i also think the fact that i had such a stunted and isolated upbringing and now that im an adult all my friends are on atypical life paths (and honestly even my friends as a kid were like this too) means i find things that are usually very common life stages really interesting. like knowing someone who has a house and a wife and 2 kids (with that wife) and a job with a salary feels like meeting fucking paul bunyun to me. or hearing the kids i work with talk about graduating high school and going to college and being on a real path with that stuff is neat? or even sometimes knowing cis/het people who are like going thru that coming of age stuff that i never really experienced the way you see it in the movies bc of transness/queerness/neurodivergence. its like woah they said the name of the thing in the thing. do u know what i mean???
#this actually reminds me of one of the girls at work whose been here for 2 yrs so i feel like im watching her grow up#shes graduating hs this year and shes really smart and she always asks questions like this#like picking ur brain about your life like 'what did you feel like growing up how was your family' etc#its kinda cool#she already got a degree bc of dual credit courses and an internship lined up and im so proud of her#and theres another girl her same age who came to me last night telling me her situationship just broke her heart#and they were both talking all about their prom dresses and all that stuff and were so excited last month#like idk i guess i just find it endearing#i think part of it is also that while these specific paths are thought of as common/default#there really is so much variance in life and really truly so many people not on those paths for so many reasons#which actually does loop around to making it seem strange#like truly how many people do you really know anymore who stayed at 1 job until they rose the ranks#who got married and had kids with that person and now they live in a house in the suburbs with some dogs and cats#like who does that anymore#meanwhile i think its just cool seeing kids actually experiencing growing up but in retrospect and not as a peer feeling confused & jealous#like woah youre a girl buying a dress and getting her hair done and texting a boy thats so wild ive never done that#or woah youre taking courses to prepare for college and know what degree youre going for#i no longer feel resentment that i felt left behind during all that shit when i was a teenager#im just happy for them and proud of them

isnt it crazy that someone can make a completely legal app for ios but if apple doesn't want it in its app store because of lol lmao reasons you have to then go through a gazillion loops just to get this one app and also millions of people buy apple's products because they don't see the problem with an operating system that fully controls what you can or can't have on your device and also has several other major problems. insane
#m#like ive been taking my 3ds to english classes because the kids find it more fun than regular ol' excerises#and also watching movies gets stale pretty fast#but out of the 9 games i own only three let me change the language to english#because pokemon and apparently professor layton too thought it was a very smart idea to have region-locked games 🤪#but getting a ds emulator on ios is soooooooo goddamn dififcult. cant just download a zip file you have to hack your iPad or smth#cant download music either you have to download itunes and put your music files on iTunes and then sync your iPad to itunes#but also it makes a backup copy everytime even though i don't want one and there's no way to turn that off#and also cant transfer files to your ipad you have to do it through a third party app and they all have really small storage limits#and another gazillion issues that windows or even android don't have 🧨💣🧨🧨💣🧨💣🧨💣🧨💣🧨💣#hate this thang. i cant believe people told me it was worth spending 600€ on this than buying another cheap ass drawing tablet

Apas-95 doing posts about how they are right about what it takes to train with firearms and getting workers military training while having never shot a gun in their life is really funny. What's kind of less funny is that they openly encourage people to commit felonies that would land any leftist training group in jail for 20+ years and bar them from ever handling firearms again. ever since i discovered thrifting clothes online it is now a weakness of mine i’m like oh i can get this nice shirt for an affordable price? and then i have gotten 5 shirts at an affordable price and spent $80 😔✌️

huge news: my genius son can now figure out the treat puzzles. he has a neurological condition that makes his motor skills / problem solving pretty bad so he has never been able to do them with the other cats. but i sat with him for an hour trying to show him and eventually he managed to use his paws to get them out and it turns out he really likes doing it. everyone clap and cheer etc
#i KNEW he would enjoy them once he figured them out#he used to watch the others do it and get frustrated because he can't always get his paws to do what he wants them to#my mother kept saying he's not smart enough to do them and I KNEW she was wrong#he's not stupid. his brain just works differently and he takes longer to learn / understand things#but he did it !!!!!! now he can have this one and i can buy a harder one for miss burger and poppy roo

#txt#absolutely ridiculous and unnecessary that this works but damn i'm having a great time with it#i can now: use my phone with my laptop with windows smart link#and also: use a mouse + laptop keys on my phone with samsung multi control#now i really want to be able to control my laptop with my phone tbh#but originally i discovered that last part bc i'm considering buying a tv and using it to mirror my laptop so i have a bigger screen#for tv shows/movies and the like so i wanted to see my options#and it'd most likely be samsung cause i'm just a samsung girlie what can i say#so i could definitely connect my phone to the tv with smart view#but my laptop doesn't have smart view and i just wanted to check if it would connect to a samsung tv#and samsung website says that it does but windows implies that i'd need smth for the connection#but idk if windows' mind would change if it knew that it would be a samsung samsung connection#this all started bc i want to watch eurovision with a friend btw anyway#not sh#saskia talks#wildest part is actually that i can wake up and unlock my phone with my mouse like that is truly something#then again i wake it every time i accidentally put my mouse too far to the right#also also i can now locate my phone and laptop#and the address is almost right but damn they are not even close to each other on that map. different cities in fact
