lucifer in love is such an overwhelming sight to everyone who knows him.

if the devildom offers any form of freedom, the celestial realm promotes suppression, ignoring one's feelings until they're forgotten or buried so well within them that even they can't access them. and so young angels learn to hide, follow and conform, until everyone is the same, until eternity flows through their fingers like sand falling from their hands.

fallen angels, though, they learn to succumb to emotions. the fallen angels had to start from the beginning, counsel their loved ones, pace themselves – ancient and wise – through experiencing anger, and lust, and grief for the first time. is was then that everyone started showing their differences, relishing in the freedom the devildom had to offer.

yet lucifer stayed the same. just as always, lucifer stayed the same for millenia.

it's terrifying, seeing how lucifer smiles at you specifically, a brother mentions, because they've never seen lucifer's eyes soften in their edges, and the apples of his cheeks turn the slightest bit pink before. it's a revolutionary sight, just like the way his eyes looked when he first stood up against his father, and you can hear the gratitude in his voice.

for lucifer, no realm could offer freedom. there was not a place on this planet or another where he could find peace. tormented by his father and bound by his prince, he could say that eternity felt like sand, in his mouth, in his joints, in his lungs. he never thought he would find freedom in a person, in his home, in the way your fingers play with the gray strands of his hair when he falls asleep on his paperwork.

you can't tell, another brother chimes in, but he wasn't always like that. maybe it's that you came at the right time, and maybe it's just that you came to the right demon. he used to not like company of any kind, the brother frowns, shivering at the thought.

the lucifer you know finds freedom in the way you say his name. if he could write a dictionary he would put the words love, freedom, and your name as synonyms, the definitions unclear, written in the sound waves of your laughter. it wouldn't be very practical for other readers, he thinks, but who cares about others when your eyes hold galaxies he's sure are inhabited. he can simply dive in, and find a planet where people can appreciate the art that is the crook of your neck, and how easily his head can rest on it.

a third brother reminds you of when you first met them, and how of course you'd know that the eldest wasn't always like this. it fills him with emotion, knowing that lucifer is capable of calming down a bit, and how he is now just like a chatacter in a show he watched a while ago.

an angel approaches you, smiling in the same way every angel smiles, humble and serene. he says it's overwhelming to see lucifer like this. it overwhelms him with a determination of sorts, overwhelms him with joy, brotherhood in a way so ancient you can only feel it through your veins. he then smiles in a way only he knows how to, human and raw, and he leaves, joining another conversation.

the corner of your eye catches a figure you know all too well, and when you turn to face him, his eyes are already fixated on you. soft, with a pink tint under them. you ask him if he's eaten and he exhales something affirmative, asking you the same question back. it's simple, and domestic, intimate in the way birds chirp in spring mornings and waves crash against anything that may stand in their way. your heart beats against your chest in the melody of your favourite love song, and you swear you could stare into his eyes until all that's left of you is taken by the wind.

lucifer in love is an overwhelming sight to everyone who knows him, but even so, you could probably never get enough, you think, as you take his hand and feel his warmth spread all over your body.

ALRIGHT IM FREE hehe i have soooo much to say about beast but i will restrain myself today.

okay. so the premise is simple, right? what if akutagawa joined the ada, and atsushi joined the pm instead? not an unheard of concept, parallel universes and role reversals have been done before. but the way that it parallels the original story of bsd i-

a quick recap: one of the first events in the story, and the major turning point for the rest of the novel, is when akutagawa meets dazai for the first time. instead of recruiting him like the original, he sees that he only kills out of revenge and decides against it, not without angering akutagawa in the process. and so, dazai decides to choose another as his new recruit, as well as taking gin. this of course changes everything, and leads, to the conflict of the story, etc. etc.

and i think this highlights his whole character: akutagawa is someone who inherently lacks purpose. he craves a reason to live so desperately that he would lose every ounce of humanity he has to cling to some semblance of it. in bsd, he lives to kill; in beast, he lives to find gin and kill the man who took her. he is a character whose emptiness all but defines him, who doesn't seem to even have morals or values of his own. so when we're in a universe where he doesn't join the port mafia, what changes? he isn't an attack dog anymore, but he seems to be just as violent as before. this time, his violence is wilder, untrained. he lashes out like a caged beast, without care for the destruction he causes. he craves revenge, craves freedom. he is a starving animal, who is surviving on blind rage alone.

in enters oda. oda, who takes him in like original dazai took in atsushi. oda who isn't the hand that pulls his leash, but the one that loosens the collar around his neck. with the ada, he is almost free (as free as someone like him ever could be, at least.) his time with the agency is a parallel to his time with the mafia, almost. it's like comparing a dog that has been nurtured into obedience, and a dog that has had obedience beaten in them. the wildness has been trained out of both, but one still fears the hand that feeds it.

but a animal will resort to instinct when under pressure, and akutagawa's instinct has always been to lash out. so, dazai is proved right with his initial assessment of him. it was blind rage that made him attack atsushi, not a desire to save his sister--gin herself points this out and it is why she doesn't go with him. that's his tragedy, his fatal flaw; violence might not be his mother tongue, but it is the language that comes most easily to him, and when backed into a corner it is what he resorts to.

but beast isn't his tragedy. he achieves a happy ending--as happy of an ending as any universe will grant him. he learns to use his ability for non-violent means, and he settles as a detective. his purpose is different, but it fills him nonetheless: reunite with his sister, and become human. until then, he will remain like his original counterpart: perpetually, irrevocably unsatisfied.

akutagawa is someone who inherently lacks purpose.

Two persons were killed and 50 others injured after 18 coaches of a train bound for Mumbai derailed in Jharkhand on Tuesday.

The Howrah-CSMT Express (train number 12810) derailed between Rajkharsawan and Badabambo stations at around 4 a.m., 80 km from Jamshedpur in the Chakradharpur railway division of Jharkhand.
