*This upper is from Tony's Customs and is somewhat of a placeholder while I'm waiting to receive a more clone-correct one with Colt proofmarks and no forge marking.
*Technically, my lower is a Colt Match Target lower and not a true Commercial M16A2, but it still has the correct A2 buffer tower profile and the Redi-Mag hides all sins.
Setup accurate for the 1993-1996 period.

Calvin has a Colt Model 723 with a fun switch, and Pat has a Remington 1100, so I'd wager they'd be able to hold their own until the National Guard arrive.
The boys over at the CCC have enough M16s, G41s and ammo to last them a while before they either get overrun, successfully flee the base-turned-hive or rescued by surviving elements of the CCC.
Dave and his coworkers would also fare the same way as the CCC does, only their ammunition count is more limited and smallet to that of the CCC. They'd either get overrun by infected or flee their station with some infected on their tail.
Henry stickmin fandom I gotta question-
A OC RELATED QUESTION-!!!
I have seen too many of those darn honse Aus and it gave me a idea for a question-
If your Ocs were in a zombie style apocalypse!
Then- who out of “em would be a survivor or an infected-? And why-?
How well do they survive and do they group up with others to do so-?
I dunno why I thought this was a fun idea but-
lol-

Ultimate Retro CAR-15: 1989 Delta Force Edition (VIDEO)
youtube
A former Delta Force assaulter walks you through the awesomeness that was his CAR-15 back in the day, to include cardboard, a dive light, and bicycle innertubes.
Before he moved on to becoming the Vickers in Vickers Tactical, Larry Vickers was a career U.S. Army Special Forces guy who served with Delta Force throughout the 1980s. In the above, he shows off a recreation of his personal blaster from the period. The Colt Model 723 was basically a shortened M16A2 carbine that was more developed than the XM177E2 used by Green Berets in the Vietnam era.
His CAR-15 has plenty of things you just don’t see today outside of retro builds to include an upper with a non-detachable carrying handle and a tweaked two-position stock, and that’s just for starters.
As detailed by Vickers, he carried an Underwater Kinetics Super QXL dive light (insert giant sucking sound here as every airsofter and Delta operator fan rushes to search the web for one) that had been wrapped with black innertubes and hose-clamped to the handguard. Other mods include a jungle mag clamp set up with cardboard and 100 mile-an-hour tape and an AimPoint 2000— which the optics company says was discontinued in 1989, the same year Delta Force went into Panama.
“This was a great gun, great optic, a great piece of kit,” said Vickers. “Got me through harm’s way and got me home safely, so I am very partial to this setup.”

Announcements & Reminders
Review Friday’s online activity
Activity/Discussion
Close Reading Activity, Part Two (on Schoology, in groups) With the other members of your group, read through these quotes carefully, paying attention to how the sentences are constructed and the specific use of language. Talk about the quote in question before you write a response together. When you're done talking, please write up your response (one per group), post it, and we will talk about all of them.\
How does the author use language to get his or her point across? What is that point? Do you think that the author does a good job of it? Group 1: Madeline, Abby, Josiah, Justin (8:30) Tanner, Kayleigh, Jose, Brad, Colt, Steve (9:30) Damon Linker, “Liberals’ Astonishingly Radical Shift on Gender” (666) "That's because all societies — as collectivities of individuals sharing a common culture as well as common laws, rules, and norms (including linguistic rules and norms) — invariably constrain individuals more than they would be if they lived in absolute isolation from others. Any one of those limits on the individual will can feel as if it's an intolerable constraint, and the principle of individual freedom can always be invoked in order to combat it" (670). Group 2: Anton, Emma, Chrys, Dylan (8:30) Ben G, Ben H, Grace, Hailie, Jude, Carolina (9:30) Anne-Marie Slaughter, “Why Women Still Can’t Have It All” (673) "I am well aware that the majority of American women face problems far greater than any discussed in this article. I am writing for my demographic—highly educated, well-off women who are privileged enough to have choices in the first place. We may not have choices about whether to do paid work, as dual incomes have become indispensable. But we have choices about the type and tempo of the work we do. We are the women who could be leading, and who should be equally represented in the leadership ranks" (682). Group 3: Robbie, Francis, Tonio, Steven (8:30) Jacob, Camdon, Jaden, Shannon, Brady, Jessica (9:30) Richard Dorment, “Why Men Still Can’t Have It All” (694) "My wife makes more money than I do. We majored in the same thing at the same college at the same time, and when I chose to go into journalism, she chose to go to law school. She works longer hours, shoulders weightier responsibilities, and faces greater (or at least more reliable) prospects for long-term success, all of which are direct results of choices that we made in our early twenties. She does more of the heavy lifting with our young son than I do, but I do as much as I can. (Someone else watches him while we are at work.) I do a lot of cooking and cleaning around our house. So does she. I don't keep score (and she says she doesn't), and it's hard to imagine how our life would work if we weren't both giving every day our all" (699).
EXAMPLE "To them, payday lenders were predatory sharks, charging high interest rates on loans and exorbitant fees for cashed checks. The sooner they were snuffed out, the better...To me, payday lenders could solve important financial problems" (Vance 439) Vance uses "to them" and "to me" here to highlight a completely different way of viewing the world, which is super clever because he's not just saying, those morons are wrong but more, they don't have my life experience, so they just don't get where I'm coming from. This goes with his whole point, that elites don't understand where people like him are coming from, and he has a truly unique and enlightening perspective for the rest of us (rest of us morons, maybe??).

Thomas Greer (aka 'Dalton Fury') seen on the right. He also has a Knight's Armament RIS Forend from Delta M4A1 packages installed on his rifle.
Also interesting to note the rifles both operators have in this photo aren't the usual Colt Model 723's Delta was known for using, but instead are Olympic Arms CAR-AR Rifles that have been retrofitted for simunitions use (as indicated by the clear magazines and blue components). Delta likely only procured these for training use and were never intended for combat.
Above: Olympic Arms CAR-AR. Note the Rapidex rear sight windage knob, shorter barrel, and XM177-style faux moderator consistent with the rifles in the photo.
The polymer XM177-style buttstocks could also on occasion be seen on some of Delta's early M4A1 rifles, though I'm not sure why operators would make the choice to swap them out as the Colt N1 Fiberlite stocks were much higher quality, and the CAR-AR stocks were also only sized for commercial buffer tubes, meaning they would fit sloppy on the buffer tubes of M4A1's.
Above: Members of C-Squadron and their early M4A1 Carbines with custom Armalite Fiberglass FF Tube Handguards, c.1996-1998. The operator at left has an Olympic Arms CAR-AR Stock on his rifle, as indicated by the lack of two 'ribs' along the body of the tube.
As a final note, it appears both men are wearing the AWS Protective Vest (aka 'Direct Action Trauma Body Armor'), which while around in the late 90's, Delta did not adopt until at least 2000.
Between 1996-1999 the unit would have been using the Point Blank PBPV and leftover supplies of T.G. Faust NATO SF Body Armor from the 1980's.
This detail dates the photo OP posted to at least the early 2000's and not the mid-90's.
Above: Point Blank PBPV (left) and AWS Protective Vest (right). Almost completely identical at first glance. Small changes in the construction of the cummerbunds and the edges of the vests denote the difference. Source: crapshoot_surplus (Instagram)

NFL power rankings Week 9: Steelers climb, top 10 teams becoming clear
The NFL’s top teams keep winning, making the top of our power rankings easy to determine.
The NFL’s top contenders seem pretty clear at the halfway point of the season. The Rams, Patriots, Chiefs, and Saints have imposed their will on their opposition and are paving their paths toward the playoffs.
Those teams make up the top four of our Week 9 NFL power rankings with the Chargers placing fifth following their bye week. The 8-0 Rams just keep winning and though the Packers came close to beating them, Los Angeles kept their streak alive. Next up for the Rams will be the Saints. Will L.A. remain undefeated coming out of Week 9?
The Patriots are... the Patriots. An annual contender and always-dangerous team. The Chiefs have only lost to the Patriots and somehow look to be getting even better as the weeks pass. The Saints made beating the Vikings on the road look easy in the Minneapolis Miracle rematch on Sunday night.
On the rise
The Steelers moved up from eight to six after their third-straight win and fourth in the last five games. James Conner is looking like a more-than-capable replacement for Le’Veon Bell, who continues to sit at home and watch football on TV.
The Panthers are also proving they’re no fluke as they’ve lost only two games this season on the heels of an impressive year from both Cam Newton and Christian McCaffrey. The second-year running back has 723 yards from scrimmage as well as three touchdowns.
Also on the rise are the Bears who went from first to fourth and back to first in the NFC North in the last three weeks. The Eagles got a bit of a boost from their win over the lifeless Jaguars in London and elsewhere in the NFC East, Washington remains in the top 10 after another win. Their latest came over the bottom-feeder Giants, so while it’s a win, it wasn’t all that difficult to achieve.
We’d be remiss not to discuss the Texans who are very much on the rise after their fifth-straight win and a terrific game from Deshaun Watson who had a magical night against the Dolphins.
The Colts are also climbing the rankings, though much lower down the list. They went from 22nd to 17th following their third win a row. Those wins have come against the Jets, Bills, and Raiders. So let’s not get too excited just yet, but they do look much improved. Next up they have the Jaguars, Titans, and Dolphins, so there’s more opportunities ahead for them to impress against similar and lesser competition.
On the decline
The Ravens have lost in back-to-back weeks to top 10 teams. Their loss to the Saints was a close one but their loss in Carolina to the Panthers came with a 15-point margin of defeat.
The Vikings are also falling after their loss to the Saints. They’ve yet to have an impressive win as they’ve only beaten the 49ers, Eagles (by two), Cardinals, and Jets. Next up they have their division-rivals in three straight games: the Lions, then a bye week, followed by games against the Bears, and Packers.
The Packers took a two-spot dive this week after losing to the Rams. You can’t really fault a team for losing to the Rams, but the Packers (much like the Vikings) don’t have an impressive win as their victories came over the Bears (by one), the Bills, and the 49ers.
Somewhere in the middle
There might not be a weirder team than the 5-3 Bengals who look hot and cold in the same game quite frequently. The Bengals had a 27-6 lead over the Buccaneers on Sunday before Ryan Fitzpatrick entered the game and tied things up at 34-34. Cincinnati was lucky to come away with a win.
The Seahawks are climbing back into relevancy thanks to some highly efficient play from Russell Wilson. The Seattle quarterback had a perfect 158.3 passer rating in the Seahawks’ win over the Lions. Wilson joined his fellow NFC West quarterback Jared Goff as the two quarterback to finish a game with a perfect passer rating this season.
At the bottom
The Broncos lost to the Chiefs, but at least they were competitive and now they’re also done with the AFC’s best team for the rest of the year (unless Denver surprisingly makes the playoffs). The Falcons were on a bye, but got bumped up one spot due to other teams losing; the Cowboys were also on a bye and stayed at the same spot as they were in last week. The Jaguars lost in their home away from home (London) and look like they’re falling apart. The Jets, Buccaneers, Browns, Cardinals, Bills, Giants, 49ers, and Raiders round out the bottom eight.

Five things the Redskins can be thankful for this Thanksgiving
New Post has been published on https://www.articletec.com/five-things-the-redskins-can-be-thankful-for-this-thanksgiving/
Five things the Redskins can be thankful for this Thanksgiving
It’s a Thanksgiving tradition as old as television. No, not the NFL games themselves, but the yearly habit of asking football players what they’re up to this Turkey Day.
The Washington Redskins will be on a work trip in Dallas this year, so linebacker Mason Foster said he will share a meal with his family the day after — and they’ll “grade” each other on the quality of the dishes they’ll bring.
“I’ll do the stuffing and the ham … it’s hard to mess that up so I try stick with that,” Foster said. “I don’t want to ruin nobody’s Thanksgiving because of my cooking.”
When the Redskins finally do sit down at the dinner table and go around saying what they’re thankful for, here are five football reasons they can list.
Colt McCoy is the best kind of back-up you can have
A lot has been made of McCoy’s familiarity with Jay Gruden’s system in Washington. It’s true that very few second-stringers stay with a team for more than one two- or three-year contract at a time.
McCoy is also a top back-up by virtue of being neither inexperienced nor over the hill. Take the Cowboys — if they were in the Redskins‘ situation this week, former undrafted free agent Cooper Rush would have to make his first NFL start. The other traditional Thanksgiving team provides a perfect contrast. If something happened to Matthew Stafford, the Detroit Lions would turn to 36-year-old Matt Cassel.
No one else in the league wanted to sign Adrian Peterson
A future Hall of Fame running back had nobody knocking on his door simply because he was the ripe old age of 33 and had an unsteady 2017 campaign with two teams.
Peterson is seventh in the NFL in rushing yards (723) and on pace to hit the 1,000-yard mark. He’s now up to six rushing touchdowns, which matches or exceeds the totals of eight NFL teams. And he’s about to play in his home state of Texas, which is sure to provide even more motivation.
They enter Thursday with a healthy edge in NFC East
There are only four NFL teams undefeated in their division, and at 2-0, the Redskins are one of them. Last Sunday’s loss to Houston combined with Dallas’s latest win tightened things a bit, but Washington’s win in their Week 7 matchup with Dallas was crucial.
Think of the math like this: If Washington wins Thursday, its lead in the NFC East is up to two games on paper, but it would also secure the season sweep for Washington and guarantee an advantage in a tiebreaker, so Dallas would really need to outdo the Redskins by three games in the home stretch to pass them and steal the division.
Meanwhile, if the Cowboys win Thursday, they tie the division, but the series is split 1-1 and that first tiebreaker goes out the window.
They’re awfully familiar with Thanksgiving games
The Redskins are the first team outside the Cowboys and Lions to play on Thanksgiving in three straight years since the Chicago Bears did it in 1979, 1980 and 1981.
Every team has to play a Thursday game at some point or another, and the Redskins already visit AT&T Stadium to play Dallas once a year. But if anyone was ever prepared to play on Thanksgiving, it’s these Washington players and coaches who are familiar with both the process of a short week and the atmosphere they should expect.
“Dallas is a beautiful place, beautiful stadium, beautiful venue for a football game, but I think we have to handle the noise offensively without a doubt,” Gruden said. “The only guys that it might have a minor effect on (are) some of the rookies, but (you’re) talking about Daron Payne who played at Alabama, who played in plenty of big games on the road, so I think everybody will be fine.”
At least they’re not the Wizards
The season isn’t going exactly how the Redskins wrote it up. Alex Smith is gone. Several other skill players have been battered and sidelined for much of the year. Players complained about the home fans just 12 days ago.
No matter what happens Thursday, we aren’t hearing about players yelling “F— you” at Gruden, fighting in practice or criticizing Bruce Allen. The Redskins have as many wins through 10 games as the Wizards do through 17, and for football fans — maybe not basketball fans — that’s something to be thankful for.

AIM-1/DLR or PAQ-4C?
I personally do like the light and streamlined setup of the PAQ But the AIM-1/DLR is more solidly mounted and more interesting to look at.

Trying out different cable management on the 723
Not sure if the reference photo actually shows a velcro wrap like I used, it could be something else entirely.
Either way, this position is more comfortable to use instead of having both switches on one side of the grip since I can just rotate my thumb up and hit the laser switch.
