I built a miniature Va11 Hall-A Bar inside of my PC!!
Va11 Hall-A PC Parts & Build list
PC:
CPU : Intel I9 14900k
GPU: Intel Arc A770 16gb
Ram: Corsair Dominator 64gb 5600
Mobo: Maxsun Terminator Z790 D5 wifi
Hard drives M.2: Samsung 990 pro 2tb, Samsung 970 evo plus 1tb, CT 1tb, Adata 500gb
PSU: ROG Thor 850 P2
Cables: Cablemod.com custom shortened and sleeved
Water loop distro : EKWB FLT 120 reservoir + D5 pump
Water loop cpu block: ThermalTake Pacific Mx2 Ultra
Water loop radiators: Alphacool HPE 20 x 2
Water loop hardware: 15 Alphacool, 3 EKWB, 2 Alphacool soft, 2 granzon
Water loop tubes: EKWB Acrylic tube 14mm, Alphacool 13/10 soft
Air Cooling : ThermalTake Toughfan 120mm x 3 + Controller
Air Cooling : Noctua 40mm pwm server fan x 2 (non visible)
Additional RGB Control : Coolermaster controller
Case:
Lian Li PC V600, left side mount, released in 2006, I acquired it in 2015 from PC Recycle in sodo Seattle.
I had to track down a new foot, one had been missing since I acquired the case (ebay)
Mods:These are the case mods I did personally
Cut a hole for the cpu mounts in the Motherboard mount plate as this case was designed for older hardware
Cut two 120mm blowholes and added aluminum covers (Dremel)
Cut Front and rear windows into side panels (Dremel Max)
Moved PSU from vertical placement in the lower right side of the case in front of the CPU to horizontal placement in the top left in old drive bays.
The PSU bracket had to be cut to show the OLED on the side.
Modded the side panel rail slide to accommodate the PSU, I used the original aluminum stand the psu was on, cut in half and epoxied with JB weld.
Changed and moved Power/ Reset switch to the back of the case, shortened and spliced the cable
I cut and bent my own 14mm acrylic tubes (hobby miter, heat gun).
Cut and made two way mirror for the front panel
Plastic "truss" is both functional and aesthetic. It came from a Gunpla accessory kit and has two cables passing through it and it acts as the GPU support. I could only get red and had to paint it.
Notice that some logos are missing/ covered, I dislike having a case as an advertisement. The Rog eye on the PSU is mostly covered but iykyk, most of the word "Intel" on the ARC GPU, Two of the Thermaltake logos on the fan edges, the Paint on the Thermaltake Mx2 Ultra and Maxsun terminator heatsink. (I will eventually cover the visible SSD with a heat sink, cover the fan info on the rear and work a cover for the word "dominator"). the one logo explicitly unchanged is the LianLi case badge, if I think of a perfect replacement, maybe then.
Mod I did not do:
I did NOT shorten and sleeve my own cables, I used cable-mod.com. I am not confident in my ability to do this.
BAR:
"Bar Tiny" Re-ment sets from Japan, 17 sets involved.
I customized the color of the bar and chairs and shortened one table for the mezzanine. The whole bar, minus barback- is on a removable 7 inch piece of black acrylic for cleaning.
Jill Stingray Nendoroid
Jils Cat, it sleeps on the GPU
Jill Stool: Jill is glued to a cute doll stool to see over the bar
Jill Accessories non-Nendoroid: cellphone, purse, coat (ebay)
Dorothy Haze Nendoroid
will be added on release.
Bar Back:I made this myself
Black acrylic sheet, and frosted acrylic rods.
Doll Light power kit: 8 Led lights, 4 incandescent lights
USB Doll light power strip
Other Bar Accessories:
Overhead Hanging farmhouse light
trash, mop, broom, pan, mop bucket,
2 blue fuzzy chairs
Miniature plants
Miniature Microphone
Mini bottle Dom Perignon, an xmas gift from my friend nemo, it's
on the top shelf
Problems and changes:
1. ARGB, pretty pretty pain in the ass. 4 pieces of software........
2. The water loop was changed extensively as hardware came in and space limitations were discovered. The biggest change is that I originally planned to have one radiator on the front of the case, the tubes running over Jills head and to light the tubes as lighting for the bar, to do this the fan would have been in the case proper pushing the whole bar to far into the mobo, it didn't work, so the loop was moved to the top of the case and caused me to have one complex bent tube
Second, I had planned the loop to use one sideport on the distro, but space limitation moved both ports to the top causing the complex fittings setup in that corner.
3. The MOBO, sigh. This has been clearly the most challenging choice I made in this build, I really wanted it to work perfectly too, but I rolled those dice because: Aesthetic+function, the board I wanted (https://en.colorful.cn/en/home/product?mid=84&id=400d19bc-5655-49e1-b391-df00b60935ef) was to great a risk for the cost. This was a silver medal.
I generally dislike the design options I had in the Z790 series of the big board makers (I HATE big logos), especially the full ATX, there was one M that interested me, I should have picked it . This board has potential, but the BIOS is underdeveloped and compatibility has been problematic, I had to do a tricky outdated style BIOS update right from the box, and have had to reset the cmos a couple times. It skips BIOS on general boot and though stable, it will have to be addressed eventually, it doesn't have a proper sleep because of some issue between uefi & legacy. It may end up replaced, which will require a full build teardown.
the Turbo fan built into the board doesn't seem to function
Alos, the two argb connections on the mobo dont work, or I can't get them to recognize anything, necessitating the Coolermaster controller for the PSU and Distro. it is shoved behind the distro along with a Noctua 40mm

Part deux of the Ash Wastes terrain focus is up, and since now I'm paranoid that anything I don't control directly is likely to be disappeared off the internet, I've elected to simply archive it in its entirety below the fold.
[H3] LADDERS, HATCHES AND RAILINGS
As any good ganger will tell you, a good vantage point is key to getting the drop on your rivals. To help fighters clamber around your Habs and gantries, the Thatos Pattern kits come with a host of extras - including a versatile set of ladders.
These ladders are modular, to allow for alternate strut heights. They're separated into a top section, plus short and long middle sections that allow any combination. They also can hang freely on the bars of the platforms, allowing you to combine them with whatever terrain configuration you have gone with.
These curved railings, vital for any sniper lurking near the edge of a significant drop, are also very easy to add to any build. These can be attached without glue, and will sit on the curved bar on the platforms.
Want to add some additional details to the underside of your platforms? Both of the platforms and the Hab have fittings on the underside to attach accessories from the Sector Mechanicus terrain kits – such as cables, chains, and ladders – further adding to the variety of build options on offer.
The platforms are also the same thickness as Sector Mechanicus floors, which allows for the Sector Mechanicus railings to be used on them.
For that little bit of extra detail – not to mention more cover – the underside of the roof has fittings for a long ladder section (D39, for those of you checking your construction guides) to glue into, giving gangers easy access to the roof.
Speaking of extra detail, each Hab comes with four tension cables that attach to slots on the central strut. These can be assembled in two ways – down to the base, or up to the Hab. Or if your strut is tall enough, and you’ve got cables spare… both!
Need to clamber up a stack of Habs? You can add a ladder attachment (D40) to the bottom of a ladder. This allows it to neatly and gluelessly join two curved bars, giving you an easy way to access a roof, a second Hab, or a mounted platform.
The Habs were designed to allow for easy movement of models – the roof sections don’t need glue, so you can easily take them on and off, and there are plenty of wide openings in the sides of the Habs. The kit also comes with panels, however, allowing you to fill some of these openings in. Combined with the careful placement of ladders, this can make for an interesting battlefield where fighters must climb and dodge their way through a maze of modules and walkways.
Need to keep the sun off your face… not to mention that pesky rain of radioactive dust? The awning can be built in 2 ways. It can attach to a balcony piece (A18), or you can attach two parts (D13 & D14) Which will let it attach to the curved bar.
The Hab walls have fittings for aerials, a hanging lamp, or an anemometer… which is useful to let you know when a storm is on the horizon!
The kit also comes with a shelf of stowage, and an electrical box, which can be glued onto the blank wall or blank panel. These kinds of details are great for marking out some Habs as workshops, armouries, or Rogue Doc chop shops.
There are several separate components, such as aerials, a searchlight, and radar, which can be glued on the corresponding fittings found on several other parts. Much like the stowage, these can mark out a vox-equipped Hab, or a full comms centre.
Need an ash wastes objective or just an interesting piece of terrain? The strut top made from D15 and D16 has the same fittings as the Hab, to allow for two of the aerials to attach to it and create a communications array.
Strut D17 actually has six fittings to attach aerial accessories to, allowing for plenty of customisation and stacking.
There are two aerial features (D33 and D34) – a wind gauge and a communication emitter – that will both fit onto the top of the vertical aerials.
Want to connect a Hab roof to a Sector Mechanicus walkway or Zone Mortalis level? Like the platforms, a Hab roof has curved bars – and with the Hab being the same height (to the curved bar) as a Zone Mortalis column, this means it is the correct height to place floors.
A Zone Mortalis walkway will sit onto the vertical bars on the platforms and the Hab roofs. With these being curved, they can pivot and tilt at different angles.
Like the railings from Sector Mechanicus, Zone Mortalis and the Gang Stronghold, the railings will fit onto both of the other terrain set floors and vice versa.
The walkways fit the same gap as Sector Mechanicus floors. Use C15 (not C16) to attach the two together – this allows for several walkways to join two Habs or platforms.
That’s all for now – hopefully, these articles have given some insight into the versatility of the Thatos Pattern terrain sets, and inspired you to plan your very own ash wastes outposts!

The "FDE A2" Project taught me a lot about what I wanted to get out of a "General Purpose" AR, so in my usual fashion, I've once again started another upper build -
Everything so far:
BCM M4 Flat Top 'DEMO' Upper
JSE Surplus Teardrop FA
Magpul Enhanced Ejection Port Cover
Badger Creek Ordnance Gen.3 Ambi Charging Handle, Tan
Centurion Midlength 14.5" CHF/CL Lightweight Profile Barrel w/ Tabbed/Pinned Gas Block
Forward Controls Design 3P15 Flash Hider w/ Thread Protector
Geissele Mk8 Super Modular Rail, 13.5", DDC
SIG Romeo5 w/ Scalarworks 1.93" LEAP/01 Mount (belongs to @bureau-of-mines, borrowing it for a quick pic cause I think it looks better on this build than my EOTech)
EvolutionGear IS-EG NGAL
Surefire M640DF Scout Pro w/ Z-Bolt Dual Function Tailcap, Tan (will likely change this to an M640V later)
Somogear Knock-off Modbutton Lite Switches
Magpul Wire Control Kit, FDE
Edgar Sherman Designs Sling (AOR-1) w/ BCM 1" QD Swivel
The philosophy is that this build won't be as optimized for night vision/suppressor use as the 11.5", but it's set up to readily accommodate it. I want a rifle that pushes out a little further day or night but remains light and maneuverable.
Basically a walmart great value URG-I.
Since I now have the rail estate for it, I moved my light to the inboard side of the gun - this allows more of the beam to shine straight ahead of me and plus I can now access the clicky button on the tailcap with my thumb without having to rotate the entire gun out of aim.
Why have the modbutton if I can reach the tailcap now? Redundancies, my child; should the somo modbutton ever go bad, I have a backup solution. Same reason the laser has a fire button on top, but I'm using a modbutton with that as well.
On top of all this, having the modbutton cables protruding in towards me helps further shield them from potential wear and abrasion.
Things to be added later:
BCM Gunfighter Vertical Foregrip, Mod.3 (MLOK), FDE (should hopefully get it later this week)
Aimpoint T2 Micro (or another SIG Romeo 5. I'm not made of money lol)
KAK K-Spec Enhanced BCG, Downward Venting, NP3 Finish (if they ever restock...)
Surefire M640 Body w/ KM2-C Head (to let me transplant the M640DF body/head to the FDE A2 build and have a positive shutoff for this build)
Suppressor of some form or another (goal is a YHM T3 Turbo, but we'll see what I get)

Heart of Stone - ch 10
Desperation was starting to weigh on him; at the station's entrance he'd managed to get through the outermost layer of nailed up boards with just his bare hands but behind those were more boards, and piled up sand and crates, and rusted metal sheeting, and he swore he saw fencing beyond it that stretched from ceiling to floor. These outer materials had been worn by storms over time and had come away with some muscle but Unsuur knew, as he looked down at his splinter-filled, cut, and bruised up hands, that he wouldn't be getting through the stuff behind it so easily. ((Continued below cut))
Once she'd gotten the cable and engine repaired Mi-an had come down to try and help him but he'd sent her back across the canyon instead -- they needed more people, different tools, something to get them inside or down the cliff, and until that help got here he was stuck either waiting or throwing himself at the wall of junk between him and the inside of the station. He HAD kept at it for a little while after he'd sent Mi-an back to town but had been forced to stop not long after; he was running out of things he could move on his own and the more he'd moved the more things shifted as well, putting himself in danger of being buried or injured if something suddenly gave out from under or above him. It was agonizing to realize he had to stop for his own safety. It would've been bad enough to have his best friend trapped and out of reach... But Dawn was down there too.
Without physical labor to distract him he felt stuck inside his own head. How far of a drop was TOO far of a drop? Unsuur didn't know, and didn't want to think about it. They had to have survived...it wouldn't be fair if they hadn't.
C'mon Mi-an...where are you? Where's everyone else?
After a few more half-hearted attempts to budge some very solidly anchored metal sheets Unsuur went over to sit on the bottom step at the side of the building; his hands were burning and he knew he had sand (and who knew what else) in every one of the numerous cuts across his fingers and palms, and as he looked them over he noticed he'd cut his arm too. A quiet voice in his head raised concerns about infection and getting sick but there wasn't much he could do right now aside from hope Mi-an brought a first aid kit back with her, as he couldn't exactly wash his hands anywhere at the moment.
Time really dragged on when you were alone and waiting for help. At least Justice and Dawn had one another down th--
-that was odd. He was feeling a vibration through the seat of his pants. Or, he thought he was; Unsuur pressed his palms to the step underneath him, then to the railing -- that was a vibration, for sure, but...why? Where was it coming from? Did the tram engine shake the whole building when it was activated? He stood and moved to the entrance again, holding his hand against the building; the vibration was much stronger, and Unsuur could both feel it in his hand and in his chest...it was more like a rumble now. What...was going on?
It kept growing in strength and now the ground under his feet was shaking too. Something was happening ins-
The sound of a train reached him and Unsuur's instincts screamed at him to get away; he threw himself to the side, still not quite understanding what he was hearing or feeling, until with a deafening blast the junk and barricades in the station's entrance exploded outward and a-- a...train came barreling through. With a giant geegler on t-- wait a second, he'd seen that geegler before! Down in the Breach! And it was riding on the top of a modified train engine that had plowed through the stuff blocking off the entrance with a wicked looking cattle guard on its front.
As debris rained down around him Unsuur watched as the train engine roared away down the track that curved around to meet up with the main rail line, and as he pushed himself to his feet he heard the gallop of an approaching horse and stood, stunned, as Justice rushed by on the back of one of Cooper's missing horses - the white one, specifically.
So the geeglers had stolen the horses, damaged the bridge, and now was--
"SANDROCK! PREPARE TO MEET YOUR NEW MASTER!"
The geegler's deep voice bellowed out and echoed off the cliffs and immediately after its shout there was the awful screech of brakes fighting against the engine still trying to push the train forward. Unsuur broke into a sprint to try and follow, wishing he also had a horse, and got around the station's side in time to see the geegler bend down and seize something from within the front of the train and hurl it into the air behind it an instant later.
Unsuur saw a flash of coppery red soar into the air and his heart leapt into his throat.
Dawn.
Helplessly he watched her arc through the air, arms flailing; Justice kicked the horse into a faster gallop and rushed under her, throwing himself out of the saddle to tackle Dawn mid-air right before she hit the ground. His momentum carried them both away from the rails and the gravel around it and into a marginally softer landing in the sand along the tracks where they roughly rolled for several feet before coming to a stop, with Justice sprawled on top of Dawn.
Then, in one final ear-destroying cacophony, Shonash Bridge broke apart under the train's weight. The engine, supports, rails, and the giant geegler fell out of Unsuur's line of sight down into the canyon -- exactly what they'd feared would happen to one of their own trains.
His ears were ringing and such a horrible sight had left him a little shaken, but-
Dawn... Dawn was alive! Justice too!
Justice was rolling off the builder as Unsuur got there; he dropped to his knees beside her. "Are you two ok?" His question was for both of them but his attention was completely on Dawn.
She winced as she began to sit up; Unsuur slid a gentle hand behind her back to help her. There was a deep cut over her right eyebrow which had bled freely down her face and still seemed to be oozing with bright purple bruising around that eye, her bottom lip was busted, and her shirt and overalls had tears in the fabric and was blood-soaked along the torn edges (and thankfully nothing seemed obviously broken - all limbs were accounted for and she didn't seem to be favoring any of them, nor were they crooked or hanging lifeless).
Out of the corner of his eye Unsuur saw Justice scramble to his feet before rushing over to what remained of the bridge to peer carefully over the side; Unsuur didn't see any obvious major injuries -- he seemed just as banged up and bloodied as Dawn but if he could still move at that speed then Unsuur wasn't too worried about him. His gaze moved back to the builder and met her own; she let out a little whimper and leaned into him and he slid his arms around her shoulders as her fingers knotted into the front of his jacket. Relief flooded him and he had to keep himself from squeezing her too tightly since he didn't know what internal injuries she might have.
Over the ringing and the blood pounding in his ears he could just barely hear a commotion coming from behind them; turning his head as far as he could manage he could see a dust cloud rising from the direction of Gecko Station and what sounded like dozens of pounding feet. He didn't want to let Dawn go but he couldn't risk any remaining geeglers rushing them either.
Very gently he pulled away, and loosened her grip on him. "I have to check that those aren't more geeglers coming after us," he murmured. After a moment she nodded and let go, freeing him to stand and clamber back up the rocks and sand to get a better look at the station.
There was a small horde of geeglers pouring out of the busted entrance but they were fleeing out into the desert. Did they have another base somewhere out there? Unsuur was probably the only one in good enough shape to pursue them but should he? They should know whether the lizards were regrouping or just running away but it would be really dangerous to go by himself.
...he'd better not. He and Justice could go searching for them later - it's not like the geeglers could easily get into Sandrock anymore so in the short term they wouldn't be much of a threat.
Justice was back with Dawn, squatting on his heels beside her, when Unsuur came back down the hill; surprisingly Captain was there now too.
"-insane!" the sheriff was saying.
Dawn looked down into her lap. "I was trying to disable the engine. I only managed to throw the brakes before it grabbed me."
"Still! We could have lost you over the side! You could've been seriously hurt if I hadn't been close enough to catch you!"
"I know," she said quietly, pulling her knees up to her chest and wrapping arms around them. "But I couldn't let it reach Sandrock."
Unsuur dropped back down beside Dawn, reaching out to rest a hand on her shoulder. "What happened?" It was only now that he noticed the grip of a revolver sticking out of the front pocket of Dawn's overalls -- with her knees pushing up it was almost tickling her chin. Justice must have given it to her; her sword was gone.
Justice let out a huff and flopped down into the sand on his backside. "Well, we fell into the lower levels of the station. Luckily we weren't too banged up, and it was somewhere I'd been before it all got closed off. I was able to guide us to where I knew we could get up to ground level, fighting for every inch of ground we covered, but then we ran right into the main group of geeglers, and right as we were about to be overrun Captain here-"
The cat meowed loudly at mention of his name.
"-hit a button that turned on the old air system and blew a lot of them away," Justice went on. "With their numbers reduced we were able to take their president head on, then he fled on the train! And Dawn here jumped on as it left!"
Unsuur looked to her in amazement. That was...brave. Reckless. Terrifying. If the geegler hadn't thrown her free... He shifted his hand across to her other shoulder and she leaned into him again. "The rest of the geeglers are running for the hills - we won, sheriff."
All three of them looked up at the sound of scattering sand and hurried breathing; Mi-an appeared at the top of the dune, looking down at them.
"What the heck, guys?! I was worried sick! Gah! You're lucky to be alive!"
"Is anyone else coming?" Unsuur asked.
"Fang's waiting for us on the tram platform on the other side. I left Owen and Hugo at the station entrance and Pen ran off after the geeglers but...with the way in unblocked and you guys out here, I guess we didn't need their muscles after all." She looked them all over. "Are you all ok?"
"Roughed up but nothing broken. Unlike our bridge..." Justice answered, sighing heavily. He stood and began to climb up the dune toward Mi-an; Unsuur hadn't noticed it before but now he could tell Justice was limping, and rubbing at his right arm as he walked -- the same side he'd landed on when he'd caught Dawn and they'd rolled. Hopefully nothing was broken as Justice claimed.
Unsuur looked back to Dawn; he had to tilt his head to see her face since she was almost under his chin. "Do you want to rest here awhile? I'll stay with you."
After a pause she shook her head and pulled away from him, going to stand. Unsuur stood up quickly and offered her a hand up; she reached to take it then yanked hers back as she saw the state of his hands. "Unsuur..."
"Oh. Right. Careful, I might give you a splint-" he cut himself off as she took his hand in both of hers, examining it.
"Light, I hope you don't get tetanus from these. Let's get to Fang."
"You've been through a lot, you don't need to worry about me." Unsuur still held his arm out for her to grab; she did, and then kept hold of it once on her feet.
They trudged after Mi-an and Justice with Dawn using his arm to keep her footing in the sand - he suspected she was rapidly tiring out as they walked; in the distance they could see Owen and Hugo still waiting near Gecko Station. They waved at their approach and then climbed as a group back up to the tram platform and in groups of two traveled across the canyon (except for Pen - he was still trailing the geeglers so now Unsuur and Justice didn't need to worry about heading out into the desert right away).
"Will need...clinic," Fang announced after he'd done a cursory examination of them all.
Hugo had already left but Owen stuck around to walk with them to the clinic; he went to hold the door open for them but paused to give them all one more once over. "Once you all get patched up come down to the saloon -- after today's events I think drinks and a good meal is in order. On the house, of course, and I'll keep a table open for you guys."
"Thanks, Owen, that's mighty nice of you," Justice said, ducking around him to step through the clinic door. "I will happily take you up on that."
Owen nodded and looked to Unsuur and Dawn questioningly.
He was more exhausted than anything but by now he figured he should be hungry even if he didn't feel like he was; he was definitely thirsty anyway. "Sounds good to me."
As she let go of Unsuur's arm to follow Justice inside Dawn shook her head at Owen. "I appreciate the offer but I think after Fang's had a look at me I want to head home."
Owen nodded again, and as she went to walk by him he put a hand to the small of her back. "Consider it an open invitation: one free meal, whenever you feel up to it." He paused then chuckled, smiling warmly down at her. "I've been meaning to invite you for a sit down at the saloon anyway. I like to sit and chat with Sandrock's newcomers, see if I can help them adjust to desert life in any way, and with everything that's happened since your arrival I feel it's been long overdue! Any time you'd like to talk, let me know."
Deep in his gut Unsuur felt a little spark of...something. Not quite worry. Maybe it was closer to a nervous inadequacy but that didn't seem right either. Whatever it was flared to life as Dawn, with Owen's hand still on her back, smiled back up at the man. "That's kind of you, Owen. I may take you up on that whenever I have time to catch my breath."
Owen laughed and gently nudged Dawn toward the clinic's entrance. "I'm not a hard man to find so, anytime you like, just holler at me."
As Dawn disappeared through the doorway Unsuur reached out to put a hand on the door - he didn't need Owen to hold it open for him or hang around longer than he needed to, though he was thankful the man had come rushing to help them. The gratitude made the sudden nervous feeling both confusing and surprising; he didn't know where it had come from. Owen was a friendly man and nothing about that exchange had been anything out of the ordinary since he'd invited Mi-an out to lunch too when she'd first arrived. A smile between two people didn't mean anyth- well, maybe it did but not with- no, it...
It...
All right, maybe this 'don't talk about it' promise was going to bite him in the backside sooner than he'd thought. ...especially considering how today could have ended much worse.
Shoot your shot...
Owen had stepped away from the door when Unsuur had grabbed it. "If you happen to see Mi-an could you let her know the free dinner offer extends to her as well?"
"I thought she was walking with us," Unsuur replied, turning around to check the way they'd come.
"I did too. Not sure when she broke off since she didn't say anything," Owen said, looking that way as well. He shrugged when Unsuur turned back toward him. "I'll be in the saloon waiting -- no rush, of course! You guys take care of yourselves, first and foremost."
"If I see her I'll tell her. We can walk by her workshop to check if she went home too," Unsuur said.
With that Owen headed off, waving and calling a quick "see you in a little while!" over his shoulder.
Unsuur headed into the clinic and saw Justice sitting, shirtless, on one of the beds against the far wall - he was more bruises than anything but Fang seemed to be finishing up with him; Dawn was sitting with her arms braced against her knees and her head almost between them on a low stool near the door, her back to Justice and Fang. She didn't stir much when he walked over to stand next to her but Fang and Justice came over not long after; Justice was pulling his shirt on, letting out a pained grunt with every movement of his right arm.
"Everything where it should be, doctor?" Unsuur asked. He flinched slightly as X, with a loud cackle (Unsuur's ears had had more than enough of loud, sudden noises today), dropped down to Fang's shoulder from somewhere above their heads.
"Fine! Fine! Big baby."
Justice got his head through the neck of his shirt and shot the bird a glare. "Hey! I am not a big baby!"
"Nothing...broken. Bruising will linger...the cuts...superficial," Fang answered. "Builder...?"
Dawn lifted her head, grimacing. "I'm alive still, yeah. My turn, I'm guessing?"
At Fang's nod she slowly rose and walked with him back to the examination area.
"You will need...to undress."
"I think that's our cue to step outside," Justice said, tugging his shirt down into place.
Unsuur nodded, feeling his ears warm at the thought. He followed Justice outside and thankfully there was another stool and some crates out here in the shadow cast by the building. He took the stool when Justice leaned against two crates stacked one on top of the other, slowly working his right arm up and down and around.
"What a damn day..."
Unsuur nodded at him; it wasn't often that Justice swore but today had truly been a "damn" day. A damn scary one.
They waited in silence; eventually the clinic door opened and Dawn stepped out with Justice's jacket hanging over her arm and Unsuur could see the hem of her overshirt sticking out from under it. She had visible stitches in the cut above her eyebrow, the blood had been cleaned off her face and neck, and her undershirt was totally sleeveless so the scrapes and cuts along her bare arms were in full view and were stained a dark green from whatever Fang had used to disinfect them (a strong medicinal scent clung to her as well - it made his nose burn a little it was so powerful).
"Thanks Dawn - forgot it in there." Justice took the jacket from her and slung it over his uninjured shoulder. "All patched up?" As she nodded wearily he gave her an apologetic, almost guilty look. "Look, uh... I'm really sorry today went...like that. And I'd hate to impose on you further when I know you want to head home but, we've got to let Matilda know what went on today. You feeling up to that?"
"I guess. And I guess if we're going to city hall I may as well take Owen up on his dinner offer."
"Well all right then - we'll let Fang fix up Unsuur here then walk over together."
Right. His hands. Unsuur stood up and hurried for the clinic door. It took longer for Fang to remove the splinters than it did to clean out the cuts; his gloves had done a acceptable job at protecting him but he'd need to toss them once he got home - with as much canvas as it'd take to patch them up he would basically be making a new pair anyway. The worst of the cuts (including the one on his arm) got bandages, the rest just needed the same green stuff that was stained across Dawn's skin.
When he came out Dawn had taken his spot on the stool and Justice had his jacket back on. They took the quickest path to city hall while also stopping by Mi-an's workshop (but she wasn't there) and luckily Matilda was just walking through the city hall's door; it didn't take long to give her the full account of what had happened and she hurried over to her desk to start planning what to do about the Shonash Bridge while they headed down to the saloon.
As promised Owen had a table waiting for them -- a quiet one tucked in the corner. Unsuur gestured for Dawn to have a seat and slipped in next to her once she was settled, and he purposely stayed toward the end of the couch to ward off anyone trying to shove their way in again.
Not...not because he didn't want anyone else sitting next to Dawn, but because he didn't want anyone hassling her after what she went through today.
Owen came over as they'd sat down; he already had a pitcher of water and some glasses for them and Unsuur downed half a glass in four gulps while Dawn and Justice ordered. He still didn't feel hungry but ordered some cold cactus anyway -- it was a chilled dish and he hoped it would help with how thirsty he still felt since he'd get sick if he drank too much water.
Between the three of them there wasn't much chatting even before the food arrived but it felt like every person who walked through the saloon's doors beelined over to their table to ask about the bridge and express thankfulness that they'd all survived the ordeal. By the sixth or seventh repeat of that conversation Unsuur could tell Dawn was getting thoroughly annoyed, and was looking more exhausted by the minute.
He lowered his head and leaned toward her. "I can move if you want to go home."
She stared down into her half-finished dinner. "I...think that would be best. Sorry to be a bother -- I have the worst headache at the moment."
Unsuur slid over and out of the way; Dawn murmured what he assumed was an apology toward Justice and got up, hurrying to and then disappearing through the door. Justice shook his head as he watched her go before turning back to his plate.
"I hate that she had to go through that. Hopefully we can make it up to her," he muttered before shoving a forkful of mushrooms into his mouth and seeming to swallow without really chewing. "-was a dang good shot though for someone who hadn't held a gun before today."
"Really?"
Justice nodded. "Not great, bit of hesitation on the trigger, think she's scared of the recoil still, but yeah...not bad. Hit about half her shots. Saved my skin a couple times. She's definitely earned the right to keep it, though I want to give her a more official, less "trial by fire" training on handling herself with it."
He remembered seeing the revolver's grip jutting out of her pocket...didn't remember seeing it after Fang had tended to her though. "She'll need a holster."
Justice blinked then quietly grumped under his breath. "Dang it --yeah, she will. Take her one in the morning, will you?"
"Yes sir. Standard issue with ammo pouch included?"
"Yeah. I gave her my back up sidearm, any of them ought to fit."
Unsuur finished off his cactus and two more glasses of water before heading to the Civil Corps building. The holsters were a little dusty and so was the bronze sword he pulled from storage too (he wondered what had happened to Dawn's sword as they sadly didn't have another iron one he could give her). He took both holster and sword home and cleaned them up, ready for delivery tomorrow, and laid down on his bed but it didn't take long to sit back up again. His hands were throbbing and between that and his mind feeling like a kicked wasp hive he didn't want to try and rest just yet.
Dawn had...come pretty close to dying today. The fall, the fight through the geeglers, almost being on the train as it and the bridge collapsed into the canyon... Life was rough out here in the desert and accidents could happen at any moment; he couldn't stomach the thought of losing his chance to tell her about the crush he had, but also...he wasn't ready. He felt stuck behind a mental hurdle born out of not having a heart knot or something else in hand to give to her -- which was ridiculous, right? He didn't NEED one. But he WANTED to have one.
Ugh. Thanks, Arvio.
Unsuur got off his bed and began to pace. It felt like a no-win situation: he wasn't ready to talk to her, and yet after today's events it almost felt like an ominous clock was hanging over him and counting down the time to "too late" but the clock was invisible so there was no way to tell when "too late" would be. There had to be a solution here...some sort of middle ground. If only he could talk to her about it without talking to her.
...huh. If he'd said that out loud he would have thought it was dumb, but just thinking it to himself...maybe that was the answer, and he knew how he could actually do it.
He went over to his nightstand and got a pad of paper and a pencil, and carried it over to his kitchen table. A letter would be like talking and if he didn't sign his name then she wouldn't know it had come from him; he could use them to stall for time to look for an appropriate replacement while also satisfying that annoying voice in his head urging him to just go for it.
Let's see, where to start, and what to say... Aha.
Dear Dawn,
It was pretty neat how you rebuilt the stage after the sandstorm...
-----------------------------------
Once the letter was written he did actually feel more at peace, more normal. He set his alarm to go off at a really early hour so he could head to Dawn's house while it was still dark and slip the letter into her mailbox, along with an opal he'd found last year (it had started out a really dark yellow but now was a warm, buttery gold color -- would she keep it with the pink one? Or maybe make something out of both of them together. That would be really neat). When he'd returned home he set his alarm back to his usual wake up time and had fallen right back to sleep which meant he woke up feeling the best he'd felt in the last week or two; they still had to figure out what to do about the bridge and he'd be ready to do whatever the Civil Corps (or Dawn) needed him to do no matter what, but at this exact moment he felt great both in body and spirit.
When he headed outside he found a note taped to his door regarding a fireside meeting tonight to discuss the bridge situation; Unsuur folded it up and stuck it into his pocket so he wouldn't forget and then realized he had Dawn's handkerchief in that same pocket. He'd asked Vivi for help on getting the bloodstains out then had gotten sidetracked with all the extra patrols and completely forgotten to take it back to her (and now it was incredibly wrinkled, having spent all that time in his pocket). Woops. He should go return it now, since he needed to take her the holster and new sword anyway.
Heidi was leaving as Unsuur made it to the gate; Dawn was standing just inside her fence looking over a blueprint that he assumed Heidi had delivered. It didn't take her long to notice him there and she began folding up the paper with a small smile.
"Good morning -- how are your hands?"
He held them up one at a time for her to see, shuffling the holster and sword from one hand to the other as he did so. They ached but none of the cuts had broken open in his sleep. "They're fine. Won't even notice them in a few days. How are you?"
Gingerly she rubbed her fingertips over the bruise and cut above her brow. "I've felt better, that's for sure. It'll all heal up eventually."
Unsuur again shifted the holster and sword to his other hand so he could reach into his pocket and pull out the handkerchief. "Justice asked me to bring you a holster, and I grabbed another sword for you too. I also forgot to give this back."
She stared at the handkerchief then started giggling quietly as she took it from him. "I honestly forgot about it too. You could've kept it, I wouldn't mind -- I have over a dozen of them."
"It's yours so you should have it back," Unsuur said. He put the sword in his now-free hand and held it and the holster out together. "The ammo pouch is empty. Justice wants you to learn how to handle your revolver so I guess he'll have ammo for you later."
She shoved the handkerchief into a pocket then stuffed the folded up blueprint under an arm before reaching to take the sword from him. "I'm...not too sure I want to keep that, to be honest. I used it because I had to but it's..."
Unsuur waited but she didn't seem inclined to finish the thought. "It takes getting used to, and there's a lot of rules to follow to keep yourself and others around you safe when you're wielding it but Justice will teach you everything you need to know."
She wrinkled her nose and stuck the sword under the same arm as the blueprint; when she took the holster from him she held it much more delicately than she had the blade. "I still don't know... I guess I should at least learn what to do in case there's ever a 'next time' with it."
"I hope there never is," Unsuur replied, following it up with what he hoped was a comforting enough smile. He never wanted to see her in that much danger again. "With the geeglers gone Sandrock will be much safer. Comparatively."
"Aside from its bandit problem," she said with a little amused huff.
"Yeah. Aside from that, but we'll catch Logan eventually."
"I believe you will," Dawn agreed, voice soft and smiling at him briefly before letting out a heavy sigh and looking over her shoulder toward her house. "I should go put all this inside and then head to city hall -- I need to talk to Matilda about land usage and rights."
Unsuur looked from her to her house and back again curiously. "Why's that? Wanting to expand?"
"Sort of...?" came her hesitant answer. "I -- I DO want a bigger place. I'm a firm believer in keeping my bedroom as my bedroom where only bedroom things happen. I rest better if I don't take work of any kind into the same room I sleep in so I'd like at least one room added on but I currently can't make the house bigger unless I sacrifice yard space or build a second floor, and while I don't anticipate the house falling over any time soon I doubt the walls are sturdy enough to support the weight of another story." She paused to blow out another sigh, long and slow and more like a frustrated growl by its end. "Seems like Mason cared only enough to keep the place livable but not...erm, livable. Like he gave up making it a home and it was just a box to sleep in. I either have to essentially rebuild the place OR buy more land to expand outward instead of up. With that being said, what I need on an immediate, short-term basis, is permission to take my fence down and store materials and completed bridge trusses on the land next to mine."
The mention of 'bedroom things' had momentarily distracted him but he got the gist of the conversation. "More room is always nice, regardless of the reason. I used to live in a much smaller house near where the temple is now but I moved to be closer to work. And, I guess you'd need a lot of room to construct an entire bridge."
"Not the ENTIRE bridge - just the support trusses. Mi-an and Heidi are handling the bridge base and I got the trusses because I technically have more space than Mi-an does, and even then it's still not enough... Well, nothing'll get done if I don't get started... I'll see you later."
"Sounds like you'll be really busy for awhile," Unsuur murmured as she turned to head back inside. Once she got busy again it might be days, if not weeks, before they'd have a chance to spend any time together without Unsuur feeling guilty about it -- why did Sandrock have to need her so much? ...she wasn't busy now, though. What if- "Hey, Dawn?" he asked, before he could stop himself.
What am I doing...? I already sent her the letter.
She paused, looking back at him.
"Have you ever tried just quietly watching the sunset? It's nice. I know a lot of good places to sit too, if you'd like to sometime."
Did I really just ask that?
It was a bit of a struggle to keep his expression neutral and also keep eye contact; Dawn looked surprised and for several breaths simply stared back at him. All the moisture in his mouth felt like it had relocated to his palms.
And then...she smiled. It crept slowly across her face accompanied by a red tint to her cheeks and an obvious shyness in her eyes, but it was a smile he'd come to lo- that he'd do anything to see.
"I'd love to."
She'd...actually said yes. He swallowed hard a few times to try and get his throat to cooperate. "When would you like to?"
"Would...tonight be all right? Or tomorrow?"
Unsuur nodded slowly. "Tonight, then. I'll come back early enough that we can walk out and sit in time to watch the sun go down."
"I'll see you tonight, then."
She took a few steps backward toward her front door before turning to walk inside; Unsuur headed back across the tracks, stopping outside the Blue Moon and staring at the bottom step leading up to the porch without really seeing it. He'd...really done that. He'd just...
Just...asked Dawn out on what was essentially a date.
...would this count as a date? They were friends, and friends hung out; he hung out with Justice from time to time and those weren't dates. It didn't HAVE to be a date. They were just going to watch the sunset together. Friends did that. So did couples, but they weren't a couple yet.
"You all right there?"
Unsuur dragged himself out of his own head and glanced up to see Justice standing a few feet away, concern plain on his face.
"I'm fine, sheriff. Sorry. Spaced out."
"Right... Did you drop that holster off to Dawn?"
"Just did." Holster...gun... Focus on anything other than what he'd just done. "She doesn't seem interested in keeping it or the revolver."
"Fair enough. Was she still home when you left or did she already rush off to start in on the bridge?"
"She went inside as I was leaving but I know she planned to go to city hall today. Why?"
"Got a special commission I'm hoping she can knock out without too much effort - it's one I've been sitting on for awhile, think it's finally time to get it made. I'll go see if I can catch her real quick. See ya."
"Bye." Unsuur watched Justice continue on toward Dawn's workshop for a few steps before turning and heading up main street in the other direction.
Where should they go tonight... It should be somewhere with a great view and not too hard to get to, but also not where anyone could invite themselves to join them (and not where roosters or other pests could disturb them either). That ruled out a lot of places Unsuur liked to spend quiet time in (he also wasn't going to consider any place on the opposite side of the canyon -- not after she'd nearly died over there) but there were still a few good places to consider.
Actually, he knew exactly where they could go; if you crossed the tracks near the Civil Corps building and went down a worn footpath, and then across an equally worn wooden bridge that crossed over a dusty gully and then went directly west from there you'd reach a flat stretch of bare sandstone that had a great view of the cliffs and distant mountain range. In the setting sun's light the snow-covered peaks glowed in brilliant oranges and reds that gave way to a gentle white shimmer as the moon rose; it would be a beautiful view and it was far enough from town that he didn't think anyone would stumble on them (unless they were purposely looking, but...that didn't seem likely).
That settled that. Now for the worst part: waiting.

Product Spotlight…Unity Tactical Hot Button
Long have I been a proponent of a rifle mounted weapon light. I’ve used a number of different lights over the years. Lights from Streamlight and Arisaka. More recently I’ve been using a lot of Cloud Defensive lights, mainly their REIN series. I’ve mostly been a fan of just a good old push button tail cap. You know, the ones that have a full on and also have a momentary on function. Now Cloud Defensive has a very nice weapon light tape switch which I received with a full kit from them with their REIN Micro 2.0. Since that experience, I’ve been exploring other viable options for light control for any additional lights I might purchase in the future. Enter…Unity Tactical with their Hot Button.
I had been on the search for a new light for my recently built Geissele 10.3” SBR in DDC. Of course I wanted to find a light with an additional shade of anodized FDE, but I also wanted to take this opportunity to try something different than a traditional tail cap or light switch pressure pad. The light that I ended up choosing is a Modlite System PLH v2 that I picked up from Brownells. This particular light came with only the body, light head, battery and a charger. I would still need a tail cap and a rail mounted lighting switch. The Modlite uses Surefire compatible tail caps, so I opted for one that accepts the Surefire pressure switch connection. When looking for switch options over at Brownells, I found Unity Tactical. I had heard of Unity Tactical in the past, but had yet ordered or used one of their products. The Hot Button in FDE with a 7 inch cable connection happened to be in stock, so that’s what I ordered.
Upon receiving both my new light and Unity Tactical hot button from Brownells… I looked over the Hot Button and really like the idea. Rather than having a larger sized light pressure switch on the top of the rail, the Hot Button is a smaller device that takes up just a single M-Lok slot in my rail. With an SBR with limited rail space, this is a welcomed addition. The side of the Hot Button that faces the shooter has the button itself. Very much like the tail cap buttons I’m typically fond of, it has both a momentary on as well as an always on press. It’s angled on both sides which with my grip using my left hand, it feels very natural to place my hand upon the rail with my thumb pressing against the button for that moment I need to activate the light. On the opposite side of the shooter, the Hot Button is also angled, but with serrations that could easily be placed against a barrier for added stability. Overall, the design of the Hot Button can act as kind of a hand stop.
So far I’ve been thoroughly impressed with this new light switch from Unity Tactical. I do understand they have a couple other designs as well. Looking forward to trying out some of their other options when I find the need for a new light switch.

Part two - Packing for the long trip
If you don’t already have a suitcase, choose carefully! One friend had her suitcase burst open, another had one wheel break. Two big, hard to carry, maneuver and stow, too small you can’t take what you need. There are so many types of suitcase out there, you have to choose which one is right for you.
Start looking on Amazon, you don’t have to buy it from Amazon, but it’s a great place to research. See what is out there, what do other people think? Does it come in the colors you want? Wheels / no wheels? How big. Soft or hard? Whatever you pick, don’t go cheap. Thrifty is always good, but this is one of those times when quality will tell over time.
One more important point, the heavier the suitcase is, the less you can put in it. Airlines have weight limits, and there will be times when you will have to carry it, even if it has wheels (cobblestones will wreck havoc on your wheels for instance).
My Vagabond and I have been traveling together for over 40 years. Back in 1984, he did the research and we bought our first set of EAGLE CREEK suitcases. Note: I am not sponsored but would gladly do commercials for this company. Out first EAGLE CREEK bags are a two piece set. The small bag could be secured easily to the bigger and go through as one, or used as a separate day bag, carry on. They are heavy duty fabric (we chose dark Blu so dirt doesn’t show easily). The big bags also have straps that can come out so it can be a backpack or shoulder carry as well. At some point after many miles, mine developed a minor zipper issue. Customer service was wonderful, we sent it off, they fixed it and got it right back to us. Don’t have any pictures with me, but these things are amazing. Did you notice this is all in present tense? We still have them and use them in the van (why do we need suitcases in the van? That’s yet another story).
In 2010, my Vagabond took me on a trip to Rome, Italy. Oh my! I love that place! We had many wonderful adventures, great food, took too many photos and decided as we are getting older, we want wheels. Once again my Vagabond to the rescue. He spent lots of time researching bags not just EAGLE CREEK. What did we end up with, you guessed it, EAGLE CREEK. Our current bags have all the features of the originals, with the addition of wheels and retractable handles.
Once you obtain your suitcase, how do you pack it? Lay everything out next to the suitcase. Packing cubes are helpful if you have them. In the bad old days, I used large ziplock bags. Roll your clothes they take less space and usually look nicer when you take them out. If your using zip locks, sit on the bag before you close it. Get as much air out as you can. Packing cubes? Fill them up as much as you can. I have three, one large and two smaller, I am just using the smaller cubes this time.
The first picture shows my bottom layer, I moved the jeans and added my tennis shoes initially as I started out wearing hiking boots. They were not practical, we cheated a little and sent a box back. Take advantage of any odd shaped spaces. I line the bottom of my suitcase between the handle rails, with small things. Do you see the clear bag? It’s waterproof so liquids go in there. I always put it on the end that will be on the bottom when the suitcase is standing on its wheels. The little black pouch at the front and red plush bag contain charge and plug adapters as well as some duplicate cables and the charger for my camera battery. Fill up any shoes, whether it’s that big jar of vitamins or just extra socks, don’t waste any space. Alcohol wipes are very handy and yes, I have tea.
The red bag in the second layer opens out and hangs up with my toiletries. I will admit to sticking other stuff in. We each have one of these and use them in the van as well. The two bigger tan pouches contain beads and a few bead working tools (this is also where I put my mini sewing kit). The smaller tan pouch has whatever doesn’t have another place. The Teal green and grey thing is my down vest. You can see my packing cubes. Once you have everything in, cinch those straps tight, that’s what they are there for. Close your suitcase carefully. Make sure zippers meet ahead of the zipper pull. Don’t be tempted to use the zipper to force it, you may be sad later.
Once you have your final pack and the suitcase is closed (hopefully a few days before you leave), open it back up and take a picture, remove a layer and take another picture, do this till you get to the bottom. No I don’t imagine you will want to write a blog post just like this one, the pictures will simplify repacking as you travel ( if you remember to tag them so you can find them later….)
One more picture, this is my portable clothesline. I mentioned it the other day. Easy to attach anywhere and you just open a twist to hang whatever, no clothes pins required.
Any questions so far class? Would you like to see individual pictures of anything? Next post in this series will probably be on traveling with electronics.
Have an awesome day, and if you read this far, thank you. Let me know what you think

Little America Hotel, 500 Main St, Salt Lake City, UT 84101
Little America Hotel was clean, comfortable, safe, and centrally located. It had the usual amenities, though nothing too special. The room was tastefully decorated and spacious enough for two people. I had a view of the parking lot and fountain. Some rooms have mountain views. Some of rooms are in the tower, others around the property in two story buildings (more like a motel).
The complex is actually quite large and include 850 guest rooms, conference rooms, a banquet room, gym, outdoor pool, sauna, two gift shops, restaurant, bar, free wi-fi, ATM, fountains, a garden, etc.
In-room amenities included two mini fridges, safe, hair dryer, iron, fluffy white towels, C.O. Bigelow toiletries, shower cap, sewing kit, coffeemaker, glasses, ice bucket, pen, pad of paper, big flatscreen TV (lots of channels, including cable), makeup remover pads, tissue paper, etc.
The hotel is right by the Courthouse light rail station, so it’s easy to get around. You can also easily walk to Temple Square, Delta Center, Salt Palace Convention Center, and City Creek Center. Or hop on the light rail or bus to go elsewhere.
The bed was very comfortable – down pillows, down comforter, feathertop bed. It was quiet all night. If you want a quieter room, check to see if they can place you in a room away from traffic. Oddly, housekeeping knocked on every door (except the ones with the do not disturb sign?) around 8 AM.
There were some things that were missing – no in-room information/guide for visitors, no slippers, no robe. They only included one tea bag and the coffee was from some brand that I never heard of. Parking is not included and neither is breakfast. The coffee shop on-site seemed quite popular.
Service was very friendly and professional.
4 out of 5 stars

Step-by-step installation instructions of Submersible Pumps
Installing a submersible pump requires careful planning and adherence to safety guidelines to ensure proper operation and longevity. Here's a step-by-step guide to installing a submersible pump:
Step-by-Step Installation Instructions
1. Preparation
Read the Manual: Carefully read the pump’s installation and user manual provided by the manufacturer.
Safety Gear: Wear appropriate safety gear such as gloves, safety goggles, and non-slip footwear.
Inspect Equipment: Inspect the pump and all components for any visible damage or defects.
Tools and Materials: Gather all necessary tools and materials, including pipe wrenches, Teflon tape, electrical tape, pipe fittings, a torque arrestor, and safety rope.
2. Check the Well/Borehole
Clean the Well: Ensure the well or borehole is clean and free of debris.
Measure Depth: Measure the total depth of the well and the static water level to determine the required length of drop pipe and electrical cable.
3. Assemble the Pump and Accessories
Attach the Discharge Pipe: Connect the appropriate length of discharge pipe to the pump’s discharge outlet. Use Teflon tape on threaded connections to ensure a watertight seal.
Install the Torque Arrestor: Attach a torque arrestor to the discharge pipe just above the pump to prevent movement and damage due to pump start-up torque.
Connect the Safety Rope: Securely attach a safety rope to the pump, ensuring it is long enough to reach the top of the well.
4. Electrical Connections
Check Voltage and Phase: Ensure the pump’s voltage and phase match the power supply.
Splice the Cable: If needed, splice the electrical cable to the pump’s motor leads using waterproof connectors or a heat-shrink splice kit. Make sure the connections are secure and waterproof.
Install the Control Box: If required, install the pump control box near the power supply.
5. Lower the Pump into the Well
Attach Guide Rail (if applicable): Install a guide rail or centralizers to keep the pump centered in the well.
Lower the Pump: Slowly lower the pump into the well, using the safety rope and discharge pipe. Avoid dropping or allowing the pump to hit the sides of the well.
Secure the Discharge Pipe: Once the pump is at the desired depth, secure the discharge pipe at the wellhead. Ensure the pipe is properly supported to prevent strain on the pump.
6. Final Electrical Connections
Connect to Power Supply: Connect the electrical cable to the power supply, following local electrical codes and standards. Ensure all connections are tight and waterproof.
Grounding: Properly ground the pump to prevent electrical hazards.
7. Test the Installation
Initial Test: Turn on the power and allow the pump to run briefly to check for proper operation. Monitor the pump for any unusual noises, vibrations, or leaks.
Check Flow and Pressure: Verify that the pump is delivering the expected flow rate and pressure. Adjust as needed according to the pump’s specifications.
8. Complete Installation
Secure the Wellhead: Seal and secure the wellhead to prevent contamination.
Monitor Performance: Periodically check the pump’s performance, especially during the initial few days of operation, to ensure everything is working correctly.
Safety Precautions
Electrical Safety: Always turn off the power supply before making any electrical connections or adjustments.
Handling: Handle the pump carefully to avoid damage to the motor or pump components.
Professional Assistance: If you are unsure about any part of the installation, seek assistance from a professional or a licensed contractor.
By following these steps, you can ensure a safe and effective installation of your submersible pump, leading to reliable performance and extended service life. For more info contact Ebara Pump Suppliers in UAE or call us at +971 4 2522966.

DIY Projects To Give Your Backyard a Makeover
Whether you’re a home seller trying to attract a buyer or you’re a buyer who wants to make personal changes to the property, you can start today. Few home improvement tasks are as rewarding as giving the backyard a makeover.
These outdoor spaces are extensions of our homes, offering a space to relax, entertain, and enjoy the beauty of nature. The best part? You don’t need to be a professional contractor to transform your backyard into an oasis.
]
With a bit of creativity and effort, any homeowner can embark on a DIY adventure that will add value to their property and bring immense satisfaction. Let’s dive into some exciting DIY projects to give your backyard a makeover.
Building a Fire Pit or Outdoor Fireplace
There’s something magical about gathering around a fire. Building your own fire pit or outdoor fireplace can be a game-changer for your backyard! Choose a location away from structures—your home, fencing, toolshed, etc.—or overhanging branches.
To create a simple fire pit, you need to do little more than dig a shallow hole and line it with gravel or sand. Then, surround it with rocks, bricks, or pavers. If you’re feeling more ambitious and want an outdoor fireplace, consider buying a kit. It simplifies the construction process while allowing for customization in design.
A fire pit is one of the best DIY projects to give your backyard a makeover because of its usefulness throughout the year. Whether it’s a brisk fall evening or a cool summer night, around the fire pit is the perfect place to gather with friends and family.
Designing and Constructing a DIY Pergola
A pergola adds style and function to your backyard; it provides shade without completely blocking sunlight. Designing and constructing a DIY pergola might seem daunting, but it’s entirely achievable.
Start by selecting the location and measuring the area where your pergola will stand. Using quality materials, such as lumber, is essential for durability. Dig post holes, and set the main support beams in concrete for stability.
Once the concrete has set, attach horizontal beams across the top, securing them with metal brackets or screws. Consider growing climbing plants, like wisteria or jasmine, over your pergola. As they grow, they will create a beautiful, natural canopy.
Building Eye-Catching Deck Railings
Constructing deck railings can be a satisfying undertaking that goes beyond adding a functional element to your outdoor space. One of the most rewarding aspects of this project is the sense of accomplishment that comes from creating something with your own hands.
You can choose from many different materials. Wood railings offer a natural look, while metal delivers a more modern and eye-catching design. If you have the right tools for installing cable railings, you can bring an even more elegant and unique look to the yard, so let your creativity run wild!
Whether you are a seasoned DIYer or a novice looking to try your hand at carpentry, this project provides a manageable challenge. The construction methods vary depending on the railing material, and installation involves measuring, cutting, assembling, and finishing.
Now is the perfect time to roll up your sleeves and embark on your DIY adventure. Don’t wait any longer to create a paradise right in your backyard!

IT Lasers Inc. AIM-1/DLR Aiming Designator
In most of the post-1993 photos of Delta using the AIM-1 series lasers on the Model 723 Carbine, the DLR model seems to be the most common over the original AIM-1/D.
The DLR can be identified by the extended guard protruding from the diode window (however, some of the early DLR models had the same flat glass diode window as the original AIM-1/D model.) This feature allows it to mount an accessory lens cap or a special blue diffuser cap with a variable density aperture (both of which are sadly missing with my example).
The unit I received also came with a PVS-4 rail grabber mount, which with some examples, were machined with a wider countersink and a custom slot to fit the laser in place of the typical carry handle/bracket adapter block.
Admittedly, my unit is in much poorer aesthetic condition than my AIM-1/D, but both work equally the same, and really I was just after the proper remote cable that the DLR kit came with.
My unit was assembled August 1995 and inspected on Christmas of the following year.
