two recent victories over, joined by two unproven talents with a lot of ring rust. Every side has something to prove, and we’re starting off with Bayley and Alice!
Circling each other, Alice is thrown off guard as Rhea suddenly pulls Orange down off the apron, and Bayley kicks her in the stomach, wrapping her up in a headlock. Marcella tries to fight out, but Bayley snaps them to the mat with a transfer. Bayley grinding down on Alice’s head, squeezing it. Alice rolls them over a bit, giving herself room to lift into a handstand, and escapes from the headlock! Bayley stares on in shock as Alice hand-walks back, Bayley getting to her own feet when Alice hits a backflip, twists, and pops Bayley with an elbow! Bayley stumbles to the ropes, and Alice whips her. Leapfrogging over, dropping down, and Alice connects with a dropkick on the rebound! She locks her fibers with Bayley’s, slaps her on the chest, and walks up the ropes, connecting with a wristlock arm drag! Bayley flips back to her feet, stumbles, but catches Alice with a facebuster knee smash. Alice pops back up and wobbles, and Bayley throws her out of the ring - but Alice grabs on at the last second! She swings herself through the ropes, lands on her feet, and flips Bayley inside out with a clothesline! After flipping her opponent inside out, Alice drops into a cartwheel, crushing Bayley with a standing Moonsault! Alice covers!
1… 2…. Kickout!
Tagging in Kylie, Alice has Bayley pinned in the corner. Kylie charges, nailing a running European uppercut. Bayley stumbles out of the corner as Alice jumps of the ropes, grabs Bayley, and spikes her with a satellite DDT! Alice jumps out to the apron as Kylie covers!
1… 2… Broken up!
Rhea knocks Alice to the floor as Toni throws Kylie out. Both she and Bayley run the ropes, wiping out their opponents with suicide dives! Toni throws Kylie back inside the ring and plants her with a body slam. Kylie sits up, holding her back, as Rhea runs the ropes, nailing her with a boot! Bayley runs the ropes behind her, nailing Kylie with a sliding clothesline, and hooking her in for the cover!
1… 2… Kickout!
Bayley swings and misses, Kylie rolls under and tags in Orange! Orange hops into the ring and hits a kick to Rhea’s leg, before lighting her up with multiple chops. Snapmare by Orange, and he nails Rhea with a kick to the spine! Orange gets Rhea up, but Ripley elbows him off. She hits a backbreaker, stretching Orange over her knee. She throws him aside and dusts her shoulder off, as Orange tags in Alice. Alice springboards into the ring, but Rhea catches her! She throws Alice up, holding her in a military press, before dumping her on the mat. Rhea mocks her some more before tagging in Toni. Storm waltzes into the ring and eats a kick from Alice. A chop, elbows from Marcella before she whips Storm into the corner. She charges in, hitting an uppercut! She rolls, putting space between them before charging Storm, and dropping her with a huge dropkick! Alice goes for the cover!
1… 2… Kickout!
Storm tags in Bayley, who puts Kylie on the ropes, choking her out with it. She has until the count of five to let go, and doesz before nailing Alice with a stunner between the ropes. She gets back in and tags in Toni, who she assists in hitting a body slam. Toni leans against the ropes, posing for the invisible camera in her head - when Alice comes from left field with a Huge running knee against the ropes! Rae tagged in, and Kylie flips Toni through the arm and cradle, but instead of hitting a Superkick, Alice hits a shining wizard! Marcela jumps back to the apron as Kylie gets Toni up - but she reverses her powerbomb into an Air raid Crash Neckbreaker! Storm makes the tag to Bayley, who comes in and nails Kylie with a dropkick. Putting Rae in the corner, Bayley hits a running shoulder thrust, before putting Kylie in a tree of woe. Bayley gives her the thumbs down before piercing her chest with an elbow drop! Bayley covers!
1… 2… Kickout!
Tags made to Ripley and Cassidy. This time Cassidy comes in cooler, not quite cautious, before tapping Rhea with his foot. With the speed and velocity of this kicks it sure is a wonder how Rhea can even be standing, until she snaps off a huge headbutt. She scoops Cassidy up, going for a delayed vertical suplex - but Orange reverses into the Stun Dog Millionaire! Rhea pops up, wobbling on her feet, but still grabs Orange, planting him with a huge German suplex! Rhea takes a moment to compose herself before stomping on Orange, calling in the rest of The Apex for help - but Kylie blasts Rhea with a front dropkick! Storm slips behind, and tosses her with a release German suplex! Orange pops up, Canadian Deatroyer on Toni! Toni gets dropped on her head, bounces up and out of the ring, when Orange gets tossed by an exploder suplex. Alice charges, and plants Bayley with a HUGE Dragon Twist Cutter! With both Bayley and Toni somehow up, Orange tries to toss them both with a double hurricanrana, but they hold on, swinging Orange into a low dropkick from Rhea!
Kylie and Alice are cleared out of the ring as Cassidy gets put in a cazadora on Ripley. Storm nails him with a lungblower, holding on s Bayley comes crashing down with an elbow to the spine! That could be it for Cassidy, cover!
1… 2… Broken up!
Kylie makes the save!
Meanwhile, Alice tosses Bayley and Toni out of the ring. Rae has Rhea in a waistlock, and Alice helps her out with a Superkick, aiding Kylie in delivering a German suplex! Cassidy gets back up, and plants Rhea with the Beach Break! Cover!
1… 2… Broken up!
Both Bayley And Toni break that up, shoving their opponents onto the cover to save it. Bayley grabs Toni, helping her up, before they grab Rhea - but Rhea shoves her! “Dude, what the hell?!” Rhea just shakes her head, holding her neck as she backs up. “Don’t be like this. Not tonight -” “I’ll do whatever the hell I want,” Rhea snaps back. And they’re fighting, again, right in the middle of a match! Great!
Eventually Toni has enough and starts snapping. “Stop your bickering, you’re acting like children!” Toni says, in her very elegant manner, but Rhea’s heard enough. “Fuck you,” Rhea points at Toni, “fuck you,” at Bayley, “and fuck all of this. Do this by yourself.”
Whoa, whoa, where’s Rhea going?!
Bayley and Toni try to stop her, but it seems this match has just become a handicap match!
Or at least, what’s left of this match, as Bayley just ate a MASSIVE Orange Punch! She falls to the side as Toni swings on Cassidy, knocking him down and beating him down. Storm runs the ropes, going for her patented hip attack - but Cassidy moves! Toni’s able to hit the ropes, and ricochets into a HUGE running headbutt from Alice! The top of her head collides right into Toni’s jaw, and she could be out! Orange covers!
1… 2… Broken up!
Bayley throws herself on top of Cassidy to break up the cover, saving the match for what remains of her team! Bayley grabs Alice and kicks her outside of the ring, going out there to beat her up herself. Meanwhile, Orange tags out to Kylie. Kylie tries to surprise Bayley, but gets thrown into the corner and beat down. Kylie fights Bayley off for a moment, but a cheap shot from Toni lets Bayley plant her with a Bayley to Belly! Toni dives into the cover, they might have stolen it here!
1… 2… Broken up!
Back on their feet, Bayley has Kylie by the wrist and pulls her towards The Apex’s corner, but Kylie holds on. She yanks Bayley back, rolls her up, and nails her with the Kylie Special! Rae makes some space for herself, but before she sn even look at her team’s corner, Toni knocks Orange to the floor, and Bayley knocks down Alice! Tag to Toni, but Kylie jumps on her back, trying to lock in a Choke, but Bayley breaks it up. Kylie grabs her, planting her with a German suplex, and getting Bayley out of the ring! Kylie tosses Toni into the corner and nails her with a big running uppercut, picking up more steam, and flattening her with a cannonball!
Kylie goes to the top rope, flies at Toni - but gets caught by a huge boot to the face! Toni kicks Kylie into the corner before marching across the ring. A shade of black and white as Toni poses for the camera, deranged as ever, before CRUSHING Kylie with the hip attack! Toni can win it here, cover!
1… 2… Kickout!
Back on their feet, Kylie swings at Toni and misses, and Toni slams her to the ground. She lifts Kylie up for Storm Zero, but Kylie reverses into an arm and cradle, pops up into a Superkick, connecting with another Kylie Special! She tags out to Orange Cassidy, who comes in hot, drilling Toni with a satellite DDT! Toni flops and gets tagged out by Bayley. She comes in and ducks under Orange, knocking Alice off the apron - but whips around into another HUGE Orange Punch! Bayley gets her clock cleaned -
When Orange gets scooped up by RHEA RIPLEY?!
RIPTIDE!!!
BAYLEY DIVES INTO THE COVER. THE APEX STOLE IT.
1…
2…
KICKOUT!
ORANGE KICKS OUT OF THE RIPTIDE.
The Apex created a diversion by faking an argument - but then, you have to wonder how much of their issues have been real?! was it all a setup?! - to spring their ultimate trap, but it wasn’t enough to keep Orange Cassidy down for the three count. And now, they have no idea what the hell to do.
Panicked, shock faces fill the ring, and Bayley tries to take charge, trying to direct traffic, but there seems to be some disagreement on where they go from here. Rhea demands another chance at the Riptide, let her stack him up his time, but Toni points out that it didn’t work the first time, they should try something else. Bayley nods in agreement. “Yeah, of course you’d agree with that. Always gotta go with your favorites, right? How well did that work out with Io?” Bayley clenches her fist, “That wasn’t my fault. Maybe if you weren’t so God damn hostile all the time, people would want to actually hang out with us!”
“ENOUGH!” Toni shouts, “I’ve got this!” Toni matches up to Orange - and gets caught in the Mouse Trap! Rhea and Bayley are pulled out of the ring, Kylie and Alice holding them back!
1… 2… 3!
“Here are your winners, Kylie Rae, Alice Marcella, and the AEW International Champion, Orange Cassidy!”
Well, holy shit! They snuck out with an unexpected, but earned victory tonight!
Toni sits up, looking dejected and, as is commonplace, on the verge of a breakdown, as Rhea slides into the ring. Rhea sits her up, looking sad for a moment, as Bayley stands out on the apron, looking at them both. She slowly enters the ring, sharing the same solemn expression. Our victors vacate the area as Bayley walks up to her friends…
And kicks Rhea right in the face!
Bayley jumps on her, beating Rhea down! Toni isn’t sure what to do at first, but eventually tries to grab Bayley, only for Bayley to turn it around, beating down Toni instead!
Bayley chases Toni out of the ring, and right into the arms of Lutha, who hastily carries her back to the ring - but without one of her shoes, as Toni throws it right at Bayley!
Bayley avoids the shoe, watching Toni retreat with a snarl, before going back in after Rhea. Rhea’s started to sit up, glaring back at Bayley, and they go after one another. Security and referees are coming out to separate these two, pulling them apart and trying to get them to the back so our show can go on! What a start to Night 2!

Sanremo 2021
Hello everyone! Here you’ll find this year’s Sanremo’s stuff and news (I’ll be uploading this post through all the week). The Festival, that this year will see no public in the theater, will start on tuesday March 2nd at 8:30 pm (it’ll probably have a 5 minutes “anteprima = preview” every night), and end on saturday March 6th, when the final will be broadcasted.

Rai’s website dedicated section (here) | youtube playlist
A few minutes show about Sanremo has been broadcasted from saturday February 27th at 8:30 PM to monday March 1st, with interviews and random curiosities (here - PrimaFestival section right below the host Amadeus’ photo. this year it willbe hosted by Giovanna Civitillo -host, dancer, Amadeus’ wife-, Valeria Graci -host/comedian-, Giovanni Vernia -host, comedian-)
I’m not sure if or where the usual Dopofestival, with the analysis of the show at the end of each night, will be broadcasted (here you can find last year program L’Altro Festival)
CasaSanremo- A website about Sanremo and all the artists who will take part, with more infos and interviews (also Italian places and food specialties will be shown). Follow them also on their Social Media Channels, usually they make live video/interviews/shows on FB for example.

——-
Hosts & Guests + Other Stuff
This years’ host will be Amadeus (who choose the songs taking part into this Sanremo), a TV and radio host. He will be accompanied by Fiorello, another famous Italian host, and probably, as last year, by a different co-host woman each night: Matilda De Angelis (actress, 1st night), Elodie (singer, 2nd night), Vittoria Ceretti (model, 3rd night), Barbara Palombelli (host/writer, 4th night). On saturday, there might be different co-hosts women. Each night, Achille Lauro (singer, last year Sanremo partecipant) will go on stage and perform. Also the football player Zlatan Ibrahimovic (one night accompanied by coach and former football player Sinisa Mihailovic) will be there every night or so. Some of the one-night guests might be the singers Negramaro, Alessandra Amoroso, Il Volo (on wednesday’s night, they will honor Ennio Morricone), Loredana Bertè, Mahmood (friday’s night), Ornella Vanoni and Francesco Gabbani’s duet (on saturday); sport champions as Alex Schwazer (walker, who will tell his story - he’s been wrongly accused of doping) and Alberto Tomba + Federica Pellegrini (former sky champion and actual swimming champion, on saturday’s night will promote the 2026 Winter OG taking place in Milano and Cortina).
How it works
There will be 26 singers in the Campioni (champs) section and 8 in the Giovani (young/newbies) section. The winner of the competition of the Campioni section will represent Italy at the Eurovision Song Contest: if he/she/them won’t accept, the choice will be another artist, usually the 2nd classified. On the 3rd night, there will be the usual duets night. The Campioni’s singers will perform (with another Italian or foreign artist) a song from the Italian folk/song writer’s collection. As last year, the rank at the end of the 3rd night, will change also the rank after the 2 first nights (votes will be added to the general rank).
Day 1 - co-hosts: Matilda De Angelis, Fiorello. Guests: Achille Lauro, Zlatan Ibrahimović, Loredana Bertè, Alessia Bonari (nurse), Italian Police Marching Band with the saxophonist Stefano Di Battista, Russian gymnast Olg’a Kapranova We’ll listen to 13 Campioni’s songs (in order of performance: Arisa, Colapesce e Di Martino, Aiello, Francesca Michielin e Fedez, Max Gazzè, Irama, Madame, Maneskin, Ghemon, Coma_Cose, Annalisa, Francesco Renga, Fasma) and 4 Giovani’s (Gaudiano, Elena Faggi, Avincola, Folcast). The first two Giovani’s songs classified (Folcast, Gaudiano) will pass to friday’s night’s final. We have a first rank of the 13 Campioni who performed tonight:
Day 2 - co-hosts: Elodie, Fiorello Prob. guests: singers: Achille Lauro, Laura Pausini, Il Volo, Gigliola Cinquetti, Marcella Bella, Fausto Leali, Enzo Avitabile (saxophonist) and Alex Schwazer (walker). We’ll have another rank of the 13 Campioni who performed tonight, and then one with all the 26 contestants (a mix with day 1′s rank).
**Irama will not take part because of Covid positivity among his staff (he’s negative but he has to be quarantined anyway). Amadeus decided to show the recorded clip of his performance.

Vice President Kamala Harris on Wednesday hosted a virtual gathering of celebrities and influencers for a discussion on how best to reach the public with information about the COVID-19 vaccine.
The guest list included Camila Cabello, Kim Kardashian, Joe Jonas, model Karlie Kloss (who is married to Joshua Kushner, the brother of Jared Kushner), Lily Collins, Queer Eye fashion expert Tan France, and others. Kris Jenner, though not on the invite list, also made an appearance, according to a White House official.
Harris was joined by Dr. Marcella Nunez Smith, senior advisor to the administration's COVID-19 response team, for the event.
"I wanted to come together with you this afternoon to talk about where we are in terms of how we are dealing with the pandemic and I'm going to have some asks of you at the end," Harris, 56, said to kick off the event.
Kim Kardashian was the first to ask a question of the vice president, according to the White House, and was curious if you still need a vaccine if you have COVID antibodies. (People who have had COVID should still get vaccinated, but if they tested positive in the last 90 days, they should talk to their doctor about timing.)
Actress Lily Collins asked Harris about how best to facilitate and spread info about getting the vaccine.
Tan France asked Harris how she talked to the young people in her life about being vaccinated — not as the vice president, but as a stepmom and family member. France said he hoped to use that advice to speak to the young people in his own life.
Though the virtual event was closed to the press and general public, the White House told PEOPLE that those in attendance were able to "candidly discuss" how they could "build vaccine confidence, specifically for 18 to 29 year-old Americans."
That particular age group currently has one of the lowest vaccination rates in the country.
The Biden administration is focused on increasing access through walk-in appointments at pharmacies and "on boosting confidence, and that's by spreading the word that the vaccine is safe," Harris said at the event. "There's still work that we need to do and I'm asking for your help to do it."
According to the official, Harris hoped to use the event on Wednesday to ask celebrities with broad and diverse audiences, particularly among young Americans, to amplify the message that every American should be vaccinated.
The vice president has in recent months been championing the COVID-19 public education campaign from the White House.
Harris got her first dose of the Moderna vaccine at Washington, D.C.'s United Medical Center in December, receiving her shot on live television weeks before taking office.
"That was easy," Harris said after receiving her shot. "Thank you. I barely felt it."
In remarks given to the press gathered at the medical center, Harris said she wanted to encourage everyone to get vaccinated.
"It is relatively painless, it happens really quickly, it is safe," Harris said.
She continued: "Literally, this is about saving lives. It's about saving lives. I trust the scientists. And it is the scientists who created and approved this vaccine. So I urge everyone: When it is your turn, get vaccinated. It's about saving your life, the life of your family members, and the life of your community."
She and her husband, Doug Emhoff, received their second doses of the vaccine in January, with the vice president again using the opportunity to urge others to get their shots.
Earlier this week, the administration announced that ride-sharing services Uber and Lyft will offer free rides to vaccination sites until July 4 as part of a new White House partnership, As part of Biden's goal to vaccinate 70% of U.S. adults with at least one shot by Independence Day.
According to a USA Today tracker, roughly 46% of U.S. adults have been at least partially vaccinated against coronavirus.

Judith Jones was born on March 10, 1924. She was an American writer and editor, best known for having rescued The Diary of Anne Frank from the reject pile. Jones also championed Julia Child's Mastering the Art of French Cooking. She retired as senior editor and vice president at Alfred A. Knopf in 2011. Jones was also a cookbook author and memoirist. She won multiple lifetime achievement awards, including the James Beard Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award in 2006.
Jones joined Knopf in 1957 as an assistant to Blanche Knopf and editor working mainly on translations of French writers such as Albert Camus and Jean-Paul Sartre. Before that she worked for Doubleday, first in New York City and then in Paris, where she read and recommended The Diary of Anne Frank, pulling it out of the rejection pile. Jones recalled that she came across Frank's work in a slush pile of material that had been rejected by other publishers; she was struck by a photograph of the girl on the cover of an advance copy of the French edition. "I read it all day," she noted. "When my boss returned, I told him, 'We have to publish this book.' He said, 'What? That book by that kid?'" She brought the diary to the attention of Doubleday's New York office. "I made the book quite important because I was so taken with it, and I felt it would have a real market in America. It’s one of those seminal books that will never be forgotten," Jones said.
Jones's relationship with Julia Child similarly began when Jones became interested in Child's manuscript Mastering the Art of French Cooking, which had been rejected by a publishing house. After her years in Paris, Jones had moved to New York, where she was frustrated with the ingredients and recipes commonly available in the U.S. Jones said of the book Mastering the Art of French Cooking, "This was the book I had been searching for," and she got it published. In America's postwar years, home cooking was dominated by packaged and frozen food, with an emphasis on ease and speed.
After the success of Child's cookbook, Jones continued to expand the resource options for American home cooks. "I got so excited by Julia's book and what it did for making people better cooks, and the tools that you needed to make it really work in an American city or small town, and I thought, If we could do this for French food, for heavens' sake, let's start doing it for other exotic cuisines!" Jones recalled. "I used the word "exotic," and that meant the Middle East with Claudia Roden, it meant better Indian cooking with Madhur Jaffrey."
After working with Edna Lewis on The Taste of Country Cooking, Jones focused more on American regional cooking.
Major culinary authors Jones brought into print include Julia Child, Lidia Bastianich, James Beard, Marion Cunningham, Rosie Daley, Edward Giobbi, Marcella Hazan, Madhur Jaffrey, Irene Kuo, Edna Lewis, Joan Nathan, Scott Peacock, Jacques Pépin, Claudia Roden, and Nina Simonds. The 18-book Knopf Cooks American series was Jones' creation.
Jones was also the longtime editor of noted authors John Updike, Anne Tyler, John Hersey, Elizabeth Bowen, Peter Taylor, and William Maxwell. Other major authors whom Jones edited include Langston Hughes, Albert Camus, and Jean-Paul Sartre.
Jones wrote three books with her husband Evan, and wrote three on her own since his death: one on cooking for one person; a memoir of her life and food; and a cookbook for food that can be shared with dogs.
Jones contributed to Vogue, Saveur, Bon Appétit, Departures, and Gourmet magazines. In 2006, she was awarded the James Beard Foundation Lifetime Achievement Award.
She was portrayed by American actress Erin Dilly in the 2009 film, Julie & Julia.
“Learning to like cooking alone is an ongoing process. But the alternative is worse.”
"For a long time, the women — and they were usually women — who wrote about food were treated as second-class citizens. All because they cook! I think that's opened up. A good writer gets some good assignments, and they're treated better somehow. It just takes time."

I know I already posted Elrevas, but... Listen... I needed to draw him w/the leading ladies before him.
Consequently, pale asshole Marcella is sandwiched between two freckled, red-headed optimists and it cracks me up.
