“You can’t just do that!” Peter shouts, ripping off his mask to stare Tony down. He’s pissed and he’s not the starstruck kid he once was, too scared to step in the wrong direction around Tony, Tony’s too much of a father-figure now that Peter will show how pissed he is.

“I know what I said, kid, but I couldn’t let you do that,” Tony says, as calm as he can, but he’s obviously angry about this too. “You would’ve gotten yourself killed out there.”

Peter rolls his eyes, crossing his arms. “That’s not true and you know it. I know I used to be this stupid kid in a onesie to you, but I’ve learned how to take care of myself now. I don’t need you babysitting me.”

“I’m not babysitting, kid. I’m just watching out for you.”

“If you were watching out, you’d still be home, watching the fucking baby moniter feed. You wouldn’t have dragged out a suit and pulled me from the fight. I had it handled like I said I did.”

Tony sighs harshly, running a hand through his hair. “You have to understand that I was just trying to protect you.”

“I said I had it handled. I would’ve asked you if I didn’t think I could. I don’t need you to come swooping in every time I try to do anything myself!”

“I don’t want you to get hurt!”

“You’re not my dad!” Peter shouts, chest heaving. “You lied to me. You said you’d watch the baby moniter feed and let me handle it, but no, you flew out here to stop me. Again.”

Tony’s visibly angry now, voice lifting. “You didn’t have it handled! There were fifteen armed people in that building, Peter!”

“And I’ve dealt with more! I can’t be a superhero if you keep treating me like a child!”

“You are a child!”

“I’m seventeen for gods sake, Tony,” Peter says, already starting to back away towards the elevator. He just wants to go home before one of them says something they regret. “I don’t need you helicopter-parenting me.”

Tony rolls his eyes, letting out a harsh laugh. “I can’t helicopter-parent you if I’m not your dad, can I?”

“God, can you just admit you’re wrong for once?” Peter says, voice tipping into cold territory. He’s never once acted like this around Tony. He feels like he’s being the annoying teenage-stereotype, but he’s a superhero and Tony should let him act like one. Not keep him cooped up and dealing with cats in trees for the rest of his life.

“Can you just admit that you’re not ready for something like this?”

“You told me you’d stay home unless I asked you for help. I would’ve asked you if I needed you. I thought we’d gotten past this stupid phase when I beat the Vulture for you.”

It’s still a relatively sore topic, all things considered. Tony still feels a lot of guilt for Peter being alone that night, and Peter still deals with a lot of nightmares and panic attacks revolving around the warehouse collapse.

Tony sighs harshly again. “How many times have I had to save your ass after you refused to ask for help?”

“That’s not the point!” Peter shouts, angry all over again. “The point is that you betrayed my trust, Tony! The point is that you promised you’d let me handle this one alone unless I asked you for help, but you couldn’t even do that! Do you just not trust me?”

This is bordering too close to raw territory, real feelings, and that’s normally not easy for them, let alone when they’re angry and fighting.

“Fine,” Tony mutters, eyes dark and jaw clenched. “If you want me to stop helicopter-parenting you, I will. If you want me to let you dive into stupid fights and get yourself killed, go for it, I won’t stop you. See if I care.”

It’s not true, and Peter knows it. Tony cares about him a lot. Too much, probably. But the words still cut deep, and Peter’s never been a good arguer. He always ends up crying if conflict is too much.

So instead of making things any worse, Peter sends Tony one last glare before turning his back and heading for the elevator.

Peter’s driving now. He’s not the best driver, but he can do it. Plus, it saves Happy the long hours to and from the city for Peter. It makes everyone’s lives a little bit easier.

He doesn’t want to drive home. It’s raining now and the sky is dark, and it’s hard to see through his glassy eyes, tears threatening to fall. He almost turns back to the tower to say in his room for the night, but he doesn’t. He doesn’t want to face Tony again. He doesn’t want another fight.

He should’ve been smarter. He should’ve followed his gut to not drive back.

Maybe that would’ve changed the outcomes of the night.

Either way, the roads are slippery and Peter doesn’t see the truck run the red light. He certainly doesn’t see the way the truck loses control.

The last thing he does see is a flash of black as the truck slams into his tiny cheap car, and then the world goes dark.

*Tony stands in the hallway for a long time, staring at the discarded Spider-Man mask on the floor. Peter left in his suit, with a sweater and short pulled on over it like it would protect his identity at all.

He already regrets the things he said. He knows he should have faith in Peter’s capabilities. The kid’s strong and smart and he’s got a crazy expensive suit on his side. Tony should’ve trusted Peter, he knows.

But on the other hand, Tony can’t lose Peter. He can’t let something happen to his kid.

“Karen’s inactive so I’m incapable of getting a read on why, but Peter Parker’s vitals have fluctuated to dangerous levels,” Friday pipes up.

“What?” Tony asks, drawing his watch up to get look at them.

It isn’t clear why his heart rate has chaanged drastically or why his blood-oxygen levels are dropping, but it’s bad. It’s pretty obviously bad, so Tony summons a suit and takes off towards Peter’s last known location.

When he gets to the scene, Tony’s heart drops to his stomach, hands trembling as he tumbles out of his suit.

There are two ambulances, three police cars, a fire truck, and two tow trucks all surrounding the scene of the accident where Tony can just make out Peter’s little car, wrecked and smoking.

Tony had told Peter time and time again that he shouldn’t buy the shitty, old car off his neighbors, but Peter had been insistent. He wanted a car of his own, not one that Tony would buy for him. He wanted to have his own first shitty car.

And Tony let him as long as he promised they’d fix it up together.

They never really did.

“Sir, you can’t be here,” a woman tells him. She touches his arm gently, eyes focusing on him with concern. “We don’t need Iron Man’s help here.”

“No, not Iron Man, I’m just here as Tony,” he tries to explain. “That’s my kid’s car. That’s- He- He’s my kid, please.”

The woman nods carefully, glancing behind her at the wreckage. “We’re working on getting him out of the car and then you can ride with us to the hospital, alright? Just stay out of our way.”

“Yeah, yes, of course,” Tony blurts, voice shaking. “Just- Please, please let him know I’m here?”

All Tony’s allowed to do is wait on the sidelines.

A man’s dragged out of the truck. He looks alright, still able to stand on his own, only a little bit of blood on his temple and hands. His face is scrunched up in awful grief as he stares at Peter’s wrecked car, as he’s taken to one of the ambulances.

And then finally, finally, they get Peter out of the car.

All Tony can see is blood and he nearly throws up, stomach twisting as he sees the paramedics get Peter onto the stretcher and into the back of an ambulance.

The woman from earlier reappears and grabs his arm, leading him up and into the ambulance as well.

Tony can barely breathe as he reaches out and grabs Peter’s hand, trying his best not to cry. “I’m so sorry.”

Peter’s eyes are closed, skin an awful pale, blood staining every inch of him.

“I’m so sorry, kiddo,” Tony repeats quietly, accepting the washcloth and bucket offered to him and he starts carefully rinsing the blood off the kid, water turning pink. “Don’t you give up on me. Please. I’m sorry.”

Tony focuses on washing away Peter’s blood until they get to the hospital and he’s sat down on one of the uncomfortable chairs, left to call May and Pepper and Happy, let them know what happened and promising to keep them in the loop.

Time passes strangely and Tony doesn’t do much but sit there and silently hope that everything will be okay, guilt swelling within him for hours.

Until a nurse comes and leads him to the hospital room where Peter’s already awake, still looking too pale and hurt, but awake. Alive.

“Kid, I’m so sorry-”

“I know,” Peter says, reaching out one of his hands for Tony to take. “I didn’t really think you were being honest because I wasn’t either. I know you only do what you do to protect me.”

“And yet, you’re here because of me.”

Peter shakes his head, eyebrows creasing in confusion. “It’s nobody’s fault. The weather was bad, it was just an accident. We could spend forever pointing blame, but it’s okay. I’m not mad at you anymore.”

“I’m still sorry.”

And Peter smiles, bringing Tony’s hand up to his chest to hold it close. “I love you, Tony.”

“Yeah, I love you too, kid. Don’t ever scare me like that again, okay?”

Crazy ass bitch. Please chill the fuck out. Maybe if you could find the time in your busy schedule, you could also learn how to control yourself. Youre a grown ass women. You should be better than this. Ive only ever seen you do it twice, but the fact that you ever repeated such an unacceptable action is a very serious concern, for me and other people who have really worried about you lately. I dont what the fuck posseses you. I dont know where you find such disespect. But you deserve better than that. Even if its not your intention to hurt yourself, youre so obsessive and deterimined to reach a meaningless goal, is causing torn skin, swelling and bruises. Mutilation that everyone else sees and has to question. Injuries you have to refuse to explain to people or lie to them about it. I know your trying to save face but going out in public wearing your damaged face for everyone is utterly embarrassing. I know you feel it, i know you avoid everyone for a week or two until it looks decent again. You cant keep up with your own poor choices. You cant handle yourself. Its just a few scraps now but it has the potential to grow into something worse. Other destrutive behaviours... i hope you can learn to handlle yourself or you know where itll land you. Ive never seen you so reckless. So low. Its not just low for you but peopls in general. Ive never seen any one do this to them selves and whats worse is you will continue to do it after youve caused quiite the injury to yourself. Even some seriously terribe looking stuff cant stop your conpulsiveness. And even worse than that, you think youre doing something helpful, when you are destroying your own flesh. These designs were created with their meaning as the focus.

The first design is a quick rough drawing of a David Beckham instinct deodorant spray can with sentences all over the spray can. The messages are related to the idea that people will buy an item if it has a celebrity’s name on it, this market the item appeal to people who want to be like the celebrity so they buy the item and feel better but nothing really chaanges. It’s also strange to think that a celebrity can sell their personalised scent for others to use. I like this design also as it isn’t a pretty piece which helps show the message of the piece, I also like the toughness of the piece as I think it suits the message as it’s an rigid and messy drawing of an item that makes you more attractive.

The second piece is a drawing of different Apple products with the aim of experimenting with outlines and using the negative space to create the outline. I like the way the white isnt completely clear but I think that for the style to be carried forward it would have to be more clear so that the subject in the piece is more visible.

The third design is a outline of an IPhone that has the apple moto inside, the moto has been crossed out multiple times to change the meaning of the piece, this relates back to the idea that corporations only want money and will do anything within their own reason to get it. I like the ameaning behind the piece how ever I think that the piece could have been designed better as it is rough.

The fourth design is an abstract form of a pair of earbuds that are rounded and different sizes. The earbuds make two O’s as part of a sentence that says “look Good Spend More!” This relates to the idea that people will buy expensive clothes because they are made by a luxury brand. I like this design as it’s abstract style reflects the abstract idea mentioned earlier.

The last design is a the upper half of the apple logo with their moto inside. The logos outline and the moto were done in a dark shades but underneath the moto there is white bold writing that says “Give is all your money” again relating to the idea of corporations being greedy. I like the hidden message as it’s an interesting addition that can be done in different ways how ever I will need to continue to experiment with this to see if it’s worth taking forward.

DARJEELING:- The Winter Heaven

Darjeeling originates from two Tibetan words: “Dorje” and “ling”. Dorje signifies thunderbolt which according to Hindu mythology is the staff of God Indra. The word “ling” means an area or spot. So, the name Darjeeling signifies the ‘place where there is thunderbolt’. Surrounded by the snow-capped ridges of the Himalayas and gorgeously blanketed by beautiful rural tea plantations, old-world temples(Peace Pagoda) and monasteries. Darjeeling is also called the Queen of Hills. Go to Drajeeling and you can feel why people call that place as ” The Queen of Hills”.

The two best seasons to visit Darjeeling, one between March to May and the other between October to November . These are the times when the temperature is pleasantly cool and the sky is usually clear offering lovely views of Kanchenjunga snow peaks. In winters the place becomes free of rains and showers. Varieties of cultures, traditions, custom etc. makes Darjeeling quite diverse and unique. Sit on Darjeeling Chowrasta and enjoy the beautiful evening and the cool breeze brushing your hair.

The Mall road(Bhutia market) beginning and ending at Chowrasta is perfect for a relaxing stroll. You can click photographs, savour the regional delicacies in local food joints and restaurants and enjoy the horse rides can enjoy some delicious variety of Darjeeling food like Thukpa and momos that are available in the street joints at almost every nook and corner of the town also The Traditional Nepali Thali, The Naga Cuisine, Churpee, Aloo Dum, Sael Roti’s, Chaang these all are famous in Darjeeling.

Dou Chaang Caffe - Holiday Villa

Today we have visited Doi Chaang Caffe Holiday Villa. It is definitely a clean and comfortable place for us to take a break. They started their business on May 2016.

Their renovation definitely will make all of us feel relax!

This is their signature coffee - Doi Chaang Signature Coffee. This signature is mixed between organic milk and coffee. Customers can choose to substitute the organic milk to organic soy bean which depend on the customer’s flavour. The special of this signature coffee is they only have iced one because they used double shots in this signature coffee. If this served with hot one, the coffee will be too bitter. The taste of this coffee is excellent and I don’t ever feel sweet.

They coffee beans they used are A+ Peaberry organic coffee bean from Thailand. The beans are balanced bodied medium roast, with fruity and mellow accents. The taste of this signature coffee is quite good and lightly unlike others coffee that taste so heavily. 

The price is affordable and the place is so clean and neat. I strongly recommend all of you to pay a visit and won't let you all disappointed.

12 days of 12 | day 1 | the moment you fell in love with 12 

To start off with, i had no idea who Peter was before the casting announcement. I didn’t dislike Matt, but he is not my Doctor and i was fine-ish with him leaving.  I cried but was eager to see a new Doctor.  I was actually excited that Peter was older because i was watching a lot of classic Who and was ready for that dynamic again. The initial images of Peter looking like a magician, however, left me wondering what to expect.

I actually warmed up to him way faster than i was expecting.

I liked the Asperger's and writing with chalk on the floor, but the first moment that really hit me was the rant about the independent attack eyebrows.  I think it's amazing how versatile Peter is, he can look very cross and intimidating or cute and approachable.  At this point he was mostly alien and intimidating, but everything about this rant is just spot on and absolutely hilarious.  The eyebrows and Scottish independence became running jokes and for reasons that i cannot even quite put my finger on thinking about the latter makes me all warm and fuzzy inside.  Maybe it's my Scottish blood calling me to stop being an American and return to my ancestral roots.

The feeling alien bit though, i was struggling with it.  I actually like this about the Doctor but wanted to know that i can still trust him 100%.  Intellectually i knew it, but emotionally?  I needed to feel it, to have my faith in him rewarded.  And Moff gave us that in this episode, too, when Twelve seemingly abandoned Clara to buy time and gather intel (through Clara since he still trusted her). I have never identified with Clara more than in this scene.

And so we get our first real experrience of Twelve’s theme and an epic rant.  And i absolutely love that about Twelve.  I’m a sapiosexual that loves big vocabularies, heartfelt speeches, and dry humor.  And Peter ticks all these boxes.  I spent the next few months having my blind blown repeatedly about how much I loved Twelve and how he kept finding new ways to surprise me.

But i also love the phonecall.

Clara was scared, i was scared, and the Doctor was scared, too.  This whole bit is about us (Clara) not wanting to let go of the old (young) Doctor and accept the new, and that was really, really important going through such a big change from Matt to Peter, and it's just as important now going from Peter to Jodie.

Peter has become my Doctor, i love him so much and don't want to lose him, but i cannot imagine not watching Doctor Who because i may have preferred another actor (and i use that word as an all-gender-inclusive term) or because he was the wrong age or any other of a myriad of reasons.  I am a Whovian, classic, nu, through and through.  That is never going to change.  They are all the same to me, you can imagine your Doctor in the same situation, saying the same lines, and there may be changes in inflection, but they are all him (so give us the eyebrows).

The amazing thing is that Peter was continually improving upon his portrayal of the Doctor. This is just the beginning.  Not every scene and every episode is going to appeal to all people equally, but this show is life chaanging, this episode is a love letter to us. I ball my eyes out every time i watch it.  Sad is happy for deep people,

Doi Suthep:

Beautiful temple on a mountain overlooking the city - killer views. Easy to get to via songtaew taxi - taxis pick up at Chiang Mai University at the base of Doi Suthep mountain and run round-trip multiple times per day. Shouldn’t be more than 100 thb each way.

Outside the City: 

Mae Sa Waterfall and Queen Sirikit Botanical Gardens

Fantastic day trip from Chiang Mai - about 45 min drive from the city center. Easy to find on your own if you’re on a motorbike or you can hire a songtaew taxi to take you out there for the day. If driving yourself - take the Mae Rim Road out of town (107) and turn left onto the 1096 after about 40 min driving (highway sign will say botanical garden and mae sa waterfall) From the turn it’s about 5 min to the waterfall and another 10 to the botanical gardens.

Doi Saket: 

drive out to doi saket for an afternoon (25 min drive from downtown chiang mai / thapae gate) - hang out at the temple, visit the big buddha on the hill and check out the doi saket hot springs.

Doi Inthanon 1-day Nature Tour

There are many tour companies in Chiang Mai that will take you to Doi Inthanon for the day. Recommend going with a tour company rather than renting a car or bike as it’s a 2 hr. drive, very uphill and you still have to pay the entrance fee if you go alone (400 baht). Recommend finding a tour that does a nature hike along the Giew Mae Pan Nature Trail which you can only do with a guide.

Bua Thong a.k.a. Sticky Waterfall

About a 90 min drive outside of Chiang Mai but worth the trip. Incredible limestone waterfalls that you can climb up and down without slipping. Popular spot on the weekends. Bring lunch and have a picnic at the top of the waterfall before climbing down. Google maps is probably your best bet for directions if driving alone, otherwise - any taxi / songtaew driver will know the place.

Pai

IF you have some extra time to kill, Pai is a great place to do it. 4-5 hour bus ride from Chiang Mai (purchase tickets day before at bus station), Pai is where everything slows down. Small town nestled in a luscious valley with lots of relaxing to be had. If you want to explore, rent a motorbike and cruise around the countryside. Don’t miss Pai Canyon and the waterfalls outside of town. 

Chiang Rai:

Again, if you have extra time and want to get out of Chiang Mai for a few days - head up to Chiang Rai. 3 hr. bus ride. Don’t miss the Wat Rong Khun (a.k.a. The White Temple), check out the night market, eat dinner at Chivit Thamma Da and, if you want a comfortable place to stay in a central location (downtown, across the street from the night market) that also has a late 70s feel, check out The Wangcome Hotel.

Chiang Mai - Samoeng Loop:

I haven’t driven the whole loop personally but hear it’s rad. If you’re adventurous and comfortable driving in a foreign country, rent a car or bike and drive this 4 hour loop around Chiang Mai through beautiful mountain and forest landscapes. Find out more. 

TO EAT:

DO NOT MISS OUT ON EATING HERE THIS PLACE IS AMAZING. Usually packed, you’ll probably have to wait but so totally worth it. Close to Thapae Gate, a few blocks down on walking street side. Visit their website for address or search for it on Google maps. Same soi (street) as Top North Guesthouse - if all else fails, ask a taxi driver to take you there or ask for walking directions. Do not leave without trying the mango cheesecake no matter what you do.

THE BEST KHAO SOY EVER: this one is tough because i don’t know the name of the restaurant. it’s easy enough to find from mccormick hospital though - just cross the street and look for a sign in front that says ‘khao soy’. across from SCB bank. If you can’t find it - try khao soy lam duan which is actually on the map. 

Coffee shops:

Quality coffee has been on the rise in CM for years and today, there’s tons of coffee shops around the city. Here’s a few of my fav:

Ristr8to Coffee (Nimmanhaemin rd soi 3) -creative drinks, these folks are SERIOUS about their coffee

Akha Ama - Fair Trade & delicious (Thapae Rd near Wat Phra Singh)

Doi Chaang - High quality, Fair Trade coffee from the Akha hill tribe in Doi Chaang village outside Chiang Rai with chains all over (Central Airport Plaza cafe, Nimmanhaemin) 

TO DRINK:

I could spend all day listing bars in Chiang Mai and after a few hours walking around the city at night you’re certainly bound to find one or two cool spots. You can get a thai beer (chang/singha/leo) or cocktail anywhere but you can also find a glass of nice wine or an import beer if you’re willing to pay for it.

Bangkok is a crazy city but worth spending at least 2 days. Stay at Vik3 hotel near Phaya Thai BTS (Bangkok Sky Train) station or Hosteling International Mid BKK near Victory Monument if you want a reasonably priced, comfortable, conveniently located place to sleep. Take the BTS whenever you can and metered taxis whenever else. Tuk tuk’s and motorbike taxis are tough on the lungs with all the pollution but fun to do once. Take a river taxi at least once.

You can’t really go wrong with any of the beaches/islands in Thailand in my opinion - I mean it’s white sand, crystal clear waters and palm trees. What’s not to love? That said, I do have a few particularly special places I’d recommend: 

Railay Beach (Krabi):

Stay at Railay Beach Club if you want to splurge - $100/night but totally worth it for your own private house.

Spend an afternoon/evening on the water with Krabi Sunset Cruise - this day trip from Railay Beach is awesome, highlights including jumping off the top of their old chinese junk boat and swimming with bio-luminescent plankton. 

Koh Phangan (skip the full moon party though)

Koh Chang
