[In the meeting hall of the Castle of the Three Great Angels, the digimon affected by the Demon Lord attack stand quietly to hear what the angels have to say. Strabimon and Reflectmon, who tend to take on much of the brunt of leadership in the group, stand in the front. Strabimon looking upward towards these strange powerful digimon with cautious curiosity, while Reflectmon looks down at the floor, avoiding any eye contact with any digimon in the room.

To the right of them stands the newcomer, Tromon, who is with the stern looking rabbit guard, Lekismon, as well as the now very anxious friends of Sprocket City, Koraimon and Talpidmon. Both of whom seem to be conflicted in why they are here, uncomfortably shuffling and making an effort to not look at one another.

To the left and just out of eyeshot of the de facto leaders are Lamnimon and Flitmon, the later worriedly looking from face to face, trying to glean what condition all of their friends are is, while the former seems stuck in their own level of discomfort and puzzlement over what just happened to them. What were those strange visions? Those nightmarish memories?

Behind them, toward the back, is the group from Fortune town. Bastemon and MailPidgemon stand at the forefront of the group, while Flamedramon holds onto and tends to the Kudamon siblings. MailPidgemon looks especially stern about the information they are about to receive, while Bastemon simply appears to be here searching for answers as well as to why their friend Aegiomon was killed.

Sirenmon and Gullymon are not present.

Nachtmon also does not appear to be present.

Who is present, however, is Pengimon, who is waiting by the entrance patiently for their friend Flamon to retrieve their cat friend from the resting area.]

Fla: [Rushes in with Geopardmon in hand, talking in a hushed tone.] Pengimon! Hey.

Pengi: Ah! There you two are. [Hops up onto Flamon’s shoulder.]

Fla: What did we miss?

Pengi: Not much. I think we’re just starting...

Ophani: -I know you all probably have a lot of questions. And we will do what we can to answer them.

But for now we humbly ask you to be patient with us. As there is much to explain.

Reflect:

Oh you best believe there is much to explain…! I can’t believe thou art asking me to be patient right now.

One of my best friends is DEAD. And I have no idea WHY! So forgive me if I’m a little IMPATIENT…!

[The three angles are at first shocked at the outburst, but then look away sadly. Those of the Fortune Town crew also look away in pain, hurt from the loss of their friend, and the suffering of their leader.]

Flit: … F...Flecky…

Lamni: ...

Strabi: [Gently touches Reflectmon’s arm]

Reflectmon…

Reflect: … [Looks away from them.]

Cherubi: We understand that you are hurting right now… And I wish we could give you the solace you deserve… But... We can’t...

Seraphi: However, we can give you answers…

The ones who attacked you back in the forest belong to a group known as the demon lords. We’ve been in a quiet war with them for several years now. Because of the strain the spirits had faced in the past, the Spirit of Darkness split in two, and the Ten Legendary Warrior Spirits were shot across the Digital World. Furthermore, once we were able to find one of them, the Spirit of Wood, we found out that the spirits, in their turbulent return… Changed form…

Inktober|Writing prompt day 3: Matthias Pendragon

(Here’s a picrew to really see what he looks like since I’m not entirely satisfied with my drawing)

Time to talk about that guy who is one of my OC and oh boy I have a few things to say about him (especially how he pass from the harry potter universe to Black Clover universe, ending up as a magic knights in the Crimson Lion Kings.)

Matthias Pendragon is Arawyn’s Anderson (my oc for harry potter hogwarts mystery) elder cousin (there are two years separating their birthday.) and also Jacob Anderson cousin. I answer this question now... YES, he is king Arthur Pendragon direct descendant just like Arawyn is Morgana direct descendant and NO, MY TWO OC ARE NOT ENEMIES (even though it was close) !!! And in my version of history for family backstory Arthur and Morgana weren’t really enemies !

Now that I clear that, onto the story...

If Arawyn had it cool with her mom and grandma despite her father left the house the day she was born, Matthias had it rough at the beginning. I previously said it but Morgana and Arthur weren’t enemies during Camelot and arthurian’s legends time however Matthias parents (and I won’t give them names because assholes like them don’t deserve to have one) judged it was good if they put their son in some sort of competition against Arawyn and make him believe that she was evil, petty, that he shouldn’t interact with her like they don’t interact with the other member of their own family and the other Pendragons and many other things. But also they make him believe it was his duty as a member of the great Pendragon family to honor the ancient king and be worthy of the sacred sword Excalibur.

And then he met his (un)famous cousins during a great family dinner organized by the elders leaders of the family who had invited every members and they must be present which didn’t pleasure Matthias parents but they HAD to be there and you cannot decline an invitation from the elders so they went to Camelot castle that night. And my boi realized really fast that Arawyn HAS nothing to do with the description of his parents when the Anderson’s siblings approached him quickly when they spotted him because...

“Matthias Pendragon, direct descendant of the powerful and legendary member of our family Arthur Pendragon ?”

He was shocked, intimidated and he could only nodded and then those two crazy siblings high fived before they take him and present him to Rosa, Cynthia, the elders that they knew very well and other member of the family.

“How do you know so much people in our family ?” he asked to the siblings

“I thought cat’s got your tongue.”

“Jay, that’s not nice ! As for your question, we saw them very often and the elders know a lot of thing about Arthur and Morgana.”

“Aren’t they mad to see you ask endless of questions ? Aren’t they annoyed ?”

Matthias thinks he did a mistake when he saw the Anderson siblings look at each other like they discover something he didn’t know himself and he was scared when he saw Jacob leave him alone with Arawyn, the one girl his parents told him to not approach. Because Arawyn is in reality nice, pretty and great, so great that he wouldn’t be surprise if she was worthy of Excalibur.

And of course when his parents found him with Arawyn, it went as he expected when he noticed the dark look his father had (who is also Edward Anderson younger brother meaning he is Arawyn’s uncle.): he yanked Matthias arm from Arawyn and slapped his son and niece although he slapped harder Arawyn and since he knew about her “accident” he decided to kick her stomach where the scar is.

“Arthur and Morgana would be disappointed if they saw how you treat their direct descendant.”

“Do not speak of things you don’t know filthy little girl. I won’t let you poison my son mind with your words and action. I always trusted my brother because he was the smartest meaning that if he left your mother the day you were born it’s because he felt you will become a great danger for us. Such a shame you are Morgana’s direct descendant because if you weren’t then I will not hesitate to kill you.”

“I do not think you will, son.”

Matthias is happy to see grandma Cynthia arrived and she will teach her son a lesson he will remember and Rosa Anderson or auntie Rosie like he will called her later, is chewing out on her sister-in-law while the elders were checking if Arawyn scar didn’t re-open. And Matthias was horrified to see what his father was ready to do when he saw the scar on Arawyn’s stomach and he was angry at his father.

Then he noticed that his father prepared an attack by using his lightning affinity and directed to Arawyn. But Matthias jumped between the attack and Arawyn and it touched his left eye. This is how he got his scar.

His father was brought in court for hurting and attempting to murder a minor, his own niece and his mother had custody of Matthias removed and she couldn’t see him if Rosa and Matthias later didn’t accept her request.

So Matthias moved in England with his awesome cousins, the Anderson siblings brought him out of his shell and he became more confident, took his own decisions. He even saw Jacob as a model to follow and tried to copy him but big brother Jacob told him to be his own person, the only thing Matthias tried to copy his the hairstyle but after a few months he had his own hairstyle.

One thing he shares with his cousins is a love for music to the point they even form their own private group and when Lydia and Tommy joined the family after the wedding, he took the mute girl under his wing and quickly discover her talent for music: she was great at being a compositor.

But there is one thing Matthias didn’t want to do and it’s to join a magical school. He decided that he will take lesson from a private teacher and he hereby declared that Tommy will take that role. (he did that so the man can pass more time with his blood daughter Lydia and yes the Ministry of Magic had no other choice but to accept his decision.)

When Arawyn waas kidnapped by R, the mansion became silent and he hated it because he reminded him of his parents house. He also knew that Jacob had a hard time at Hogwarts during this period and Matthias was angry against himself because he is sure he could have don esomething. But when she was found what was the first he did when Arawyn was back ? Throw a goddamn part without grandma Cynthia authorization even if he regretted it later.

And now the fun part...

When Arawyn start her fifth year at Hogwarts, he was seventeen and he discovered in the library books about a land with four kingdoms and everyone there have magic so during that year and while Arawyn was close to the fourth vault, he search for more info on this mysterious continent. Lydia, the elders and even Cynthia were curious so they helped him and the one that got his attention was the kingdom named “Clover” because they had magic knights and when he read what was their role, they all thought about “the Knights of the Round Table.” which got Arawyn attention too.

And with the events of the fifth year and Charlie words, Arawyn decided to do the biggest fuck you to Dumbledore which means... Leaving Hogwarts for good ! Being free of her unofficial post of curse breaker for Hogwarts, Arawyn could finally relax and do everything in her power to stop her father by herself and without any adults to tell her what to do when they don’t know themselves what is happening.

They decided to travel to Clover but first they contact the highest authority of the kingdom which is the Wizard King. Julius being the nerd of magic he is, he accept to receive the little family and Tommy keep that secret from the ministry of magic.

When they arrived to Clover, they are welcome by Julius Novachrono and Damnatio Kira (he is here to judge if the family is trustworthy of their hospitality) and the first thing the cousin want to see is a grimoire tower for obvious reason which Julius granted them and guess what ? Arawyn and Matthias received grimoires: lightning grimoire for the Pendragon heir and Sword magic for the Anderson heir. And because Arawyn was worthy to wield Excalibur, the sword went into the grimoire.

After they visit the Royal capital and share dinner with the three royal family, Vermillion, Silva and Kira, the little family had their own quarter for the night which is perfect because they can discuss things with Matthias since they all noticed the way he acted during the whole day. And it’s not a surprise for any of them when he ask if it’s possible to stay here and become a magic knights.

Being the nice and supportive famile the Anderson and Ellan are, they accept his choice and Julius heard them and literally stars in his eyes when he approach my boi and asked him if he really wants to stay here and integrate the magic knights which is replied by a “YES SIR”. When it comes to magic Julius is really fast with paperwork and he took care of all the papers to let Matthias stay in Clover.

He prepared for the magic knights entrance exam, the year Asta and Yuno particiapte, with the best of his abilities, managed to pass it with no problems and of course the Golden Dawn, the Silver Eagles and the Crimson Lion Kings want him in their squad because the fact he was a descendant of a powerful king went around (thank you Arawyn) but the Blue Rose and the Black Bulls squads want him too. And he choose to go with the Crimson Lion (courtesy of Arawyn and her famous dragon instinct or as called by her friends her gut feeling.)

molly has the knowledge of incredible table manners. her mother spent a good deal of time teaching her how to be a polite member of society. however, molly doesn’t always put this knowledge into practice. it’s not that she’s purposefully rude. only that sometimes, her manners are forgotten in favor of elbows on the table. usually she isn’t bothered by anyone else’s manners unless they’re really, really bothersome.

biography:

the prewett family had never been the elite of pureblooded society. more often than not, they hovered somewhere near the middle. with enough influence that they could easily marry into the most ancient and noble house of black, but regarded by many to be less than due to their lax attitude about the strict purity of blood. the macmillan family had been treated little better. the distinction being that the macmillan’s wanted more. when a young melody macmillan expressed her desire to marry peter prewett, her father didn’t approve at first. the couple had to threaten to elope with one another before they finally relented and allowed them a proper ceremony.

they agreed that their family would not be focused on the power of a name, but the love they would share.

fabian came first. gideon wasn’t long after. hand in hand the prewett boys brought light into the world. the old country home was filled with laughter as they learned to talk and play and toddle about. their father often exclaiming that he didn’t know two things so little could cause so much of a ruckus with a hearty laugh. their bliss only grew more with the news that melody was pregnant once again.

molly lenora prewett was born the day before all hallow’s eve. the autumn leaves covered the ground in hues of scarlet and fiery orange. one twin says that it rained all morning the day that their little sister was born; the other twin says that he can remember the sun shining down on them as they waited for news on their mum. the only thing that they agreed on was that molly came in a little pink blanket, she was the loudest thing they’d ever heard, and they loved her entirely.

the young molly knew a life filled with blanket forts tied to every corner of the ceiling, baking pies on sunday evening with her mother, long walks out to the garden to help her father degnome the plots, a brother for each hand, mountains of stuffed animals, and so very many grass stains. it was a life filled with peace. it was a place where molly could be comfortably fearless. even as a little tot, molly recognized that her brothers would run into any fight without a second thought, but it would be a miracle if they remembered to tie their shoes first. it became second nature to care for the more obvious things they missed.

when the twins left for hogwarts, the house was noticeably quieter. molly got bored easily. without any traps to watch out for or presents to find, the suddenly singular girl had to find other avenues to focus her attention. she began to spend more and more time learning from their mother. molly learned to sew, to knit, to bake, and to brew what is universally regarded as a damn fine cup of tea. that time with their mother refined molly. it dulled the edges of her otherwise sharp temper and made her more receptive to where value can be found.

in the blink of an eye, it was her own turn to attend hogwarts. while she’d been nervous, molly wouldn’t let a soul see. fabian and gideon spent the entire night before ‘helping’ her pack her trunk with everything from the potted plant in the kitchen to lavalamp, her sweet kitten. it wasn’t until later that she realized they’d just been trying to distract her from her anxiety keeping her up all night. on the train ride to the castle, she wondered if she’d been in a house with one of them. it would feel weird not to be, but she suspected that she wasn’t quite clever enough to be in ravenclaw. the sorting hat seemed to agree. molly took her seat at the gryffindor table proudly.

molly was successful in school. she always managed to finish her homework and made good marks on her tests. there wasn’t any particular study that she outshined in than others with the sole exception of charms. there was no charm that little molly couldn’t figure out how to cast given enough time to practice. unlike her brothers, molly was perfectly content to stay out of trouble unless provoked. that being said, it was quite easy to provoke her. molly’s temper was legendary.

as the ominous clouds of war gather on the horizon, molly knows where her loyalties lie. her heart is with her family. however, she was never a warrior or soldier. molly held no interest in fighting or battles. she wanted to build a family and home like the one that she’d grown up in. she wanted to make sure that there was something worth fighting for in the end.

then she met arthur weasley. he was perfect. molly had never met a man in equal parts so brave, clever, and kind. she was always shocked to find that he wanted to spend time with her too. the two grew closer and closer. even when he left school, they continued to write. molly would look for simply any excuse to go see him during her breaks. it came as a shock to no one, but her, when he finally asked her to be his girlfriend. there was no other option, but yes, even though molly still wasn’t sure it was a title she deserved.

MOMENTS

In a family of four siblings, it would have been all too easy to fall into the background. However, Suri had always been the loudest and most unruly of the Shacklebolt siblings, making her difficult to overlook in any situation. Suri had always been stubborn in her convictions and passionate in her beliefs. When she found passion in something, it was as though a flame was lit that couldn’t be snuffed out. Her voice carried with drive and an authority most adults couldn’t possess. Even as a child, when Suri spoke, people were compelled to listen. Having gone to muggle primary school in her youth, it allowed her to have an open world view. Suri thrived in school, despite the fact that she didn’t care for it all that much. Still, she enjoyed the social aspects and participating in sports enough to make her studies worth it. At the tender age of eight, Suri understood the importance of balance and the unconditional love and support that came with family.

At eleven, Suri was more than a little excited to go to Hogwarts. Having heard about it from both her older brother and sister already, she was looking forward to the castle before she ever even stepped foot in it. However, nothing could have prepared her for the sense of belonging that came with being sorted. The first Shacklebolt to be sorted into Slytherin, Suri felt as though the house was made for people like her. Even at eleven, she understood that the world was changing and not necessarily for the better. She argued with her more close minded housemates more often than not, and bonded with the ones that were as headstrong and opinionated as she was. Suri tried out for Quidditch until she made the team as a chaser, and she joined every social activism club she could, and even started a few of her own as the years went on. Even at eleven, Suri was determined to make the world a better place.

During her second year, utter tragedy struck. Losing both of her parents was hard enough, but finding out that they’d been murdered was even worse of a blow. Their unfailing morals had gotten them killed in the end, and it had lit a fire in Suri’s soul long before she was old enough to actually do anything about the injustices of the world. However, it had been then that she vowed to herself that she would do whatever it took to ensure that the world didn’t fall into the hands of the monsters that tore her family apart. Despite the fact that she didn’t dim her light or quiet her voice any, she did work to stay out of trouble more, as she knew how much responsibility now fell onto Kingsley’s shoulders. Her brother, who had always had their backs, now had full custody of them. It wasn’t lost on Suri how much Kingsley was sacrificing to keep them together, and she wasn’t going to make his life any more difficult than it needed to be.

At twenty four, Suri thought she had her life all figured out. Suri loved her job as an Auror and the position that it put her in to not only help people that needed it, but bring others to justice that needed it. Working for the Order allowed her to keep her promise - the world would not fall into the hands of the people that so cruelly killed her parents and ripped their family apart. However, life threw another curve ball at her the night Rodolphus was elected. Sitting in Alastor’s office watching the results roll in, Suri didn’t think her stomach could sink any lower. That was, until she and Alastor were surrounded by so called Ministry officials and under arrest for supposed treason. The very justice system that Suri had fought so hard to uphold was actively being used to harm her. Sitting in a cell in Azkaban without so much as a trial, Suri couldn’t help but worry that maybe the system was far more broken than she had ever realized. Even if she could be reinstated, did she want to be without a massive overhaul of the system?

ALASTOR MOODY - The friendship between Alastor and Kingsley was almost legendary. Alastor had been around her family for as long as she could remember. It had been a no brainer to reach out to him when she finally kick started her career. Before long, Suri was not only an Auror, but Alastor’s partner as well. Despite their sibling-like bond, he treated her like an equal, and the trust between them was unbreakable. Being carted off to Azkaban illegally has made her worry for him, and she can’t help but wonder if his faith is as shaken as hers.

ADINA PATIL - Whether it was because they were too much alike, or because Adina always had something contrary to add to the conversation, the other woman drove Suri mad. She respected her, that much she couldn’t deny, but on a daily basis, no one got under her skin better than Adina did. Suri was all for being opinionated, and certainly didn’t need everyone to agree with her all the time, but it seemed like every time she spoke Adina argued with her just for the sake of it. She dreaded the missions she and Adina were paired up with one another and went out of her way to avoid that scenario whenever possible.

RITA SKEETER - While Rita wasn’t the typical fighter, Suri admired her grit. Having grown up in a family that was relatively weary of the media, she had a lot of respect for Rita and what she did. The pair of them were an unlikely friendship, but Suri couldn’t imagine her life without the other woman in it. Rita was passionate in her beliefs, and knew how to persuade people into seeing her side of things with facts and good writing. They balanced each other out well, and Suri knew that she could go to Rita for anything. Whether she needed someone to vent to or someone to have a good time with, Rita was her girl through and through.

Hey everyone! I’m Shay, and I’m very much looking forward to writing with you all! Below are very few facts about Maya that I’ll probably expand in the morning because I’m very tired. Mild CW for mentions of death of a sibling below the cut.

House Swann has stood for centuries. The first of the marcher lords, the nobles rule Red Watch from the castle of Stonehelm. throughout history, marchers have defended The Seven Kingdoms against Dorne, in the names of their liege lords, the Baratheons, and this was true even in more recent times while war raged. As the Baratheons stood by the throne, so did the Swanns, and for this, they have been richly rewarded.

The youngest in the long line of the Swann family is Maya. The second child of the current ruling lord, Maya is her father’s daughter- resourceful, cunning, and strategic, with a mind for good investments and strong leadership. Her elder brother, heir to castle Stonehelm, was a different story Stephan Swann was an idle fool, with little capacity for shouldering responsibility and even less interest. Sickly since birth, Stephan grew up coddled by his father, a man desperate to keep his only son and heir living until he had sons of his own. His efforts were for nothing. Maya was 17 when her brother died, and though she mourned, in a way it was a relief. At least now, his suffering was over.

Maya was suddenly left heir to house Swann, though very few were happy about it. She’s smart, and quick-witted, and possesses many strengths that could benefit their house, and the people of Red Watch, though most would never know it. What they do know, however, is of her famous temper, legendary throughout The Stormlands. Always adored by her parents and brother, Maya was spoiled and coddled, a brat unused to hearing the word no. While it didn’t seem to matter when she was a child, it was far less endearing when she reached adolescence. Quick to anger and prone to tantrums, Maya has a reputation for being impossibly difficult to deal with, and her fits of anger has left her father reluctant to name her as his heir. Stonehelm could never prosper under the guidance of a petulant child, much less a woman.

The simplest solution would be an advantageous marriage. A husband to rule in her name would solve all their problems, and keep Maya as ruler in name only. However, this is easier said that done. Maya’s behaviour has kept many suitors at bay. Whilst she wants what she deems as hers by right, she has little interest in marriage, and no intentions of playing nice in order to be married off to somebody who will take her inheritance from her. Should she not marry, it is likely her father will overlook her entirely, naming her cousin his heir, but Maya’s bitterness and anger outweighed all that is at risk. Her rage made her tantrums even worse, pushing the whole of Stonehelm almost to breaking point.

With the pool of potential suitors running dry, and members of the household leaving on almost a weekly basis, the marriage of Queen Anya and King Daeryon presented an opportunity to Lord Swann. Sending Maya to King’s Landing as a handmaiden to the new queen made it much more likely that a fortuitous marriage could be arranged, with the added bonus of removing the volatile Maya from the Stormlands. What he could not have anticipated was how much Maya would love the city, love the queen, and love her new position. King’s Landing has been good to Maya. Happier than she has been since before the loss of her brother, the earth shattering tantrums have become fewer and father between, and overall, her disposition is far more content. When pushed, the storm lying under her skin can still be brought to the surface, and it is still fr easier to anger her than it would be most, but improvements can be seen.

Weekly Voltron Fic Recs #47

I am probably going to do two of these this week to catch up on all my recs before the new season drops, so hold onto your hats. I’ve been reading a lot of fics, just haven’t been posting them because I’m lazy and easily distracted.

Rules: You can find past weekly rec lists here, and non-list recs in my general fic rec tag. Also follow @maychorianrecs for individually tagged posts, the easier to search and reblog. This is stuff I like, and I have a huge bias toward Lance, hurt/comfort, and general fluff, in that order. Gen unless otherwise noted. Please comment on the fics if you read and enjoy them!

Shadows of Stars by squirenonny Words: 11,030 (1/42) Author’s Summary: The paladins have dealt a major blow to Zarkon’s empire. Reunited with their families and stronger than ever, they’re ready to launch a counter-offensive. But to do so, they need more allies. Allies like the fabled New Altea and their spy ring, the Accords. But Zarkon isn’t about to sit idly by as his enemies gather their strength. He means to put an end to the Voltron Coalition once and for all–and this war is about to get personal.[Season 3 of Voltron: Duality] [Updates Mondays] My Comments: DUALITY IS BACK! I’m so excited, ahh, one chapter in and still amazing, of course, not that I expected anything else. I’ve been reccing this fic since we were only a quarter of the way into the first volume, and the AU has expanded immensely since then. I will keep reccing it until squirenonny quits writing it, so hopefully never. It’s so good, so amazing. Obviously you should start at the beginning, and I don’t want to spoil anything with a detailed review here, but just… Take my words for it. You will not regret the investment of time to devour this masterpiece. There are lots of romantic relationships, but the focus is on the team as a whole and the war, which is incredibly well thought-out and executed. Everything is good.

Equinox by vacant houses (the_lost_robot) Words: 4,862 Author’s Summary: There’s an entire universe inside the Black Lion. There’s a ghost in the Black Lion’s cockpit. OR: the path back home is never straightforward. My Comments: Fascinating and heartbreaking exploration of the concept of Shiro as the “white paladin.” A beautiful read.

One Step Closer by wilyasha Words: 8,142 Author’s Summary: Her father is more rigid, more cruel, and she cannot stomach the thought of him destroying Altea. My Comments: I’m usually not much for fics centered on an OC, and this one is about Zarkon’s never-mentioned-in-canon daughter, which is usually a sign of shenanigans. But this is good. Really good. Reading it is a great experience, though painful and heartbreaking set as it is right before the destruction of Altea. Give it a shot.

Someday by akaashikeijis Words: 1,223 Author’s Summary: Shiro is tired and they know. My Comments: I love fics where everyone just surrounds a hurting character and does everything they can to make it better. It’s good for Shiro to get a turn.

The Poster by GlowwormiK Words: 5,199 Author’s Summary: The story of how Varkon, a policeman, managed to meet the Emperor and receivd the poster we saw in his office.Inspired by this awesome art: http://aminoapps.com/page/voltron-legendary-defenders/7445245/varkon-dream-come-true . Written for https://platonicvldmonth.tumblr.com/, but i cannot wait to post it right now. My Comments: As much as I love and will never tire of the familiar fanfic tropes of some character I love being hurt and then comforted, there’s something I love even more about fanfiction, and that’s when a story can make me feel something NEW, something I never expected. Especially for a character who is basically a one-off joke in-universe. I mean, did you ever expect to read a Varkon-centric fic? Did you ever expect to read about a Voltron Galra mall cop saving the day and meeting his hero and just being the sweetest, humblest, most genuinely GOOD guy you’ve ever met in fiction? Well, here’s your chance. Read this fic. It will make you feel things. It made me feel so much, and I am truly grateful for the experience. Just a great, wonderful thing that you will find nowhere else. Unique and memorable.

At Rest (Five Miles Behind the Front) by Mytay Words: 19,258 Author’s Summary: Shiro is no longer the Black Paladin. He is no longer the commander of Team Voltron. He is a soldier without a purpose and a leader without a legion at his back.Lance is a seventh wheel. He is not fit to be a leader, and perhaps not even fit to be a Paladin. Or, in which two Paladins of Voltron learn their true worth, and finally, there is well-earned rest. My Comments: This has everything I love, ahh, I love it, instant favorite. Shiro angst, Lance angst, both of them trying to sacrifice themselves for the other and then trying to convince each other that they’re worthwhile and important. Not to be that person, but it kind of reminds me of my own fic, Boom Crash the Sound of My Ship, except in a post-Season Three context where it feels amazingly in-canon and in-character. I’m so glad it’s so long, too. Utterly satisfying read. I’ll be enjoying it again, probably more than once.

Full Capacity by spitfire00 Words: 863 Author’s Summary: The healing pods are full. The paladins are bloody and bruised. Shiro helps ease their aches and pains. My Comments: Just so cute, gah, Shiro is the best. Everyone needs a Shiro in their lives.

the shuffle of crabs by againstmygreeleaf Words: 12,253 Author’s Summary: Dinner is loud in all but volume. Shiro and Keith don’t show. Allura keeps trying to help by saying sentimental things that don’t help at all. It grinds on Lance’s nerves but he’s too drained to tune her out. He just lets her words unintentionally pelt his battered heart like stones, and watches the subtle way her hands shake as she spoons up her goo instead of trying to eat his own. Pidge eats hers, but it’s all automatic. She starts crying midway through the meal and doesn’t seem to notice. My Comments: I don’t write major character death. I rarely read it. Awhile ago someone asked me how I would write it, if I did, and I described exactly this scenario. Hunk dies at the beginning of the fic, and the rest of it is about the others learning to navigate their grief and finding some means of continuing on even in the face of this utter devastation. I’m glad this has already been written, by an author I trust absolutely, so I don’t have to do it. It’s gorgeous. Absolutely gorgeous. But yeah, Hunk dies, and it’s brutal and unfair and hits like a rocket to the midsection. Don’t read if you can’t handle that. I almost couldn’t.

Scent by Red_Dead Words: 1,400 Author’s Summary: Lance has taken something from Allura and she’s not to happy about it. My Comments: Aw, poor Allura. Lance really didn’t mean to hurt her like that. I love that it ends with bonding.

The Sleeping Habits of Humans (Far From Home) by hulklinging Words: 1,618 Author’s Summary: Pidge doesn’t sleep much. Neither does anyone else, really. No, Lance, annoying her to death will not make her more rested. My Comments: I love Lance figuring out why Pidge can’t sleep and gently bullying her into resting. He’s so smart and kind.

The Rain is Gone by isabeau25 Words: 5,066 Author’s Summary: Keith has a bad night, but it ends well. My Comments: Another part of a super lovely and relaxing platonic coffee shop AU. Poor Keith is having a rough life, and you can really feel Shiro’s grief and frustration for him. But he’s in a good place now, with cats and sunlight and people who care. It’s a great read.

The Packrat by VelkynKarma for maychorian Words: 11,519 Author’s Summary: While the paladins of Voltron fight a war that spans galaxies, Coran has a more personal war going on right under their noses in the Castle of Lions. My Comments: Even if this wasn’t a gift for me based on my prompt, I would still rec it. I was grinning the whole way through this fic and laughed aloud several times. Coran is so good and he deserves more fics where he’s the protagonist, and he and Lance teaming up was delightful. Fun, fun stuff.

Empty by Bandity Words: 21,248 Author’s Summary: The sequel to A Lonely Mind. You should read that first. Inner strength waxes and wanes. Lance finds himself facing his inner demons again when he begins having issues with his antidepressants. My Comments: Everything Bandity writes is amazing, and this one is no exception. This one is just about life, how it doesn’t stop no matter how much we want it to, and sometimes things don’t easier, they don’t go away. Everyone struggles, everyone needs to be accepted and loved. There are good days and bad days, hopefully more than good than bad, but all we have is each other. It’s great.

give out to give in by tyrellis Words: 20,198 Author’s Summary: So typical. So fucking typical, that Lance is the youngest and worst of his siblings, and then the kids come along and he isn’t even the cutest anymore, and he only made fighter pilot because perfect fucking Keith dropped out and even when he piloted a lion he didn’t have a thing like the others, and now he can’t even have Blue. Maybe he was the one to suggest it, but he was barrelling towards this point all along; rock fucking bottom. When it becomes clear that Allura is a better pilot than him, Lance steps down as the Blue Paladin. It is, after all, the obvious decision. Lance is, and has always been, the afterthought. But who needs an afterthought? My Comments: Langst done right. Warning for attempted suicide. Lance’s depression and downward spiral feel realistic and understandable, and the emotional scenes are absolutely perfect. Klance at the end, and even that didn’t put me off. It was cute without being overpowering, and the romance wasn’t used as something to “fix” Lance, but a natural outgrowth of their development together.

All Sorted Out by genericfanatic Words: 3,135 Author’s Summary: Lance is so excited for his first day of Hogwarts, and looks forward to getting sorted into one of the four houses! His sorting doesn’t go quite as planned, however. My Comments: Absolutely adorable Harry Potter AU in which the hat stalls forever in sorting Lance, because he has qualities that would make him do well in any of the houses. Later, naturally, he worries that he doesn’t really belong anywhere, but his friends help him see differently.

Conversation in Blue by FroldGapp Words: 1,414 Author’s Summary: Lance talks to Shiro about his ‘Keith problem’. My Comments: I love that Lance actually takes steps to understand why he and Keith sometimes rub each other the wrong way. Going to Shiro for insight is exactly the right move. Keith and Lance could be such good friends, but their backgrounds and methods of communication make it difficult, sometimes. Lance is a sweetheart for trying.

Tambourine Man by oldmythologies for SassafrassRex (Serbajean) Words: 1,166 Author’s Summary: “They knew his path well. They winked in front of him as a guide as Shiro swallowed his yawn, feet dragging. He was tired; he knew he was tired. Going to bed wouldn’t fix it; he didn’t sleep there either. There he was alone, without even the lights to keep him company. In bed, he had to close his eyes, to trap himself between his ears. It wasn’t a fun place to be. Better to make sure everyone else slept well than to waste time being afraid of the dark.” A commission for sassafrassrex <3 My Comments: Really sweet comfort fic with Shiro and Black.

Don’t Let Me Be Gone by Cocopops1995 Words: 1,402 Author’s Summary: Lance comforts Keith after watching Keith’s paladin vlog. My Comments: Really sweet. Angsty, hurty fics that end with cuddling are my favorite.

Keep Them Galra Rollin (Rawhide) by Demenior for Serbajean Words: 1,377 Author’s Summary: Sendak, Shiro, ‘n Ulaz have crashed on a jungle-y Death World, and they’ve got till sundown to speed-run their way to a safe pickup location to rendezvous with a ship. They’re all grown men who are working together to take down the Galra empire (some more willingly than others), which means they’re over the whole ‘yeah i tortured and killed you that one time’ thing. Totally over it. It’s all in the past. Hint: it’s not [a birthday gift for Sassafrassrex] My Comments: The possibilities of this setup are fun to contemplate. A little on the dark side, but nothing wrong with that.

Steady Footing by SilverMoon53 Words: 3,735 Author’s Summary: Pidge is good at many things. Coding, robotics, and sneaking into enemy bases to steal information, are all quite high on that list. People, however, are not one of the things she’s good at. Or Keith has a panic attack while on a mission. Pidge has an… interesting way of making sure he gets out alive. My Comments: Very angsty exploration of Pidge and Keith and their trauma. I’m glad they eventually shared with each other.

A Bland Night Across Space And Time by genericfanatic Words: 4,156 Author’s Summary: Across the universe, people have a night in. A reward fic for getting 1,000 followers for my blog Bland Voltron Headcanons My Comments: Bit of a dizzying trip across time and space, but fun to read.

Not Just Another Mall Trip by Eastofthemoon Words: 1,519 Author’s Summary: Lance, Hunk and Pidge see many different kinds of aliens at the space mall, but when they catch a spy they discover something they never expected to see there. My Comments: Really fun little canon-divergence AU with a very different way to bring the gang together. Everyone is adorable.

Papa Kitty: A Bonding Moment

When Lance went looking for the source of the noise he had been hearing he wasn’t sure what he was expecting. A room full of Galra, plus Keith, purring loudly was not anywhere on his list. He hadn’t even meant to enter the room. The castle was so big he had just gotten turned around and ended up entering the Blades lounging room. But somehow the large intimidating aliens purring like overgrown cats wasn’t the weirdest part of what he was looking at. Neither was the fact that instead of sitting in chairs the floor was littered with blankets and pillows that they sat on instead. No the weirdest part was Keith sitting with his back to Thace and humming in a constant tone loudly like it was completely normal until he noticed Lance standing in the door.

“Lance,” the Red Paladin said with a nod and waved him to come inside. “Everything alright? You look...” He trailed off, frowning.

Lance raised an eyebrow and felt his chest tighten. How did he look? What was Keith trying to say? Say something witty, he told himself sternly. Make a joke before it gets awkward. “Everything’s fine,” he said, forcing a smile. “I was just wondering what the purr-pose of the all the purr-fest was.” That was terrible, the little voice in his head said dryly. Maybe the floor could just eat you.

Keith’s head tilted to one side slowly. “Um... It’s... a bonding thing,” he said slowly.

“Oh, well,” Lance said, taking a step back. “I don’t want to intrude on that. So I’ll just be-” he took another step back and hit something large and solid. Looking up he saw Antok looming over him, the mask covering his face and a large tray of food behind held above his head with one hand. The other hand caught Lance when the teen jumped and almost tripped on a pillow sitting next to the door, the large fingers having an almost gentle grip on his bicep.

Keith was at his side, his shoulder rubbing against Antok’s forearm as he stepped between the Galra and Lance to look at him. “Why don’t you stay,” he suggested. “We’re just about to eat and there’s plenty for everyone.”

“I-I,” Lance stammered his arm released as Antok walked wordlessly into the room. “Isn’t this like private or something? You said it was bonding.”

“Yeah it’s bonding,” Keith said reaching out and touching Lance’s shoulder with his fingertips. “But it’s not really private and no one minds if you’re here. I’ve been trying to get the others to join us for a while but...” He trailed off again, taking his hand away and for a second Lance thought he saw something he recognized in Keith’s eyes. “They’ve all been too busy,” he said, clearing his throat. “With... stuff...”

“Oh,” Lance said softly, shifting uncomfortably. “Well... I guess I’m not busy with... stuff...” His chest tightened when Keith’s eyes widened slightly. “Plus I haven’t eaten yet so I guess I could hang out for a while... On one condition,” he added, a real smile curling his lips.

“What’s that,” Keith asked, his head tilting again.

“Could you tell me some stuff about growing up with Galra?” the Blue Paladin asked, glancing at the Blades around them. “Maybe explain the purring a bit more?”

“I guess I could do that,” Keith said, a smile growing on his lips. “So long as you tell me about what it was like on Earth. None of the others will talk much about it.”

“Alright, that seems fair,” Lance said after a moment of pretending to think. “So the purring? Why?”

Keith took hold of Lance’s hand and led him over to Thace, not seeming to notice the pulse under his fingers doubling. Without a word he turned Lance around so his back was to Thace who hadn’t looked up from cleaning a purple blade in his hands and pressed him onto the still warm pillow Lance had seen him on when he first walked in.

The questions on Lance’s lips died the moment his back touched Thace’s. Thace had been purring the entire time but when Lance made contact the sound had doubled and so did the vibrations. Lance felt it vibrate into his muscles and core, causing him to relax tension he didn’t realize he was holding. “Oh...” he said softly as Keith sat on a pillow opposite him. “That’s... that’s really nice actually.”

“Right?” Keith said leaning back as Antok set a few covered dishes between the teens.

“Okay so I get the purring,” Lance said, trying his best not to melt into Thace’s back too much though the Galra hardly seemed to notice. “But why were you humming?”

“I... I can’t purr,” Keith said his face turning red. “The humming is as close as I’ve ever been able to get.”

“Well, humans don’t purr, man,” Lance said raising an eyebrow.

“Your vocal cords aren’t shaped right for it,” Thace said, making Lance jump in surprise at the sudden voice. “Eat, both of you. Before it gets cold.”

“Yes, Papa,” Keith said, smirking slightly as he uncovered the steaming dishes and handed Lance a small bowl. “Just take whatever you like. There’s plenty. So, can you tell me more about oceans? Hunk mentioned something about them but he didn’t elaborate very much.”

“Oh, can I,” Lance said, using a spoon to scoop up what looked like rice to him. The two ended up talking all through their meal and after, sharing stories, experiences, describing the different worlds they grew up on. Lance told Keith about growing up on a tropical island surrounded by the ocean and family, spending all his free time outside on adventures with his siblings and cousins. Keith explained how he grew up on the hidden base of the Blades of Marmora with the closest kit his age being Antok who was easily fifteen deca-phoebs older than him and spent most of his childhood learning how to fight the Empire and keep himself and his family safe. Eventually the other Blades left the room to take care of other tasks but the teens remained, losing track of time together as they learned more about the other.

Thace would come at some point looking for Keith and find the teens asleep under a construction of pillows and blankets in one corner of the room, a video game game over screen lighting their sleeping faces. The father would smile at the sight and pull a blanket over each boy’s shoulders to keep them warm before backing out silently, leaving them to their sleep.

Real talk, I started writing this last night, spent a few hours trying to get it out before I had to go to sleep before work only to hate it and delete everything. This still isn’t perfect but it’s much much better than the terrible story I had last night.

Anyway, Keith and Lance bonding! And no one had to get blown up and come out of a coma to shoot a bad guy to make it happen! Keith being unsure how to approach the others is probably one of my favorite things to write about because not only is it totally canon but it just tugs at all my heartstrings and Lance seeing through that insecurity because he recognizes to some extent from himself is something I desperately want from the series. You can do it, Voltron! I believe in you!

Theories

The Theory of Narti

- This Theory was proven to be true in the episode ‘Black Site’. A little after season 3 dropped we were given the teaser trailer for season 4 and this screenshot made a lot of fans ask the question of who Lotor was attacking

From what we see in the screenshot, Lotor, Zethrid, Ezor, and Acxa are present but we don’t see Narti. One other thing about Narti is her cat, in the last episode of season 3, it was revealed that the cat originally belonged to Honerva/Haggar. So what are the chances that Narti is linked to Haggar? Very high seeing how things turned out the way they did.

Theory of Sam Holt/Matt’s Bounty

- I kept thinking about this and its possibility is very slim but personally this theory to me is one to really think about as a possibility. Am I the only one that notices Matt acts weird or off when he mentions his dad? Also, why is there a bounty on Matt and who wants to “take him alive”? This theory goes that Matt and his dad were saved by the same rebellion group either together or at separate times, most likely Matt first. At some point, Matt and Sam could’ve gotten themselves into trouble with a group of aliens- possibly getting ahold of some transmissions of the aliens that they didn’t want anyone else to hear. Now, this next part is very unlikely but bear with me, what if Matt’s dad got himself kidnapped by the aliens and in a sense sacrificed himself in some way to save Matt. This could explain why Matt acts kinda off when he ever mentions Sam to Pidge. I honestly feel this theory has a very slim chance of being possible, but this could raise some questions as to where Sam Holt is and why Matt has a bounty against him.

Every Upcoming Stephen King Movie After IT Chapter Two

IT Chapter 2 is the second movie of 2019 to be based on the work by legendary author Stephen King, but it won't be the last. For decades, King's novels have been the focus of dozens and dozens of movies, TV shows, and miniseries, and that trend shows no signs of slowing down in the coming years.

King's first novel to get the movie adaptation treatment was Carrie back in 1976. It was an absolute hit was horror fans, and filmmakers stuck to King's prolific body of work for new projects. Next up was The Shining in 1980, followed by heavy hitters like Creepshow, Cujo, and Children of the Corn. There were also TV projects such as Salem's Lot, IT, and The Stand. These adaptations continued for the next three decades and counting.

Andy Muschietti's IT was a monumental hit in 2017 and it got studios and producers turning their heads back to King's work. Some decided to take a chance at reimagining some of his more popular books while others dove deeper into his lesser-known novellas. It will be a mix of old and new for fans of King with the multitude of projects on tap. That said, here all of the Stephen King movies coming after IT Chapter 2.

The 2012 novella from King and his son, Joe Hill, will be making its way to Netflix in October. The movie adaptation for In the Tall Grass was announced in May 2018. Vincenzo Natali (Splice) signed on to direct the film shortly after the project was greenlit by the streaming service. Actor James Marsden was originally attached to the lead role but due to scheduling conflicts, Patrick Wilson was then cast. He will be joined by Laysla De Oliveira, Harrison Gilbertson, Avery Whitted, and Rachel Wilson.

In the Tall Grass follows a pair of siblings that hear a young boy crying for help in a large field of grass. They enter the field to find the boy but they soon find that there is no way out. The horror tale was originally written as a two-part series for Esquire magazine but it has since been adapted to e-book and audiobook form. Before the film's Netflix release, it will have its world premiere at Fantastic Fest in September 2019.

Doctor Sleep, the book that served as a sequel to The Shining, was published by King in 2013. Warner Bros. had interest in the sequel novel but they didn't fast track the idea until the box office success of 2017's IT. Mike Flanagan (The Haunting of Hill House) was then hired to direct the film. Doctor Sleep will serve as a direct adaptation but Flanagan promised that it would exist in the same universe that Stanley Kubrick created with The Shining movie. The cast of the sequel includes Ewan McGregor, Rebecca Ferguson, Kyliegh Curran, Carl Lumbly, Alex Essoe, Cliff Curtis, and Jacob Tremblay.

Doctor Sleep centers on Dan Torrance, now an adult that still suffers from the trauma that he experienced as a child at the Overlook Hotel. He tries to live a peaceful life but his life is turned upside down when he meets a teenage girl who shares the same psychic powers. The girl finds Dan in the hopes that he will help her with Rose the Hat and The True Knot, a group that preys on people with powers to gain immortality. Doctor Sleep opens October 30 worldwide and November 8 in the United States.

King's 2011 novella Mile 81 will be heading to the screen with production planned for fall 2019. The announcement came in February 2019, revealing that Alistair Legrand is set to direct the supernatural thriller. The movie will also be produced by Ross M. Dinerstein, who previously worked on the Netflix adaptation of King's 1922. The story about a sinister station wagon was later featured in the 2015 short story collection, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams. Casting for the feature film is currently underway.

In April, New Line Cinema announced their plans to adapt King's 1975 novel, Salem's Lot, for the big screen. Gary Dauberman is attached to write the script while James Wan (Aquaman) signed on to produce the feature film. As of now, there's no word on who will direct or star in the movie. The horror novel followed a writer named Ben Mears who traveled back to his hometown of Jerusalem's Lot (known as Salem's Lot for short) and found that everyone who once knew turned into a vampire. Salem's Lot was the focus of a TV movie in 1979 and a miniseries in 2004.

King released The Long Walk in 1979 under the pseudonym Richard Bachman. It was notably the first novel that King wrote but he didn't release it until he was an established author. The Long Walk was set in a dystopian future ruled by a totalitarian dictator. The story centered on an annual walking contest where participants could be shot dead if they don't keep up their speed. George A. Romero had an interest in adapting the novel in the late '80s but it never came into fruition. In April 2018, New Line Cinema officially announced their plans to adapt the story into a movie. In late May 2019, André Øvredal signed on as director.

In April 2019, Legendary Pictures announced their intent to adapt King's 2003 short story, Rest Stop. The tale, written for an issue of Esquire, focused on a man who intervened during a domestic dispute at a rest stop. Alex Perry Ross (Her Smell) has been confirmed to write and direct the feature film. Ross is expected to keep his script close to the source material by featuring a cat-and-mouse thriller. It was also revealed that some of the characters could be gender-swapped.

George A. Romero was reportedly planning on developing a movie based on King's 1999 novel, The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon but plans fell apart prior to the director's death. In August 2019, it was announced that the wife of the legendary director, Chris Romero, was taking on the project with Roy Lee (IT) and Jon Berg. The story followed a young girl who got lost in the woods during a hike. She wandered alone for nine days and due to the severe dehydration, she hallucinated, thinking she was talking to her idol, baseball player Tom Gordon. The young girl also thought she was being followed by a supernatural monster. The production team is currently searching for a writer and director for The Girl Who Loved Tom Gordon film.

Firestarter - King's popular 1980 novel, Firestarter, is set to get another big-screen adaptation. The novel was previously adapted for a film in 1984. Drew Barrymore notably starred as the young girl with pyrokinetic abilities. The remake is coming from Universal and Blumhouse with Faith Akin set to direct. There have been no further details since the June 2018 announcement.

The Tommyknockers - King's 1987 sci-fi novel, The Tommyknockers, wasn't the author's favorite but it will indeed by the basis for yet another adaptation. The story about an alien spacecraft and mass hysteria was first made into a TV miniseries in 1993, starring Jimmy Smits and Marg Helgenberger. In March 2018, it was announced that James Wan and Roy Lee plan to produce the upcoming movie.

From a Buick 8 - King's 2002 horror novel, From a Buick 8, was first rumored to be made into a movie in 2005 through George A. Romero. Tobe Hooper then took over as director but the development stalled in 2009 due to financial issues. In 2018, it was announced that the movie adaptation was back on track with William Brent Bell set to write and direct.

Drunken Fireworks - The short story featured in King's collection, The Bazaar of Bad Dreams, was set to become a film as stated by an announcement during June 2016. Drunken Fireworks focused on a clue-collar mechanic and a retired mob boss after they face off in a Fourth of July fireworks competition. James Franco was announced to star in the film and there was interest from the actor to direct as well. The script was reportedly being written by Matt Rager but no updates have been released in the last few years.

Castle Rock - The horror anthology series created by Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason is inspired by the characters and themes invented by King. The Hulu original is set in King's fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine. Season 2 of Castle Rock premieres on October 23, 2019, and it will feature Lizzy Caplan as a younger version of Annie Wilkes, the character from Misery.

Mr. Mercedes - The third season of Mr. Mercedes is set to begin in mid-September 2019. The crime drama is based on King's trilogy, Mr. Mercedes, Finders Keepers, and End of Watch. The story follows Bill Hodges, a retired detective, on the hunt of a killer that took the lives of sixteen people. Mr. Mercedes stars Brendan Gleeson. Harry Treadaway, Jharrel Jerome, and Holland Taylor.

Lisey’s Story - King's 2006 novel, Lisey's Story, will be the basis of a miniseries on Apple TV+. The psychological horror tells the story of the widow of a famous author. The woman, Lisey, struggles to adapt to her everyday life while also sharing details into her dead husband's past. Julianne Moore will portray the role of Lisey and the TV series will be directed by Josh Boone.

The Outsider - The Outsider is one of King's more recent novels getting the screen adaptation. It will be the focus of an upcoming HBO miniseries starring Jason Bateman. The actor will portray a popular teacher accused of murdering and mutilating the body of a young boy. As the detective in the case follows the incident, he learns that something much more sinister was responsible.

The Dark Tower - King's popular book, The Dark Tower, received a film adaptation in 2017 with Idris Elba and Matthew McConaughey. It wasn't received well by viewers and critics but that didn't slow down interest in future projects based on the series. In 2018, it was announced that Amazon was developing a show based on the books and it would serve as a reboot. Sam Strike and Jasper Pääkkönen were cast in the leads and the cast also includes Michael Rooker, Jerome Flynn, and Joana Ribeiro.

The Stand - King's 1978 post-apocalyptic horror will be remade into a miniseries for CBS All Access in the near future. The novel featured a world that was almost entirely wiped out due to a strain of influenza. There was talk about adapting the novel into a feature film for decades before it was turned into a miniseries in 1994. King rewrote the end of the novel for the upcoming show. The Stand will star James Marsden, Amber Heard, Odessa Young, and Henry Zaga.
