you also happen to be the mechanic elio calls on when their ship needs repairs. it’s all completely secret. they call you in, you come on board, fix their shit, they pay you nicely, and then you leave.

you know them all well enough by now.

you’ve got elio who, when you come on board, says, “oh, by the way, watch the stairs on your way down.” (and surely enough you end up toppling down because there’s a loose step and you bruise your knee) (thanks for the warning). sometimes, you’re convinced he breaks their mangy old coffee machine just so you can visit again.

kafka loves to mess with you, but she means well. she enjoys a good chat, and sometimes when she’s not busy, she’ll follow you down to the engine and bring coffee. she drinks it black. gross.

she’ll ask about you, what you’ve been up to, how you’re feeling, whatever whatever. calls you beautiful, too. you guys probably kissed once. it’s sort of complicated.

blade is unfortunately your favourite. you love giving him giant hugs when you cross paths on the ship, and sometimes it’s like a reward when he returns the favour. at first you thought he was some big brooding hulk of a man, and then you learned he’s actually just some dude with really big arms. you also learn he owns bunny slippers and he likes pancakes, as weird as that is.

silver wolf cooks them best. you don’t really speak to her; she’s way too absorbed in her phone, but she thinks you’re cool. sometimes asks you questions about her PC or phone hardware and stuff, to which you reply, “i’m not tech support, weirdo.” she knows that, but your reactions are always fun. if kafka’s not around, she’ll show you the clothes she’s planning to buy online.

so you’re a common occurrence on the shuttle, sure. imagine your damn surprise when you stomp on board in the morning and when kafka greets you over her coffee, you accidentally shoulder check some random skinny dude (that’s not elio, because elio wouldn’t stand in the way at all) when you open the door.

you don’t pay it mind.

rather, you barely even notice and stalk over to the stupid machine while elio waves you a good morning. as you’re working, kafka leans on the bench next to you and offers you some of her coffee. it’s gross, but it keeps you awake enough to finish the job.

she’s chatting about whatever again until she falls comfortably silent.

“so, uh…” the machine buzzes to life as you plug it back into the wall. “what’s with angel face?”

she hums. “sunday.” she’s watching him now. silver wolf is showing him something on her phone, and he looks hilariously confused. “poor bird’s lost. flew too close to the sun.”

she takes her mug back from her hands. “why? like him?”

you hum lowly. when you turn and lock eyes with him, sunday quickly looks back down at silver wolf’s phone.

“handsome.” you weigh your options. “i think we’ll get along just fine.”

you were both doomed from the start, you and sunday. the pining was so obvious. you both practically chased each other around and then played it off as a coincidence when you bumped into to each other.

blade took it no mind, silver wolf gagged every time you two interacted. elio thought it was sweet, actually (he’s not surprised at how you two have developed). kafka plays wingwoman, because of course she does. she won’t voice it, but she thinks you both deserve to feel love again.

when shauna gets jealous, she gets instantly defensive, acting without thinking first. she’ll prolly stand in the way of whoever's flirting with you and tell them to get the fuck away, as if everyone in the world knew you that the two of you were dating. she's fr not afraid of making a scene, since she's used to making it everyone’s problem whenever she's angry.

i can also see her frequently getting jealous of other people you talk to just because she’s insecure. she’ll probably get upset and question you a lot, so u’d have to give her lots of reassurance to make her feel better.

when simping, she stares at you a lot—whether it is with longing eyes or with in-love eyes, you’ll frequently notice her big brown eyes gazing deeply at you. she writes you tons of love notes and writes about you on her journal—she also has an entire journal dedicated to you, where she makes collages with pictures of you and other things she likes that remind her of you. she has lots of pictures of the two of you on her wall. she also cooks for you a lot.

shauna has a complex way of dealing with her emotions, so i guess it really depends on what she's angry about. usually tho, she tends to bottle up her feelings, getting angrier and angrier until she bursts—and when she bursts, she bursts. the moment shauna reaches her limit, she'll raise her voice at you and say anything she thinks will hurt you, the more it hurts you the better. It isn't until one of you leaves the room that she instantly cools down and regrets it. she'll then proceed to look like this emoji “🥺” and overthink the whole interaction until she finally gets the courage to apologize to u.

𝗝𝗔𝗖𝗞𝗜𝗘 𝗧𝗔𝗬𝗟𝗢𝗥

when jackie gets jealous, she doesn't say it directly, but she does everything she can to get your attention—mostly in negative ways tbh. she would never cheat on you, but i can see her using other people to make you feel jealous or insecure so that you go chase after her. for example, if someone's clearly flirting with her, she won't back away or anything, she'll slightly lead them on until you notice that someone else is giving her attention and u go do something about it.

when simping, she's all giggly and flirty. she twirls her hair and bites her lip with a smile while looking at you. she also does little things to annoy you but in a playful/flirty way, like grabbing the tv remote, changing the movie and being like “omg, were you watching that? hehe 😳🤭”

when angry, she goes away dramatically but expects you to go after her. for example, if she's angry because you fucked up in some type of way, she'd avoid you but expect you to go chase her—and the moment u apologize, she'd immediately forgive you and be like 🥺😔 i missed u 😊

if she doesn’t do that, then she'll straight up tell you everything she feels, but won't insult you at all. even if she's mad at something you did, she’ll look more indignated and disappointed rather than resentful or angry. after dropping the weight off her shoulders, if you don't say sorry right away, she'll then avoid you until you genuinely apologize to her and cuddle her or sum.

when nat gets jealous, she gets visibly angry and possessive. if someone's flirting with you, she'll wrap her arm around your shoulders and say something like "they're taken, you can leave now." if the person doesn’t listen tho, she’ll tell them to fuck off and won’t leave your side for the entire day.

when simping, she's very cute but subtle. she isn’t the best at showering you with gifts and affection, but she'll do little gestures to make you happy, like taking you out to eat, making you playlists, driving you around the city at night, or sitting at the top of her van to smoke together. you'll also notice that she wants to be with you all the time, even if you're just sitting around doing nothing.

when she’s angry, she'll get visibly angry but try to contain herself so that she doesn't hurt you. an angry 'fuck you' might come out of her mouth, but that's the worst she'll say before she walks away to cool down. she'll always apologize for whatever she said to you during the argument after y'all talk about it tho, even if it wasn't that bad.

when lottie gets jealous, she gets annoyed and protective. if someone's flirting with you, she'll stand in the way and softly push you back with one of her arms in a protective manner while she tells the person to go away. she wouldn’t be straight up mean or impulsively aggressive though, she'd just be serious & confident abt it. if the person doesn't listen though, she’ll get annoyed and say something like, “i said they’re with me, are you deaf?”

when simping, lottie is the biggest spoiler ever. she'll put you on the highest pedestal and do everything for you. she'll always bring you up as a topic of conversation when talking to anyone else. whatever you want or like she’ll get it for you, no matter how hard it is. she'll also give you lots of physical affection, specially cuddles and soft caresses—like massaging your scalp or running her hand through your back while you lay down on her chest.

lottie has good control over her emotions, so usually when she gets angry, she avoids you until her anger cools down and she's ready to talk—the reason being that she doesn't wanna burst out and hurt you. she'll then either talk to you or wait for you to reach out to her.

A boy falls asleep on the stone ground of a bunker he found, piled up everything he had to keep the door shut.

He wakes up with something soft underneath him, it's not cold, he can feel the sun on his skin. He sits up quickly – too quickly, his vision goes black for a moment as he's trying to figure out where he is.

"–lo? Kid?" A voice fades in. A voice.

He spins around, only to see one of the infected standing over him, talking to him (since when did they talk? The kid didn't want to know.)

Fear bubbles and claws at his chest like a caged beast begging to be relased, he tries to tame it, reaching for his gun.

It's not there, and the beast breaks out of its cage. He scrambles back, not a sound leaving his mouth as he stares at it. The infected doesn't chase him, it tilts it's head like a curious thing. It had red hair – the boy might think it was beautiful, had it not been for what it was attached to.

There's a hand on its shoulder, it looks behind, and nods, it steps back... since when do the zombies do that?

Another steps up, hair similar to the stripped barks of the trees he'd cut down for firewood, a blonde that wasn't as bright as the kid thought it would be, but definitely blonde. This person — it's a person, the boy notes— had wings, nothing big, the wings reaches the person's elbows at most.

"Hey, are you alright?" The person – a man, the boy thinks – asks carefully. The kid takes a moment and nods. The man knows it's a lie, but doesn't mention it. He holds out a hand for the kid, and the kid takes it with heavy hesitation, like a physical weight on his body.

"Names Grian." The man —Grian— says carefully, as if speaking to a wounded animal. The kid might as well be. "And you?"

The kid doesn't answer for a moment. A name? What was his? He supposed it didn't matter. So he named himself after the first thing that came to mind. The FN SCAR, a beige and black gun he'd looted off some dead survivor. It kept him safe.

When he speaks, his voice his hoarse from disuse, and it hurts, a small bit. "... Scar."

Please why is it raining so much. Anyway this weather inspired me to write ✍️. At 2 in the morning. Why are we up guys? Lets get our beauty sleep. (I already know all of you are fine as hell) okay i know yall like idc lemme read. And why does he look so damn good in that picture?

It was darker than usual outside and even darker in crocodile’s office. So that caused him to work slower than he usually does. This is when you decided to go bother him cause why not?

It was storming outside and it was really loud snd plus you were bored so.

While you were bothering him the power went out. So you were happy that he gets to stop work early. You guys will do a number of things now and only because you dragged him into it.

You managed watched 1 full and a half of a movie on your laptop before it died. You and crocodile cuddled together and he caressed your arms keeping you warm as you watched the movie.

After it died, you guys opened the balcony door in your bedroom and looked out of there. It was cool and pouring harshly. You dared each-other to go out there. And you both ended up stepping out. He stepped out enough to not get drenched. But you however had to change clothes.

After putting on one of crocodile’s shirts..you two decided you were hungry. It wasn’t completely dark because you had windows in the kitchen. So you decided to bake cookies together. From scratch or pre-made , thats for you to decide.

After eating you guys would play hide and seek. Well— actually its one sided. You purposely made him chase you around the spacious house. Since he was in a good mood, when he found you he tickled you and threw you over his shoulder. (Omg im picturing him tickling with his rings on 😭)

He carried you back to the room and you two made a little fort on the bed (your idea cause mr crocodile would NOTTT) you two cuddled in there.. (i think he can fit in there) thats when you fell asleep in his arms as you guys talked about random things.

His concern was that it would get around to Sarah's mother and it would cause issues in the already lacking custody and he didn't want to jeopardize his relationship with his daughter or his secret relationship with me.

He's apologized nearly a million times, worrying that I'm starting to feel like a secret and as if I'm disappointed but what he doesn't know is that I would do anything, go through anything, to be with him, laying her, beside him in bed.

I would be a secret forever if it meant I could share some of my life with him.

"Nah, girl sleeps like a log most nights." He whispers against my forehead, peppering small kisses to my skin and I sigh in relief, raising a hand to my cheek, feeling my flushed skin.

"Fuck." I mutter with a gentle laugh, still soaking in the post orgasm haze while he does the same, chest rising and falling in slow, steady breaths, the opposite of how he was just twenty minutes ago.

"Good, I like you always chasing after me." I whisper teasingly, going to move but I feel my calves cramping up, forcing a groan from me. "I'm cramping up from being on top of you." I move to massage my thighs but he bats me away, digging his thumbs into my muscles with a playful grin.

"Oh god, should I apologize?" He asks with a smirk, eyes softening as I let out a relieved moan, loving the way his fingers just know where to press to heal my pain. "You like that?" He asks against the shell of my ear, accent only deepening and thickening as I groan, gripping onto his shoulder. "How does that feel?"

"Hmm, good." I gasp. "Don't start this again-"

"Start what- I'm being nothing but a southern gentleman." He teases, hand trailing up to the side of my thigh to my bare hip, his eyes shining with nothing but mischief as he gives me a sweet look.

"Mhm, sure." I giggle, not believing for a second that he wouldn't pull me on top of him if I gave him the go ahead and I watch as his lip juts out in a pitiful pout. "Stop pouting." I pat his cheek with a giggle, leaning towards him to press my lips to his, kissing away his dramatic frown.

3. I can actually reveal who Donnie’s alien friend is! It’s Jhanna!! If you’ve read the mirage comics or have watched the 2003 show, you know who she is… I absolutely loved her character and wish she appeared more, so I had to add her to this AU. you heaved a sigh, listening your husband, the almighty byakuya togami, insulting one of his new servants for *accidentally* spilling some champagne on his top. you were just waiting for togami to finish his whole dramatic scene and tried not to think about the havoc going on right next to you. at least he wasn't yelling at the servant.

well since you've heard byakuya throw spiteful comments at servants several times, you knew how long this would go on for. your mind was protesting you tell togami to stop being such a bratty bitch despite already knowing the result you'll receive. "s/o. this is my business, stay out of it,". you've heard it thousands of times, and you don't want to hear it ever again.

you were zoned out until you heard those words. "you know what? you're fired, get out of my face you plebian," you turned to look to your side, only to see byakuya shooing the servant away. it looked like she was crying, too.

even though this was normal on his part, it definitely wasn't anything good on yours. how heartless of him to just send someone away for an accident and start casually sipping your coffee, right next to your partner too.

"hey dude, that wasn't cool. she was apologizing, you didn't HAVE to fire her... plus you could just wash the champagne out," you said, in your calmest demeanour. "she deserved it. what am i even paying her for if she's just going to ruin my belongings," wow. way to go. "just because you think she and almost everyone are under you doesn't mean you can treat them like trash!" byakuya set his coffee down and turned to you, giving you that all-so familiar leave-me-alone face. "if you want to side with her, how about you go chase after her and go apologize for your husband's behavior since he doesn't want to,"

"well maybe i will- and leave your hellhole of a mansion!" you got up and stormed away to your room. byakuya just shrugged and continued with his extra black and bitter coffee, you'd get over it and wear yourself out eventually.

after locking the door, you flopped onto your queen-sized bed and buried your face into the fluffy pillow, unable to tell if you wanted scream, cry or both. well, your hunger kept you distracted from your emotions... and your emotions kept you distracted from your hunger. you were tempted to grab something to eat, but you didn't want to see your husband's face right now.

you woke up to the sound of banging on your door. this... wasn't your room, were you even in byakuya's mansion anymore? it wouldn't be possible that he'd drugged you since you never ate or drank anything nor would it be possible that he or his workers carried you elsewhere as you were a light sleeper.

your thoughts were interrupted by screaming and crying. there was a painful silence before you heard something being thrown across the room and a cry before everything turned silent again.

scanning your surrondings, you immediately realize this was your old room when your eyes met a picture of you, your mom and your dad. you knew what was happening behind the door of your "room". not wanting to see or find out if your theories were true, you hid under your ragged blankets, trying to fall asleep again, hoping this was all just a bad dream.

your eyes flew open as you gasped, sitting up from your bed. your actual bed. it was all just a nightmare. a flashback. after a while, somebody started softly knocking on your door. you hated yourself at that moment for hoping it was byakuya just coming to check on you or something.

getting up to unlock the door, you passed your vanity mirror and saw you were pale, sweating and shaking. grabbing the door handle, you used all the strength you had to pull it open, revealing who you'd hope to be behind the door. your husband. "byakuya-!" you jumped onto him to hug him.

"yeah yeah, hi. i just came here to apologize for... this morning," he hugged back, with his same disgusted face. you knew he's just like that whenever he received affection, though. "so, what happened- you're all sweaty and stuff," he gently pushed you away and folded his arms, looking down (or up if you're somehow taller than daddy long legs) at you.

"it's nothing, just a bad dream," with him around, yea, you felt better, but to say you've recovered fast would be an understatement. "hm. alright," he gave you a suspicious look before turning back to where his room was, but not before announcing something you've been wanting to hear for so long. "also, since you wanted to, we're going to disneyland."

Cant stop thinking about marco 'first bounty was as the ships parrot' the phoenix

He couldnt fly well when he first joined and was new to his fruit but was so flush with 'cool new form!' he spent most days in phoenix form, leading to the constant toktoktoktoktok of little talons clacking across the deck. Hes still figuring out new noises so he actually did kinda mimic things like a parrot, he'd figure out he could trill and such and the next few days would not stop doing it in excitement. Marco did, of course, steal everything shiny and show it off after, the wb pirates would have a simple skirmish and let the other crew go but marco would still come back with most of their treasury for pops. The day the phoenix figures out pop's shoulder is the best perch ever is a funny one, he awkwardly bird climbs up (look for videos of owls climbing) and is so so happy when he reaches the top. Another crewmate tries to sit there later to see what the fuss is about and proceeds to be chased around by an absolutely furious bird.

Roger finds the bling collecting hilarious and likes to bait and taunt marco and his bird instincts when the crews meet. He hooks shiny treasure to his coat just to taunt marco to go bird and steal it so he can snicker at the happy little bird waddle of a triumphant phoenix bringing it back to pops. Rayleigh claims roger is so good at bringing out the full phoenix because he to, has the brain of a seagull but whatever it is marco passively holds a grudge against roger for all this despite the phoenix loving him.

if i may suggest for my own Devious And Villainous purposes (going "hehhe chicken"), Buff Orpington chicken fulbright? known as the "golden retrievers" of birds, i think his wings would be HUGE but very dense so they give him a big silhouette but he cant fly as well (i think he'd factor it into his commitment to JUSTICE, that he just parkours his way around to chase suspects, he can manage a pretty solid glide id think). hed probably give SUCH good wing hugs though (which i feel like would be the equivalent of the type of hugs where you get picked up and spun around which feels like SUCH a fulbright thing to do)

i did find something neat for blackquill being Bat Hawks, theyre black and white and VERY successful hunters and the name evokes a menacing batman looking bird but they just look like dweebs which i find fitting for him, i cant find much other information on them i just saw them and went :O

bat hawks are part of Accipitridae family along with like. literally every other hawk/eagle/sharp thing EXCEPT. Ospreys and Secretary Birds. they are the two other families, with only one species in each family. floating the idea that athena is an Osprey, since there used to be more members of the genus that have since gone extinct (metis pandion lovensis?), and juvenile ospreys have buff tinges to their feathers which would indicate 1 her youth 2 subtly connect her to the phantoms disguise 3 match her hair more (and also the idea that the stressors caused her feathers to retain their juvenile pattern instead of washing out the buff tint). i also just. really like ospreys.

and then flipside, the secretary bird is a COMPLETELY isolate species, but the name secretary implies someone who will complete tasks out of the limelight, just like the phantom. i have also learned they hunt QUITE a few other birds including particularly chickens.... they also seem to hunt in a really wide variety of methods which reads to me as situational adaptability. this doesnt account for the disguise aspect, but i like parallels :P also just occurred to me, i think most people see them as flightless/gliding since they tend to stick to the ground, and their snake hunting is greatly exaggerated, so i think that could lead to an interesting moment in the UR-1 retrial where, not expecting him to be able to fly, he suddenly takes off unrestrained (and then we know how that goes....). im sorta stuck on how theyd disguise their wings though. maybe like athena, their wings kept their youth coloring (all white) so they can dye the feathers? idk

im not a bird person so i dont actually rlly know a lot of bird options so these were just what i found immediately, though if u already had ideas for these characters id love to hear them!! im just literally never not thinking about chicken fulbright or The Phantom In General ^^;

Fullbright: girl you had me at "golden retriever of birds". thats so good. the only con i see is the immediate thought most people have when they think of "chicken" being cowardice. Another option I immediately considered is just a golden eagle. Eagles (at least in the US) are big symbols of freedom and righteousness. I also like the idea of an eagle him and a hawk Blackquill,, something something territorial birds something something (though that's admittedly based of the phantom's actions while impersonating fullbright, and not fullbright himself). Anyways I think I prefer the buff orpington chicken more ! fits his whole justice thing less but deffffff fits his personality more. btw i LOVE the way you've characterized his flying habits

Blackquill: I had a couple ideas for him already, one actually being the bat hawk too !!! He's 100% a hawk to me so it's kinda just a matter of which one. Another possibility is the black-and-white eagle-hawk,, which looks pretty much how you imagine it but also stupid lmao (IT HAS BLACKQUILL'S BLACK EYES) (it's like blackquill with a really bad haircut). This one has wings that are black on the outside and white on the inside, which is veryyyyyy blackquill, aesthetically at least. OKOK AND ONE more idea for blackquill is making him the same bird as taka! which according to the wiki is a northern goshawk or a eurasian sparrowhawk. This idea is SO CUTE TO ME,, like he found his kin yknow,, but it doesn't look as good on him aesthetically as the others imo

I saw your recent post talking about how in order to do that so well, you imagine the phantom is built slim. Perhaps, (and this might be too brutal haha), many of his feathers are plucked to slim down the wingspan and allow for prosthetics.
