Workers have the right to equal pay for equal work under the Contract Labour Act and Rules. In the writ of Jagjit Singh vs State of Punjab, in the context of electricity workers of Punjab and Haryana, the Supreme Court in its decision given on 26 October 2016 clearly stated that no person voluntarily works as a contract worker at very low wages. He pays the price of his self-respect, dignity, self-worth and integrity for the food, clothing and shelter of his family. The Supreme Court says that in any welfare state, workers doing equal work cannot be given less wages at all. The decision said that undoubtedly giving less wages for equal work is an act of exploitation, enslavement and oppression. The Central Government has abolished the provision of equal pay for equal work in the Labor Code.

What do you think will be the major hurdles and challenges for Modi 3.0
Tumblr media
As Narendra Modi potentially heads into a third term as Prime Minister of India, his administration will face several major hurdles and challenges. These challenges span across economic, social, political, and international spheres, reflecting both the complex nature of governing a diverse and populous nation like India and the specific conditions and dynamics of Modi's leadership style and policy priorities.
1. Economic Growth and Employment: One of the foremost challenges will be to sustain and enhance economic growth. While India has seen robust growth rates, there have been concerns about the sustainability of this growth in the face of global economic headwinds, such as trade tensions, supply chain disruptions, and geopolitical instability. Additionally, job creation remains a critical issue.
2. Inflation and Cost of Living: Inflation has been a persistent problem, particularly with rising prices for essential commodities such as food and fuel. Managing inflation while ensuring that the cost of living remains affordable for the average citizen will be a delicate balancing act.
3. Social Cohesion and Polarization: Social cohesion is another critical area where Modi's administration faces challenges. India’s vast diversity in terms of religion, caste, language, and culture requires policies that promote inclusion and harmony. However, under Modi's leadership, there has been an increase in social polarization, particularly along religious lines.
4. Environmental Sustainability: Environmental issues, including pollution, water scarcity, and climate change, pose significant long-term challenges. India faces severe air and water pollution problems in many of its cities and towns. Moreover, climate change impacts, such as more frequent and severe weather events, threaten agricultural productivity and livelihoods.
5. Federalism and State Relations: India’s federal structure means that the central government must work effectively with state governments. However, there has been tension between the central government and various states, particularly those governed by opposition parties. These tensions can hinder the implementation of national policies and programs
6. Managing China and Pakistan Relations: On the international front, managing relations with China and Pakistan will remain a significant challenge. Tensions with China, particularly over border disputes, and the volatile relationship with Pakistan require deft diplomatic strategies to avoid escalation and promote stability in the region.
Conclusion
Navigating these challenges will require Narendra Modi's administration to adopt a multifaceted and nuanced approach. Policies must be inclusive, forward-thinking, and adaptive to changing global and domestic landscapes. Ensuring economic stability, social harmony, environmental sustainability, strong governance, and strategic international relations will be crucial for the success of Modi 3.0.

Center's key decision removal of 70 lakh mobile numbers Repoted News..
Tumblr media
The central government has taken a crucial decision. 70 lakh mobile numbers have been deleted across the country. Financial Services Secretary Vivek Joshi said that suspicious numbers have been suspended to prevent digital fraud. Regarding Aadhaar Enabled Payment System (AEPS) frauds, he said states have been asked to look into the issue and ensure data protection. Joshi expressed the opinion that there should be an increase in the awareness of cyber frauds in the society. On the other hand, it is known that digital frauds have taken place in public sector UCO Bank and Bank of Baroda (BOB) recently. Rs.820 crores were mistakenly transferred from UCO Bank to the accounts of the clients through IMPS, but the bank accounts were immediately identified and blocked and Rs.649 crores were recovered. But it is noteworthy that the bank has not yet given an explanation on how this happened. In this background, the Center has put special focus on suspicious financial transactions.

Prime Minister to Embark on Nationwide Outreach Campaign
Mumbai, India – Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-month nationwide outreach campaign, the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, beginning on November 15, 2023. The yatra will focus on showcasing the achievements of the Central Government and creating awareness about various welfare schemes.
The yatra will commence on Birsa Munda Jayanti, celebrated as Janjatiya Gaurav Diwas, in Jharkhand's Khunti district. Prime Minister Modi will flag off IEC (Information, Education, and Communication) vans during the event. Over 2,500 such vans will cover 2.5 lakh gram panchayats and 3,700 urban local bodies across the country.
The primary objective of the yatra is to engage with people directly, particularly in tribal areas, and provide them with information about various government initiatives, including sanitation, financial services, electricity connections, LPG access, housing, food security, nutrition, healthcare, and clean drinking water.
The government also plans to enroll potential beneficiaries through details ascertained during the yatra.
Yatra Postponed in Poll-Bound States
The yatra was initially planned to cover all states, but it has been postponed in five poll-bound states – Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Telangana, Rajasthan, and Mizoram – until after the elections. The decision was taken to avoid any potential misuse of the yatra for political purposes.
Positive Impact Expected
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of millions of Indians. By creating awareness about government schemes and initiatives, the yatra can help empower people and improve their access to essential services.
The yatra is also an opportunity for the government to connect with people at the grassroots level and understand their needs and concerns. This feedback can be used to further improve government programs and policies.
