Hoover, AL: 25 y/o Carlethia “Carlee” Russell was last seen on July 13th after checking on a toddler walking on the side of Interstate 459 S near John Hawkings Pwky exit. She called police, but when they arrived, there was no sign of her or the toddler, just her car & belongings.

UPDATE: she’s been found! At 10:45 p.m. (7.15.23) local time Saturday, the Hoover 911 center received a call that Russell had returned home, Hoover police said in a statement.

“Hoover Fire medics responded to the scene to assess Carlee and transported her to a local hospital for evaluation,” the statement said. Police also responded to the scene to investigate, according to the statement.

Per the Hoover Police Department, the Hoover 911 center received a call at 10:45 p.m. that Carlee Russell had returned home to her residence. Hoover Police and Fire responded to the scene to evaluate Carlee and transported her to a local hospital for more evaluation. More details will be provided when they become available.

As a black woman myself, the thing that really upsets me about this Carlee case is that a black woman who went missing finally got the same national news as white women like Gabby Petito. AND THIS HAPPENS! She lied and plotted. And not only that but she lied the same way as past racist white women who lied about being attacked by black men. She lied about a white man kidnapping her. This right here scares me.

A 25-year-old Alabama woman is missing and police need your help to find her. Hoover Police said Carlethia “Carlee” Russell called 911 around 9:30 Thursday night (July 13) to report a toddler walking alongside I-459 near Exit 11.

Police said Russell called a relative to tell them what happened. HPD also said that relative lost contact with Russell but the line remained open. When officers arrived at the scene near Exit 10, HPD said they discovered Russell's car and some of her personal items nearby. However, they didn't see Russell or the child.

Carlee Russell is 5 feet and 4 inches tall. She weighs between 150 and 160 pounds. Russell was last seen wearing a black shirt, white Nike shoes, and black pants. Family members say Russell drives a red Mercedes. If you see Russell, dial 911 or Hoover Police at 205-444-7562
