Have You Seen Her by Catherine McKenzie
I don’t know what this book wanted to be.
I anticipated this being a thriller but wow, it was a slow one. It starts off dramatically with Cassie just up and leaving everything behind. There is also the introduction of two other relevant characters, Pearl and Jada. All three storylines intersect that will make sense in the end.
My main issue with the book is that it is so slow. Majority of the book is spent dwelling on Cassie’s day to day life. It didn’t really read like a thriller book. Pear and Jada’s story also were not as captivating as it could have been. I just think the overall book was incredibly lacking.
The end twist was surprising but expected. I also recently read another book by the same author and the author also employed a twist ending. However, the twist ending in this book was not that great.

You Can't Catch Me by Catherine McKenzie - Book Review
The Book Review
You Can’t Catch Me by Catherine McKenzie is an epic thrill ride that had me hooked at every word!
Catherine McKenzie is an author I stumbled upon and fell massively in love with (in reader fashion). The books Catherine writes are thrilling, engaging, fast paced, and always have me glued to the book. Now, this is only the second book I’ve picked up, but it was love at first sight…

Most Anticipated June 2023 Releases
I waded through over a whopping 200 new releases for June to find the top picks I’m interested in. This list is dominated by mystery/thrillers and romance. There’s definitely three titles I’m looking to add to my shopping list… the rest I’m still undecided about. I wonder what will tip my opinion either way?

Review: Please Join Us by Catherine McKenzie
Author: Catherine McKenziePublisher: Atria BooksReleased: August 23, 2022Received: NetGalley
Please Join Us is the latest thriller novel by Catherine McKenzie. I’ll admit that it was initially the vibrant cover that caught my attention, though the plot kept me invested enough to see the story through.
Nicole Mueller feels like her life is falling apart. In a desperate move to save her career,…

In the long run, she should be included among the short list of actresses who truly elevated the craft- Streep, Duse, Bernhardt, Leigh, Hagen, Dench, and Page.
We are truly so fortunate to be living in the same time as this incredible artist. Not just an actor- an artist.

One month ago, I'd never known Sarah Lancashire. Then I saw the tweet below popped up on my timeline. I'm a fan of Nicola Walker and Susan Lynch, so I binged all 3 seasons of 'Happy Valley' and 5 seasons of 'Last Tango in Halifax', I think, within three weeks. Now I'm obsessed with Sarah Lancashire, she's magnificent! 😍

You Can't Catch Me by Catherine McKenzie
Following a case of identity theft with practically all of her money being stolen, Jessica is beyond frustrated, especially when she figures out that the perpetrator has done this before. Determined to catch her again, Jessica meets other people with her name in order to figure out how to stop them. You can’t Catch Me by Catherine McKenzie is not only simply a story about catching a thief, it is also a revenge story of sorts.
I was initially sceptical of this book however I think it did a solid job. I flew through this book super easily as it was written in a way that was easy to digest despite the subject matter. All of the Jessica Williams featured in the book were quite distinct and memorable. The narrator, Jessica Williams one, was a level-headed protagonist who understood what she was doing. The supporting cast was also good.
The end was a complete twist which I loved! One thing that was not necessary was the cult background. I suppose it led to the romance which was also not needed.
Otherwise, a great read!
