This is how I know Elucien is going to get together SJM wanted Lucian and Nesta wanted them to be mates, but then she realized that they would tear each other apart and not in a good way. then she decided to make Lucian and Elain mates.

In my opinion, SJM always wanted Lucian with a sister. if she was gonna do a rejected bond with Lucien, why not it be with Nesta and do the whole love triangle thing with Cassien instead of Elain and Azriel, if she was gonna make it a rejected bond also why put Gwyn and make it a love square if Azriel and Elain, are to get together why put Gwyn in the mix in the first place?

Its not as infuriating as acomaf but its still… bad.

Point 1: the court of ignorance and dumbassery

Lets cut to the chase. why the FUCK didnt feyre read Tamlin and Luciens minds at ANYPOINT while she was doin her hot girl shit of taking the spring court down??? huh sjm??? why is your fmc only powerful when convenient. So much could have been cut down. Acowar was way too long.

The whole destroying of the spring court didnt even make that much sense. Im all for a girlie getting back at the people who wronged her but feyre ended up hurting a lot of innocent people in the process. Feyre even tries to ignore the consequences of her actions. She had to invade peoples minds and manipulate people to get them to turn against tamlin and all this could have been avoided if she read his damn mind and learned he was a double agent. Lucien even hinted towards it

Then once she leaves the spring court i found myself frankly not caring. Acomaf hadnt given me enough to care about the inner circle so i didnt and sjm cant make me like rhysand. which i have so many gripes but for word counts sake let me name my main ones

here we have sjm acknowledging that yeah, rhysand Sexually Assaulted Feyre UtM in Acotar. Without her consent he dressed her inappropriately (which she was uncomfortable with) had her dance provocatively in his lap, kissed her, and made her drink alcohol so she wouldn't remember the details all without her consent. Yet Sjm is going “its fine” now and feyre herself going “you just dont get it…” ⁉️⁉️⁉️

Now see if sjm actually planned for rhysand to become the love interest why didnt she just avoid all this by having Amarantha make rhysand do this to feyre? Because that would have solved some issues but no. Because Rhysand did all this of his own free will in acotar. He actively chose to do this to feyre. To humiliate her and anger Tamlin because rhysand is obsessed with Tamlin.

Rhysand also loves to not tell his own court things. I was and still am very angry over him not telling Mor, Azriel, Cassien and at the very least his Wife about his plan with the court of nightmares. Just why.

Mors anger towards Nesta also makes no sense. sjm stop writing girl on girl hate challenge impossible

Point three: That one toy story scene “I dont wanna play with you anymore!”

Now tamlin. Tamlin tamlin tamlin im so sorry love for what sjm has done to you. If i start ill never stop. What Tamlin said to feyre and rhysand at the high lords meeting was out of pocket but he also wasnt wrong about some things. Also from established character these actions make no sense and his actions havent made sense since acomaf because sjm threw him and his character away to play with shadow daddy and bad morals. But she also cant commit to making a character of hers actually evil so tamlin saves the whole day by bringing the autumn court to fight and saving rhysand life. Tamlin has redeemed himself by sjm standards but she then wrote the holiday novel which i have read and detested.

Overall the plot was fine. i guess. it probably looked better when compared to the characters.

Sjm learn to redeem characters outside of “ooh they were abused and have trauma so everything they do is okay” for guys and “she fell in love/had sex with the most PERFECT MALE TO EVER MASCULINE.” its boring and flat. Also i know what happens in Acosf (i will not be reading that ty) so wtf happened to Nesta bro. she got the tamlin treatment. boooo 👎

as a result of being born after mordremoth died, when the pale tree was still very unwell, he awoke with an extremely heightened sense of empathy; although all sylvari can feel each others' feelings to a degree, to cassien it was all-encompassing and unbearable, leaving him unable to tell which feelings belonged to him.

desperate for anything that could help, he was groomed into joining the nightmare court, where he was set up as a squire under a knight and suffered abuse at his, and the other courtiers', hands. the knight he served under had a fierce rivalry with another in the court, and cassien was more often than not caught up in between the two of them.

before the start of PoF, the commander is back in mainland tyria. the rival knight, seeking to get back at his enemy, gives cas a cruel ultimatum; kill the commander, or suffer. cassien can't say no, even though he knows it'll be impossible. still, it's a better alternative. so he seeks out atlaki, sneaking onboard the airship that's set for elona...only to become an unwilling stowaway when the ship sets off with him trapped on board.

he's quickly discovered but lies about his intentions, and is allowed to stay. he grows close to the commander, first as a ruse to get close enough to kill him, but later developing a genuine fondness for him - as much as he denies it. he's bewildered by the kindness atlaki shows him, and for the first time in his life, away from so many other sylvari, he starts to feel better.

the threats of the court, the influence of nightmare, and a lifetime of abuse hang over his head, but slowly, he comes to realize he doesn't want to kill atlaki. it's something he fights against for a long time, even up to the point when atlaki finds out his true intentions. but for the first time, he can do what he wants, even if that means going against everything he's ever been told.

Lewis is a great friend of mine, i looked up to him as a kid and he was always so supportive, we stay friends when i switch teams

The St. Cassien Chamber Choir and DnD

Ricky:

I know damn well this man is both the best player and dm for DnD 

Could totally make a bitchin’ homebrew and have elements to add to make his players’ characters develop and have side quests catered to them

He’d also have things that the players will like, ex. being able to explore, make friends/enemies/etc with npcs, fights, learn lore, and all that stuff

Make his own little DnD club in the group

Very creative dm and player and his characters are the coolest

He likes being dm more than player because that’s when he can do what he does best and be creative with things like npcs, plot, and flow

However, he’s a good player too

Penny/Jane:

Didn’t know how to play at all but was interested in the idea of making a character and having them go on little adventures

Ricky teaches her the rules, how to play, and the over all abc’s of DnD

She likes playing but she also likes the different dice and the designs they can have

Would have a collection of DnD dice of all kinds of colors 

Would tell Ezra about it and teaches him too and lets him have some of her dice

The first to be part of the unofficial “DnD club”

She makes the most interesting characters and combos

 Misha:

Didn’t really get DnD

“You roll theeze dice and have all theeze papours? For what?”

He plays video games at home and some other board games whenever the group hangs out but he’s never seen someone play DnD before

He probably walked in on Penny and Ricky playing and asked what they were doing

One of the two explains a bit to which Misha just kind of watches to see what exactly they’re doing

He pretends that he thinks it’s lame but in reality he thinks it looks fun and wants to join

Would play a barbarian, bard, or rouge or something

He acts out his attacks a bit and it always makes Penny and Ricky giggle /pos

He makes is character the rough and tough member of the party

Misha lowkey gets really happy when he realizes that he’s part of the “club”

If anyone makes fun of DnD he will straight up tell them that it’s cool and that you get to fight monsters and shit, with his whole gangster tone and everything 

Constance:

She learns about the little club through someone like Ricky or Penny, maybe Ezra off-handedly mentions it.

She knows what it is in the sense that it’s a roleplay game but doesn’t really know how to play

At first she offers to come over to bring/make the group snacks so they can eat as they play and watches as the three (sometimes four if Ezra wants to play)

She actually wouldn’t learn and start playing till the group is deciding a new campaign after finishing their latest one

Constance would be unsure even though she knows how gameplay works by watching Penny and Misha play but doesn’t really know the rest

They teach her about all the stuff involved in making and playing a character and all the checks and stuff

The group would agree on doing a oneshot campaign or short campaign when and if constance wants to give it a try

She was so cute when she was playing. She was all nervous 

“Initiative? Oh no! We have to fight it?” “Did I do a good roll?” “Did I do it right?”

She gets the hang of it pretty soon and is more confident, which leaves room for more fun

She’s more of the pacifist in the party and is the one to talk with npcs in slightly tense situations in game

Ricky respects that cause he’s also the “Talk first before fighting”

Her characters are always the sweetest 

Ocean:

She finds out about the club through Constance

At first she’s a bit insulted/shocked that there’s been a secret club among what is basically the whole group and she wasn’t one of the people in it?

What? Is she not cool enough for a secret DnD club...

... even though she doesn’t know how to play at all, or how it works

She doesn’t go to the group and ask how to play

No no, this is Ocean O’Connell Rosenberg we’re talking about

Ocean asks for/buys the players handbook and learns how it works, the races, classes, alignments, the whole alphabet of DnD 

Then she goes to the group and asks to join 

At first they’re a bit hesitant because they know how Ocean can be when it comes to games

But they decide to let her in and Ricky can find a way to bring her in once she makes a character, but they sort of put their foot down and tell her that DnD isn’t competitive amongst players 

She agrees to not be competitive but she’s still Ocean and does Ocean things

She’s actually a really good sport and a good player as well but obviously our girl likes to shine a bit

It’s nothing new to everyone else, Ocean will be her

Noel:

He’s not into dorky stuff like that

But he also doesn’t like being excluded so he joins the group and watches them play when he has the time off from work or something

He’s actually a really good audience, gasps at all the drama and twists

Ricky, being his cool ass self, actually lets Noel be more than just an audience and will have him be the voices and act as some of the npcs

Basically Ricky will feed Noel the npc’s emotions, character, all that and Noel, being quite the actor, will act accordingly

Noel wouldn’t really say he’s in the club as a player but the rest kind of say he is, so he sort of accepts the inclusion 

It doesn’t matter they’re all having fun who cares
