Where the Bad Batch would go on Vacation
Tech
He would want to visit somewhere with lots of nature. With new plants and animals so that he can study them.
He wants to show Omega her first water fall.
He would love to take a safari, but Hunter says no because at least one of his children the batch is bound to wander and end up in a fight with a rhino or something(his bet is on Wrecker, but Tech bets it would be Crosshair)
He chooses hiking trails and spends all day in them.
Wrecker gets poison ivy because Crosshair pushed him. Omega runs ahead all the time and climbs on all the rocks and almost twists her ankle (almost gives Hunter and Echo heart attacks)
Batcher loves it.
Crosshair and Wrecker
Him and Wrecker finally agree on something together. They choose an amusement park. The whole batch wins a bunch of carnival games for Omega. She comes home with a dozen stuffed animals.
Omega loves all the kiddie rides. The whole batch is willing to try all the rides ("Can't be half as bad as Tech's flying").
Omega eats too much cotton candy and popcorn that she gets a stomach ache.
Tech is fascinated by the rides' mechanisms and always asks the employees about them (he gets a bit frustrated when none of them know the answers)
Hunter
He would like to go somewhere calm with nothing dangerous where he can finally get a good night's rest. He would probably choose a cruise - he and Echo can just sit on the poolside and sleep while Omega and Wrecker hit the kid's casinos, Crosshair plays pickleball, Tech goes and bothers the captain because he's "steering the boat in an inefficient way"
Echo
Unbeknownst to anyone, Echo is the ultimate trip planner. He chooses a beach hotel (that allows dogs) with lots of activities for children, a shooting range, pickleball courts (Crosshair has gotten obsessed), lots of museums (Tech drags them all to one for a day). There are sandcastle building contests and the batch wins one day after building Omega her own sand castle (big enough for her to play in).
Echo likes seeing everyone getting along and can relax (Hunter deals with all the arguments, it's Echo's time off)

Today's compilation:
"Carnival Time" The Best of Ric Records, Volume One 1988 R&B / Soul
A bunch of excellent late 50s/early 60s R&B and soul tunes to be found on this comp that recounts the history of Ric Records, an important label in New Orleans that quietly helped to shape the city's unique R&B sound despite not receiving almost any national attention at the time. The biggest hit on this album is Joe Jones' "You Talk Too Much," which would go to #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1960, but the rest appear to have gone on to be a whole lot more obscure. Jones would later discover The Dixie Cups too, the girl group who'd deliver such hits as the Leiber & Stoller-penned "Chapel of Love," which would go to #1 in '64—and was arranged by Jones himself—and "Iko Iko," a classic New Orleans folk tune that they were really the first to popularize the following year.
But honestly, while Joe Jones yielded Ric's most popular hit, he's not the reason to give this album a listen. "You Talk Too Much" feels simple and hacky as compared to the album's peppier and sax-laced title track, Al Johnson's "Carnival Time"—a local Mardi Gras classic—and the piercing and passionate voices of people like Lenny Capello, who's on a brash tip with "Cotton Candy," and Johnny Adams, Tommy Ridgley, and Eddie Bo, who are all far more soulful.
So if you want a taste of old New Orleans that goes much deeper than oldies standards like Frankie Ford's "Sea Cruise" and Huey "Piano" Smith's "Rockin' Pneumonia and the Boogie-Woogie Flu"—the two New Orleans tunes that record companies get licenses for whenever they put out their generic oldies comps—then a significant chunk of this stuff is pure dynamite.
And if you want more of this Bayou State goodness, I'm actually, out of sheer coincidence, planning on posting an update to my long-dormant Louisiana soul playlist on Sunday, and will be posting a brand new and more specific playlist of Shreveport soul in tandem with it too. And I'm also gonna be getting to another comp like this one soonish that deals with Ric's sister label, Ron, as well, so stay tuned for that also! ✌️
Highlights:
Al Johnson - "Carnival Time" Lenny Capello - "Cotton Candy" Johnny Adams - "I Won't Cry" Tommy Ridgley - "Let's Try and Talk It Over" Eddie Bo - "Ain't It the Truth" Johnny Adams - "A Losing Battle"

Last-Minute Cruise Deals
Last-minute cruise deals will be the best opportunity to experience this luxury life at an affordable price range. Last-minute cruise deals occur as customers approach their cruise date, prompting cruise lines to offer substantial discounts to fill remaining cabins. Multiple websites, such as Click2Book, specialize in aggregating deals into one place, letting you score bumper discounts on any cruise. Explore last-minute cruises for spontaneous trips to nearby ports; these offers are perfect for guests who want to explore nearby ports.
Best Cruise Lines
Everyone can claim the best cruise lines. Their names include:
Royal Caribbean International: Royal Caribbean International is famous for its great innovation in the shipping industry and offering a variety of activities. It allows people of different ages, ranging from families with children to adventure seekers.
Celebrity Cruises: Celebrity Cruises boasts a great combination of modern luxurious comfortable cruise ships and great luxury services for travelers seeking sophistication and varied cruise itineraries.
Norwegian Cruise Line: Universally, this line attracts customers by providing Freestyle Cruising service, flexible dining, and a not-so-restrictive dress code.
Disney Cruise Line: For families willing to experience Disney-themed dress entertainment, character meet-and-greets, and age-appropriate activities are available for families seeking a magical adventure.
Cheap Cruises 2025
Cheap Cruises 2025 can significantly save you a significant amount of money. This year budget-conscious travelers can find numerous affordable options. Travelers can also take advantage of slightly off-peak travel times, such as shoulder seasons, thereby snagging lower rates and fewer crowds. Cruises offer a carefully curated selection of 2025 cruise deals, ensuring cost-effective itineraries without compromising on entertainment.
Discount Cruises
There are various other techniques to find discounted cruises beyond last-minute bargains. Many offers, such as early-bird bonuses, group fares, and discount cruises usually offer considerable discounts. Discount travel agents can often provide special prices and extra deals. Click2Book is an all-inclusive website dedicated to discount cruises, offering deals from various cruise lines and destinations.
Cruises from Long Beach
Long Beach, California, is a very popular port for cruising, especially to Mexico and along the Pacific Coast. Carnival Cruise Line, for example, offers short or long itineraries from Long Beach, with other cruise lines operating similar services. Cabins for every budget, from very light to high-end, can be found with cruises from Long Beach, such as Expedia. Any traveler can browse and compare the various price and itinerary listings with very little effort.
All-Inclusive Cruises 2025
All-inclusive cruises enhance their offers by adding more amenities to the price list. Featured packages are trending as they provide accommodations, meal services, beverages, tips, Wi-Fi, and shore excursions. They cater to the new and modern travelers' requirements. Click2Book offers a wide run of all-inclusive travel choices catering to the traveler's requirements and budget, hence guaranteeing an ideal blend for your travel experience.
Biggest Cruise Ship in the World
The biggest cruise ship in the world Royal Caribbean plans to introduce a remarkable 1,200-foot cruise ship called the "Icon of the Seas" in 2025. This super liner holds up to 7,500 travelers and more than 2,300 individuals. The Icon of the Seas is a modern cruising vessel featuring the largest waterpark at sea, opulent staterooms with ocean views, and diverse dining options. The eco-friendly LNG propulsion system in sustainable cruising offers entertainment options like Broadway-style shows and virtual reality experiences, catering to everyone's entertainment needs.
Cruise Packages
Cruise packages offer a convenient way to combine vacations-to-go cruises components such as flight, shore excursion, and onboard credit into a single package. Explore these cruise packages for a stylish and enjoyable way to celebrate with one, a couple, or a family. For instance, several cruise lines offer "fly and cruise" packages, where airfare includes traveling to and from the port of embarkation. Others provide dining or all-inclusive excursions to exotic locations. As one of the popular websites, Click2Book makes comprehensive listings of cruise packages to virtually any destination around the globe, giving people the opportunity to book a fully customized trip.
Family Cruises
The family cruises are programmed for all age groups: everybody in the family can have a memorable experience here. These cruise ships set up a supervised kids' club, a dedicated lounge for teen fun, and an exclusive adult relaxation place to achieve this: children's well-being versus parental relaxation. Disney Cruise Line is the best option, offering themed dining, live Disney shows, and an exclusive private island visit at Castaway Cay. While Carnival Cruise Line organizes onboard activities like waterslides, mini-golf, and even outdoor movie nights.
Weekend Cruises
Weekend cruises are great escapes for those who don’t have much time. They will take you away for only 2-4 nights and offer wonderful options in nearby play areas such as the Bahamas and the Mexican Riviera or even quick hops along the California coast. There are ports like Long Beach, Miami, and Galveston, which are excellent ports of departure for weekend cruises. Just like a longer itinerary, such a cruise is equipped with all the luxuries that are generally associated with expensive dining, entertainment, and spa treatments, creating a great opportunity for short holiday travel.
Cruise Cancellation Policies
Understanding the cruise cancellation policies becomes necessary while planning your journey. It safeguards your investment. All cruise lines adopt a tiered refund approach: it becomes progressively lesser as the departure date approaches. Most of them also now have a familiar "Cruise with Confidence" policy in which you could cancel or modify your trips by reclaiming the full fee when other unforeseen events happen.
How to Book a Cruise
Here are some steps to help you book a cruise:
Compare and Research: Compare itineraries, prices, and reviews for the cruise lines at Click2Book.
Choose the Right Time: Book during Wave Season or wait for last-minute deals to come your way and save.
Consider and select your preferred cabin: Compare properly and choose your cabin according to your liking or budget: Opt for an internal, ocean view, or balcony cabin depending on taste and budget.
Book directly or through an agent: You may book directly from the cruise line or through an agent. However, travel agents often provide special deals and extra perks to customers.
Frequently Asked Questions
When is the best time to book a cruise at a reduced price?
The best time to book a cruise at a reduced price is during "wave season," between January and March. Also, consider booking around Black Friday/Cyber Monday sales, and then again be willing to flex your travel dates to find better prices.
What’s included in an all-inclusive cruise?
The all-inclusive cruise package includes beds, food on board, and anything from live stage shows to music to activities. It contains the pools, the fitness areas, and limited recreation facilities. Basic beverages such as water, coffee, and tea are commonly included; however, alcoholic drinks usually may require a drink package. Shore excursions and specialty dining cost extra fees.
How can I discover last-minute cruise deals?
Last-minute cruise deals may often be found on cruise line websites or dedicated travel sites. Before booking, always check properly on multiple websites; you may find exclusive offerings or unsold cabins.
What is the difference between a refundable and non-refundable cruise deposit?
If you are booking a refundable cruise, then you can cancel a reservation before the final payment date when you receive a refund. A nonrefundable deposit gives you an advantage in the upfront cost, but cancellation results in a penalty and cannot be refunded.
How do I choose the right cruise line for my tour?
Choose the right cruise line that suits your budget, travel style, and preferred destinations. Study onboard activities, dining options, and cabin types to ensure that they match your preferences. Research reviews and compare itineraries to confirm that the cruise meets your expectations and interests.
Are cruise packages worth it?
Many people highly recommend cruising because some of the stunning destinations included in cruise itineraries are affordable. Meals and spirits on board cannot be compared to what visitors get at land-based hotels, and the service is just out of this world.
What happens if I need to cancel my cruise?
You will be refunded if you cancel your booking before your final payment; however, this does not apply if you have booked a particular promotion with a nonrefundable deposit or fare.
Can I book a cruise as a solo traveler?
A solo cruise offers an exciting vacation plan for those seeking beautiful destinations and the opportunity to meet new friends. If you feel like going without waiting for someone to join, then you should prefer going on a solo trip.
Are there any hidden fees when booking a cruise?
The cruise fare typically features a diverse range of delectable cuisines. Most lines offer complimentary drinks like tap water, juices, and iced tea, while other beverages typically cost extra on their lists. The establishment offers complimentary coffee and tea, although specialty coffee beverages are typically priced separately.

Biggest Cruise Moments of 2024
2024 has been a big year for cruising and cruise lines, with close to 36 million people taking to the sea aboard one of the more than 300 cruise ships in service today.
Let’s start 12 months ago in January 2024 when one of the biggest news stories was Princess Cruises announcement that the maiden voyage of their new Sun Princess had been delayed.
It was happier January news for Royal Caribbean, which placed its new Icon of the Seas into service – taking the title of the World’s Biggest Cruise Ship!
In February, we learnt of another delay to Sun Princess, with the maiden voyage pushed back yet again to 28 February.
That same month, Carnival announced an order for another LNG powered ship, due for arrival in 2027, while the Cunard Queen Anne completed her sea trials successfully, marking a major milestone in the ship’s building progress.
youtube
In March international cruise brands returned to the Taiwanese market, while the Villa Vie Residences took delivery of the former Fred Olden Braemar, and commenced transforming it into a residential cruise ship, which they named Villa Via Odyssey.
March also saw Carnival make headlines, due to a fire onboard Carnival Freedom, which resulted in the cancellation of several cruises.
April 2024 saw the P&O Cruises Pacific Adventure treated to a drydock, where onboard enhancements added to the already popular ship. Features included new cabanas, an improved sound system as well as recarpeting & reupholstery work done.
Windstar had an exciting April, announcing their intent to build two new ships – Star Seeker and Star Explorer while on 24 April, Cunard’s Queen Anne left the Fincantieri shipyard enroute to Southampton on her delivery voyage.
May 2024 was a huge month for Cunard, with Queen Anne’s maiden voyage taking place. The roundtrip Southampton sailing was a big deal for Cunard given it was the first time in a decade they had welcomed a new ship to their fleet.
Tumblr media
Above: Queen Anne.
I was aboard as the inaugural Cunard Insights speaker sharing the story of the Passenger Ship to packed out audiences in the Royal Court Theatre!
May also saw Margheritaville at Sea welcome their 2nd ship, the Margheritaville at Sea Islander. This Spirit class cruise ship originally sailed with Costa as Costa Atlantica.
In June, Villa Via Odyssey’s voyage was delayed, while June was also a very sad month for Australian cruisers, with the announcement that P&O Cruises Australia will close in 2025.
The announcement was quite a shock to even the keenest observers and will bring to an end P&O branded cruising in Australia, a tradition that dates to 1932.
Tumblr media
Above: Pacific Encounter in Brisbane (P&O Cruises)
Hurricane Beryl interrupted numerous cruise itineraries in July, as ships diverted to avoid the weather, an event repeated by Tropical Storm Debbie in August, and Hurricane Milton in October.
August shipping headlines featured the SS United States. It was revealed that the ship could no longer remain alongside at her long-term pier and is reported that she will likely be sunk off the coast of Florida, to become an artificial reef – though environmental and ship-structural concerns are delaying this process.
Seabourn Odyssey retired in September, with the much beloved cruise ship having been sold to Mitsui OSK Lines. She now sails as Mitsui Ocean Fuji.
Carnival Splendor returned to Sydney in September, having been given a refurbishment. Carnival also announced that the Pacific Encounter and Pacific Adventure will sail with the brand as Carnival Encounter and Carnival Adventure.
Tumblr media
Above: Pacific Encounter.
October saw the Norwegian Spirit complete her Asian charter with Lion Travel. October was also a big month for RCI, with the brand ordering 2 new mega-ships, both an Icon Class and an Oasis Class, due to enter service in 2027,  while the Icon-class Star of the Seas floated out for the first time.
NCL’s ship redeployments dominated the headlines in November, with multiple itineraries changed for 2025 and beyond. These included Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Spirit, Norwegian Star and Norwegian Jade – all of which had existing cruises cancelled and redeployment plans announced.
And finally in December, Cunard announced a significant refit of the Queen Elizabeth to take place in Singapore next year.
And thanks from us:
It has also been a big year for us, and I wanted to take a moment to thank you for your support.
In the last year, we relaunched the YouTube channel, with a new name – Cruise News and Ship History with Chris Frame, launched an accompanying cruise news blog here and started offering weekly cruise news videos.
We launched channel membership, and launched two new ship history books – The Evolution of the Passenger Ship and A Photographic History of P&O Cruises, as well as publishing our Cruise Consultancy website at www.frameandcross.com.
We also launched a new Aviation YouTube channel – Two Aussie Avgeeks, and won an award for Best Aviation Feature Article from the Australasian Aviation Press Club – for a story I wrote about the impact Jet Airliners had on Ocean Liners published by Airline Ratings!
What a year!
