Instead of having meaningless conversations with others, I'd rather be in awkward silence with you.

being weird openly is the easiest way to find friends who match that weirdness
stop trying to be palatable, stop trying to be palatable, stop

if the pain isn't my fault then why do I feel guilty?
(society has led you to believe you are a burden for needing help)
I want to love my body but some days I hate it
(your body is trying its best to keep you going, but I understand why you feel that way)
I want to pause everything, I don't want to feel like this anymore
(me too. maybe we could just sit together for awhile?)

I've noticed this thing with autistic people where people never know where our attention is. If I'm looking directly at you, I probably didn't mean to!
I'm not staring at you, I just thought the spot on the wall next to you looked interesting or my neck happened to turn that way.
If I am looking to your side but my ear is facing you then I AM LISTENING AND PAYING ATTENTION! I'm angling my ear to process what you're saying better.
Many allistics seem to think eye contact is the sole or most important determining factor of attention in conversations. Not everyone can pay attention in the same ways, though!
This is why I'm so against the demand for eye contact by society and other people. You're asking me to sacrifice my ability to actually pay attention to you so you can have the outward aesthetic of feeling like someone is paying attention to you.
I mean this leads to a broader discussion on how neurotypical social norms are built around aesthetics of function over true function, but that's a topic for another day lol.

Thank you, thank you OP for making and sharing this! I am trying to give my tween students (many of whom are neurodiverse) some "how to interact online 101" guidance, and this is SO helpful for me! And this is totally SEXY and COOL and NOT WEIRD AT ALL.
One of the stranger things about training brand new nurses is explaining how to min max small talk. It feels very weird to coach people on how to chat.

I don't know where they were coming from, but I'd say it's different for me personally:
if a boss gets pissed at me, I can leave the job, I don't have to endure them; it's a shitty choice, but it's a choice I didn't have as a kid — if I left as a kid, the law enforcement would capture and bring me back.
if law enforcement gets pissed at me, they may beat me up or kill me or imprison me, but they cannot force me to express believable affection towards them.
same with cutting off contact with one's family legal adults are allowed to do that, there are procedures for that. it's a shitty option, but it's an option.
so I'm not saying they can't harm me — they can — I'm saying that I can't get in trouble with them. because the phrase "get in trouble with someone" is a concept that's way more horrifying and insidious than these instances.
you know what can happen to an adult that is equally as horrifying? at least where I live: in certain circumstances (medically determined), the status of a legal adult can be taken away from a person.
of course there are families who would protect one from that happening, who would use the comatose family member's hand to sign their documentation with witnesses present to confirm that it was signed by that person's hand (or body in general — it's legally fine to use mouth or foot if neccessary, as far as I know), so that there's no reason to take away the legal adult status.
but there are families who'd take any excuse to regain the control they lost when the person in question got their legal adult status. and that's horrifying.
as a legal adult, one can't really get in trouble with someone that way. one can just get harmed and die, and I (subjectively) think that it's way less scary than the perspective of getting in trouble with someone.
but then, different countries have different legal systems, and many adults in the world don't get the legal adult rights.
"you're an adult, you can't get in trouble with other adults" < person who has never interacted with a cop, psychiatrist or landlord once in their life

I love talking with people about one piece. Whether its an argument. Debate. Or a simple convo. It’s all the same and it gets me excited either way!
Dont worry about hurting my feelings and we’ll definitely piss eachother off LMFAOAOAO but its better that way. We can be honest about our ideals and theories as long as we dont hit below the belt and keep it about one piece.
Just dont take it too far and i’ll follow your lead!
One piece is the greatest story in fucking history. It deserves to be talked about dammit!
