19 and/or 23 for Auron/Lulu, please? 😊
(( Hell yeah! Hope you enjoy some feels with these two 💖 many thanks for the prompt! ))
“Are you coming?”
Lulu sat at the edge of the Chamber of the Fayth’s entrance, fiddling with a doll’s loose stitching. Better to tighten the thread before the poor thing lost its stuffing. Without her dolls, then how else was she to focus on her spells? And without her magic, what use was she to Yuna on her pilgrimage?
Especially in the depths of the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth.
A sigh broke the silence. Heavy footsteps approached her—steady, yet slow. It wasn’t that she ignored the question; she simply couldn’t answer it.
“Lulu.”
She cast her gaze to him. Auron loomed above, his face concealed by a high collar and her vantage point. Regardless, she imagined he narrowed his eye, torn between frustration and pity.
“I heard you the first time,” she shot back.
He tilted his head. “And?”
“And—” Lulu rummaged through her sparse inventory to retrieve a needle and threat. “—it would be in everyone’s best interest if I stayed outside.”
No reply. Not even a defiant hmph. Lulu waited for his shadow to sweep over her. Yuna needed her guardians for whatever nonsense awaited inside the chamber, after all. Surely Auron with his combat prowess was more beneficial than—
The shadow did shift and Auron sat back on his heels beside her.

Mezzo Plays Final Fantasy X-2: Part 8
I decided to check out the Calm Lands next, since it's right by Macalania Woods anyway.
Two rival companies are operating gambling-based games in the area: Open Air and Argent, Inc. The games are the same for each, but the prizes are different.
Apart from that, this place isn't that different.
The games all involve captured fiends. For this event, you can place bets on which dog you think will win the race, and you receive Argent or Open Air credits for doing so. These can be used to buy items and other things.
The place still has a pretty high encounter rate, and considering how big it is, navigating is kind of a headache. The tiger-like Couerls can reduce your HP to 1 with their Blaster skill. It's learnable as a Blue Bullet, but requires a whole lot of MP and many enemies are immune.
The camp in the center makes for a nice rest stop, but um, that's creepy. I'm not sure I want to talk to you, man.
Nearby we find a pair of Ronso kids, Lian and Ayde.
Apparently Kimahri is troubled. That might be worth looking into.
Over where the monster arena used to be, we get this highly ominous message. Apparently something may be happening here later.
The Cavern of the Stolen Fayth is also closed off. I guess there's not much else that can be done here, so I crossed the bridge to Mt. Gagazet.
Good to see you, big guy. The first thing he does is apologize to Yuna for not being able to find more spheres.
Yuna says it's no worry.
He does mention a place he hasn't checked. The Fayth Scar is where the cluster of fayth that summoned the dream were situated. Now, of course, they're just statues.
He's concerned about sphere hunters there. Rikku thinks it might be Leblanc and her goons.
As the kids mentioned, he's now the Ronso tribe's elder, but he seems unsure of himself as a leader. Yuna reminds him that his decisions are his alone.
Hey, that's convenient.
The Gullwings are a little intimidated by that cliff, but hey, look, there's a goon right there.
They immediately pursue her.
Oooh, a secret hot spring. The goons are slacking off by taking a bath here.
That's mean.
Ormi shows up, and the Gullwings accuse him of being a peeping tom. He's insulted by this, since he has a reputation to keep up.
This time it's a solo fight against him. He's still pretty wimpy, especially without Logos and Leblanc to back him up.
He's outta here.
Unfortunately, all the activity roused the goons, and they go and accuse the Gullwings of being peeping toms. Well.
They go down pretty easily.
One down, two to go.
For the next step, I stopped by Guadosalam to see if I could find any clues as to what the Syndicate was up to. Probably should have done that first.
No entry permitted, obviously.
Aha, here's a lead. There's really only one sandy place in Spira, so it's off to Bikanel Island to check.
Well that's annoying. Good thing we have an airship at least.
There's a big crowd outside the temple. A lot of people are signing up for the digging operation, and many take the time to stare at Yuna. It makes her a little uncomfortable.
This is Gippal, leader of the Machine Faction and another of The Hot Guys. The Machine Faction is an Al Bhed salvage group that uses the term 'machine' to avoid the negative connotations of 'machina'.
Sounds very Leblanc-ish. We'll have to check that out.
Yep, it's them. The Gullwings plan to kill two birds with one stone by both finding the sphere and snatching another uniform.
Oh, now this is something special.
Come on. Didn't I already beat you once today?
He brought Logos with this time, but that won't save him, especially since I've got a new special dressphere to try out.
Now that is some major flower power.
Yuna's moveset is more magic-oriented than Paine's, and the two pistils can provide both damage and support abilities. Ormi and Logos were scattered away like petals in the wind. The Gullwings snagged another uniform too.
Now we can go back to getting permission from Gippal to join the digging crew.
Well, that was fast.
We head back to Bikanel, and the chief there has an assignment ready. Apparently there's been suspicious activity over by the oasis. Could it be the Syndicate again?
This seems to be the same oasis that Tidus woke up at when he arrived in Bikanel.
And the set is complete.
Okay, what is that even supposed to mean? Yes, we're fighting again. No Ormi this time, but that's fine, since Logos is good enough target practice for Rikku's special dressphere.
All systems functional. Prepare to engage.
This mech comes with a number of different weapon systems including lasers, missiles, and good old stompy legs. The left and right arms can fire off support weapons and perform emergency repairs. Once again, Logos was crushed.
With all three uniforms gathered, the raid can begin. Look forward to that next time.

Final Fantasy X-2 HD Remaster Part 2 - Chapter 3 & mashing the x button at the Farplane (lol)
Fiends swarming out of the temple? Leave it to the friendly neighbourhood Gullwings? Lolll, any reason for Yuna to save the people she cares about I guess haha. Sphere break tournament!! Lol at Rin being such a big shot now with how rich he is to sponsor the tournament and have girls all around him lol. I honestly didn’t get how I was supposed to be getting the quota in Sphere Break until I googled that I needed those echo combos lmao, no wonder why I was losing, I kept thinking the more coins I used, the faster I’d meet the quota hahahahah! I’m sorry I’m a silly idiot. Anywho, challenged the guy walking around the square, the old man on the bridge and then challenged the lady with the dog to get a garment grid, so I “purposely” lost to her so I could save before facing the champion~ Lmao, and yes, I lost to Shinra many times because I didn’t understand the game, but after that, it was an easy win! That’s right, that’s what happens when you get cocky Shinra!
Running through Mi'ihen highroad cleaning up the machina that’s gone berserk is bad, I remember it, luckily no one got hurt though. Doesn’t mean we should go back to riding chocobos though! Let them roam in the wild! Pretty sad that I had to do this twice because the first time I didn’t do the jumping down the ledge with Rikku that you should see at the north part of the newroad aiyaa. Honestly though, I love Gippal. Not only do I find it so cute how he loves to tease Rikku, especially since it seems like he’s the only one that Rikku has no words to tease back hahaha, but I also find it so refreshing and cool how he told the Youth League guys to deal with the fiend problem themselves and stop relying on Yuna so much. When he told Yuna that it was already enough that she’s defeated Sin and that she should leave it to everyone else that has been protected by her to protect Spira now, I was so touched. I can see why little me loved Gippal when I first played this game. He’s a great guy, all my respect goes to him! Who cares about Baralai or Nooj when Gippal is the one? XD Gippal is one who acts by his words and I love that. He’s silly but serious, the perfect balance, you can see why so many people look up to him as their leader!
Lmao at Tobli wanting to hold a concert with Yuna as the main first to attract more people since his first didn’t turn out well, I guess if Yuna is so into dancing and singing now, why not lol. Although Yuna dancing will always remind me of her sending the dead lmao. Seeing Leblanc so depressed because Nooj has disappeared is very unlike her, at least go try finding him, you’re a sphere hunter, lady! Hmm, another sphere with Shuyin and then Maechen randomly appearing in Leblanc’s headquarters to talk about how he’s probably a guy back in the Machina war where Zanarkand and the others fought 1000 years ago. I guess since Tidus is a dream of the fayth, it’s not too crazy to think that they would have dreamt of Shuyin in another form and that’s why Tidus and Shuyin look so similar? Seeing Cid feel so bad about turning Zanarkand into a tourist spot and sincerely apologising to Yuna was nice, at least he’s realised what he’d done, now he just needs to fix it! Rikku was right though, in a sense, it’s like turning the ruins of Home (where the Al Bhed all used to live) into a tourist spot. It felt so terrible to see the Al Bhed debt collectors that were staking out at the Macalania agency waiting for O'aka to come back killed by the out of control fiends. It was so horrible to see the first casualties. They actually bothered protecting the agency for O'aka… Hopefully their deaths won’t be for nought and O'aka will really bring this place alive again. The woods may be dying and the temple may have sunk underwater but I’m sure you can somehow do it O'aka!!
Lmao at the existence of a Cactuar Nation and Benzo translating cactuar language. Funniest thing was the second cactuar that was sunbathing in Besaid LOL, it was literally sitting there hahahaha, so cute. Not sure if these little guys went out to train or to play, but since they’re the ten gatekeepers that need to come back and protect the nation, I’ll just assume they’re really training. I mean, those cactuar mini games are so hard and annoying lol. HAHAHA, my bad, the cactuar brothers riding a chocobo in the Calm Lands is so cute and funny looking hahahaha, they’re even holding reins LOLL. Never thought they’d even try to make the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth into a tourist destination and game as well, can’t blame Yuna for being mad, it’s just disgusting and dangerous. At least they’ve learnt their lesson now that there were fiends there. The Ronso looking for revenge on the Guado is a saddening but understandable thing. At least, they believe in the voice of the mountain and listened to it and Yuna and decided to not. Revenge will bring nothing. Yuna didn’t fight to bring this Eternal Calm for more blood to be shed.
I can’t believe Beclem really wanted to burn the temple down to kill all the fiends! I guess he’s not wrong though since if Yuna wasn’t here, it would have been difficult for them to defeat Dark Valefor themselves. But still, this was the place Yuna became a summoner, where she met Tidus, if it’s not needed, who really wants to burn all those memories away. I mean, me just walking through it gives me nostalgia, let alone Yuna and them haha. Vegnagun ran off by itself because when it detects any form of hostility, it awakens and runs? And Nooj hated it deep down even though he wanted to use it, so it ran off… But did Nooj hate it or did the one that’s controlling him hate it? 2 years ago, the three of them and Paine were a part of the Crimson Squad (to be) and were shot by the Nooj that was controlled and I guess that’s why Baralai could never see him in the same light after that and they all went their separate ways. They all cherish each other as friends though and I guess that’s why no matter what they did, they were all bound to meet again. Ah, so Shuyin was the one controlling Nooj and now Baralai. He’s mad that Spira is still fighting over useless things 1000 years later and wants to end everything with Vegnagun and find Lenne again. It was quite uncomfortable seeing him hug Yuna in her songstress form (since the songstress dressphere carries Lenne’s feelings) but, it was a pretty scene. I like how great Gippal’s, Baralai’s and Nooj’s friendship is that they would risk their lives to get Baralai back.
Still annoyed that to get 100%, you have to mash the x button and hear four whistles! It’s like dude, I’m not sure if I really heard four!? And who would know this without a walkthrough?! Sigh. It was kinda awkward seeing Yuna and Shuyin hug lolol, but I guess Lenne’s feelings overcame her alongside her own feelings of hoping that it’s Tidus. I guess despite the craziness of Shuyin, you’ve gotta admire his persistence on protecting the woman he loves and doing everything he can to save her and then once she was dead, it only made him hate Spira for making it impossible for them to live happily. On to chapter 4~ I hope all the commspheres are set in every place I went to, because if it isn’t, I’ll dieee.

So something I've been wondering is about the unsent summoner Belgemine
How exactly did she die? She seems to be a rather ancient unsent considering her knowing of Remiem, Baaj temple and Yojimbos cavern and being able to access them, but what are the details? Was she just from a recent time around the time they were still known of? She says she was unable to defeat sin the first time you meet her if I recall correctly, why was that? Did she not have a guardian to become her final aeon and faced sin without it? Did the cavern of the stolen fayth have any play in this? Or was she one of the many summoners who supposedly made a stand against sin in the calm lands and died? I am curious to know what theories others have for her

I just ran across this discussion from many years ago in my "related posts". You posted it before you'd finished posting the end of the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth arc, so I was speculating how that would play out.
I was imagining Lulu coming back from the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth only to stumble across Auron, possibly unconscious at Rin's. So she would wind up being the messenger to Bevelle. Lulu, sullenly: It was Braska. (Fireworks, cheering, wild celebrations.) Lulu, to herself: and oh yeah, MY summoner is dead too, thanks, not that anyone cares.
In fact, you did something far better by having Braska's party meet Lulu coming back from her ordeal, so each of them could react to and interact with her in Dadlike ways. Except for Auron, who despite his total lack of Dad Skills once again got stuck carrying the kid.
Also any excuse to reblog that doodle is a good one.
I have some FFX chronology questions

@dreamzanarkands
that line always bothered me, too; I assumed she just meant something more like 'unsent', but maybe like you said, they don't generally use words like that, because theyre more yevon-y concepts?? // shRUGS
and yeS-- tidus is just reacting like any normal fckng person would aksuauuaf. and doesn't even whine half as much as most would, considering his shituation.
He’s pretty smart as well. I mean, the first thing you do is go find stuff to make a fire. If he was nothing but an airhead blitzer, he wouldn’t know how to do that, much less how vital it is. Buuut he does. And I sorta like to think that’s something Auron taught him, and that actually, Tidus could survive pretty well on his own thanks to Auron’s boring ass nature lectures.
@spiras-sunshine
I think maybe they assumed that he was in the latter stages of being unsent, when they've lost their humanity in every sense except their physical form (like Ginnem in the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth). As for the Al Bhed not liking dead things... they're probably on their guard because they don't /have/ summoners. The choices are either accept the concept of death while you're alive or become a fiend. I have my own headcanon about Rikku's Farplane aversion, but it could be cultural as well?
The whole concept of "memories are nice, but that's all they are" probably stems from the fact that they've had to watch countless loved ones turn into monsters with no one to send them.
YEAH. That’s what I was trying to say and going about it really badly because I was having a shitshow of a day yesterday. This is an excellent post now, thank u

Just in time for @guardian-comic, FFRK has added the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth.
Chibi Ginnem on the minimap is terrifyingly cute.
As usual part of the benefit of FFRK is free access to all the game music, so this has Lulu’s theme and a fair amount of the dialog (text boxes only of course)
Yojimbo is still an asshole. In the Elite dungeon he Zanmato’d half the party including Lulu, but Yuna was there to put them back on their feet. :). Yes, he pulls out his katana, and yes, the doggie jumps at people.

Mezzo Plays Final Fantasy X-2: Part 12
With the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth situation cleaned up, it's back off to look for more things to do.
That sounds like it's worth a visit.
Seems the show is a flop. That's a shame.
Well, there's always the next one.
Yuna, are you sure you should be asking that?
Paine: "Yuna, run."
She's got the right idea. Let's get out of here.
There's still a distress call from Besaid to answer.
Actually, things seem to be going fine here. As Lulu explains, Wakka and the Youth League have the situation under control, and they're hunting down the last remaining fiends.
Lulu thinks Yuna should help out, and she agrees.
Outside, we find Shinra setting up another commsphere. He explains what they're used for: They can relay video back to the airship.
Seems to be working. Brother is quite pleased to see his crush, who is also his cousin.
Nearby, we find Wakka talking with a Youth League official.
That's a little extreme, don't you think?
They both head inside the temple, and Yuna follows.
"Praying to them never did anyone any good."
He claims to just be concerned about the safety of the village. Yuna heads inside.
This was the simplest Cloister of Trials in X-1, and it's still super easy to navigate. The fiends in here aren't much of an issue either.
There's Wakka. He looks hurt, but he'll be okay.
That's rather questionable, Paine. Wakka and the other Gullwings aren't going to go along with it. Not yet, at least.
Wakka has a better idea. If this is anything like the other temples, there should be an aeon near the chamber.
The Gullwings head down there.
Yep.
The Gullwings warn Wakka to keep his distance as they deal with the threat.
Valefor was the weakest aeon in X-1, and she more or less reprises that role here. Sonic Wings now drains MP rather than dealing damage.
That said, she's not completely harmless.
Compared to the other aeons we've fought, she isn't nearly as tough to deal with.
I beat her before she even had a chance to use Energy Blast.
"I grew up here in Besaid. This is my home. I became a summoner here."
"This is where I first met you."
With the threat taken care of, Yuna and her crew return to the entrance.
Beclem gives them a lecture, reminding Wakka that he's due to be a father soon.
A bit harsh, but he does have a point.
Still, they won't be burning any temples down today.
Mission complete.
Why, indeed. They weren't coming out of the temples, but the chambers of the fayth. Each had a hole where the fayth once was. And there was a similar hole in the room Vegnagun was stored in.
All this is connected, somehow.
Looks like Gippal couldn't handle the issue on his own after all. Brother wants to just leave him to his own fate.
But Yuna isn't backing down.
@bluemagedanny recommended I go to Bevelle before heading to Djose. Let's check out what's going on over there first.
Wait, Gippal's here? Is that why Djose sent out the distress signal?
The Gullwings follow him into the temple, and find him walking to the chamber of the fayth. What's going on?
He eventually returns to the room Vegnagun was stored in. The Gullwings spy on him from a safe distance.
The other hot guys are here too?
How mysterious.
Baralai explains that Vegnagun has the ability to sense hostile intent.
When Nooj came, it apparently activated on its own and destroyed the wall to escape.
"You probably think that's impossible. You've always been too naive to see. I wouldn't expect you to understand."
"I believed in you once."
That escalated quickly.
Paine? As in, the very same Paine traveling with us?
Pyreflies begin emitting from Nooj's body, and his voice sounds strange, as if two people are talking at once.
"He was too weak to resist me. I don't expect you to present any more of a challenge. Not now."
The pyreflies flow outward from Nooj and into Baralai.
Now he's the one that speaks with two voices.
"Two years ago, it was the same with you, Nooj. Seeking your own death. Now you can have it."
Nooj tells Paine to leave, and a fiend suddenly appears from the wall.
Oh no, it's one of these things. Bad Breath is still a massive pain, but there's the small consolation of it being able to be learned as a Blue Bullet.
Looks like the hot guys ran off while they were fighting.
Paine confirms that she used to be in a squad with them, and that Nooj did end up shooting her in the back. But it seems like she doesn't want to say anything else.
Yuna and Rikku aren't that pleased, but it's not like there's anything they can do.
We also find this sphere. It looks like those four survivors Ormi and Logos talked about on their sphere were the hot guys and Paine. The whole thing raises still more questions.

Okay, so, I’ve found and caught many Fiends, 10 of each for most Fiends. However, my plan is still to go after at least 5 of each Fiend. However, I noticed that Tonberries, both the ones in Cavern of the Stolen Fayth and the Tonberry Kings in Omega Ruins, seem to be near impossible to find. I went through the entire Omega Ruins trying to find enemies and found, like, 10 of all Fiends, but only one Tonberry King before I left. And same for the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, but found 2, though I accidentally killed one instead of capturing it. I also went to Bikanel and found 10 of all Fiends, except for the Sand Worms, also accidentally killing some. I even caught 10 Cactuars and they’re not exactly abundant. I caught 4 Sand Worms. I plan on going back later, after exploring other regions.

Today, I...
Learned that there is only one intern older than me, and only by some months. Everyone else including the long term interns are >=21. I got Yojimbo and Anima, which means I can start working on Yuna's Celestial Weapon, which as a byproduct requires you to unlock all Aeons. By extension, I cleared Baaj Temple and the Cavern of the Stolen Fayth, captured at least one of every enemy in the cavern including the damn Tonberrys, and got Lulu's Onion Knight. Also got Kimahri's Celestial Weapon. It took me a while to make an armor customized for no random encounters but sheesh does it make some of these side quests easier. I also went grocery shopping and was very successful, and had the presence of mind to already have my ID out when I was getting my dad's booze at the state liquor store, since I look sixteen. Adulting!
