i got 99% on an exam i was dreading and i was sooo brave and i only threw up a little bit :) unfortunately i had to take 2 tabs of adderall at 4pm and subsequently i will not be escaping my dogshit sleep schedule tonight :( but i got 99% :)
#the one i missed was bullshit. normally all questions are formatted with the generic names so thats the direction i studied#this exam was backwards#if you asked me what classification irbesartan was i obviously wouldve known it was an angiotensin ii receptor blocker. duh.#but avapro? how do you get avapro from irbesartan?#it was multiple choice so i just went. 'okay. all i gotta do is recall all the generics for these 4 classifications and#from there i can hopefully remember all of the brands for each of them!'#reader. i did not do that.#avapro is not adalat. adalat is fucking nifedipine. unfortunately 'anti-hypertensive calcium channel blocker' was an option#ugh.#so close to 100%#whatever. the point is i dont have to retake it tomorrow. which is nice because tomorrow is for studying for#my institutional pharmacy final. which i CANNOT fail because then i would have to retake it on THE SAME DAY as my math final#i cant study on thursday (the day of my institutional final) because if all goes well im starting my externship that day#and finishing my shift one hour before class#so. again. i am VERY glad i passed this test#god ive got so. much. homework. to catch up with. and studying. fuck.#wont have much time to study for my math final because i took fri-sun shifts too and the math final is on monday#but thats fine because i am good at math. hashtag girl#no one will read all these tags but im journaling

Things Iām currently worried about.
My sisters upcoming surgery to release her tethered spinal cord. She wonāt be able to basic tasks for 2+ months. With potential 6 months to 1 year for full recovery. A walker for awhile after surgery, physical therapy to help. And her anxiety has ramped up to when she video chats me she is sobbing so bad she canāt breathe. She can only focus on the what ifs and worst possible outcomes and spirals out. Sheās starting therapy soon to help with that because after talking with her I didnāt realize how bad she has gotten.
My mother just telling me sheās had a lump for 3-4 years that she finally mentioned to her doctor and is getting an ultrasound on it. Which should be fine but what theyāre calling it if you look it up the potentials are infection in the limb (no signs of any of that) or possible lymphoma/leukemia symptoms. Upon reading those symptoms Iām nervous. Because she will get so weary and achey by the afternoons she can barely move. And will say it hurts in her bones, but chalks it up to she must have whole body arthritis.
My fatherās calcium score test that shows he has a blockage in the artery they call the āwidow makerā and is being put on a statin ASAP. Theyāll call to schedule a stress test which will be the does he need a stent or not decision. He came home yesterday from the grocery store with his statin, ice cream and mini powdered donuts. He doesnāt seem to get that yes you exercise hard and are in shape but it doesnāt mean you get to eat whatever you want. Because thatās how he has thought about it for years. Now I get to be bad guy and change his diet.
Iām sure it will all be ok and everyone will be fine/recover. Itās just a lot at once and Iām always the calm, keep it together one who is the rock. And all I want to do is scream.
#my sisters surgery they said she will be in significant pain after and it can take 6months-1year for full healing and normal function#my mother has a lot of mysterious random symptoms of severe pain she has POTS and an arrhythmia that were just found#the lump is a lymph node near the groin and she was like well it never hurt me so š¤·š¼āāļø#my dad is extremely active and had slightly elevated cholesterol but that calcium score test I would tell anyone to get#my mom had it too and she has high cholesterol but no blockages

Good morning to every organ in my body except my stomach. Get your shit together
#went to a pediatrician for 5+ years for stomach issues and was on a medicine for 3+ of those years that sucked the calcium from my bones#just to try to help stop the pain only for her (very kind dr. btw) to really have no idea what was going on and just said it hurt-#when I was stressed (which is very logical for me) but it's such a weird issue#I was tested for celiac disease (which my sister has) but that wasn't it and if I get a small stomach virus it kicks the pain back up-#for weeks before settling back down. I can't have energy drinks anymore because the high amount of caffeine-#makes it feel like I've been punched in the stomach & I'm also cutting down on or completely cutting out red meat in my daily diet because-#my stomach doesn't seem to process it well and my stomach is already highly sensitive to greasy foods#the weekly stomach pain returned months ago and I'm getting real tired of it sometimes the acid reflux medicine doesn't even help either#and I've had symptoms of a stomach ulcer on and off but a lot more recently in the past year or two but I never got scoped to check for one#so now I have to go to my current doctor and talk with her and hopefully I'll get scoped but who knows I don't think it's an ulcer though#my stomach hurt while writing this it knows I'm talking shit lol#personal

@spacerocksarethebestrocks here's another one!!!
depending how much sodium, potassium, and/or calcium is available, you can get different feldspars! labradorite is my favorite.
remember: stay OUT of the miscibility gap.
there are NO FELDSPARS in the gap. you can't fit that much calcium and potassium in one feldspar. it's not done.
#*vibrating with joyous excitement*#once i figured them out these triangle diagrams were one of my favorite things#i still remember that time i had to like generate one for a presentation i did#based off of waters i sampled!!!!#from a karst waterfall so like very high calcium and we tested it and everything#and then i had to do a bunch of math and then boom#diagram!!!!

Understanding Calcium Deficiency: Symptoms, Causes, and Solutions
Are you frequently bothered by issues like brittle nails, slow hair growth, weak bones, or tooth decay? These are signs that our body isnāt in the best condition.
In our fast-paced lives, we often neglect our health, andĀ proper nutritionĀ becomes a luxury for many. However, our well-being should never be taken lightly. Our poor lifestyle choices can lead to various deficiencies and health problems.
Among the major health issues affecting many people is calcium deficiency. Calcium is crucial for building and maintaining strong bones, teeth, as well as supporting the proper functioning of our heart, muscles, and nerves. The lack of calcium can lead to problems like osteoporosis and hypocalcemia.
To address calcium deficiency, itās essential to understand its causes, which include inadequate calcium intake, menopause, vitamin D deficiency, aging, low magnesium levels, pancreatitis, and genetic factors.
The symptoms of calcium deficiency might not be evident in the early stages but can worsen over time. Signs of deficiency include muscle spasms, confusion, numbness or tingling in the extremities, fatigue, depression, hallucinations, brittle nails, and weak bones more susceptible to fractures.
When calcium levels drop too low, it is referred to as hypocalcemia, and this can be harmful. The body tries to maintain normal blood calcium levels by pulling calcium from the bones, potentially leading to osteoporosis.
It is crucial to check for calcium deficiency through a bloodĀ calcium testĀ during routine medical checkups. If abnormal results are found, further tests for ionized calcium, urine calcium, phosphorus, magnesium, vitamin D, parathyroid hormone (PTH), and PTH-related peptide (PTHrP) might be recommended.
To meet the bodyās calcium requirements, it is important to consume foods rich in calcium. For adults aged 18-50, the recommended daily intake is 1000 milligrams (mg) of calcium, while adults aged 51 and older need 1200 milligrams per day. Foods such as beans, green leafy vegetables, dairy products like milk, yogurt, and cheese, cottage cheese, almonds, legumes, and dietary supplements can help fulfill these needs.
In conclusion, taking care of our health is of utmost importance.Ā Calcium deficiencyĀ can have serious consequences, but with a balanced diet and proper intake of calcium-rich foods, we can support our bodyās well-being. Remember to consult a doctor if you suspect any health issues or before taking any dietary supplements.

Tw: almost dying, muscle spasms, seizures and weird body fuckery.
I just had my second ER trip of the month. I thought the amitriptyline was making my heart weird in a non-POTSy way and I had a feeling that something was just wrong. So I woke Mothman up and asked him to take me to the ER.
Which is just as well because as soon as we got there I started experiencing uncontrollable muscle spasms and my resting heart rate shot up to 150.
The triage nurse bolted me through the corridors into a room of about four doctors and seven nurses. The rest is a blur but I remember crying for Mothman because I couldn't see him past the wall of medical people around me.
Turns out I was extremely hypocalcemic, as in my blood results for my ionized calcium levels were so low it was a medical emergency. If Iād stayed home and assumed my rapid heart was from POTS I likely would have had a seizure or possibly a heart attack.
The doctor in charge told me heād only ever seen the spasmodic movements I was making in textbooks before, but it was so distinctive he knew right away it was hypocalcemia. Blood tests confirmed it. My serum levels were ānormalā but my ionozed levels were virtually zero.
Also, my thyroid is shot. I need to get more tests done. Possibly linked to the hypocalcemia. Possibly why my migraines have been so bad. Basically it was the b12 fiasco all over again. All my test results looked normal until I almost died
Again.
Anyway. Iām home now after being given a massive dose of IV calcium and a ton of othe meds. Sadly, Iām not allowed to take the amitriptyline anymore, at least until weāve figured out my thyroid and why my calcium was so low while still appearing normal. Thankfully I was only on it for a week at a very low dose so the side effects of coming off it cold turkey shouldn't be too bad. Iām dreading the head pain returning. But who knows, maybe the massive dose of calcium will help with that. Keep your fingers crossed for me, eh?
Iām going to try and sleep.
Or just stare into the void for a bit. Havenāt decided yet.
