So I recently discovered a website/game, that let's you managed a clan of Warrior cats. This is everything little middle school me would ever want, so naturally, I've been super into it lately.

MOON 11 - SMALL DISCUSSION

"They smell so weird!" Buzzardpaw meowed, loudly. "I had a patrol with Finchstar and Riverflight earlier, and they took me to the borders, and it smelled weird!"

"Mom was right, of course." Graypaw said, after he had finished his bite of his prey. He leaned a little bit into Batpaw, who licked the top of his head. His tongue was much more gentle than Daisyshadow's was, that was a bonus. 

Batpaw's paw was bound in cobwebs, but other than that he was free to roam around camp.

"Have you guys even met a patrol of cats yet?" Batpaw meowed, amusement twitching his whiskers. "I've been to a gathering. What about you guys?"

"We just became apprentices, that's not fair." Buzzardpaw lowered his head onto his bird. 

"I'd rather not." Graypaw mumbled. "Sounds like they'd smell worse."

Batpaw shifted where he was licking on Graypaw's back. Graypaw purred, and Batpaw grinned. "Got a good place?"

"It's hard to reach that part of the back." Graypaw defended, and Batpaw rolled his eyes. "Thanks, dude."

Batpaw grew quiet, pulling away from Graypaw.

Graypaw glanced to Batpaw, confused. Buzzardpaw tilted his head. "You alright?"

Batpaw's ears perked up, and he shook his head. "No! Nothing's wrong! Just-" Batpaw's face screwed up. "Ugh, whatever. I'm gonna grab some prey, too." Batpaw got to his paws, lifting his cobwebbed one in the air, and headed for the fresh-kill pile.

Buzzardpaw stared after Batpaw. "... hope he's alright."

Graypaw hummed. "What was that? Whatever." Graypaw turned to Buzzardpaw. "Can't wait to see if the smell is worse in person?"

"Starclan, hope not." Buzzardpaw laughed. "Batpaw didn't say anything about it. Maybe he's just being polite?"

wisplight is also lesbian.

daisystar and silversky are both aroace, roosterpaw is bigender. willowstar is agender, so is hawkwasp. briskwater is cis but uses they/he. flickerstar is bisexual and her wife swiftwind is transfemme. mesapelt is transmasc. buzzardpaw will grow up to be he/they.

lots of moonclan cats also use they because they don’t really care but that’s not necessarily in a trans way.

A while ago, you mentioned suffixes having a special meaning. Could you explain why -claw is so popular? Or -foot? And also why there isn’t really any -flower cats?

Of course!

Suffixes have two uses. They can either be descriptive, or symbolic. Mudfoot is named Mudfoot because her paws are brown, not because of the symbolic meaning of foot. But Nightflower is called Nightflower because of the symbolism that Darkstar pulls from that suffix. Pun and ironic names are also a thing, but most leaders aren’t fond of them. Darkstar, however, is a big fan of puns. Badgerstar also makes his share of ironic names too (Yarrow given the suffix heart despite him being very mean, etc)

Claw as a suffix is extremely popular. Symbolically, it means “a good warrior”. This makes it the “default” suffix. Leaders will give this to any warriors who don’t really catch their eye, but are good enough to become warriors in the first place.

Lynxclaw has this suffix because Badgerstar doesn’t care enough about her to focus on her. Gingerclaw has this suffix because Darkstar at the beginning of his leadership was honestly kind of struggling with suffixes? He was only the sixth cat he’d named to that point and the other cats he’d had names in mind for a long time. For the ones who he hadn’t known for a long time (Sand and Shimmer) he used descriptive suffixes. But with Ginger? He really felt like he needed to give Gingerclaw something different. Nowadays, he wishes he gave Ginger the suffix of heart or leaf!

Foot is another common suffix, usually meaning “a fast warrior”. This one is more commonly used for descriptive purposes than claw. Grassfoot was given the name “foot” for her fast escape of Bayclan when it was attacked. Darkstar had this one in mind ever since the incident

Flower was once a common suffix. It was usually given to female warriors. Eventually, it just became the “default” suffix for any female warrior that didn’t stand out. This gave it a negative connotation, making it pretty much unheard of now.

Two siblings who were made warriors just before the attack on Bayclan were given this suffix. When Alderpaw, Sparkpaw, and Buzzardpaw graduated, Redstar had not known any of them very well. So he gave them the first suffix that came to mind: Alderflower, Sparkflower, Buzzardf— except, he remembered that Buzzardpaw was NOT a female warrior, so he quickly scrambled and came up with fang.

Darkstar has always LOVED the idea of the suffix Flower. Unlike many other cats, he associated it with the idea of blooming— a cat with great potential. That’s why he named his daughter Nightflower— because he saw it as a way to acknowledge her potential. He also isn’t into the gendering of it! If he sees any other cats that get his attention, he’ll give them that suffix too, no matter their gender.

Rapid fire, here are a few other symbolic meanings!

Lake, Pool, Sky: a spiritual cat

Heart, leaf: a kind-hearted cat

Tooth, Clash: a brave cat

Song, drop: a selfless cat

Scar, dusk: a cat forged through hardship

Shade, shadow, rain: a cat who resists temptation (usually, cats who’s family member has killed before but the cat stood against them)

Also, vanity names! When a cat does something particularly special, their name can be changed later in life to reflect that! Common types of vanity names include the prefix becoming the suffix (Leafpelt to Starleaf, Thornbriar to Bloodthorn) or suffixes being changed (this will happen in the future). Very rarely does the whole name change

Occasionally, a cat’s name will change with their gender. This is a different ceremony to vanity names, as this name is not a gift, but something owed. They may request a change of prefix, suffix, or both!

One year has passed in RavenClan and perhaps the Clan should not have been named after an animal that symbolizes death because, well:

Sycamorepaw is the StarClan guide so he was there from the start, he used to be a med cat apprentice actually. Buzzardpaw was one of Redcrackle's kits who went missing and was found dead. Cloverpaw, one of Snipstar's many children (side-note: he brought two more kits: Tansykit and Pantherkit), found near the BogClan border. And little Aphidkit was taken by a hawk.

StarClan is just three apprentices trying to take care of one kitten, best of luck to them.

The Clan just keeps running into a fox behind the rocks, often ending up injured. Or they're attacked by a swarm of bluejays. There's just no break for these cats I swear.

Also Slippaw became a warrior and is now named Slipcrackle. His mentor was Redcrackle and they even have the same insecure personality.

I finally got on the Clan Gen game bandwagon and I love it! A lot of these cats have changed roles by the time I finished these but they’re still good to post anyways.

I've been seeing everyone making @circus-clangen inspired characters, and I'm very excited to hop on that train with a LittleClan AU! It was very fun to assign everyone an act and come up with silly outfits! I've already come up with rudimentary lore for character dynamics and appearances (someone help me)

Moons 3 and 4 with Wolfclan. Congrats to Goldjay and Buzzardtree for being promoted to warriors, and Cloudpaw for starting her training. Hope things continue to go well for them.

Also, Stormstar is the only one currently with any romantic attachment to anyone, and it just so happens to be her Deputy, who isn't into her. Hopefully she won't be too broken up about it....

Saltears has become an elder. Their bad eye has become bad eyes and they feel more like a hindrance than a help these days so Hopstar has allowed them to retire. Oddspots still takes Saltears out for walks and beachside cuddles.

Shimmerfreckle's leg was injured by some twoleg garbage.

Redocean and Riversand have caught whitecough.

Pumpkindapple is breathing easy again.

Crestspeckle has brought home two kits. Sunkit and Mallowkit. Starlingclan ignores how the kits smell lightly of a different clan.

Shadowpaw, Lightpaw, Squidpaw, and Moonpaw have all become apprentices under Sleekrun, Riverfin, Sunnybird, and Hailleaf.

Brindlepaw has expressed interest in other clans and ensuring peace is held so Hopstar has made them the first mediator of the clan! Pigeonfleck and Riversand volunteer to teach Brindlepaw all they know about other clans and how to advise cats until they are ready to do this on their own.

Heavytail and Runningcrest have caught whitecough.

Hilltalon caught greencough.

Redocean no longer has whitecough.

Blizzardspots was found dead near the Snipclan border!

Lightpaw and Brindlepaw are trying to talk to Snipclan to get some answers.

Saltears tail has healed.

Mantisearsand Sloepelt caught yellowcough.

Sneezedazzle's broken bone is begining to look infected.

Riversand's and Runningcrest's whitecough is gone.

Springpaw, Fawnpaw, and Beetlepaw have been deemed ready to become warriors. Springpaw becomes Springmimic after their independence. Fawnpaw becomes Fawnfur after their intelligence. Beetlepaw becomes Beetleclaw after their energy.

Shadowpaw has caught greencough.

Moonpaw's leg was horribly injured by a twoleg trap.

Heavytail has been cured of their whitecough.

Sunnybird 'found' and brought back a kit to camp. They name the kit Chasingkit.

Sneezedazzles broken bone is not looking very good.

Sungill caught whitecough.

Eggsong tried to confess to Treeheart but they were rejected. Eggsong then went to mope along the beach and caught yellowcough.

Peachwhisker is expecting kits!

Hilltalon is feeling much better.

Sloepelt has passed because of their greencough.

Lost and so far away from the cats they knew and loved, Frecklecry wonders if they will even reach Starclan.

Wolverinepeak has caught yellowcough.

Podpaw, Sardinepaw, Conchpaw, and Tumblepaw have all become full warriors of Starlingclan. Podpaw has become Podarch in honor of their spirit. Sardinepaw has become Sardineswipe also in honor of their spirit. Conchpaw has become Conchgleam in honor of their insight. Tumblepaw has become Tumblethud in honor of their resilience.

Buzzardpaw's broken jaw has healed well.

Shadowpaw is no longer coughing.

Whisperpeak is expecting kits!

Oddspots leg is feeling better. Weaker but better.

Sneezedazzle has finally recovered from their infection and broken bone.

Moletangle's leg was injured in a twoleg trap.

Buzzardpaw got into a fight with a rouge and was injured.

A badger attacked the camp! Cats scrambled to battle-ready positions to fend off the lumbering beast.

Hopstar, Wolverinepeak, Sleekrun, and Duckflow raced to defend the nursery. The four cats scratched and batted the badger's long nose whenever it faced their direction. The badger retaliated with a huge paw slamming down toward the cats. Wolveringpeak was unfortunately too slow and was hit full force by the terrifying paw. Duckflow raced forward with the fury of a shark and latched onto the creature's face. Hopstar and Sleekrun followed Duckflow's lead and launched themselves on the badger's back, clawing and biting wherever they could. With a single violent shake, the badger managed to dislodge all of them and bit down on Duckflow's belly.

Freezespots, Honeymurk, Skyback, and Thunderpaw crowded the entrance the the medicine cat den, hissing and spitting and warning the badger away from their den and its vulnerable inhabitants. The badger lashed out at the medicine cats catching Freezespots on the side of their head causing them to go scattering to the other side of the camp. Skyback hissed in furious defiance and laid down vicious blow after vicious blow on the creature's sensitive nose. Sneezedazzle, who had been in the den that morning to have their leg checked over again, came bursting out yowling and slashing their claws against the badger's thick hide until their leg suddenly gave way and they collapsed. As they struggled to stand the badger was driven back by the still hissing medicine cats and they were squashed under paw. Hearing the crunch of bone coming from behind the badger Honeymurk broke formation to possibly drag the injured cat out of the badger's way when they retreat only for the badger to snap at the unsuspecting medicine cat catching their leg, tossing them up and then catching their head in their jaws.

Hopstar yowled a battle command to the remaining cats and they all pulled themselves into a battle formation. Small-statured warriors ducking under the beast's belly and clawing from there. Warriors with the longest legs and most powerful haunches lept onto the badger's back to bite and scratch where they could. Then Hopstar and Crookedbraken rushed the creature's face and scored their claws over its eyes, nose, and lips. With one final furious roar, the badger stumbled backward, turned around, and ran for the dunes. Starlingclan raises their voices in celebration. They had won! but not without their own losses.

Ploverspeak, Hilltalon, Conchgleam, Willowbeetle, Wolverinepeak, Crestspeckle, Duckflow, Honeymurk, Eaglepaw, Sneezedazzle, Pigeonfleck, Weedpaw, and Freezespots remain still and cold on the camp floor. Never to wake again.

MOON 13 - SILENCE

"It's border patrol time."

Lichentooth glanced up from her mouse to Hollyspike. Near Hollyspike was his apprentices, Tricklepaw and Buzzardpaw. She glanced back down to her mouse, sighing. It was that time, wasn't it?

She leaned down and took one last bite, savoring the meat between her jaws. She got to her paws and nodded. "Lead the way."

"Are you really going to leave that mouse like that?" Tricklepaw asked, padding over to the remains of the mouse.

"We have to do the patrol first. Can't leave the border unmarked." Buzzardpaw meowed, dark ginger tail twisting.

Tricklepaw stared down at the mostly boney remains of the mouse, then sighed with a shrug. "Fineee."

"Thanks, Buzzardpaw." Hollyspike meowed, placing a tail on the tom's back. Buzzardpaw stiffened a little bit, nodding rapidly. 

Tricklepaw walked back to the little group, and they departed out of the camp.

As they wandered towards the Rattleclan border, Tricklepaw scented something and broke off. Hollyspike's pelt bristled and he shouted at her to focus on getting to the border. Lichentooth stood in place, tail swishing nervously on the forest floor. Buzzardpaw stood by them, eyes narrowing but tail swishing like Lichentooth's.

Tricklepaw returned, with a mouse in her jaws and a gleeful light to her eyes. She dropped it, head held high. Buzzardpaw gasped, but he was smiling.

Hollyspike sighed, but they buried Tricklepaw's catch and continued on towards the border.

When the trees thinned out and the grassy plains came into view, there was another group there. Galetuft lifted her head up, and Floodpaw nervously pulled into the deputy's side. Meadowpaw and Swanshine were there too, and their chatter had stopped to glance at the new scents.

Lichentooth bowed her head. Hollyspike briefly nodded. "Let's just get on with this, then."

Galetuft snorted, but she was smiling. She pushed against Floodpaw to get them to start moving, and the Rattleclan patrol followed. Lichentooth waved a tail and watched them go. Hollyspike pulled ahead to start marking, and Lichentooth followed suit.

Lichentooth is recruited by Hollyspike to help with the border patrol with Tricklepaw and Buzzardpaw. They meet with Rattleclan and just continue marking the border.
