your phone lights up for the seventeenth time in the last 5 minutes .

"just fuck off man" you whisper to nobody as your phone is flipped over with an exasperated sigh.

exactly 7 minutes ago you got an instagram tag from some random kids account . ignoring the name of the account your eyes flicker over the first few lines in the caption , you pick up on "chris sturniolo" and "girlfriend" along with "public kiss" . your eyebrows furrow and make a home over your now searching eyes and parted lips . your heart drops once again once you click on the actual post with shaking hands .

It's him . your chris . your chris with a girl who looks nothing like you , the exact opposite . She's beautiful . Her jawline is almost drawn in , a sharp angle which blends perfectly into his , as one of his hands holds the side of her waist the other placed on her throat . He's kissing her . your fucking chris . you leave absolutely no time to grieve . as fast as the tears pooled in your eyes you blinked them away . you tilted your head upwards and took a deep breath , exhaling a fast quick one, laughing in disbelief . you shook your head to yourself and straightened your back before sending the post to Chris himself .

That takes us to now . you sit with your knees to your chest, your deep breaths forcing your breasts to be slightly squashed under the pressure as your lungs rise and fall . "i dont wanna hear shit from you chris" you say before even getting phone to your ear

"y/n thats not me bro , i swear to god" he whines out slightly , desperation in his voice clear .

you let out a dry chuckle and roll your eyes , " fucking liar bro , I SAW THE FUCKING PHOTO CHRIS." you exhale a shaky breath and wait for his response .

your left with only silence , hearing him breathe and the distant faint bass in the background .

"not ready my fucking ass , seven months chris . seven months i have wasted , i can't believe you . seven fucking months i have waited for you . seven months i have spent falling in love with you , while you were fucking-" you cut your self off , realising you have absolutley no idea what he has been doing . your bottom lip quivers slightly before you purse them together , biting down hard enough to draw blood .

"im sorry" after a few seconds of silence he finally replies . his voice slightly gruff and hourse .

"fuck you" you say before ending the call and trowing in to the other side of the sofa . it slides under a pillow slightly .

the moment your phone isn't in view . the knot in your chest finally snaps , you feel your heart finally snap and the remaining hope for him go with it .Your chest shakes in the same motion as you sob . fingers that were harshly digging through layers of sweaty skin in your palm make their way to your hair , pulling so hard it could snap . The nausea comes back , turning your stomach like the seasons over a too familiar seven months .

it's only when you hear the front door open do you get up from your pit in the sofa curled up into yourself . you turn your body still sat, feeling confusion and fear in equal parts . your heart rapidly starts beating, enough to snap a rib . you try and take a breath as you stare at the door frame , expecting the worse , said breath gets caught as you hear soft steps approaching you , your eyes widen as you search around your now messy living room . searching for a weapon, or your phone , your eyes scan the room rapidly , grabbing a candle that was sitting on a coffee stained table .

"y/n?" you hear his voice before you see him . His hair is wet , along with his shoulders and upper arms , turning his light grey sweatshirt into a messily patterned sight . his eyes soften as he sees you . searching your expression . Then his eyes flicker to the candle raised in the air , furrowing his wet eyebrows , tilting his head in confusion before curling his lips into a shy smirk.

"a candle ? really?" he says, widening his smirk and taking a step towards you .

he stops in his tracks as you take a step back from him , lowering the candle and throwing it softly on the couch .

"i need you to hear me out , y/n i-"

"Why are u here" you say blankly . " i'm pretty sure i was clear that i was done with you"

his eyebrows twitch at your words , hurt and sadness very evident on his face . his shoulders relax and head tilts slightly .

"I told you it wasnt me . I meant it . I meant everything I said . everything i have done and said . I meant it ."

your eyes search for a lie in his eyes . you find none. What you do find is guilt .

"meant what chris ? what have I meant to you . a fuck buddy? a friend? a fan? please tell me because i dont fucking understand !" your voice which was once cautious and small slowly grows louder , stepping closer to him yelling . "please fucking tell me what it means . who the fuck am i to you !"

his face which was once soft and understanding turned and twisted into a gruesome one . His soft kind features turning sharp like his jawline , which flashes as he turns away from you .

The warm lighting in the room grows colder . The cold aching in your fingertips soothes the burning in your cheeks as you run your hands over your face in exhaustion . as your face is covered by your hands you miss as he swings his body towards you and steps just inches away from you . grabbing your face in his hands and forcing you to look up at him . your eyes scan his eyes franticly , looking between his unreadable one . it's there u see him soften and his eye twitch before taking a deep breath , anxiety poisons the air between you as he moves the hair from your face with his hands.

"look, y/n , you are what i want , i know that , i've always knew that .im just scared ."

it feels as if with just his words , he plunged his hand into your chest. through your cracked and broken rib cage , destroyed by months of deep breaths , your lungs abusing their cage. it was like he managed to find the exact places he broke just hours ago, and with a few words and found his way back home . all he had to do was throw a few words in your face and he stitched up the body of the girl he managed to destroy .

his hands trailed down your arms until they held your wrists . soft manacles seem to click around the space he holds.

"i want you chris , nobody else,, I want you to want me." you say looking him in his eyes , your voice soft and quiet

he trails one finger up your arm , looking at the goosebumps that trail his touch like a shadow until he rests his hand softly around the side of your neck . with this he puts a hand on the crook of your back and inches closer.

his wet hair drips on you forehead as he kisses you . his hands slowly moving up and down your body soothing your aches before they settle on your face , holding you as he deepens the intimacy . your hands ghost over his hands and rest on top of them .

calling him a parasite would be wrong, especially when the host welcomes the symbiosis .

Adam makes jokes and Kenny laughs. Adam feels like he’ll never feel sad again. Kenny keeps holding his hand, only letting go when a zoo keeper allows him to hold a koala. He watches Kenny’s face smoothe out; happiness winning over every little ache or pain he must be feeling. Kenny grins brighter through the lens of Adam’s phone camera and he tucks it into the top pocket of his jacket, holding Kenny; bright and carefree and happy in his heart. 

It’s a small zoo tucked down a sidestreet in the middle of nowhere. Adam really has no idea how Kenny found it, yet alone purchased tickets which at least look somewhat real when Kenny thrusts them into the middle of Adam’s sleep-blurred eyeline. “Cmon Adam lets go!” Excitement borders his voice perfectly, tugging on his smile until it lays just under his eyes making them shine under the rising sun. Adam presses his face deeper into his pillows, squinting an eye open when Kenny presses the tickets into the curve of his nose. “Cmonnnnn!” Kenny whines, sounding so much like a child Adam’s half expecting him to tug at his wrist. 

“Five more minutes, it ain’t even open yet Kenny” Adam mumbles against the soft pillowcases, squirming deeper under the blankets. He keeps his eyes half-lidded, watching Kenny as he pouts, picking at the embroidered roses on Adam’s old blanket. “Fine.” He rolls over, staring up at his boyfriend. It’s the first time Adam has noticed that Kenny’s half dressed; a jacket hanging off his shoulders and one sock. He chuckles, using his feet to kick the blankets away. 

He barely has time to shower or get morning coffee before Kenny whisks him out the door, hand resting on the small of his back. Adam blinks through half-damp curls as Kenny rambles through the animals they have, hands flailing in front of him. There’s so much joy flooding his voice that it sucks the last wisps of tiredness from the marrow of Adam's bones. When Kenny smiles, bouncing on his toes in line, Adam’s sure he’s never going to feel tiredness again. The man in the ticket booth scans their tickets, smiling politely when Adam nods and trails behind Kenny, pushing air-dried curls out his face. 

“Okay so they have penguins  that way-” Kenny has the zoo map practically plastered to his face, using his fingers to dictate what he’s talking about. Adam lingers behind, trying to read the small print over Kenny’s shoulder without his glasses. He feels a tap at his hand and maybe it's a reflex, his fingers close around Kenny’s. “Or…”  He’s holding the map at arms length now, digging his nails into the thin paper as he shifts his other hand until his palm presses against Adam’s. Adam feels like he could soar. 

“Or?” He prompts, pretending that he isn’t staring at Kenny’s hand against hsi, knuckles looped together like Kenny’s trying to hold Adam close. Like Adam is something that Kenny wants to keep secure. 

“We’ll just go that way.” Kenny folds the map the best he can. It ends up becoming a half-folded half-crumpled; lump of paper that Kenny manages to stuff in the back pocket of his shorts. They meander through the people-lined pathways, stopping to gaze into paddocks and enclosures, they run their fingers across the backs of string ways and feed elephants.

They're in the butterfly house when Adam gets chosen. A Monarch butterfly settles on the tip of his nose; wings twitching slowly in the warm air. He stares at it, mouth turned into a surprised smile and Adam almost has to make sure that he’s breathing. Kenny twists slowly at his side, blue eyes wide. “It chose you..” He whispers and Adam, returned to a stunned silence, taps once at his wrist. The butterfly flutters off moments later and Adam turns his green eyes upward towards the canopy of trees and flowers. 

“Goodbye lil friend.” He whispers, cheeks flushing an aggressive red when Kenny brushes his lips against his stubble covered cheek. “We should uh..” He whispers, trying to keep his heart trapped in the cage of his ribs when all it wants to do is flutter away, higher than the tops of the green trees and into space. Adam’s sure his heart could kiss the stars with how light Kenny makes it feel. 

Cool spring air hits their clammy faces and Adam stares out over the horizon, eyes picking up the perfect mixture of reds and yellows from the sunset. Kenny lays his head on his shoulder, swinging their joined hands slightly. “We should go to the gift shop. Then home.” 

Home. The two of them. Kenny thinks he’s home. 

“Home. Yeah.” Adam whispers, unable to stop the smile that tugs at his lips. It creases the corner of his eyes and Kenny tugs at his hand. They wander together, Kenny stopping to watch a snake crawl back into the bushes and a tiger pace by the entrance to its home; the heavy metallic smell of blood in the air.  Adam buys cotton candy from a small vendor by the aquarium, easily swayed by the turtle shaped container and Kenny rocking on his feet at his side. Adam would buy the entire zoo if Kenny looked at him with those soft eyes again. He would buy Kenny the world for the carefree glow radiating off his face. 

They share cotton candy like children; licking the pink floss off their lips, letting the sugar dilate their pupils until the artificial lights of the gift store stab at their eyes, making them chuckle. Adam strolls through the aisles, nose wrinkling at the prices. Everything feels too expensive for what it was, what it is. There’s a wall of soft toys and he spots Kenny easily out of the mass of children, begging and screaming at their parents. He looks so different in his faded shorts and crumpled shirt, mismatched hair dragged back into a fraying half-ponytail. The sunset gathers on the bridge of his shoulders and Adam swears he spots a halo hanging around the crown of Kenny’s head; he looks glorious, cherubin and angelic. 

“Adam look!” Kenny’s voice, soft and kind, snaps Adam out of his thoughts. He blinks a few times, head tilting as Kenny pushes something into the middle of his chest. “He looks like Hunter Horse Hemsley. You should have him” Adam’s confused at first, why is Kenny bringing up his dead horse? There's the ever so familiar prickle of pain that creeps under his eyes. He looks down, cups Kenny’s wrist and sighs. 

“He does..” He whispers, cupping the stuffed horse between his hands. He stares at it and it stares back. “I can’t, kenny they're so expensive-” He shakes his head, slow and sad and Kenny gets a look on his face. 

“But he’ll be all alone.” He whispers, nodding over to the empty place on the shelf. Adam follows his eyeline, gripping the stuffed horse closer. “Will it make your heart hurt less?” 

Adam blinks, uses his knuckles to scrub the feeling of tears away from his eyes. It’s been a great day. Adam’s not going to ruin it now with childish tears brought on by mourning and tiredness. Kenny’s head is tilted to the side and Adam glances between him and the horse. He runs his fingers across its brown mane, strokes a finger down the white stripe on its nose. 

He stares at Kenny, searching his eyes. “Yes.” 

Kenny buys Adam the horse. They go home and Adam smiles, settling the horse snugly in between his pillows. Kenny smiles at him, reaching over the bed to kiss at his temple. 

The smile that Kenny gives him is better than any feeling in the world. He takes his hand. 

Kenny doesn’t pull away. Even as he buries himself deeply into Adam. He links their fingers and presses soothing kisses across his bottom lip. 

Adam feels full. Adam feels happy.

first impression - i’m gonna be so completely honest that was so long ago i can barely remember. i don’t think i ever had beef with him like scara but i don’t think i liked him? like neutral i guess. it was cool to have the whole clone/twin/imposter whatever plotline so that adds some bonus points

impression now - i am. so normal (<- lying). this is mostly thanks to luna’s interpretation of him, but god he’s so interesting!!! guy who was supposed to be a whole other guy and feels the need to live up to that and is jealous of what the other guy has!!!! so much angst potential but also so much potential for someone (jietang) to swoop in and show him that he doesn’t have to be what he was told to be!! love the trans coding from that as well hehe. the whole thing with albedo and rhindottir and all her creations is so super interesting anyway.

favorite moment - that sickass thing he did with the ice crystals. like when he finally attacks traveler and their friends??? like i would be dead because that is the coolest attack ever. and YES i know that was whopperflower-bedo (totally different imposter) but it was cool and i think about it a lot. also the end of the quest where he’s musing as he walks thru the snow?????? hell yeah.

ideas for a story - well, i actually have a little something in the works for him and jietang, but here’s some other thoughts ive had about them <3

jietang showing aurelius around liyue and chenyu vale. aurelius gets to see goats for the first time and is enamored by their fluffiness. they climb a mountain and stargaze. just cute couple things.

aurelius snuggling jietang to keep him warm, and jietang complaining about not being able to hold aurelius’ hand outside of dragonspine because aurelius isn’t used to the warm climates of anywhere outside of dragonspine.

jietang bringing aurelius to the windblume festival. at this point aurelius has completely dropped trying to be albedo, and looks different enough to walk around with his boyfriend without suspicion. imagining venti Knowing but he’s happy to see aurelius being happy so he keeps his mouth shut.

You know what i get it yeah when it comes to members in groups that get super popular. It basically happens in every single group, it’s almost unavoidable (and don’t come at me saying any insert group bc you know that’s a lie). I know when it can get super biased towards one member and a company pushes them to the front and center too much it can cause not just a rift between fans but also within members themselves. Like obviously, I can totally see why a company would want to capitalize on a member’s fame because logically it makes the most sense. More exposure to them means more money, but if there’s anything i learned about trickle down economics (is that it’s a fucking joke) is that this kinda thing doesn’t work in the long term for the benefit of an entire group. This kind of dynamic has no right way to go about it, but it needs the cooperation of the whole group for it to work. Popular members NEED to also advocate for their peers and set it straight. The times i see this happen in real life I find generally really benefits the whole group. They gain more respect from their fans and their other members get appreciation. But anyways that’s just a small little anecdote. Not super well thought out, but there’s probably more i could say but yeah.

It had been three standard glalactic solar cycles since the reptilians pirates attacked the Woolly Bison’s ship. And the cargo drones were still reorganizing the cargo hold. But the good news was we were about three galactic standard weeks early because of a new warp station, and this meant we could rest for awhile on the supply station.

Hequ’lutik: Cmon Little Being, in. No, not on top, in. Yes, in. No, no more embraces. Just get in the cage. Please? Thank you

Hequ’lutik was busy trying to get Little Being onto their transport cage, and when Little Being finally understood and had hopped in. Kafr’itik, entered Little Beings chamber.

Kafr’itik: Hequ’lutik, you were supposed to meet me at the air lock thirty minutes ago. Why haven’t you gotten moving?

Hequ’lutik: Don’t blame me! I was just having trouble commanding Little Being, to get in the transport.

Kafr’itik: well they are in it now so let’s go! The room is waiting, and I’m sure that Little Being would love some change of scenery.

Kafr’itik dragged Hequ’lutik through the halls, as the cage driving droid followed closely behind. They stopped in the airlock for the hatch to open, before running out into the busy markets. Passerby’s would often stop dead in their tracks, simply frozen as they observed the adorable Little Being in the cage.

Hequ’lutik: Uhh, Kafr’itik. I think we should drop Little Being at a kenal, so that they don’t have to worry about so many other creatures poking and prodding at him.

Kafr’itik took a moment to observe the growing crowd, be for gesturing I’m agreement.

Kafr’itik: so where should we leave them?

Hequ’lutik: how about the Orgressie kenal, they are the best trainer species ever. I’m sure they’ll be able to teach Little Being some readable commands.

Kafr’itik: sounds good, I’ll just input that into the droid and off it goes

The droid driver sped off down a separate walkway, before vanishing in the crowds. Transporting an adorable package to the new place.

A droid came into the shop, with a cage containing a Woolly Bison couples pet. They had named it Small Twee, which translates to roughly ‘Little Being’ in a cute sense.

Gorgash: Hello there, is this the drop of from Hequ’lutik and Kafr’itik?

Droid cage driver: Afermative, they have been name Little Being. They require a ration meal consisting of one part protein, one part H2O, and half assorted plant matter. Preferably leafy varieties. Is That confirmed?

Gorgash: Yeah Yeah, what threat class is it?

Droid: to opposing life or passive life

Gorgash: Opposing... why’s that?

Droid: Little Being has a special hunting and self defence strategy, it is almost identical to its natural display of endearment. This is not a threat, it is a conveying of information.

Gorgash: just tell me how dangerous they are you platinum plate with sensors!

Droid: 100% danger to opposing life forms

Gorgash: Wait Sorry What?

Droid: 100% danger to opposing life forms, if that confirmed?

Gorgash sputtered for a moment before they regained cognition. This creature named small and cute by galactic standards had a 100% danger to opposing life forms, what was he going to do with it!

Gorgash: c-confirmed, and to passive life?

Droid: a morale boost of 80%

Gorgash: O-ok, you can leave now. Have a good day.

The droid beeped, before gently lowering the cage to the floor. As it it sped off through the entrance, Gorgash slipped out from behind the counter to get a better look at little being. As to its name, it was quite small. And just so, so, SO ADORABLE! Gorgash couldn’t believe his eyes. How in the singularity could something so statistically dangerous, be so adorable.

Gorgash: oh my seven stars, you really live up to your name don’t you. Well ok, cmon out. Let mister Gorgash get a proper look at you.

Little being looked confused, before slowly walking towards Gorgash through the open cage door. They were so, cute to look at. They wore colourful protective fabrics that it seems to have produced, primitive but effective. They had a small floof of golden fur on the top of its head that swayed this way and that, fluttering delicately as little being moved. Then the little being out stretched its upper appendages. It was ask for an embrace, so cute.

Gorgash rushes over to give Little Being an embrace, well after much could have happened he embraced Little Being before remembering what the droid said. Its display of endearment, was identical to its hunting strategy. Gorgash jumped away faster then he thought possible, relieved that it was a show of endearment rather then the hunting strategy this time.

Gorgash: ok little being, I think you are safe enough for me to let you live with the big pets. Alright, follow me.

Gorgash tapped his lower appendage, Little Being seemed to understand imeadiatly and began following closely behind. So it knew precusion commands, I wonder what else.

I hate this, I should have snapped the kenaler’s neck when I had the chance. Dammit, now where was he taking me? Little Being followed closely behind Gorgash, before they were let out into a large playing field. With other pet like organisms. So he was deemed safe enough to play with the bigger pets, how insulting.

Gorgash watched hesitantly, as he closed the gate behind Little Being as they entered the play area. He watch as the other pet creatures approached Little Being, wait had Little Being been fed recently. Oh dear, what if he had just sentenced all the other pets to death. Gorgash watched with baited breath, until Little Being began playing with the other organisms. Well, played is a bit exaggerated. They didn’t seem to like being in the kenal at all, well then that’s fine. They don’t seem motivated to hurt anyone, and no one wants to hurt the adorable pet that just joined them. Little Being sat at the edge of the play area, laying against the wall and sleeping. Good, let them rest.
