Propaganda and summaries:
Monster: It is THE ultimate thriller. A doctor who makes a choice to save a little boy whose family fled East Germany, and his entire life comes crumbling down as the ramifications of that single choice echo across the entire country. And it's up to him to fix it, even if it kills him. It has everything! Murder, suspense, conspiracies, amnesia, trauma, corruption, and yet, despite everything, Dr. Tenma does everything he can to hold onto his humanity. If y'all haven't checked out this masterpiece, you need to.
Hako: Between August and October, 1952, a series of unusual crimes takes place in Musashino and Mitaka: the attempted murder of 14-year-old Kanako Yuzuki, Kanako's abduction from the strange research "hospital" where she was recovering, then abductions of other girls, followed by their severed limbs in custom-fitted boxes being placed in surrounding towns. News editor Morihiko Toriguchi and crime fiction writer Tatsumi Sekiguchi investigate with the help of onmyōji Akihiko Chūzenji. Meanwhile, Tōkyō police detective Shutaro Kiba searches for Kanako, despite Kanagawa police having jurisdiction; and the lawyer for the estate of Kanako's grandfather hires private investigator Reijiro Enokizu to find Kanako, as well. Their investigation uncovers bizarre truths and dark family secrets along the way.

When we arrived at lake Chūzenji it looked like any other lake. But when we came back from the waterfall the sun was setting and the clouds were setting too, and together they created this unique and unsettling scenery like none I had seen before.
We almost missed the bus back to Tokyo since we couldn't find the bus stop.
November 2018.

The art of Japanese woodblock prints continued into the 20th century. Kasamatsu initially worked for the same woodblock print publisher as Hasui before he started working independently. The waterfall in this image is one of Japan's highest at 97 meters (318 ft.) and is one of Japan's notable scenic locations. It lies within a national park and larger cultural area near Lake Chūzenji (central Japan). The waterfall drops over basalt rock formations, believed to be the hardened lava of volcanic eruptions that occurred nearby.

Summaries;

New World: Following a sudden outbreak of psychokinesis in 0.1% of the population, a rapid transformation swept the world. The godlike ability to manipulate matter remotely turned many power wielders to violence, inciting a long period of upheaval. Finally, after a chaotic era shaped by the rise and fall of oppressive regimes, the psychic humans were able to achieve a fragile peace by isolating their society, creating a new world bound by complex rules.
In the town of Kamisu 66, 12-year-old Saki Watanabe has just awakened to her powers and is relieved to rejoin her friends—the mischievous Satoru Asahina, the shy Mamoru Itou, the cheerful Maria Akizuki, and Shun Aonuma, a mysterious boy whom Saki admires—at Sage Academy, a special school for psychics. However, unease looms as Saki begins to question the fate of those unable to awaken to their powers, and the children begin to get involved with secretive matters such as the rumored Tainted Cats said to abduct children.
Shinsekai yori tells the unique coming-of-age story of Saki and her friends as they journey to grow into their roles in the supposed utopia. Accepting these roles, however, might not come easy when faced with the dark and shocking truths of society, and the impending havoc born from the new world.

Yesterday I did a day trip to Nikko! Though I spent more time at Ryuzu falls and Lake Chūzenji then actually in Nikko. It was very beautiful! There is a nice hiking trail there, lots of school kids yelled hello to me and I got to have a conversation with a Japanese man who is learning English. I am now randomly in is photos so he can show his class and American teacher hahaha
