80vac Hangout & Coffee Shop Recommendations
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
1. Kura Cafe - General Trias, Cavite
Usual hangout spot namin ng friends ko. Malaki yung place. Di pricey yung drinks. Sa foods and pastry so far lahat ng triny ko sa menu nila masarap. I recommend their creamy carbonara. May free wifi voucher upon ordering. Open 24 hours.
2. rocafé - Dasmariñas City, Cavite
Mini coffee shop. Perfect for small groups and solo goers. Friendly lahat ng staff pati owner. They also ask you if you'd want to customize your drinks according to your preferences. Open til 10pm.
3. Cake's Coffee - Amadeo, Cavite
Maluwag yung al fresco nila pero maliit parking but you can park along the road din naman. Yung cheesecake and pastries daw sikat dito pero di ko pa nasubukan kasi di ako mahilig sa cheesecake, kape lang ako kasi you know Amadeo. Open til 7pm on weekdays and 9pm on weekends.
4. The Coffee Bar - Imus, Cavite
Tabi ng gas station. Usual stopover namin ng friends ko pag papunta or pabalik from Imus.
6. Yaletown Café - Tagaytay City, Cavite
Another perfect hangout spot lalo na sa balcony. Masarap yung coffee and choco baterol. Medyo pricey pero classy kasi yung place so parang justified naman tska among coffee shops in Tagaytay di siya crowded so di maingay. Open til 4am.
7. KOPA KOPPI CAFE - Tagaytay City, Cavite
Another perfect spot if you want to have coffee tapos may view ng Taal Lake. Di rin pricey yung menu and malawak yung place. Open 24 hours.
8. Tinatangi Cafe - Dasmariñas City, Cavite
Malawak yung place. May parang tree house pa. Ganda dito kaso andami lagi ng tao. Pati yung lighting nila ang ganda. Try niyo nalang puntahan. Open til 12mn.
9. Cafe 10/23 - Imus, Cavite
Ito perfect for big groups. Malaki yung place tapos maganda. Pwede rin ata for events tong place.
Open til 8pm on weekdays and 10pm on weekends.
11. Kaffe Belardo - Amadeo, Cavite
Ganda rin dito since 2010 pa sila pero hanggang ngayon sikat pa din dito. Sarap ng coffee and cakes. Open til 6pm.
12. Vermosa - Imus, Cavite
Ito hangout place talaga. Pili nalang kayo ng preferred niyong coffee. May Starbucks, The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, masarap din yung iced mocha sa Burger King or coffee sa Mcdo.
13. Lamuan Shell Acienda - Silang, Cavite
Ito lang hangout place namin sa Silang. Pumupunta kami dito pag madami kaming may dalang kotse. Tapos ayun pwede uminom ng drinks and coffee kasi may Shell Select convenience store.
Mga di ko pa napuntahan pero maganda and masarap rin daw.
1. Hound Coffee and Studio - Imus, Cavite
2. Cafe Agapita - Silang, Cavite

Depending on how much "real sCiEnCy" you want it to be, it could be a normal anime teleport, or it could be that wherever she just left leaves behind a vacuum, which collapses on itself immediately similarly to cavitation bubbles, releasing a shock wave and blast of air, heat, and light, essentially creating more DRAMA because: what if she can only teleport herself and not carry others with her, but they're trapped in a small confined space, and she has to teleport away in order to save the day, but a normal teleport on the street blows the glass windows on the houses nearby and shakes the branches on the trees, there's no telling just hoe much damage the guys in close proximity would sustain. And since it's cause and effect of physics, there's no magic-res.
But besides that, a (normal) teleporting Mochi + acrobatic fight choreographies during battle sounds amazing.
OOOOH INTERESTING..........I DIDNT EVEN THINK ABOUT A POSSIBLE PHYSICS EXPLANATION!!!!!!! given that a human cant actually teleport though, i imagine it would still fall under magic,...
but i DO love the idea of the teleport leaving behind a little warp cavity.....something the m34th could probably take advantage of, like in that movie jumper where normal people could ALSO jump by using some fancy tech shit on the rift left behind after a jump..,,..
(on a side note mochi is very cat-like so in theory she should be very acrobatic and flexible...,,....imagine the guild sees her doing double backflips and splits mid-air and theyre like "how long have you been able to do that--")

On this day, in September 1, 1896:
The Battle of Imus Began - The First Major Battle of the Philippine Revolution in the Cavite Province
----------------------------------------
The Philippine revolution began when Katipunan leader Andres Bonifacio raised his forces on August 30, 1896 and attacked the powder magazine at San Juan del Monte. Although this attack would fail, further uprisings from different contigents of the Katipunan found success in other places. One example was the Kawit contingent in the province of Cavite, which successfully rose up and over powered the local Guardia Civil on August 31.
Following this success, Katipunan members at the nearby town of Imus decided to begin their plans to rise up and overower the local garrison at the town plaza.
Under the command of the Captain Municipal of Imus, Jose Tagle, and the revolutionary leader of the Kawit uprising, Emilio Aguinaldo, Filipino rebels attacked the plaza, with the aim of capturing the church and covent, where the Spanish friars and Guardia Civil held out. However, after storming the church, the firars and Guardia Civil managed to evade them and retreat to a nearby estate house - located next to the Imus powder magazine. With stone walls protecting the compound, the position the Spanish forces occupied was formidable.
Despite this Tagle and Aguinaldo ordered their forces to attack. After relentless and fierce assaults, the Filipino forces eventually found a weak spot in the Spanish defense and soon torched the building. This forced the defenders to get out and eventually surrender. With that Imus was secure.
However, the battle was far from over.
On September 3, a relief column from Manila was sent to supress the revolt and recapture Imus. In the famous battle at Imus bridge, Aguinaldo managed to beat back the Spanish relief column, scoring a major victory for the Katipunan forces, while also making a name for himself. The battle of Imus would be the first victory in Aguinaldo's career.
----------------------------------------
So I wanted to do this piece on the battle of Imus because, well, its my hometown. The powder magazine and bridge mentioned in the battle are still standing today and I pass by them everytime I go to work. It's one of my favorite moments in history, since it was one of the first major victory Filipino recolutionist had agaisnt the Spanish colonial government.

How many people have you liked this year? Zero.
How many pills do you take a day?  It's the same amount of people I've liked this year.
Do you have any celebrity crushes?  Sure.
If you could have one superpower, what would it be? I love the idea of teleportation so I never have to go through traffic.
Do you put ketchup on top of your French fries or on the side?  I'd put any dip on the side, but that being said I never liked tomato ketchup and have always preferred to have my fries with mayonnaise.
Where did you last sleep other than your house?  That would be the accommodations we stayed at in Cavite, when we had an event in the area the following day.
Where did you get your last bruise from?  I can never remember where exactly all my bruises come from, but it's always because I hit myself somewhere.
Is it okay to kiss people when you’re single?  Uhhh as long as the person you're kissing is also single, I guess.
Ever worn something of the opposite sex’s clothing? I don't think so.
Do you have a secret that no one knows but you?  Sure.
Last CD you blasted through your car stereo?  Idk might've been a Beyonce album a decade ago, lol. I haven't put on a CD in a car in years – I always use Bluetooth.
How many email accounts do you have?  Not counting my work email, I have two main ones. I also have a handful extra Gmails so I can use my Google Drives connected to those accounts to dump all the excess photos and videos from my phone, lol. I'd rather have 20 Drives than pay monthly for storage.
Who is the best cook in your family? My dad and both my grandmas.
Which baby animal is your favourite?  Puppies.
Have you ever carved a pumpkin?  No not practiced here.
When is the last time you went to a carnival?  I mean I went to Bà Nà Hills last June and it felt like a carnival with all the game booths and such, even though I'm pretty sure they don't advertise themselves as a carnival.
Do you have a favourite glass, cup, or mug?  Not really, no.
What branch of science interests you the most? Biology and anatomy.
Have you ever written anything longer than 10 pages?  My thesis, lol.
Twitter or Tumblr? Neither. Twitter is a gross cesspool now, and I only use Tumblr for surveys which barely makes it a favorite.
Have you ever been given a lapdance by an actual stripper?  Nope.
Favorite YouTuber? Jessica Lee!
Have you ever had a controlling boyfriend/girlfriend?  To an extent.
Have you ever written a love letter to someone as a joke? No.
Do you have any gay family members?  Nobody who's out, at least. But I dunno...I don't think so.
Was your first kiss romantic? Yeah.
Who was the last person to sleep over at your house?  That would be Reena.
What would you think if you found out your ex was gay?  She is, so this doesn't apply to me. I would be extremely, so very shocked though if she winds up straight. Just doesn't seem possible. She legitimately hates men to the point of misandry.
How many people has your best friend had sex with?  Just the one, I'm pretty sure.
When was the last time you had a conversation with an ex? That was like October or November of 2020.
Are you currently “appearing offline” to anybody?  I've been 'offline' on Facebook since around 2017.
What were you for Halloween last year? I can't remember what/who I went as.
Do you believe that karma can come back and slap you in the face?  Not actively, but it's possible.
Have you ever been to Texas?  I have not.
Do your siblings text you?  My sister never does, actually. She'll mostly message on Messenger.
Have you ever searched for your own house on Google Earth?   I've done that, yeah.
Did your last kiss end up with you and the person doing anything sexual?  I can't remember.
Who is your ex dating/talking to? I don't know.
Did you ever have to share a room with one of your siblings?  Yeah very briefly, but the room layout at the time felt forced and super cramped + my sister also hated sharing rooms lmao so that setup lasted all of like two weeks.
What happened at the last party you went to?  Rita celebrated her 25th and Jo and I just spent much of the evening catching up. We were the only two in the field of like 60 people who knew each other, so we stuck together lmao.
Have you ever completely misunderstood what somebody was saying?  Yeah.
When was the last time you felt ill? What was wrong?  A month ago, food poisoning that sucked the energy out of me. I don't know how I managed to drive myself back home as I was really feeling faint at the time.
Who was your first best friend? Do you still speak to that person? Kaye, from kinder. We stopped talking as soon as she moved schools because there was no way to keep in contact.
Are you wearing anything that was given to you as a gift?  Sure.
What color is your jewelry box?  I don't own one.
Are you attracted to the last person you Facebook messaged? No, they're family.
What is your brother/sister’s favourite food?  My sister can eat tubs of Jollibee spaghetti all day every day.
Do you have any ice cream in your freezer? We don't.
In your life, who is the person that seems to understand you the most?  Probably Angela.
Does anyone know your Facebook password?  Nope.
Would you ever consider getting a piercing in your septum?  No.
Do you enjoy being outdoors?  Uh, sure, as long as the weather is nice. But since the weather here sucks 365 days a year, I don't usually like being outdoors lmao.
What’re some unspeakable subjects for you?  I'm an open book and can talk about anything if prompted.

The drug war reinvestigation of former president Rodrigo Duterte’s government has shown dismal results since its launch four years ago, with four homicide investigations now closed, putting six police officials back on active duty, Rappler has learned.
But during the House committee on human rights hearing on Wednesday, June 5, National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) Deputy Director for Operations Jose Justo Yap said there are actually a total of 30 cases already closed.
Mila [the mother of a young man killed by police officials and whose case landed in the reinvestigation] has participated in the drug war reinvestigation – an initiative launched in 2020 during Duterte’s time – by former justice secretary Menardo Guevarra that intended to review a speck of 52 cases of killings by police. The 52 cases were chosen because cops involved had already been meted sanctions, mostly suspensions, by the police force’s own internal affairs service or IAS.
On a smartphone screen, Mila watched Guevarra be accused by Act Teachers Partylist Representative France Castro of being behind a “coverup.” It is now June 2024, and Guevarra is President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s solicitor general.
Mila watched with a blank face as Guevarra explained that the difficulty in reinvestigating was lack of participation. “I participated,” Mila said, “I gave them everything I had.”
“But it’s like they weren’t interested,” she said. Mila said that in the few times that investigators reached out to her, they asked her if she had obtained more evidence. “I wanted to tell them: was that not your job?”
In the four homicide investigations involving nine police officials in Laguna and Cavite, three were “provisionally closed” in August 2022 due to a lack of investigative leads, and one is now closed and terminated because the family is “no longer interested,” according to the NBI.
“Despite commitments made before the United Nations Human Rights Committee, the government has been remiss in following up and acting on the commitments made by the former secretary of justice. How can the victims have the confidence in cooperating with government when you have such dismal results in the status of cases?” said Karen Gomez Dumpit, a former human rights commissioner who, during her term, already complained about the “superfluous” reinvestigation.
Of the 52, only one, the case of Carl Angelo Arnaiz, which was a sensational case that merited headlines in 2017, resulted in the criminal conviction for murder of one policeman.
“Mapanlinlang ang reinvestigation na ito para sa mga biktima (This reinvestigation is deceptive for the victims),” Kristina Conti, lawyer for victims and an ICC-accredited assistant counsel, told Rappler on Saturday, June 1.
Conti pointed out that the “cherry-picking” of the 52 cases was suspect from the beginning because the DOJ relied on records that were forwarded to them by the police. “The reinvestigation was a desk review, and this desk review is ineffective, and ultimately has no impact on the search for accountability in the Philippines,” said Conti.
Rubilyn Litao, the coordinator for Rise Up or the organized network of families of victims that Conti works with, said there’s been a little bit more willingness on the part of other families to share their experiences now that Duterte is no longer in power.
Dumpit said a family she’s in contact with expresses some hope from time to time whenever they see another case progress. “The successful prosecution of other cases even if not their kin’s case can regain some of the crumbled trust with the police and in the justice system in the country,” said Dumpit, “but clearly, with what you have gathered, there has been a dearth of investigations, very few indictments and more so with successful prosecutions.”
The Makabayan bloc sees promise in the committee hearing. Castro told Rappler she will try to have the individual police officials be called to the hearing to answer for their deadly operations. [Gabriela Partylist Representative Arlene Brosas] said “it’s also [the families’] time to be heard.”
