Name: Patchwork Jack Aliases: Hellslinger, Jesse Carson, Morgan Chase, Luck & many more. Pronouns: he/they Gender: trans-masc & nonbinary Sexuality: pansexual Species: changeling Class: warlock(?), magical & martial gunslinger Parents: both deceased / accidental death / died when he was 8 Adoptive family: multiple members of the Desert Devils * No known living biological relatives. ** No known romantic partners (ooc: depends on verse).

Caution: Patchwork Jack is a 30 year old armed and dangerous changeling/shapeshifter who was previously a member of the outlaw gang Desert Devils. While in the gang he was an accomplice to multiple crimes such as (but not limited to) armed robbery, identity theft, arson, and impersonation of a police officer. Although sightings of him have been rare since he cut ties with the gang, people with similar accents to his have been spotted committing crimes across the country, headed in the opposite direction of his former gang's territory. It is important to note that there has also been conflicting reports of him seeming to have lost his warlock abilities and/or shapeshifting abilities. In the past he has eluded capture due to the fact he never wears the same face twice and is only identifiable by his distinct accent -- an accent that, with effort, he can conceal.

HISTORICAL PROFILE . . .

Patchwork Jack is a changeling rancher/cowboy with a rather complicated past... Falling into the wrong crowd as an orphaned starving and scared street kid, he crossed paths with members of the Desert Devils. Despite their reputation he was bold, attempting to pickpocket one of them. He was caught but instead of being mad they took him in as a ward. Going on a crime spree with his newfound "friends" (later turned found family) he joined the gang and became a semi-famous thief. As young as age 9 he was helping the gang pickpocket people and steal livestock. At age 12 his resilient nature gained the attention of a mysterious undead warlock patron. His patron, unknown to him when he first became a warlock, fed on chaos, power, and blood. The warlock patron would enable (and encourage) Patchwork Jack to be an active and violent participant in the gang -- resulting in Patchwork helping rob stagecoaches, rob trains, and steal/impersonating other people. It wouldn't be until disaster struck on one of their bigger scores that Patchwork Jack would claim to see the error of his ways.

A poorly placed and poorly timed explosive resulted in a train, NOT the train tracks being blown up. This mistake -- a mistake that was HIS FAULT -- resulted in him getting arrested for both theft and murder. Previously he had no murder charges. It is believed that while in jail, he severed ties with his patron and forcibly broke his pact. The consequences of this decision are unconfirmed but it is likely that he lost all of his warlock powers and his shapeshifting abilities as punishment. How he escaped jail and his current whereabouts are unknown.

The Udurgh is "the body that contains a world". It refers to something that consists of many parts. It is also likened to a big body, or a body that contains other things. The Udurgh is a living thing, and not simply an object. The Udurgh brand literally means "flesh" and pertains to a vessel that can carry a spirit around and allow it to walk the earth.

With the announcement today, I figured it would be good to go ahead and post this link. I've wanted to find a Pathologic discord server for a while but can't seem to find one, so I made one myself. Please feel free to join!

Innisfree: A Changeling the Dreaming roleplay server!

Innisfree is a Changeling the Dreaming roleplaying server! The server focuses on narrative, storytelling and character interaction, rather than rolls & mechanics. Of course you are free to let the dice decide your characters’ fate though. Whether you prefer a more intuitive approach or like to stick to the books, keep in mind that out-of-character communication and consent are of key importance!

We currently exist of a group of about 20 active members, and around 80 in our affiliate VtM and MtA servers. We use both more long format RP styles and short “chatroom” styles, so there’s something for everyone! If you don’t want to RP, we also have a place where you can just share your characters and art~ Occasionally we run online Chronicles and One Shots, and host little events :3

What’s most important however is a casual but fun atmosphere where you can let your CtD characters come to life! Everyone is free to join, whether you know the core book by heart or if you’ve only heard about Changeling and are interested about getting started!

I cannot stomach your kin's blood they say. Well. That was a minor relief; yet the ensuing contact of talons to flesh, working around her own limbs to get better grip, had Alex's heart leap frightfully up into her throat. Even if they couldn't eat her they could still-- ah fuck that hurt!

Crying out wordlessly as the stranger hefted her up to stand, the searing pain of multiple injuries at once makes the changeling's vision swim with stars. Nausea too battles for dominance in her stomach. By some sheer force of willpower, however, the woman manages to not retch. Instead she'll sway unsteadily once great paws of the bat-troll-thing release her; she just... needed a moment to gather herself.

'Uh-huh-' A distracted agreement. Once again hands find themselves pressing around the worst of wounds to staunch agitated weeping. 'More might show up...'

anyways i am once again thinking about changeling the lost. truly one of the best tabletop games. i will always, always be deeply in love with the narrative design space of arcadia as an explicit metaphor for emotional trauma, taking you when you’re lost and giving you a narrative. becoming that idea, and then taking that in your hands and reclaiming it. making your way out of that time and space— you’ve changed, you can’t go back to the way things were, your emotions are delicate and your memories fragmented, arcadia still wants you— but it’s not the end of your own story. it keeps going. the entire concept of changeling courts as queer networks of mutual aid, people who have themselves been pricked by the thorns and promise to protect you from the huntsmen that call for your bounty. turning and facing whatever shadows remain in the woods and finding strength in what you are, despite everything.

it’s just? it’s good. it’s so good.

Well, at least the shadow of the culprit would look a lot different than expected.

To the perceptive there was a distinct largeness to it, along with horns, fur... scary to the unprepared. Yet to the changeling herself when she had mood for shenanigans, utilizing her true form gave Alex many vantage points as she had more mobility with longer legs and her claws. A small consequence that could easily be smoothed over.

Head tilting as her victim craned themselves about to find her, the flicker of form shifting is just as quick as Margret herself was. Stone body with saurian traits burns away into something less intimidating in with glint of green light (easily explained away in a city as LEDs) before the masked woman could focus on her.

A female with blue-blonde hair who was dressed in a hoodie, black pants, and hiking booted legs is what ends up filling Margret's flustered gaze. A easygoing smile hangs on lips as hands put aside three bags - undoubtedly the offending powder, before one stained blue gives a little wave of greeting.
