Do you know the pannel/chapter Rei says she doesn't want more kids? I haven't been able to find it and lately I had seen people insistent that Rei did want Shouto and Natsuo, so I don't know what to think anymore.

Ch 301:

Rei: No... That would be much to cruel! Especially now that Toya knows what you are hoping to achieve through the children!

Endeavor: blabla new burns every day, that's the only way to make him give up. Since he'll never be the one to surpass All Might. [Crazy eyes]

Natsuo is born. Touya is devastated.

Basically, the gist of it is that Rei knew that this would destroy Touya psychologically and tried arguing against it. Endeavor used the "this is to protect Touya" card, but also the framing makes it clear that it is just an excuse. Enji is not thinking about Touya, he's thinking about All Might.

And Rei in the end is not in a position to refuse. She agreed to a quirk marriage, she knew full well what Enji was after and she has zero power in this relationship.

I find Shouto's birth one of the saddest panels in the manga. His father looks at him with crazy greed, his mother is sad and Touya is broken. The lines between them show that the family is truly broken by this event.

ok near the end/at the end of the skypeia arc, I enjoyed the alabasta arc a bit more but this arc definitely came in with the interesting world/history lore. So we have crazy ancient weapons, some sort of lost history with parts of that history sprinkled over different islands on the grand line... gol d roger is some how connected to all of this...

Yea man I'm not sure where we going w this lol... Anyway arc started off a lil slow for me but I enjoyed the conclusion. On to the next arc!

Haikyuu!! Ch. 301

If I'm not mistaken, quite some time happened between this page and the last. Haikyuu-In-Color had gone into a hiatus and I had switch to working mostly on Clip Studio Paint. I also was working on this page along with another.

Knowing these two were most likely the last pages I would work on, I tried to merge my two shading styles together: cel shading with art markers. That's why its not as smoothly shaded as my last couple pages. It's a lot more simple, but I think I could've done better.

It’s weird how we got the class comforting uraraka and midoriya when they’re crying on the cliff and even bakugo got a crying reaction and was comforted, but we don’t get any comfort for todoroki who’s whole family suffered and who’s had the most unfair outlook for his career just because who his family is.

The closest we got to him crying and getting comforted is with his time with Iida during his fights, but we never see a full on breakdown like those three had.

Yeah, the biggest breakdown he was allowed was on the battlefield in Ch 291 - during the first shock, and even then he's immediately shown to be throwing himself between Touya and the rest of the battlefield to quite literally shield everyone.

I think there are a couple of reasons:

another example of Hori not being able to handle his own set-up and also not having the spine to go against cultural biases like what exists in Japan for families of villains being shamed / held accountable for criminal relatives (From this insightful meta) and showing any self-centered emotions in that context would be seen selfish.

2. Propping up Enji's atonement. Hori's way of writing redemption arcs sadly is more or less pretending that there is no lasting harm to the victim. People would have a hard time getting behind Enji's change / atonement if at the same time, we'd see Shouto's suffering lasting well into his 20s for a situation he's completely blameless in. So it's easier to pretend that the pain doesn't exist, and rather go back to Hori's preferred talking point - that people who change deserve support.

3. I think also while he does use Iida to make the point "why is this your burden to bear" - there are repeated scenes of Shouto himself, All Might and pretty much everyone in society agreeing that it's somehow Shouto's duty to take responsibility for Touya all the way to Ch 431 - so a decade later. And I guess the support he got from Class A is depicted in small panels, between the lines, where we see that Shouto feels safe enough with Class A to talk about grieving Touya which I suppose would have to be kept private.

So I think the difference is that in the case of Uraraka, she's the heroine, so there is a big amount of gender stereotype of letting her break down, but I guess Hori feels comfortable to let her cry, because she's crying about someone she's not directly responsible for.

While in Shouto's case, because of the cultural biases, Hori doesn't dare to come out and say something bold like the family's of villains shouldn't be blamed indiscriminately. Rather, in Ch 301-302, he tried to spread the responsibility to everyone in the family for Touya, and rather than saying it's nonsense to blame the kids, he tries to frame it as a "heroic choice to fulfill duty against a cruel fate".

House fire in Dunmere kills three sisters

On the night of the first of August emergency services were alerted about a fire at the Archeron estate, Dove Lane 301. Three sisters died in the fire. Nesta Archeron (18), Elain Archeron (17) and Feyre Archeron (15). Experts say that the sisters must have already been dead at the time help arrived as only remains were found to identify the three young women.

The source of the fire is still being investigated but the police already released a statement that the fire estimatedly is not suspicious.

A tragedy hits the Archeron’s again as first the father of the three sisters, Conrad Archeron (45) has been arrested for various financial crime in May and the mother, Mary Archeron (41) has died of a stroke only three days prior to this accident.

December 21st

I'm worried about Feyre Clare. We thought we just had to give her time to adjust but she has lost a lot of weight in the past three months because she barely eats and the dark circles under her eyes tell me she barely sleeps, too. She goes to work, at the restaurant down the road, comes home and locks herself in her room. Elain Daisy told me she heard Clare crying a few days ago while I was away tutoring.

Daisy even made Clare her favorite cake for her birthday today but she only picked at it before locking herself in her room again.

I am thankful for Rhy Clare’s friend, that he helped us to safety but I could throttle that man for breaking my sister's heart.

January 18th

I've been working today, helping a lovely, elderly woman with her garden and when I walked home I saw Clare through a window sitting in a Café. She didn't look happy but for once she didn't look devastated, either and she was eating something. I couldn't get a good look at what she was eating, it looked like a crossaint, but at least she was eating something.

I really hope she's recovering from the heartbreak she went through. I know first hand how badly heartbreak hurts after Grayson, I'll be there if Clare wants to talk.

Maybe she'll even eat dinner with us tonight!

Nesta Mara never was the best at expressing feelings or affection, thanks to our mother, but the past months she really tried with Clare. Getting her favorite meal when we could afford it, watching her favorite movie or even putting on her favorite artist while eating.

Clare has shown very little reaction, I'm not even sure she recognized all these little acts of kindness.

First we thought Clare was in shock but since we stepped into the train, she's been nothing but a shell of her old self.

Neither Mara nor me have realized how much we missed Clare’s antics until they were gone.
