Curiously for me it was obvious that in any of these au Lucifer had to be Hades, logic has all the subtlety of an anvil.

Ruler of a group of dead souls who is normally seen as evil and who can actually be argued to have gotten the short end of the stick compared to his brothers? ✔️✔️✔️

Hades!Lucifer with all the ways to play with the trope practically writes itself.

Now, Persephone! Alastor took me a little longer to watch and get over my critical barrier.

There is an implication that there are gods more associated with the city (Hera, Apollo...) and gods more associated with the wild (Dionysus, Artemis...) then I had an instinctive reaction to say nope, because Alastor as a radio host and Rosie as the leader of the cannibals not exactly a 1:1 resemblance, both are too associated with things in the city for me to see it (if you ask me what kind of goddess is the 1:1 equivalent of Rosie I would say it's Hera or Hestia actually)

But the thing is that Alastor already moves between both sides because Alastor in some ways is a walking contradiction (as p Persephone! Goddess of spring, Life,and lady of the Underworld, Death)and there is something in the idea of seeing a goddess of spring and a goddess of the hunt cannibalistic and quite bloodthirsty which is like mmmm.... Why do I suddenly need more of this?

But I'm really curious who Demeter would be in this scenario. It doesn't even have to be a motherly role, but who is the person who realizes that Alastor is missing without knowing what happened and wants to get him back? Because we have two options: whoever has Alastor's soul... And Charlie, Alastor was helping her with a project and now he's gone!

I can understand people's reservations about Alastor being Persephone, the goddess of spring. They're not exactly the most similar characters. But that's what I love about him being Persephone - it's so far removed from who you'd think he'd be that it's immediately intriguing to imagine how you would merge the two together.

Alastor is the god of spring, but he is still Alastor. He still hunts and kills, it's just usually hunters or deplorable mortals who wander into his territory (which is still accurate to Alastor, because according to Viziepop, Alastor in the show has his own moral code, and Viv compared him to Dexter Morgan, who was a serial killer notorious for murdering other murderers and serial killers). He's still whimsy and all about entertainment, he's just off on his own most of the time (with his equally crazy tree nymph Niffty, and the god he swindled into a deal, Husk). He's still clever and a smooth-talker, he can talk circles around nearly any other deity, he's just going to do it with flowers in his hair. He's still dangerous, he just likes planting now too.

The more I think about Artemis, the more I see her as Rosie. Artemis had her exclusively female hunters, she protected them, they were loyal to her, and even if Rosie wasn't as physically aggressive towards anyone in the show, she's still skilled in hunting and killing (obviously, she IS a cannibal), and I can totally see her hunters being the cannibals from the show as well. Her hunters don't have to be a small group in this AU, it's bigger and more like a community.

Obviously, I'm not keeping this AU 100% accurate to the Greek myths. I've found that when writing AU's it's better to change the trope to fit the character, instead of changing the character to fit the trope.

As for Hestia, well, honestly, I see Em being her more than Rosie (or maybe Carmilla could be Hestia O.O with how dedicated she is to her family and home). I mean, the goddess of the Hearth, home, family - I can see where Rosie would fit in, but with how caring, sweet, and loving Em is while still having a strong back-bone for standing up for injustice and how people are treated, she fits the role of Hestia really well (honestly, I'm also really liking the idea of Carmilla being Hestia).

I'm still not sure who I'm going to make Demeter, as Alastor didn't really have a protective, maternal figure looking out for him in the show. Some might argue that Rosie could fit that bill, but I've always seen her as ride or die friends with Alastor, and not so much a motherly figure.

So, I'm thinking of just making Demeter Alastor's mom. We don't see her in the show, nor do we know anything about her, but she's the closest character I can think of who can fit, well, his mother LOL.

I am tweaking the myth a bit so that Alastor ends up taking on more of her duties as goddess of the harvest (she was also the goddess of agriculture, fertility, and sacred law - with the last one, I think Alastor gets a lot of his moral principles from that, in the sense that he doesn't tolerate mortals (or immortals) damaging sacred ground, fields, nature, animals etc... which is another reason why he hunts the people who transgress through his fields and forests).

And the reason Alastor takes on more of Demeter's/his moms responsibilities is because, previously, he'd been attacked (see all the scars in his design) and it took a long time and a lot of power from his mom as she nursed him back to health. It took a lot out of her, so once he was healed, she stepped down to build her strength back up, and he took on more duties with the harvest, agriculture, and sacred law in her stead.

As for Charlie, well 😈I already have a character in mind for her.

Funny you should mention Mortal Kombat, since the newest game's story mode is basically about a character who ascended to godhood and reset the world in their image/design. Sounds familiar?

Thanks, Captain Obvious. It's not like I have dedicated a large portion of my life as a microblogger to talk about a goddess who ripped off of another goddess that came 2 months or so before her. I remember seeing someone suggest a Magical Girl AU for MK, and I almost replied to OP with a "Just because Liu Kang is God and has rewritten the universe?", but I didn't, because my singular functioning braincell have alerted me like that Animaniacs meme:

"Don't.", to which I've replied with a "Yeah, it's just too easy."

Okay, but snarkiness aside, I am aware of Liu Kang's ascension. And truth be told, I'd much rather trust in a seasoned and experienced warrior with 30+ years of experience in battle than to trust some 14yo who thought the rightest solution to deal with traumatized young girls was to erase them out of existence and have no one mourn for their passings.

Oh, and about Twin Goddesses, I have found some other very interesting stuff:

Question about Scathach- Did she start off as a normal mortal that became the Queen of the shadow lands that gods seemed to be scared of? In FGO they also have her still alive and kinda bound there but since the world technically ended, she was able to be summoned as a servant. What I'm wondering about is if she is less human now and possibly eldritchy? Or maybe it should just be an AU concept that Carmilla is the more human of the two by the time they start dating. Or is she already?

Neat fact about Scathach: for all that we think she might have been a Goddess in Scotland at some point in the past we have no real proof of that and so for the time being all we can say is that the Scathach we know of is entirely mortal and human. Everything else is speculation

In FGO she's immortal and is the protector of the Shadow Border (lowkey them ripping off Fionn's lore of him being Ireland's immortal protector but w/e we've been over this before) but likely still human. Carmilla is not at all bothered that she isn't "as human" as Scathach is: in fact the idea that non-human creatures should be compared to the standards of humans is ludicrous anyway. She's a vampire and she's proud of it and that's the end of that

As for Scathach, there is no "metric" for what counts as "more or less human" when you used to be an immortal. Physically, all Servants that were human in life are still "human" but mentally, emotionally and on the scale of morality, I would argue that they would not be considered "completely human" by mortal humans anymore because immortal life-spans kind of fuck you up a little bit but to other Servants people like Scathach would still be considered "purely human"

So, it’s been a decade to the day since I started writing if I track from when I first started writing a novel at 11, though I wrote a few short stories for class before that. In those ten years, I’ve written 806,886 words.

353,706 of that is novels in various stages of completion

144,054 of that is in original short stories

309,126 of that is fanfiction

106,400 of that is for Supernatural

100,386 is the fic Ben’s Clues which isn’t even counting the two oneshots in the same universe. This was written in about nine months when I was 15

35,556 of the DS9 is for Kira Nerys/Jadzia Dax

Honorable mention goes to Maximum Ride, my first fandom. I wrote 8253 words of fic on Max-Dan-Wiz

All this fiction writing also helped me in my continuing battle with university. For university so far, I’ve written 117,681 words. This is... not counted in my total fiction writing total. This is as WELL as that. Also, I don’t have a way of finding + calculating all the words I wrote throughout high school but I don’t doubt that it was a LOT.

In no particular order, a list of Most Notable and favourite things:

Ben’s Clues, my longest fic. It’s 100k of delighted nonsense focusing around Ben Braeden from the early show and an OC. This story has: bringing Gabriel back, some very funny “well I certainly want to grow up more functional than you” commentary on Dean, the use of black contact lenses to fool demons, evil cars, and evil YA novels.

Steal Your Heart, my original novella. I posted it on Wattpad WAY back in the day, and I still love it dearly. This story has: close family, straightbaiting, revenge, way too many Avengers references in retrospect, and a girl who wholly perceives herself as a weapon.

Even The Stars They Burn, the Carmilla Star Wars AU that came out all in one burning rush. It’s a series that ends with I’m Giving You All My Love, where the characters (and me) finally begin to heal from trauma. This story has: Laura as Anakin the disaster angst Jedi, Carmilla as Obi Wan AND Padme aka Laura’s wife who’s force-sensitive, a plot arc that I still am in awe that I wrote to this day, and some beautiful art by arthkael.

Untethered is the other story (also Carmilla) that came out in that kind of rush. I wrote it in one nine hour dash, including in the car on my way home from school. This story has: time travel bullshit, identity nonsense as they run across each other at different points in their own histories, me doing the “I made it worse then made it better” angst thing, and two girls in love across 400 years.

sealskinned, a Carmilla fic that is one of the few stories I’ve written that properly captures my obsession with water/merpeople/eldritch ocean energy. It’s also the first (and only) fic to get a podfic from someone else. This story has: selkie AND mermaid mythos, kindness and love being what defeats the ultimate evil, lesbians falling in love in a cabin on the sea.

Vampire Hearing, my Carmilla Big Bang epic that I wrote even as I ran the Big Bang itself with @elenaglbert. I’m proud of being able to put together such a long story. This story has: making out to pretend you’re not spying on people, vampirism + hearing loss as interconnected, bargaining with goddesses for life, refusing to give in, and soft dumbasses.

Otherwise Occupied and Counterbalance, twin DS9 stories that have a thesis of Fuck The Government, except one fic is directing that at Bajor and the other fic is directing that at Trill. These stories have: gays in space, exploration of what exactly it means to want to fuck up the government, healing from trauma, and SO MUCH found family.

what, then, could she complain of, except that she had been loved? a story based on Orpheus and Eurydice in original mythology. It’s the story I’m proudest of that I’ve written this year. This story has: deaf!Eurydice, Persephone as an ally to all women, an exploration of being loved vs being taken for granted, and “what if he DIDN’T look back and fuck it all up?”.

Obviously not all of my writing is up on the internet, but a lot of it is. My original work is on AO3 under the pseud Pingoodle, and the fanfiction under my main pseud ThatAloneOne. Both of these names were chosen WAY back at the beginning of this writing adventure. I think @elenaglbert aka Lanie is the only person who’s read everything I’ve written or like, 99% of it. Most of the stuff she hasn’t read is the stuff that requires an INCREDIBLY shattered brain to read and enjoy. You know who you are if you’ve read those ones. Anyway, it’s been a wild damn decade and I can’t say I’ll keep up the pace because a LOT of this was frontloaded and written when I was a young teenager who didn’t have to worry about capitalism but I’m certainly not going to stop writing anytime soon.

So for a while now, I’ve been working on a fan project under the working name Undeath AU, which is now called Unlife is Strange - a crossover story between Vampyr and the Life is Strange series. I originally intended to make a side/character blog based around this AU, but I’m putting a pin in that for now.

This story is one of two crossover story of mine. The other is a crossover between Carmilla: The Series and Pitch Perfect; that story is called Love's Sacrifices. Both are passion projects I've been planning for a year now, and both feature mentions of other works I considered for crossover (although the lot of them are mostly references and cameos.)

I plan to write a few different "routes" for this story to go. Chapters that are applicable to certain routes will be listed as such. To keep it simple; Route A follows the “Sacrifice Arcadia Bay/Parting Ways” of Life is Strange and Life is Strange 2; while Route B follows the “Sacrifice Chloe/Redemption” endings (with some canon divergence in “Redemption”).

Summary: Carmilla saw Noctis summon Ramuh for the first time. During a night at the campsite. The group noticed her reading a book of Elder dragons. Perked by curiosity they decided all have a history lesson.

Notes: This is more adding about my funny au of monster hunter and final fantasy xv crossover since I am still wrapped about that au :3. Yes, I love the ideas of Elder dragons and Astrals being somehow related to each other you can hit me at this point

“So, that was Ramuh?”

Carmilla questioned the young prince who was pretty much half awake at this point. Before their setting up at the night they were out on a hunt. It was the Behemoth that was roaming around. The party was getting weak until Noctis summoned Ramuh killing the creature. It was the first time Carmilla saw a God like that.

“Huh...you never heard of astrals before?”

Carmilla heard Noctis’ reply back to where they are at the campfire together. She gave a no in a response. Then she took out a book showing to Noctis what it is.

“We don’t have astrals where we come from...we used to believe in a greater deity Elder Dragons”

The group suddenly looked at Carmilla as if she was joking, a few minutes later she stared back indicating she is not kidding. Noctis flipped the book several times to see the last few pages were indeed Elder Dragons that she just listed.

“So, you guys even hunt those?!”

Prompto breaking the silence he knew the astrals were dangerous, but they were at least friendly at some point, during the journey Carmilla referenced how her country is different in each way making Prompto stating, ‘We have to travel there!’ now he wants to take it back...he said that several times.

“We have to they could actually have the power to endanger the whole ecosystem”

Prompto only went to Noctis asking if he could take the book out of his hands to see for himself. Carmilla sighed she remembered going to a exhibition that involved her team fighting one...they had an hour to kill one or it would run on them. It wasn’t that bad as she thought, but its weird to know they take down something like a God.

“I suppose you don’t praise it as a God then”

Carmilla looked to Ignis as she heard the question addressed to her, she slightly smiled then gave a serious look on her face,

“It was long ago that our ancestors praise them as Gods...then they realized Elder Dragons don’t give a hell about those who worshiped them they realized their mistake when a whole city was wiped out by one”

“Damn, we have to be thankful for the astrals here then...then again you guys are trained to hunt down many of them right”

Carmilla heard Gladio’s comment he is right every hunter, rider and monster are trained to fight for survival. A God, dragon, or even a human being that’s what her country taught her. Hunting to survive that is what she knows here in Eos its more of a breath of fresh air to just wind down and take some time to learn other horizons.

“Hey~ is this really a dragon?”

Prompto showed a picture of a blue like unicorn, with white mane, and a bright blue horn to Carmilla she could only stare and nod,

“Yes, that is a Elder dragon and I own one back home”

Prompto and Noctis immediately got and stared at her trying to see if she was joking...she only has her serious face still there indicating she is not kidding. Noctis only gave a mutter to her,

“Uhh...how do I own one?”

That’s where the discussion faithfully ended as Ignis had to intervene and cue to the everyone groaning in disappointment. Prompto only stating,

“C’mon Iggy, at least Noct can have a trusty steed!”
