It was silent as they waited for the rest to arrive. Carl was pissed off with whoever made his best friend cry. What worried him was what exactly did this woman do or say to make her cry. Rarely did anything ever truly get to her. If he ever found out who was responsible they would have a little chat of their own. Melina kept to herself. Wondering if she made a mistake by staying there. Though it would've bothered her to leave now. Not knowing if they'd be alright. She cared for her friend Tristan and by extension that meant Gene and his family as well. She could possibly mediate the situation if needed. There was truth in what she said to Gene. Emily was holding onto Doohickey's arm as they were sitting on a couch in the living room. Glaring at both Victor and Carl. Victor for scaring the living daylights out of her boyfriend. Carl for not being subtle about what he thought of the situation. She wasn't a little girl needing protection anymore. Emily had been able to handle herself since she was a teenager. They still hadn't been able to find all of Brad yet. Still uncovering bits and pieces. Unaware of just who had done that. Not that she would admit this to her boyfriend. He was plenty terrified enough without her adding onto it. They waited a bit longer for the rest to arrive. Half an hour went by before there was a knock at the door. Matthew had decided to open it this time. In the doorway was Sunshine and Archie. Behind them was Constance and Stewart. Matthew took a double take at Stewart. Recognition flickering within his eyes. Though he decided to remain silent on how she recognized Constance's husband. Constance had a red nose. Red and puffy eyes from crying. Carl felt a flare of anger upon seeing the state his best friend was in. She was quiet and withdrawn. When they got into the living room and sat themselves down, Gene, while in the middle of taking a sip of the beverage he was enjoying, choked as he saw Stewart with Constance. Though he said nothing as well. Once everyone was settled in, Emily looked at Constance with a worried look. The former villainess gave a strained smile. "What was it you wanted to say, dear?" The woman already figured out what the news was. She was genuinely overjoyed for Emily. She had the same type of glow that her daughter in law had while pregnant with Charlotte. Emily gave a grateful smile, nodding at her. "Thank you. There's something I want to say. Though I have a feeling many of you already know what is up with me. Thanks to some people." She glanced over at Patricia specifically. Carl had noticed that Melina really did look so eerily similar to Archie. Now that they were sitting close to each other. Constance seemed to have noticed this as well. She was looking at both her son and Melina. If they didn't know any better, they'd think they were siblings raised together. Stewart had a gentle, comforting expression. Taking Constance's hand into his. Gently and lovingly giving her hand little pats. Matthew couldn't help but steal glances at Stewart. This was honestly odd to Carl but he didn't want to interrupt his daughter. Not while she needed everyone's attention. Emily didn't let go of her boyfriend's arm. He was just now calming down from his encounter with Victor. He wasn't looking forward to Gene and Carl's talk with him that they would no doubt have. “So. To make it clear. We're going to handle this like adults. No more threats. No more attempting to scare my boyfriend.” She glared in annoyance at Victor. He merely shrugged, not all too bothered by that. “No being overly protective of me. Yes, that means you too Gene. What exactly I'm saying is. I'm pregnant and I'm quite happy about it.” She finally broke out into a happy smile. “With that said. We need to sort some things out.” It was funny to see Emily switch from being so happy to professional in an instant. As if she were dealing with business. Carl still had a protective expression. Matthew was looking ecstatic for his daughter and her partner. Which reminded Matthew, he had to talk to him. Hoping not to scare him.

Heart of chaos

A year had passed since the B.E.A.W Labs organization had fallen. Since all the events had taken place. Becky being taken along with Bob. The poor girl being experimented on by a cruel scientist who had no love for anyone but himself. Matthew had broken out of the facility with her, Carl and Steven. Gene's true identity being revealed along with losing his Dr.Two-Brains persona. Shocking revelations unfolded. Betrayals and redemption. Things had calmed down significantly since but that didn't mean life had been dull. It certainly wasn't for Fair City. Especially with the villains, heroes and its eccentric inhabitants livening up the city. Becky had been making a wonderful recovery. Though she still wasn't at her full recovery Becky was still making so much more progress than the year prior. Gene still had identity issues, dealing with the loss of Squeaky. Though he didn't go through it alone. The still mad scientist had his family and friends help him through everything. Matthew and Carl took up residency within the city. A house that wasn't too far from their sons. Life in this place was definitely lively and peaceful in comparison to the hellish place many innocent souls were imprisoned in. Matthew was less exhausted than before. Relaxing within the living room in his son's house, watching whatever was put on the television. Matthew felt his eyes beginning to droop. Sleepiness hitting him out of nowhere. He simply allowed himself to doze off, not fighting it. Knowing that he was safe there. It wasn't until he felt weight on him that Matthew opened his eyes. Usually a dog or cat would be the cause for this but Matthew met many eyes. Fluffy had snuck into the house yet again. A small warm smile spread across his facial features, patting the spider on its head. Fluffy leaned into Matthew's hand, making soft happy noises. It was funnily cute to him. Though he understood as to why Gene was so afraid of him. Even Carl was squeamish around the giant spider. “Aw, who's a good boy? You are! You're a good boy!” Matthew couldn't help but baby talk the arachnid. He looked up, wriggling his chelicerae in response. As to say ‘Me! I'm a good boy!’ He chuckled at that, giving Fluffy gentle scritches. It was like a huge puppy in a spider's body. Though the peacefulness was interrupted by a sudden shout. “NO! WHY IS IT HERE AGAIN?!” Gene was in the doorway of the living room. Looking quite terrified at the huge arachnid. Fluffy instantly moved around on Matthew's lap to look at Gene. Excitedly jumping off of the supervillain's lap in favor of his son. He bolted right for the mad scientist, causing him to yelp loudly and make a run for it. “SOMEONE KEEP THAT ABOMINATION AWAY FROM ME!” Matthew gave a small laugh. “Can't help but feel abit rejected there.” Archie, who was quiet until then, responded. “I know that feeling.” This caused Matthew to jump up startled. “Don't do that! I'm old. Also I could accidentally blast you.” Archie blinked in confusion. “You didn't notice me? I came in with Fluffy. He got loose and snuck into the house. I just came to bring him back before he got to Gene. Too late for that now.” Archie frowned. “I can't help but be jealous at how much Fluffy loves him. Though Gene is terrified of him. That spider just won't listen to me when it comes to his favorite person.” He shook his head disapprovingly. “You want me to help you?” Matthew was being genuine with his question. He didn't want his son dying of fright from the giant arachnid. “That would be greatly appreciated. I have to take him back home. He can't avoid taking his medication this time.” Matthew got up, stretching first before doing anything else. This earned him a strange look from Archie. “What? I said I'm old. If I don't stretch I'll pull a muscle.” The hero shrugged. “Let's go get him soon. I have to look after Charlotte as well.” Archie always had the brightest smile when Charlotte was brought up. Either by him, Sunshine or anyone else. It was sweet. “Alright, alright.” They were completely unaware of an enemy observing them. Waiting.

Miss Power growled in frustration at the display she was witnessing through a window to the Boxleitner or rather the Woods household. A display she thought was very disgusting. How badly the alien conqueror wanted to charge right in their and obliterate everyone in her sights. She couldn't do her usual tactics and tricks right now, not after what she learned after coming back. She was still ticked off after that little alien brat Wordgirl and her parents dupe and tricked her into leaving the planet in defeat. There was no way she could go back to her planet and face her people with such a shameful stain to her otherwise brilliant record. Fueled by revenge and hatred, Miss Power spent her time preparing, training, and waiting so she could exact her revenge against those who wronged her, against the little hybrid girl and her freak of a family that humiliated her. Sadly when Miss Power and her loyal sidekick Colonel Gigglecheeks did decide to return, they were not prepared for the recent changes that had happeend in their absence. Miss Power did not care much for this Darius person or B.E.A.W labs, she had seen those like them a dime a dozen before on other worlds. The alien wished she could have congratulated the person who tortured and dehumanized Wordgirl and her sidekick. If it was up to her, Professor Ross Moran would receive high honors among her people for his actions. She did give her condolences at his unmarked gravestone. While the recent trauma Wordgirl and her sidekick have suffered gave Miss Power an opportunistic advantage, the alien conquerer unfortunately could not risk using it especially with her grandfather around. Miss Power was amazed at hearing about the past and recent exploits of Maddrix the Malicious. She was shocked that someone so bloodthirsty and powerful was the father of that scientist who used to have a mouse brain attached to his skull as well as a weird cheese obsession. To her disappointment, Miss Power could clearly see the man was too human and had regretted his actions in the past. Actions that would have made him highly respected among her people despite him being human. Still Miss Power wasn't going to risk striking back while that old coot was still alive. Age did not always equate to weakness according to what she had been taught. Even though he was old, Maddrix was clearly still powerful. It was likely that her and Gigglecheeks would wind up dead by the man's hands before they could claim revenge and victory. A chittering sound snapped Miss Power out of her musings. She turned her head to see her sidekick give her a concerned look. He chittered again and asked 'So what are we going to do?' Miss Power smiled and scratched her sidekick's head which he enjoyed. "Don't worry Colonel Gigglecheeks. We'll get our revenge soon. We just need to learn more about Mr. Malicious and what weaknesses he might have so we can use it to defeat him." Miss Power cooed. She then took her sidekick and flew off without anyone being the wiser. Miss Power was brash and bold and could be tricked sometimes, but she was no fool. The alien conqueror learned long ago that the best way to win your battles was to be prepared and know your enemy more than they know themselves. Carl sighed with relief and slight exhaustion as he sat down in a comfy chair. He had just finished sweeping the floor of his and Matthew's home. Now all he had to do was sit and relax until his husband got home. Carl wanted to try a nice 'mom and pop' owned restaurant that one of Gene's friends, Chuck, had recommended to the man. Carl had been itching to get out and do something more and more recently. If he had to be honest, he was getting bored. In the past, Carl had his job and work as a scientist to keep him occupied along with spending time with his husband and kids. Unfortunately after his 20 year imprisonment, Carl couldn't step in another official science lab ever again without a severe anxiety and panic attack @dualnaturedscientist

The heat was prominent as you stood crossed armed in the middle of Alexandria's walls. The summer warmth collecting on your skin, nipping at your cheeks and nose while your warn out white tank and blue jeans didn't help your situation.

you watched as people ate their lunch and moved on, not hungry yourself. 

"I'd expect you to be down there eating by now, it's your favorite" you looked to the side to see Carl, long brown hair sitting on his shoulders as his smile, ah, more of a smirk held upbeat on his lips.

"yeah, well, not really in the mood right now..I'll have some later" you smiled, turning back as Carl laid his back on the wall as well

"ya'know, watching people eat isn't really that great of a hobby" he pried, you rolled your eyes as he pushed and pushed before you asked him what he really wanted

"I have new comic books, new ones we can read together!" he grinned like a little boy, you scoffed as you wore a smile back at him.

now, you sat crossed-legged on his bed. he tossed around his desk, talking to you about the new comics and all, you listened intently as he twirled around with a...gift in his hand?

pink paper wrapped a book-shaped figure with a thread tying into a bow. your furrowed brows were enough for him to realize how oblivious you were

"uh..this is for you.." he suddenly became shy, cheeks red and it wasn't from the suns rays coming from the window

"for me? why?" 

"ugh, just take it..it's a...present for you" you grabbed it and started to tear the paper off, slowly peeling away to see a book cover that was all too familiar

"oh my goodness, Carl! holy shit you really got it!" you squealed as you see the "1" on the cover, the book you've been trying to get for the longest time as you only had the other ones... except for the first one of course.

"yeah, well, I was on a run and uhm..it was just...there" yeah, it wasn't just there. he had to kill a small herd of walkers that were in the store just because he saw a glimpse of it through the window..but...he'd never tell you that

"that's amazing! thank you!" you kicked your feet liked a little girl as Carl became flustered at the pure sight of your happiness, something he doesn't get to see often

you ran up and gave him a hug, pulling away to look him in the eye, emotions getting the best of you as you contemplate finally acting on your feelings...and...you do.

you lean in and finally. fucking finally kiss him. his soft lips you've always looked at sucked into yours as your both held each other tight, soon you both found yourselves on the bed, with you on his lap, nothing sexual, just loveness and pureness.

you held his face as he held your waist, your head twisting as you attempt to kiss him even deeper, and then..

"Carl, you never-" Rick opened the door up, and with raw fear you tumbled off him and Rick watched with nothing but shock

"Dad!"

"Oh..Oh...um..my bad" he walked back before closing the door, and then opening it just an inch before running down the stairs, you felt hot but not in the way before, hot with embarrassment

"I-I'm so sorry" Carl stuttered, upset and embarrassed that that was how your first kiss went

you burst out laughing as you tried to put yourself together, Carl joined you in a couple of seconds, your laugh too intoxicating not to. 

so maybe not the best first kiss, but certainly one to remember..

Dissabte 19 de gener a les 17h. a la seu de la Fundació tindrà lloc l'acció poètica - lectura pública '100 poemes per a Joan Brossa'. Aquesta activitat donarà el tret de sortida a l'#AnyBrossa

roda de premsa  divendres 18 de gener a la seu de la Fundació per presentar l'#AnyBrossa. El 19 de gener del 2019 començarà l’Any Joan Brossa amb motiu de la commemoració del centenari del naixement del poeta. L’Any Joan Brossa serà comissariat per Manel Guerrero i coordinat des de la Fundació Joan Brossa per Judith Barnés. A banda de consolidar la seu de la Fundació com un espai de referència per a la ciutat de Barcelona, l’Any Joan Brossa té alguns objectius a assolir. En primer lloc, aconseguir l’edició i/o reedició de la poesia de Brossa per tal que s’hi pugui accedir fàcilment i es fomenti la lectura i el coneixement del corpus poètic brossià. En segon lloc, generar noves mirades a partir de l’obra del poeta per afavorir-ne la representació en l’àmbit del teatre i l’experimentació en el camp de la pràctica artística tot donant cabuda a noves generacions de creadors. Per acabar, teixir una constel·lació brossiana potent que aculli totes aquelles entitats que vulguin retre homenatge al poeta i que tinguin interès a formar part de l’Any Brossa. El 18 de gener, a les 12.30 hores, tindrà lloc la roda de premsa a la seu de la Fundació per presentar als mitjans algunes de les activitats que hi ha programades. Pel que fa a la seu de la Fundació, en acabar la primera exposició temporal ‘Art i follia. Joan Obiols i Vié, psiquiatre i humanista’ a mitjans d’abril, està previst que s’inauguri ‘La crisi de la paraula. Joan Brossa i la poesia experimental’, una mostra que serà comissariada per Eduard Escoffet i coordinada des de la Fundació Joan Brossa per Maria Canelles. L’exposició es podrà visitar fins al setembre, moment en què s’inaugurarà el festival sobre art i poesia en acció, una proposta dedicada a la poesia concreta, sonora i d’acció, amb la complicitat de l’Escenari Joan Brossa. A la vegada, l’espai comptarà amb una programació regular i transversal en què destacaran els cicles ‘Ens va fer Joan Brossa’, una proposta de diàlegs entre persones que van conèixer Joan Brossa i nous creadors influïts pel tarannà del poeta, i ‘En els marges’, un seguit d’experiències úniques i molt selectives vinculades al programa expositiu. També hi haurà visites guiades específiques en què figures de renom donaran la seva visió particular de l’espai per tal de generar debats d’interès. En l’àmbit de les publicacions caldrà destacar l’edició del catàleg raonat sobre la poesia visual de Joan Brossa a càrrec de la Fundación Azcona i el tancament de l’edició del teatre complet Poesia escènica d’Arola Editors a cura de Glòria Bordons i d’Héctor Mellinas. Altres esdeveniments rellevants per a l’Any Brossa seran el congrés acadèmic ‘Els arbres varien segons el terreny’, organitzat pel grup de recerca Poció. Poesia i Educació de la Universitat de Barcelona, i la presentació del documental ‘Brossa’, produït per ZEBA, a la Filmoteca de Catalunya i que emetrà TV3. La Fundació sumarà esforços amb altres entitats culturals afins i col·lectius com són l’Escenari Joan Brossa, el MACBA, el Teatre Nacional de Catalunya, la Filmoteca de Catalunya, la Fundació Joan Miró, la Fundació Antoni Tàpies, L’Auditori, Cabosanroque, etc. per tal de fer arribar l’univers creatiu del poeta arreu.

Para Joan Brossa (Barcelona, 1919-1998) la poesía era una aventura abierta que quiso recorrer a través de todas las disciplinas posibles: poesía literaria, poesía escénica (teatro), cine, poemas visuales (obra sobre papel), poemas objeto (artes plásticas) o poemas transitables (escultura). 'Brossa, poeta transitable' se centra en su producción plástica, pero se asoma también al resto de sus campos creativos. El hilo conductor es el propio Joan Brossa, a través de diversos programas que se le dedicaron. Para ello, el documental rescata del Archivo de RTVE entrevistas y reflexiones que hizo en el cénit de su reconocimiento como creador plástico. Tampoco faltan los testimonios de aquellos que le acompañaron en su camino creativo. La primera noticia pública de Brossa es como miembro del grupo vanguardista creado en torno a la revista Dau al set. Allí coincidió con creadores como Antoni Tàpies (al que le uniría una larga amistad), Joan Ponç o Arnau Puig. Con los años, obtuvo reconocimiento individual, aunque no siempre en los ámbitos que más amaba. Nunca dejó de ser poeta literario, como destacan Glòria Bordons, directora de la Fundación Joan Brossa, y Manel Guerrero, su antólogo. Durante bastantes años, trató de triunfar escribiendo para la escena sin conseguir el eco que esperaba. El compositor Carles Santos habla de las primeras reacciones a sus performances.

News Truoctrandau: Cựu trợ lý của Frank Rijkaard có thể được bổ nhiệm dẫn dắt tuyển Thái Lan

Theo nguồn tin báo giới địa phương, HLV người Tây Ban Nha Eusebio Sacristan đang được Liên đoàn Bóng đá Thái Lan (FAT) đưa vào tầm ngắm để thay thế HLV Akira Nishino dẫn dắt tuyển nước này.

Theo nguồn tin của tờ SMM Sport, FAT chuẩn bị bổ nhiệm một HLV người Tây Ban Nha tiếp quản vị trí của nhà cầm quân người Nhật Bản, Nishino, người vừa bị sa thải do “Voi chiến” không đạt được mục tiêu ở vòng loại World Cup 2022 khu vực châu Á. Chiến lược gia đang được FAT nhắm đến là Sacristan, cựu trợ lý của HLV Frank Rijkaard tại CLB Barcelona giai đoạn từ năm 2003 - 2008.

Ông Sacristan từng gửi đơn ứng viên dẫn dắt tuyển Thái Lan trước thời điểm HLV Nishino cũng làm điều tương tự, nhưng sau đó FAT đã quyết định chọn chiến lược gia người Nhật Bản vào năm 2019.

Nguồn tin của phóng viên SMM Sport tiết lộ, nhà cầm quân 57 tuổi người Tây Ban Nha được cho là mục tiêu hàng đầu của FAT để thay thế ông Nishino. Theo đó, FAT đang xem xét lại hồ sơ của ông Sacristan để đánh giá.

Sau khi làm trợ lý cho Rijkaard giúp Barcelona vô địch Champions League (2005 - 2006) và 2 lần vô địch La Liga, HLV Sacristan chuyển sang dẫn dắt các Celta Vigo, Barcelona B, Real Sociedad và Girona. Nguồn tin trên cho rằng, khả năng Sacristan trở thành tân HLV của tuyển Thái Lan là rất cao khi có mối quan hệ thân thiết với đồng hương Carles Romagosa, người đang là giám đốc kỹ thuật của FAT.

Theo báo giới Thái Lan, trong thời điểm chờ bổ nhiệm HLV mới, các cựu tuyển thủ từng trợ lý cho ông Nishino là Anurak Srikerd và Issara Sritaro sẽ tạm quyền dẫn dắt tuyển quốc gia chuẩn bị cho AFF Cup (dự kiến tổ chức vào cuối năm nay) và vòng loại thứ 3 Asian Cup 2023.

Human Torch và Iceman

Human Torch trong truyện Marvel – người có năng lực điều khiển lửa của Fantastic Four và Người băng – Iceman của X-Men. Sẽ là một trận đấu thú vị nếu 2 nhân vật mang năng lực trái ngược này đối mặt nhau.

Nếu trận đấu giữa 2 nguyên tố này xảy ra, Human Torch có thể điều khiển ngọn lửa của mình để làm tan chảy băng của Iceman và ngược lại, Iceman lại có thể dập tắt đi ngọn lửa của Torch. Vì thế, trận đấu thú vị này diễn ra sẽ khó đoán được tỷ lệ thắng sẽ về phần ai.

Crystal và The Elementals

Crystal – cô công chúa hoàng gia của Inhuman, người sở hữu khả năng điều khiển những nguyên tố: Lửa, đất, nước và không khí. Các thành viên của Elementals cũng sở hữu năng lực của lửa, đất, nước và không khí lần lượt là: Hellfire, Magnum, Zephyr và Hydron.

Đây được xem là một trận đấu thú vị trong Truyện Tranh Marvel mà khó ai có thể lường trước được phần thắng thuộc về phía nào. Với khả năng của mình, Crystal có thể khống chế bất kỳ thành viên nào của Elementals nhờ vào lợi thế khắc chế của mình. Tuy nhiên, một thành viên khác của Elements cũng sẽ tấn công cô, điều này làm cho trận đấu lặp đi lặp lại mãi như thế.

Wolverine và Deadpool

Ở truyện comic Marvel, Deadpool là một nhân vật có sức mạnh cũng như năng lực tự phục hồi cho bản thân khi có vết thương. Những khả năng này cũng đã tạo nên một người Sói – Wolverine của Marvel.

Taskmaster – hay được biết là Tony Masters, ngay từ nhỏ đã được sở hữu khả năng sao chép và huyết thanh siêu chiến binh của Đức Quốc xã, hiện tại, anh là một tên lính đánh thuê với biệt hiệu bậc thầy cận chiến, sau khi đã rời khỏi S.H.I.E.L.D.

Nhện Nhọ – Spider Man được cho là một trong những khắc tinh của Taskmaster, bởi lối đánh và chiến thuật của Nhện Nhọ không mang đặc trưng cố định nào, mà dựa vào sự thông minh, nhanh nhạy và khả năng phản xạ. Với sức mạnh tương đồng nhau, trận đấu giữa 2 nhân vật này sẽ rất kịch tính và kết quả thắng sẽ thuộc về người bắt được sơ hở của đối phương.

Scarlet Witch và Captain Marvel

Trong xuyên suốt Marvel Comics và cả phiên bản điện ảnh, cô phù thủy Scarlet Witch và nữ đội trưởng Captain Marvel đã xuất hiện với nguồn sức mạnh bá đạo, điều này làm cho phần lớn độc giả phải nôn nao mong chờ trận đối đầu giữa 2 nữ siêu anh hùng này.

Pînă acum, vestul sălbatic american a văzut toate tipurile de eroi, dar Rango este o specie absolut nemaivăzută: un cameleon mititel cu suflet mare, care își pune în gînd să salveze un orășel la fel de bizar precum creaturile care-l locuiesc, și, care, pe parcurs, se transformă în eroul care odinioară doar își închipuia că este.

Regizat de Gore Verbinski, cel care a creat seria Pirații din Caraibe, și avîndu-l ca voce pe Johnny Depp, Rango este un western în care aventura, umorul ireverențios și persoanjele înduioșătoare se combină pentru a ne oferi filmul perfect pentru întreaga familie.

Povestea începe cînd Rango, după o viață în care a privit lumea din spatele geamurilor unui terariu, se trezește abandonat în deșertul Mojave. Rătăcind prin Vestul Sălbatic, ajunge în orășelul Dirt, care arată exact precum îi e numele. Acolo unde speră că se va pierde în peisaj, Rango se trezește imediat că iese în evidență, chiar dacă ceilalți locuitori sînt o țestoasă pe post de primar, un șarpe cu clopoție renegat, niște cîini de preerie care jefuiesc bănci, șopîrle-pistolari, dar și prima cameleoniță pe care Rango o vede în viața lui. Fără să vrea, Rango devine șeriful orășelului amenințat cu dispariția din cauza lipsei apei. Acum i se oferă ocazia să se transforme în ceea ce, pînă nu demult, doar visa să fie: unerou adevăarat. De-acum nu se mai poate ascunde!

Rango este primul film de animație al lui Verbinski, cel care a transformat franciza Pirații din Caraibe într-o fabulă contemporană care a fermecat publicul din toată lumea. “Rango este povestea transformării unui cameleon într-o legendă a Vestului Sălbatic, iar Johnny Depp intră în pielea acestui personaj cu grandoare și îndrăzneală. Ne-am inspirat din spaghetti western și, împreună cu animatorii extrem de talentați de la ILM am reușit să creăm un univers cinematografic unic, care omagiază temele clasice ale unui film cu pistolari din Vestul Sălbatic cu mult umor și cu întorsături de situație extrem de amuzante.”

Paramount Pictures și Nickelodeon Movies prezintă RANGO, o producție A Blind Wink / GK, o animație realizată de Industrial Light & Magic. Regia îi aparține lui Gore Verbinski, iar scenariul, lui John Logan, bazat pe un story de John Logan, Gore Verbinski și James Ward Byrkit. Filmul e produs de Gore Verbinski, Graham King și John B. STORY BEHIND THE SONG The idea: A couple months ago the 5 of us were gathered round a piano prepping for a video shoot scheduled for that day. We were brainstorming ideas when one of us (can’t remember who!) got off task and starting flicking a piano string. Since all of us are poster children for ADHD, it wasn’t long before ALL of us had joined in — banging out a beat, plucking a string, or hitting keys. The brainstorming meeting had been sabotaged beyond repair, but another music video idea was born!

The song: We went through several song possibilities before landing on “What Makes You Beautiful” by One Direction. We like this song because it’s catchy and the music, lyrics, and video passed our “sesame street” test (meaning family friendly). We thought about the ramifications of taking on a teenybopper boy band tune as five middle-aged married guys who are desperately holding on to their hairlines. One of us even has a son older than the guys in One Direction (we won’t say who)

BUT you know us — we love a good challenge! This one was so fun to write that the “challenge” part of it never was felt. We just acted like kids playing the piano and it totally worked!

After we figured out the main “techniques” of playing the piano unconventionally we loved experimenting with swapping out chords and throwing the structure of the song around until it clicked.

The location: Where to film? Fitting in video shoots between touring, writing, recording, editing, and spending time with family has always been a challenge. Let’s be honest, even getting all 5 of us in the same place at the same time has been a challenge! We had a big sold-out show at the Sandy, Utah Amphitheater. We all determined to be at the show and film the video right on stage sometime between sound check and the performance. Sounds like a good idea right? Well…because of a lot of factors, including weather (we had a huge storm sweep in and knock everything down on stage during sound check) the only time we had to film was between the hours of 2AM – 7AM the morning of the concert. In the video at 2:30 you can see the morning light start breaking — we literally played into the sunrise!
