Even her tenth birthday where Harvey pulls in favors and shows her a whole tour of his lair and what to do during a kidnapping, where Batman “saves” her from him. Then the police station where she also met Robin and Batgirl. And finally they watched a court case where the old prosecutor couldn’t help himself but take over for the slackard against Barbara Gordon.

(Her mother was always wary of her brother… even cut him out of the family when he was too busy with his career. It’s only when her daughter takes a likening to him that she finally restarts the relationship with her estranged brother. She isn’t surprised when her daughter takes after him. Only mildly worried)

So of course the lil girl goes and becomes a prosecutor too, much to Two Face’s chagrin. But she does a good job, and is a lot like him.

And also gets treated like the coffee girl… and a uhm… let’s just say someone you could call on.

She had a lil accident when she finally got her first case, but didn’t read the fine print about being a good girl and letting the bad man go. Cut up her right side pretty bad. Uncle Harvey went killing that day.

She’s still good, thanks to him though, she nearly threw away her pretty ribbon, along with her childhood dream of fixing Gothem. Hiding behind her bleached hair, and scowling at the rotten world.

But the kindness she’d shown to her uncle, as a little child? Paid her back.

He pushed her hair back, and pinned it with a little bow barrette. And told her she was a fighter.

After that she stopped wearing the clothes everyone thought a pretty thing like her should wear, and wore what she liked. She wasn’t shy to get in faces, and get loud, or show her temper.

Eventually she finds a cop and settles down with him, very much her own woman. And Uncle Harvey checks in sometimes to make sure it stays that way.

Raven: Ha! Love the bad girls don’t you? Fine, I’ll watch over your friend. Who is it you want me to babysit; It better not be the, Schnee girl! I swear I’ll shoot her one of these days if she…?

Yang: No, it’s not, Weiss. It’s, Jaune. Jaune’s coming over.

Raven: J-Jaune…?

Yang: Yeah, we’ve got a school project we’re working on together, and Jaune wanted to get ahead of the game. So he asked if he could come over here so we could work on it. Is that okay?

Raven: Jaune coming over here…? T-That’s fine! I’m totally fine with that tasty snack…?! I mean! That fine young man coming over here. W-When is coming over…?

Yang: In… half an hour-ish?

Raven: Half an hour? That gives me plenty of time… Time for a shower, and time to put on something spicy~!

Willow: No can do… my hands are stuck here… Feeling your broad chest~! Y-You’ll have to open the door yourself.

Jaune: Okay fine… where is the door knob…? Eh? What is this, a pillo…?!

Carla: ‘Love’s it?’ So, he is the boy you are being forced to apologize to?

Cardin: Yeah, the teacher says they’ll end my two month long detention early if I apologize to him… I have no intention of apologizing to that loser.

Carla: I see… You know what, Cardin. How about I apologize on your behalf?

Cardin: You’ll do that?

Carla: Of course! He may not accept it, but he’ll at least get that apology he is owed.

Cardin: You’ll do that? Thanks, Mom. I probably would have decked him in the face if I went over there to apologize to the loser.

Carla: Then I best go over there. Don’t worry sweetie, I’ll make sure he accepts your apology. After all, what better apology can a boy get than fucking his bully’s own mother~?

Cardin: W-What was that…?

The people have spoken. And since I was feeling better? Less of a rant and more of a…

Part 1

“When is Uncle Harvey getting here?” Carla whined.

“Not any sooner than the last time you asked,” her mother called from over her shoulder.

The imposing brunette turned as she heard the tell tale sounds of a pouting lip, sighing as she put down her spatula.

“Honey,” her mother soothed, “You know your party isn’t until the weekend, right? He might’ve meant to come then, like he usually does. He’s a… busy, man.”

“But moooooom!!” Carla cried, “He said he would be here!!”

“Maybe he heard he wouldn’t get cake early?” her mother smiled sadly.

Carla crossed her arms and scowled before walking back to her watchful spot on the couch.

“He said he’d be here,” she muttered.

“Harvey,” her mother whispered, turning back to the unfinished cake with ferocity, “If you dare run now. I’ll have to start a crime army to track you down, daring to break a girl’s heart like that.”

Five long minutes passed before Carla spoke again.

“When is he-?”

“Carla, sweetie,” her mother huffed, “Maybe he isn’t com-”

A firm knock on the door sent the little girl flying towards it with a smile so massive it rivaled the Joker’s.

Her mother merely shook her head and smiled, licking the icing off her hand.

“Hey there!” Harvey, Two Face, Dent exclaimed, picking up his niece and spinning her in the air, much to her delight. “Who is this fine young woman here to see me? Where did my little niece go?”

“It is me, Uncle Harvey!” Carla laughed.

“What?!” Two Face exclaimed, the mock shock looking all the more striking on his bad side. “Can’t be.”

He put her down, then ruffled her midnight black hair.

“You come all the way up to my chest!” he insisted, before dropping to his knee to poke and prod Carla as he interrogated her, “the girl I know only comes up to my waist.”

“She grows up fast when you only come by every holiday,” her mother chided from behind him.

Two Face startled and stood up, brushing himself off.

“Thought that was the agreement,” he stated, “I didn’t think you liked a known criminal hanging around your house, and endangering your family.”

“I don’t,” Carla’s mother sighed, watching Carla run past to grab something of interest. “But she’s grown very attached to you. And you’re weirdly good at keeping your “work” out of things… mostly.”

“She likes playing court,” Harvey shrugged, “And I only tell her enough gang stuff so she knows to keep out of it. Kids are too nosy these days.”

“That’s true, and adventurous,” her mother agreed. “Speaking of adventure, nothing too dangerous, alright?”

“Yeah yeah,” Two Face rolled his eyes as he waved her off. “I don’t have anything planned that’s really bad.

“Make sure it stays that way,” Carla’s mom glared, but her haze softened a second later as her daughter brought in one of her newer toys.

She watched as her brother and daughter played and talked, interacting in a way only they could. She even snapped a few pictures when neither noticed.

“Ready to go on a little trip, kiddo?” Harv asked, “Got an action filled day ahead!”

“REALLY MOM!!” Carla exclaimed, turning from her mother to her uncle in amazement. “A WHOLE DAY WITH UNCLE HARVEY!?”

“If you both behave and it's not too scary,” her mother laughed, shaking her head. “If everything goes well, maybe he can come over more.”

Both Two Face and Carla’s eyes widened at this, Carla squealing as she ran out the door.

“Really?” Harvey whispered, leaning closer to Carla’s mother. “You’re sure?”

“Even you get time off for good behavior,” her mother shrugged.

“C’mon Uncle Harvey!! Lets goooooo!!” Carla called from beside the van waiting outside.

Two Face looked one last time at her mother, and nodded. Then grinned in the way that never seemed quite right and followed her.

“Be right there, kid!” he returned. “Was just making sure of a few details with the boss.”

Carla’s mom shook her head again as the van drove down the road. What did she keep getting them into?
