As a blue collar woman, I've talked to a lot of men who have done different things before coming to our current trade, but one thing I've always noticed when they tell me in their life stories is about the women. A crab boat in the middle of the icy ocean. Evacuating small houses deep in a forest during a forest fire. Gold mines driving shovels bigger than you could ever imagine. I never ask about them, they always willingly tell me. And it's always positive. About how tough the women are, built "like leather" how well they kept up with the men, how hard they worked.
Women have always worked just as hard as men, if not harder. Don't ever let them tell you otherwise

Preventing and Addressing Cast Iron Sewer Pipe Corrosion
Preventing or mitigating cast iron sewer pipe corrosion requires proactive measures and timely interventions. One of the most effective strategies is scheduling regular inspections to assess the condition of the pipes. During inspections, professionals can identify early signs of corrosion and recommend appropriate treatments.
Applying protective coatings, such as epoxy liners, can shield the pipe’s interior from moisture and corrosive substances, effectively extending its service life.
When corrosion is advanced, pipe relining or full replacement may be necessary. Relining involves inserting a durable, corrosion-resistant lining into the existing pipe to restore its structural integrity without the need for excavation. For severely deteriorated pipes, replacing them with modern materials like PVC or HDPE can provide a long-term solution.
Additionally, addressing the root causes of corrosion is vital. This includes managing the pH levels of wastewater to minimize acidity, improving drainage systems to reduce stagnant water, and ensuring proper ventilation in sewer lines to limit the formation of hydrogen sulfide gas.
Consulting a plumbing expert ensures that the most effective strategies are implemented for preventing and addressing cast iron sewer pipe corrosion, protecting both your plumbing system and your property.

Pairing: Line Cook!Azriel x Reader
Summary: Azriel loves you so much. Even though you can't cook. You're trying though.
Word count: 1.3k
Warnings: A small injury
a/n: Consider this a small gift to make up for me disappearing for a month <3 This is part of the line cook au, but as I've mentioned, nothing is really in order so read however you want :) The rest of this AU can be found in my masterlist right there ⬇ love you <3
Main Masterlist ♡
~~
“Like this?” You shook the pan a little harder, the handle's weight tweaking your wrist at an odd angle.
“Almost. Try not to hold your elbow so close to your body. It won’t flip right.”
You pressed your lips together and narrowed your eyes. “This is so hard.”
“I believe in you,” Azriel teased, an amused upturn of his eyes as he watched you struggle.
“Why is this pan so heavy? It’s literally like 40 pounds.”
“It’s cast iron, baby.”
“That’s stupid.”
Azriel barked out a laugh, red tinting his cheeks as if he hadn’t expected the sound to leave his lips. Your mouth quirked up in a small smile despite your struggle. You shot your gaze to the side to try and catch the sweet expression that still lingered on Azriel’s face.
“Would you like me to do it?” Azriel posed after clearing his throat.
“Of course not. I came early so you could teach me.”
“I could teach you another time. You have class soon.”
“Why do you want me to fail?”
“I don’t—”
“You totally do. You want me unable to cook for myself so I’ll always have to rely on you, and then I’ll never be able to leave you.”
Azriel laughed again, a quiet, rumbling sound. “You caught me. Now hand that over before you hurt yourself.”
You groaned and turned slightly to evade your boyfriend’s reach. “Az, I’m serious. Teach me how to flip these stupid eggs right now.”
“Okay, okay. Just let me help.”
The feel of Azriel’s hand lightly sliding over yours startled you. You jumped and your fingers twitched, the sudden motion sending the tips of your fingers too far forward until a simmering pain shot through your skin. You flung the pan back on the burner instantly, its contents splattering along the stove and into the open flame. It burned a bright orange and then settled as you held your hand close to your chest.
You hissed a breath through your teeth and Azriel’s hands were on you.
“Shit, baby, let me see, yeah?” he stressed, mindlessly turning the burner off without taking his eyes off you. He tugged your hand at your chest with gentle fingers. “Let me see.”
You released the tight grip on your fingers and rested them in Azriel’s open palm. “I was just surprised. I don’t think it’s that bad.”
Azriel’s brow furrowed as he examined your burn. He tsked, pulling you gently by your wrist over to the sink. “It’s going to blister.”
Cool water rushed from the pipes and soothed your skin. Azriel held your wrist in a soft grip and turned your hand slowly, back and forth in a repetitive motion.
“I don’t think so, Az. It’s not that bad.”
Azriel shook his head. “That pan was pretty hot—I’d be surprised if it didn’t.” He looked up at you. “I’m sorry, baby. I didn’t mean to scare you.”
You offered a gentle smile and pressed a kiss to his jaw. “You didn’t scare me.” You raised your brow playfully. “You just made me nervous. A cute guy like you holding my hand—reaching over to help me to cook. Made me all jumpy.”
Azriel breathed out a disbelieving scoff. “I’ve done far worse than just hold your hand.”
“Scandalous!” you proclaimed, affronted. “How can you say such things at work, Azriel? You’ll be fired.”
“I can only hope,” Azriel grumbled.
Azriel directed you to keep your hand under the water as he dug through a cabinet for the first-aid kit despite your protests. You truly felt that you were fine and didn’t even need a bandaid, but it was easy to forget the multitude of scars that littered Azriel’s hands and how they contrasted with your completely unmarred skin.
That was purposeful, meaningful—Azriel worked hard so you wouldn't have to. Azriel found peace in keeping you safe and happy.
So you let him fuss.
“Okay, let me see again, baby,” Azriel requested, flipping the water off and reaching for your hand. Your skin stung as it met the air beyond the sink, but Azriel’s caring touch was like a balm.
He dried your fingers with a towel and uncapped a spray bottle, coating your burn with too much of the medication before grabbing a set of gauze and tape. You stared at the materials in exasperation. Azriel didn’t notice the expression and continued to admisinister care as if you’d been in a fire.
“Az, I love you so much, but I don’t need all of that. It’s a small burn. I’ve probably done worse with my curling iron.”
Your boyfriend only hummed and continued his work. “I don’t want it to scar. It blistered already.”
“Yes, but—”
“Almost done.”
You let him work. A few moments of silence passed. Azriel kept his gaze hard and his brow set in a harsh line.
That wouldn’t do.
Once your finger was fully wrapped and protected from everything Azriel could fear, you puckered your lips in contemplation and shook your head.
“Still hurts really bad,” you admitted, leaning back against the counter. Azriel followed your movements, leaving little space between you.
“What?” he questioned, a tinge of panic in his tone. “That should’ve numbed it. How bad does it hurt?”
“Really, really bad. Like my whole hand is on fire, actually.”
Azriel—who had yet to release your fingers—stared down at them in startled befuddlement. He turned them one way and then another as if that would answer his questioning gaze, and then looked back up to meet your eyes in a way that was almost pleading.
“I’m sorry, maybe I should—”
“You have to kiss it,” you revealed, not wanting the sad expression to linger on his face any longer. “Duh.”
Azriel let out a breath that bordered on relief, but most of it seemed founded in exasperation. He shook his head and brought your fingers up to his lips all the same, smiling to himself as he began to kiss each of your fingertips. Even the ones that clearly weren’t burnt. He flipped your hand over and kissed the knuckles, too, capturing your eyes as he glanced at you from beneath his lashes.
“‘M sorry you got hurt,” he mumbled with his lips against the back of your hand. “Told you you shouldn’t try cooking, baby.”
The warm feeling that had begun to seep into your chest paled in comparison to the offended scoff that echoed in the empty kitchen. Azriel’s poorly concealed, devious smile was hidden in the kisses he started pressing into your palm, and although it would have fit the sound you let out, you didn’t pull away.
“Azriel, you are just asking for me to—”
“The hell is going on in here?” The kitchen door smacked against the frame as Cassian made his entrance. “Someone get hurt?”
Azriel dropped your hand just as soon as Cassian had spotted him pressed against you, clearing his throat and turning to the disheveled first-aid kit on the counter. You brought your knuckles up to your mouth to hide your laugh at Azriel’s expense, his face flushing in vulnerability.
“Oh, I see what was going on. You were romancing your girl, weren’t you, Az? Well, don’t let me interrupt. You came in early and everything,” Cassian teased, his hands raised in surrender.
“We were just finishing up,” you countered, a laugh trickling through. “I have to get to class, Cass. You can start your shift.”
“Uh huh,” Cassian smiled, raising his brows and then lowering them when he caught your hand reaching for your backpack. “You okay?”
“She’s fine,” Azriel interrupted. He took your bag from you and slung it over his shoulder, pressing a nonchalant kiss to your head that you knew was actually not nonchalant. “I’m going to take her to school. Cover for me for 20?”
“Sure, man.”
“Az, I was going to take the bus you don’t have to—”
“C’mon, baby.”
“But I don’t even have my helmet for your bike.”
“I always bring your helmet.”

I really wanna fire a cannon. Like one of those old black powder 24 pounders or a modern m777… doesn’t matter as long as I can Feel the power of artillery
(But also I wanna yell one liners over a radio net as I fire, with something like “I cast… Wizard blast!!” or something equally silly)

The sound of boots pounding against concrete echoed in the night as you and Simon sprinted across the rooftop. The city lights glowed dimly beneath the thick fog, casting long shadows across your path. The group of assassins chasing you wasn’t far behind, their voices barking orders through the air like hunting dogs closing in on their prey.
Simon glanced back, his face set in a grim mask. "Keep moving!" he barked, his deep voice cutting through your growing fatigue.
Ahead, a gap between the buildings yawned wide, an alleyway that seemed impossibly vast. Simon didn’t hesitate. With a powerful leap, he cleared the chasm, landing solidly on the opposite roof. He rolled to absorb the impact, then scrambled to his feet, immediately turning back to you.
“Come on!” he shouted, holding out a hand.
Your chest heaved, every muscle in your legs screaming from exertion. You pushed yourself harder, barreling toward the edge. But as you launched yourself into the air, Simon’s eyes widened. You weren’t going to make it.
“Damn it.” he growled. Without hesitation, he grabbed the rope he’d secured moments earlier to a vent pipe and dove back toward the gap, swinging down to meet you mid-air.
Your stomach flipped as you realized he wasn’t on solid ground anymore, his arms reaching out like a lifeline. Gravity yanked you downward, but then his hands caught your wrist, iron-strong and unyielding.
“I’ve got you!” he grunted, his muscles straining as the rope swung the two of you into the side of the building.
Your breath hitched as you dangled, the city spinning below. “Simon!”
“Don’t look down!” he barked, his voice sharp and commanding. His grip tightened as he wrapped the rope around his other arm, bracing himself.
The pipe groaned above, the weight of you both testing its limits. Simon's face was inches from yours, his dark eyes blazing with determination. “You’re not slipping out of this,” he said, his voice low and steady despite the tension in the air.
With a grunt, he began pulling you up, every movement controlled and deliberate. It felt like an eternity before he finally hoisted you up onto his chest, anchoring you with one arm as he maneuvered the rope.
“Hold on to me,” he ordered.
You clung to him as he climbed back up, his strength almost superhuman as he dragged the two of you onto the roof. When you were finally on solid ground, he collapsed beside you, both of you gasping for breath.
For a long moment, neither of you spoke, the adrenaline crashing hard. Then Simon turned his head toward you, his mask partially askew, revealing the sharp line of his jaw.
“You ever scare me like that again,” he rasped, no daring to sit up just yet, “and I’ll kill you myself.”
Despite the situation, you couldn’t help but huff a weak laugh. “Noted.”
His gaze softened as he reached over, brushing a stray strand of hair from your face. “I mean it,” he murmured, quieter now.
“I didn’t plan on it,” you replied, your voice trembling.
He nodded once, then helped you to your feet. “Good,” he said, his tone gruff but his actions gentle. “Now let’s get out of here.”
(THIS FUCKING SCENE THIS THIS THING??? IN MY BRAIN FOR WEEKS.) Anyway, any feedback or anything like that you got I would be super duper thankful for. I'm not new to Tumblr but I am to the writing and posting part, so truly, feedback means sooooo much! BYEEEE

the car broke down by the denny's where you used to work and therefore could never return to. i am trying to pick out the satisfying parts of my life, one-by-one, like i am 12 and in a frog dissection. everything in my life all viscera and formaldehyde. if i can sort the good things from the bad things, i will have a nice clean pile.
i call you and make it sound like i am happy and hangin' in there! when really i am kicking a rock and i am outside without a jacket and i am so in love with you it makes the little bones in my ear shake. someone called my tinnitus an angel choir. i like that it means i carry the echo of every concert.
this isn't the right setting for love. this is a roadside, and a denny's, and i am nauseous and ashamed i never escaped the town where i grew up. the clouds here are this strange yellow, like spilled sour milk. "someone once told me that the orange coating on the teeth of a beaver is due to the particularly high rate of iron in their enamel," i tell you. "the beaver is the largest rodent native to north america."
your voice is crackly on the other end. i'm going into a garage soon, i might lose you.
what i should be doing is calling the tow truck and explaining that my brother's car (that i'm borrowing) (that i broke now, i guess) needs to be lifted by another, bigger, stronger car (which is love too, i guess).
i shouldn't say so much. i should wait, and let you ask about my mom, and ask if i ever got over that cold, or how it's going at work. i should let you lead the conversation, for once, so the love doesn't leak out of me into the gravel. i open my mouth anyway. "if you had to choose between being a beaver with very few trees or being a tree around a bunch of beavers, which would it be?"
i don't know. your voice always has this warm cast to it when you talk to me, but maybe i am just imagining that - i am a poet, though, so i imagine things sort of chronically. through the static, you sound like you're laughing. are you the beaver?
i know, like, logically, not to fall in love with a girl-that-is-your-best-friend. like, who would i even call if we broke up? you're my best friend, you're the person i'd want to speak to. so what if these last few months we keep sleeping over at each other's houses, calling each other for hours, sending each other poems. so what if you keep wrapping your fingers into mine. no best friends. that is the first rule. what you are supposed to do in that situation is leave the situation.
but my car broke down, so. where exactly am i going to go? the car is a very-old chevvy and also where i almost-but-not-quite kissed you after you'd raised one shoulder and looked up at me and said i don't know, i think i'm straight, but for the right person - i'd try anything. the music had been good and it had been raining and your thick eyelashes had made me feel god crawling up my throat like a spider. and i didn't kiss you, because i am a coward.
anyway on the chevy the whole exhaust pipe fell out, and is now scraping on the ground like one silver finger stroking the back of the highway. recently we were watching netflix in my bed and you pushed my hair back from my face like you were making the slowest, most desperate prayer, and then your boyfriend called. i remember us both jumping. i couldn't look at you in the eyes for like a week after. i kept feeling the heat of your fingerprint; computer science, you'd unlocked something dark in me.
google says the closest tow (joe's pick up) is 50 minutes away and also closed permanently. so that's not great. you live in another state and i should be calling my insurance company. i should be calling anybody else. this is not helping. i need an uber. i need to get moving. instead i say: "i need three words for a poem."
yesterday i said love you, goodnight after our 2 hour call like always and then you just, like. paused. all i could hear was your breathing. and then you'd said what a pretty three-word poem. i love you too, sweet thing. the words made my tinnitus act up again, and i must have some kind of synesthesia, because the sound travelled into my mind until it became the shape wedding rings.
orange, you say. the static is now chewing through most of your words and i only catch - borrowing the chevy -
the call dies. i have 12% battery. i never get the 3rd word, but i know you're still going to get a poem from me. actually this rest stop is kind of pretty, and so is the exhaust pipe, and so is joe's pick up, and so are the clouds. the light here is the color of a glue trap. before you worked at the denny's, we used to get milkshakes every wednesday and called it a friend date. you said you'd wanted to work there because it reminded you of me.
the sign's gone dim. the letters now spell out deny. and isn't that something.

It's the most wonderful time of the month :D, at least for me as I get to share a new set of items with you. Inspired by my trip to New York City I finally got started on the build items.
This month I concentrated on the interior and created objects that I thought were quite typical for the lofts that I saw in Soho. To divide up your space you will not only get several types of patinated metal doors but also a system of room dividers for all three wall heights. Cast iron buildings structurally include columns, therefore I created a Corinthian one for this collection. To add more charm to your New York City loft, you can decorate it with pipes, sprinklers, light switches a socket, a radiator, and exit signs for further security :D. I added a couple of windows already this month but will expand the set of windows next month when I work on the Exterior Part.
I'm sure you all saw the New 'For Rent' expansion pack trailer, I am so excited for a rental system, and what perfect timing. I am trying to observe the new expansion pack and see what kind of game mechanics I can include in the SOHO set :)
This Set is on Early Access and you can find it here
Once again thank you for the luv and support I really appreciate it!
All the best and lots of kisses,
Felix xxx

"Batman-02, requesting access to the Yellow Sun Room," Bruce said.
"Access granted. Welcome, Batman," the robotic voice intoned, and the door slid open.
Bruce stepped into the room, the UV lighting casting a purple glow. His eyes immediately fell on the figure huddled in the corner.
"Clark, how are you feeling?" Bruce asked, deliberately keeping his voice low, careful not to agitate Clark’s heightened senses.
A garbled sound came from the man. Bruce stared at him, uncomprehending for a moment, before realizing that Clark was speaking in Kryptonian. His language processing centers hadn’t recovered yet.
"Everything feels wrong," Clark moaned. "My heartbeat’s like a bad drummer at a rock concert, my nerves are firing off everywhere, my tear ducts won’t stop leaking, and... and I sound like an unhinged Decepticon!"
Bruce sighed softly and set aside the tray he was carrying. Without a word, he stood in front of Clark, arms extended in silent invitation. Clark hesitated only for a moment before pushing himself off the ground, gratefully collapsing into Bruce’s embrace.
Clark was always a mess right after a kryptonite extraction surgery. His body was so focused on healing that it temporarily forgot how to simulate human physiological reactions. Thankfully, the Yellow Sun Room helped regulate his temperature and blocked out the overwhelming sensory input from the outside world.
"Give it time, Clark," Bruce said, his voice steady and calming. "Your body just needs to recalibrate. Try to slow your breathing, and listen to my heartbeat."
Clark nodded weakly and pressed his ear against Bruce's chest, taking a deep breath and attempting to sync his heart rate with Bruce's steady rhythm.
"That’s it," Bruce encouraged. "Let me know if your symptoms get worse, okay? And don’t worry about your voice—you sound like a respectable robot to me."
"Optimus Prime?" Clark asked, looking up hopefully.
"Is that what the robot in Dick’s favorite movie is called?" Bruce said. "The small, yellow one."
Clark frowned. "Bumblebee? But... he couldn’t talk."
"He could," Bruce corrected. "It’s just that no one understood him."
Clark buried his face into Bruce’s shoulder, sobbing harder.
"But I can, and that’s all that matters for now," Bruce quickly reassured him. Clark sniffled, curiously peeking over Bruce's shoulder.
"Something smells good."
"Iron bars and steel pipes, spiced with mini uranium bombs. You need to replenish your vitamins," Bruce said, relieved to see Clark’s mood lightening.
Clark’s eyes lit up. "You got me uranium bombs too?"
Bruce led him to the small dining table. "Yes, and let me tell you, they’re not easy to make."
As they sat down, Bruce stayed close, holding Clark’s hand to help maintain their synced physiological reactions while Clark eagerly scarfed down the food Bruce had prepared.
