The head is done, aside from the final paintjob and eyes that im planning to do, but its the build is pretty much finished aside from a bit of mane on the back to hide the head band better.

Im really pleased with how its turned out and how the mechanics work on it. Even fixed the chin rest so its easier to trigger now.

Ill post the finished product once its done.

phew, feels like it's really been a while since I drafted a post like this, lol. anyway...

I've wanted to make a little M.A.I.A. of my own for ages, and I've finally done it! This lil gal is made of cardboard, hot glue, and dreams.

I had lots of fun making her and figuring things out on the fly, and I'm so proud of how she turned out. 💙

In my 3D Studio Art class we had to make enlarged objects out of cardboard, so my made my 3DS running my favorite game, Rune Factory 4 :D

If I had more time I would have made it waaaaayy more polished, but I'm proud of what I finished with :)

this project has taken me 3 days, which is way less time than most of my even simpler cardboard sculptures, however i think my speedy construction is probably due to the fact that i've been snowed in for like half a week or so and have had little else to do. so i've mostly just been doing this

the og goal was to build up a cardboard base and then paper maché on top of it to then paint, but now that i'm done with the cardboard and it's the best cardboard sculpture i've ever done i am scared to ruin it or that the finished product won't live up to my expectations. so. uh. im gonna give it some time and maybe i'll do that at a later date but i might also just not. who knows 👍

This was a really fun project, I just wished I had some extra time to correct the ears so the sunnies can sit right in.

I learnt a lot of new things and might make a second attempt in the future with less excessive cardboard to punch through. 🤣

It was the first time I tried to style hair with cardboard. So a huge shoutout to @rachaelstott because your hair tutorial and work on Capaldi's DW comics helped me a lot. 🤌✨✨

Hi Sleepy! I've been okay. I finally decided to full send doing art classes in college which has been simultaneously fun and painful because I have multiple 3 hour studio classes and all my joints hurt afterwards 🥲 here's some of my work so far (with my face covered lol)

Doing a head test after i did some fur layering, planning to work on it more tomorrow. Need to replace the jaw strap i have atm with something sturdier since an elastic strap isnt strong enough to trigger the mechansims properly, and the chin strap i had split, so will be doing some adjustments on the jaw.

This my shark i made from cardboard. He's name is Oscypek (a smoked type of cheese made of salted sheep milk witch is popular in my country especially in moutains). I love him so much and i made him with lemon shark in mind. It's not 100% lemon shark but it has little similarities.

(Hes not done, but hes more or less done for now. Hes also accidentally almost life sized, so thats hella cool too!)
