It just occurred to me, “ghost crew as family” isn’t so much a label or a thought as something that’s a little more than just put in big, bright letters.

So if we viewers can see it, why can’t those characters too?

Sure, people like Thrawn and other Imperials know they care about each other, but I don’t know if they could have that whole “family” idea set up like we have their family tree.

So now I want to see Vader in shock, chasing the family, and having flashes of “oh look, a Jedi daddy and his Jedi baby, and an overly naughty big sister, I like those explosions who she cause with the droid. Wait, they have Ahsoka and Rex too? They’re not their family, they’re mine!” and panicking because he’s realizing that he still loves his family even if it’s with the sadness.
