I don't think I really have any really solid headcanons and also canon keeps validating me left and right (FLUFFY DOMESTIC DIAFAM IS REAL). mostly just kind of...impressions and general thoughts, if that makes sense! lately though I've been kind of obsessed with thinking about Lilia's hair, and specifically when/why he ended up cutting it. (l-look, we're bouncing around the timeline and I gotta make decisions about these things when I draw, it's relevant) (I mean I would probably be weirdly fixated on this anyway, but.)

I think I've settled on the idea that he kept it long until he went to NRC, partly because 1) I like drawing The Ponytail, and 2) I think he thought of NRC as a chance to reinvent himself a bit! he gets to go and be a wacky carefree teenager for a few years and have fun! (officially he's there to keep an eye on Son #1, but how much trouble could he get into, really.) so he gave himself a Cool Teen Haircut to go with his fresh new Cool Teen Persona!

also maybe he had some reflection on his hair's troubled past with three kids...

...and had to weigh his vanity versus the fact that he was going off to be around hundreds of kids on a daily basis, and. the choice suddenly seemed obvious.

Gift: Diplomacy The gift of diplomacy makes its way when you allow the invisible barriers between you and the other to v a n is h, letting true and authentic love in. This is not the artificial mold of love born of the people-pleasing tendencies of white lies and fair weather. This is an honesty that knows the perfect timing with the appropriate words. When you delve into this gift, it's as though you've downloaded the essential recipe for resolve; instead of infusing more conflict into a situation, you lessen it by adjusting your behavior and energy to what is needed in the moment -- the work of a true alchemist. This is accomplished only when you've mastered your own emotional state (having witnessed firsthand its chaotic unreliability) and operate using your inner guidance system. When you free yourself from your tumultuous inner world, you become the catalyst for peace.

Shadow: Conflict The shadow of conflict appears when you are overly identified with your emotional state, a turbulence that wreaks havoc on your entire system. There is a lot of deep-seated emotion packed into this theme; feelings, moods, and sensitivities are all present. There may be a fear of intimacy, perhaps due to early-life experiences when you were attempting to navigate your emotional world, resulting in extreme self- reliance as a defense mechanism. On a collective level, this has materialized as borders, racial divides, and war at large. It is a source of separation and the seed of tribalism. You either own those aspects of self that plunge directly into conflict and keep it as a dysfunctional sanctuary, or, contrastingly, avoid conflict at all costs to remain the people pleaser. To unravel this war-prone programming on the collective level, we must first seek to de-condition individually. Through the shadow, you have the potential to resurface with the soft armor of the gift.

You have synesthesia?? How does that work for you? Is this how you manage to use the word “meat” in a way that makes me go “holy shit that’s good and cool i need to read that sentence four more times” instead of “ew”?????

I do!!! Letters, numbers, and words all have colours and sometimes visual textures for me-- and while numbers and letters on their own are generally only a single colour (7 is a bright, grassy green!!! while "K" is a pale peachy pink, for example :] ), when i put them into words they often take on entirely new colours, some of which even bleed into each other like watercolour paints. Ironically, its why i use the UK spelling of "colour" in the first place-- the "u" turns what looks like a dull, desaturated blue into a smeared blue-and-purple that i find really pretty to look at :]] so when i say i like to paint with words, i kinda mean that literally 😂😂😂😂😂

But yeah, i'd imagine thats why my writing is Like That™ to some degree-- a lot of what im doing behind the scenes involves matching the colours and visual textures of a given word with all of the others in order to evoke a particular vibe or image in my writing. There are a lot of layers to how i write, but this is probably the one that takes both the most time AND is the one i happen to talk about the least WKDJWKSJEJ
