Study Session
A/N: So I just finished a torturously long exam session and this fic is a result of all the stress and mental breakdowns I've accumulated like Pokemons during this time. I actually wrote this piece between two of my biggest and most difficult exams, hence the N.E.W.T.s coming in to play. I hope you enjoy and if you relate, I'm so sorry! Remember that you are strong and no amount of academic stress can bring you down!
Pairing: Remus Lupin x Potter!reader
Masterlist
The table you were sat at in the Library was so crowded with textbooks and parchments that you could not see the wood any longer. Notes and cheat sheets, explanatory scrolls of parchments, quills and bottles of ink covered the entire surface. Hell, Lily even brought a dictionary. Merlin knew what use would a muggle dictionary have when it came to magical terms, but you learned a long time ago to never question her genius.
It was N.E.W.T.s season and to say that all 5 of you were stressed would be an understatement. James thought that once you passed your O.W.L.s, the N.E.W.T.s would not be as scary as everyone made them out to be. It was an exam session, a very long and tiresome and perhaps crucial exam session, but it wasn't Voldemort, right?
Wrong. The stress was growing by the hour and despite having two more weeks at your disposal to revise and memorise all you needed to, it didn't feel like enough.
But then again, was it ever enough?
You've been preparing for the N.E.W.T.s since the beginning of the school year, forcing yourself to attend every class and take a ginormous amount of notes that you knew would probably end up useless or lost somewhere at the bottom of your book bag. Still, you couldn't bring yourself to pause. Failure was not an option.
So far you tackled Charms, Transfiguration and Defence Against the Dark Arts, all of them easy and rather entertaining subjects, if you were to say so yourself. Right now however, you were stuck on the same Potions chapter for the past four hours and were just about ready to scream, cry, Avada Kedavra yourself or better yet, all of the above.
"Hey, Sirius?"
He hums and looks up, noticing your twitching eye and the exasperation rolling off you in waves.
"Y/N, are you okay?"
The concern was palpable and it caught the attention of your boyfriend in an instant, yet Remus knew better than to pester you with questions right now. He was adamant about rest and health being your first priority, but considering his own overcrowded study schedule, he would be a hypocrite to point it out at the moment. He did, however, push a goblet of water in your direction, which you eagerly accepted and gulped down in seconds. You weren't exactly allowed food or beverages in the Library, but what Pince didn't know would not hurt her.
You thanked Remus and handed the goblet back, before turning to Sirius and taking a deep breath to regain your composure.
"I have been rereading this chapter for the majority of our time here and I still don't understand the origins or the side effects of Amortentia when used for a longer period of time. No one really bothered to detail on them in any of our textbooks and I am not sure anyone ever subjected themselves to testing it out and then writing a memoir about it. However, Slughorn oh so graciously announced us that it might be included in the advanced exam topics. Do you happen to have anything on this? I know he mentioned some in class, but I didn't catch all of them."
"I think I do..."
He shuffles some parchments and knocks down some books, thus earning himself a stern look from Madame Pince, but ultimately finds the notes and hands them over.
"There you go, love."
You smile and thank him, humming while you scan the information. For such a chaotic human being, he had the neatest handwriting you've ever seen.
It doesn't take long for you to find the part about side effects, however there was nothing you didn't already write down yourself. Thankfully though, Sirius was the type of person to absently write down everything he heard so you found other helpful pieces of information. This was why you asked him for the notes in the first place, instead of Remus or James. Remus, much like yourself, only wrote the parts he was less certain of, whereas James didn't write anything at all. And Lily, Merlin bless her, she was a growing disaster when it came to writing information down. There was, contrary to her claims, no method to her madness.
You rolled up the parchment once you were done writing, yet kept it close, just in case you needed it again later. Sirius was studying for Transfiguration, so he wouldn't miss the notes anytime soon. Lily turned to you, ready to ask a question regarding a Charms lesson she was too sick to attend, but stopped and frowned, browsing the page spread out on the table in front of you.
"Y/N, why are your notes bilingual?"
You turned and followed her gaze to the margins, specifically to the terminology you borrowed from Sirius...
You unscrolled his notes again and placed them next to yours, looking from one to the other with a bemused smile. Next to the name of the potion, you drew a little arrow and wrote amour et obsession, which would have been inconspicuous, had you not added une potion délicate and l'amour impossible devient possible.
There were a few more next to the ingredients list and some corrections made regarding the mode of preparation. As you scanned the two sets of notes, you noticed that his were entirely in French, while you half translated, half copied your added bits.
You didn't know what was funnier, that you mindlessly wrote the information in Frenchglish, or that you didn't notice it was in another language to begin with.
English was your mother tongue, yet like every other pureblooded offspring, you were forced to attend a variety of language lessons to determine which ones you would be more skilled in. Romantic languages proved to be your forte, so you stuck with French, Italian and Latin. It wasn't easy in the beginning, seeing as they are all mere variations of the latter, therefore making them ridiculously easy to mix up and combine in the oddest of sentences, but you persevered and were now fluent in all four.
Regardless, slip ups like the one you were tiredly staring at now were not unheard of. You were certain it was a testament to how tired you truly were. Perhaps Remus was right, you should rest more.
But then again, this was not a simple exam session. It was the one that would determine your entire future. You could sleep when you're dead.
"You write your notes in French?"
Sirius' head shot up immediatey, confusion written all over his face.
"Yes?"
By now everyone's attention was on your exchange, which deepened his frown. James looked like he missed everything until that very moment, Remus was watching his best friend with a raised brow and Lily was silently shaking her head, smiling. She didn't know how she ended up with the lot of you, but she knew she loved you dearly.
"French is my first language" Sirius added, as if that was all the explanation you needed.
Sadly, it did nothing to clear up the confusion. When neither of you said anything, he added "doesn't everyone take notes in their first language?"
Despite Remus being the only other person in your group who wasn't a native English speaker, therefore making him the best candidate to answer his friend, you all shook your heads, your faces betraying different levels of amusement and fondness. It was a rather endearing situation.
"I don't take notes in Welsh, if that's what you're asking. I don't think I can even translate half the things correctly. Besides, the spells are in Latin, so imagine how that would look on a piece of parchment."
You chuckled at the mental image of magical notes looking more like pages taken from that muggle author's book, Tolkien. Lily followed and you both received a glare and a pointed "shhh" from Madame Pince. Honestly, it was a wonder she wasn't kicking you out at this point.
"Wait a second" James turned towards his best friend "ALL of your notes are in French?"
Sirius nods. Poor baby looked like a deer caught in the headlights.
"But don't you..." you frown, unsure how to formulate your question "I see you writing constantly. If the Professor speaks, you write. How..." you groan, burying your face in your hands and shaking your head "my brain hurts. You look as if you write down everything that is said in class, so I assumed that you do?”
You peek an eye up only to be met with Sirius chuckling silently.
“I do write mostly everything that is said in class, but first I summarize it and I guess it’s easier to summarize it in French. I find it easier if I reformulate the information because it shows I understood the concept, but to avoid learning something mechanically and forgetting it when I flip the page, I use my own words. The only issue is that sometimes I forget the word I need in English or there isn’t even a word in English for said thing to begin with. Thus French. And no one really asked me for my notes before you so I didn’t see any reason to put any effort in translating them. And you didn’t seem to have a problem with it anyway.” he adds with an amused smirk, remembering Lily’s previous comment about your notes
You mask your chuckle with a cough and glance at your notes again.
“That is actually a great idea, Pads, I might have to start doing it myself.”
“NO!”
The lot of you was startled by James’ whisper-shout. You gave him a bewildered look, raising an eyebrow in question.
“Are you alright, big brother?”
“Don’t you dare. I know you and your disturbingly brilliant mind. If you start implementing this method, you’re going to write your notes in Latin” he squints, an accusatory look in his eyes “and where am I going to get my last minute notes from then?”
That was it, you couldn’t hold it in any longer if you tried. You burst out laughing, prompting an exaggerated “SHHH” to be directed your way.
“This is your last warning, if you cannot keep quiet, I suggest you move your little study session to your Common Room.”
Madame Pince was stern, yet you couldn’t fault her this time. You were loud and you certainly disturbed a few of your peers seated at nearby tables.
“Sorry” you whisper with a sheepish look.
You returned your attention to the table just in time to catch Lily placing a sweet kiss on James’ cheek, mumbling “don’t worry, my love, I won’t leave you noteless” which seemed to lift his spirits immediately. As grossed out as you were by their affection sometimes (what are sisters for after all?), you couldn’t help but smile at the scene. You were really happy he found his better half, even if it happened to be one of your best friends.
But after all, you did return the favour, did you not?
Remus’ hand found yours under the table and he squeezed it affectionately. You squeezed right back and smiled up at him, mouthing “I love you” and delighting in the beautiful smile that took over his face for the rest of the day.

I hope you don't mind me asking two thing back to back, but for the reverse unpopular opinion ask game.
What piece of PMD lore/story just doesn't sit right / doesn't make sense with you?
Not at all! Love getting asks, thank you! :3
The one piece of lore that’s always bothered me a bit is how they handle humans in the series. Imo it’s just a little confusing and odd. Now for the positive! By leaving it vague, it really hands over the lore to the fans—how do humans live in this world? Are they common, or are you one of/the only one left? Do they tend to live side by side with pokemon, or are they more separate than in the main series? Where did Hero come from? What happened to their family? Etc etc. Plus, in Explorers, the idea of there being humans around, but you not seeing ANY in the Dark Future really adds to the oppressive and heavy nature. It helps show it’s such a harsh world that only the most feral of pokemon can truly thrive.
#blessed-pizza#thanks for the ask!#Now I seem to recall they tried accounting for this in gates?#Bc I believe you were just meant to be from another world altogether#But the pokemon still knew what humans were#So it begs the question—how?#Like did humans ACTUALLY live with them at some point and now they just don’t?#Are they…extinct?#Idk I think it’d be fun if there was an installment where you do your whole “I’m not a pokemon I’m a human!” spiel#And the partner is just like “???”#“What’s a human?”#It could even be a linguistic situation where they KNOW what humans are#But they have a different name for them#(Bc maybe humans could be the “Final Villain” or something idk)#Idk it’s just SO ODD to me bc the pokemon are definitely more self-sufficient than in the mainline games#Like these guys have 9-5 jobs and pay taxes#But then do some of them ALSO live with humans?#It doesn’t look like it but it’s implied at least in the future#Idk the real world equivalent feels like going about your business and knowing your dogs have a shop selling kibbles#Thanks for the ask! I have many thoughts about this and I hope one day we get answers :3

Late Night Chaos — Daisuke x gn! reader
summery: you share your first kiss with Daisuke.
tw: idk, insecure reader?
a/n: this turned out kinda meh, starting to burn out, I'll start with the actual plot in the next one.
wc: 1.4k
Master List
Part One | Part Two | Part Three | Part Four | Part Five | Part Six | Part Seven | Part Eight | Part Nine
You hadn’t meant to peek. You honestly thought it was a book you forgot you brought. Well, that was until you noticed the leather book had no title, which you then assumed was a sketch book your parents gave you in a misguided attempt as a gift that somehow ended up in your book pile. But when you opened it you realized you were sorely mistaken, sketches of pokemon, digimon, and the crew littered the pages. This was Daisuke’s sketch book. Not only was it because no one else on board would draw pokemon (as far as you knew), but the farther into the book you went, the more the pages were just filled with images of you. Whether it be just little stick figures of you and Daisuke holding hands, or full on detailed sketches of your face, all the way to your name doodled on the corners with his last name (or vice versa).
Oh gosh, you felt like a monster. You weren’t supposed to be seeing these. Daisuke must've left it in your room by accident and here you were paging through it without his permission. You were a terrible partner. Snapping the book close, you squeezed your eyes shut. Why the hell did you keep looking? Damn you and your curiosity, you broke a boundary that you only hoped could be mended.
With determination to make this right, you marched out of your room, the small book clutched to your chest. Thankfully it wasn’t too late, you had just been getting ready for sleep when you stumbled upon it after all. Honestly, it was surprising Daisuke wasn’t with you already, the two of you shared a room more often than not these days. It wasn’t a far walk to his rooms, everyone's sleeping quarters were close to each other. Knocking on his door, you didn’t have to wait long, the open door revealing Daisuke with his gameboy in hand. “Hey,” You greeted.
“Hey,” He replied back, glancing up at you before quickly looking back at his game. “Jus’ give me a sec. I’m almost done with this level.”
“Okay,” You murmured, shuffling over to sit on his bed. That made Daisuke paused for a second, glancing at you once again and noticed your nervous expression. Biting his lip, he let out a groan when the game let out the familiar sound of losing, you had unintentionally distracted him and he failed again. Letting out a frustrated sigh, he tossed the handheld console to the side, plopping down next to you. He needed a break anyways, he had been trying to beat that level for thirty minutes straight.
“What’s up?” Diauke asked, tilting his head to get a better look at you.
“I’m sorry,” You apologized, holding his sketchbook out to him. “I didn’t realize it was yours and I looked through it. I should’ve stopped when I realized it wasn’t mine but I kept looking. I am so sorry.”
Taking the book from your hands, Daisuke put it to the side and instead gently grabbed your hands, a small smile tugged at his lips, “Hey, it’s alright. I don’t mind, not that big of a deal.”
You paused, staring at him, eyes wide and slightly confused, “You’re not angry? Aren’t those personal? I went through your stuff.” It was like you were trying to justify your guilt, not able to accept the fact that you had probably over thought the whole ordeal. Not able to accept the fact that you could be forgiven so easily. Why wasn’t he angry? Or annoyed? Sure, he always seemed laidback and carefree, but he was still human. You had seen him insecure, and bummed out, it wasn’t out of the wheelhouse to see him at least peeved as well.
“It was an accident,” He shrugged, rubbing his thumb across the back of your hand. “And it’s mostly just silly doodles, nothing to get upset about. I’d let you look at them if you asked…or even give you a few.”
“There seemed to be a few personal ones,” You murmured, hands tightening around his own, but your argument sounded weak even to you.
Letting go of your hands, Daisuke opened his sketch book and flipped to an image of you with little hearts surrounding it, a mischievous grin on his face, “You mean the ones like this?”
You opened your mouth, face warming at how nonchalant he was about it. Glaring at him you huffed, “I can’t stand you.”
“Is it a crime to draw the one you love?” Daisuke asks dramatically, putting a hand over his heart.
“Yes,” You responded in a deadpan tone.
With a pout, he replied, “Well, you can’t blame me for wanting to draw something pretty.”
Giving in to your impulses, you leaned forward and smooshed his cheeks in between your hands, “You can’t just say things like that and get away with it.”
Daisuke merely giggled, grin brightening under your palms. This was supposed to ease your cute aggression, not make it worse, but it seemed you still didn’t have a full understanding of your emotions. Perhaps you never will fully understand it, but what you did know was that you were going to make him pay for his crimes.
Leaning forward, you place a short kiss on his forehead. Your heart jumped when you made eye contact, his brown eyes shining, watching you in awe. It pushed you to go further, moving your palms from squishing his cheeks to holding his jaw, assaulting his face with fluttering kisses. You made sure you didn’t miss an inch, stomach twisting in knots at how much affection you were sharing, but also feeling oddly content. When you finished, you pulled away enough to make eye contact once more.
Daisuke felt his heart pound in his chest, his cheeks warm and eyes wide in awe. You had been pretty reserved in your relationship so far, not that he minded. You were clearly out of your depth, unsure how to accept and offer physical affection, but your kind actions and words showed how much you cared. Although he was also new to the whole dating thing, being affectionate with you had become second nature to him. Having you not only act first, but cross a boundary neither of you dared to cross took his breath away and made him feel all melty.
Sure, you hadn’t kissed him on the lips, but neither of you had done more than hold the other. The feeling of your lips continued to warm his skin, and he couldn’t help but wish you just laid one on him, but he also respected your wishes. If you weren’t ready for that, he wouldn’t push. He wanted you to go at your own pace since you were clearly more uncertain in the relationship.
“You missed,” Daisuke teased, watching you with a warm gaze.
Pouting Scowling, you smooshed his cheeks again, causing him to laugh. Your blood thrummed in your ears, your heart speeding up and you continued to feel more confident in your actions. You glanced down at his lips, should you…? Was that him giving you the okay? Were you even ready for that?
Apparently tonight was a night of acting instead of thinking for you. Relaxing your hold on his face, you placed the shortest peck on his lips in recorded human history. Daisuke barely felt it, but it still made his breath hitch. You had actually kissed him, lip to lip, the whole smoocharoo. You stared at each other, wide eyed and hearts beating in tandem. Such a simple moment for some was world changing for you both.
“Can…can we do that again?” Daisuke whispered, scared to break the atmosphere.
You nodded, a shaky okay spilling from your lips. It was Daisuke’s turn to act first, closing the gap between you and pressing your lips in a light kiss. You press your lips to his a bit firmer, but your inexperience shows as you're left unsure how to proceed. You felt a bit embarrassed, but it was hard to keep that thought as Daisuke smiled so much you ended up having to pull away.
“We gotta work on that,” He muttered, his grin betraying his giddiness.
“I think you just want more kisses,” You murmured back, feeling your heart skip a beat.
“Can you blame me?” He laughed, wrapping his arms around your waist. “I’ve been wanting to do that for a while now.”
“Must be your lucky day then.”
“The luckiest.”

Lil speech guide: Randy's speech Jamie's speech (Pokespeak will be in parentheses.)
It got pretty long, so under the Bar it goes!
PREVIOUS NEXT
~~~~~~
Jamie, the Gardevoir, and the three Lindens stood locked in tense silence. Randy fought to string together an explanation that wouldn't give away too much, while also trying to gauge Akoya's stance.
Jamie was the first to break the silence. Her expression hardened, her eyes displaying a sharp fury. Well? I'm not letting you a step further until I know it's not a threat.
The pointed stick in her hand lowered to point toward the family, and her authoritative tone chilled Randy. She meant business, which didn't help ease the man's racing mind.
Akoya answered before Randy could, her voice a bit too defensive in his opinion. It's none of your business what's in our bag. It's stuff for travel! What's wrong with that?!
Jamie clearly didn't believe her for a second. Her icy eyes bore into the white haired visitor. I won't tolerate a threat at my home. Tell me what's in there, or you WILL leave. Her eyes flashed ominously. Or worse.
Feeling a wave of protectiveness, Randy shuffled to stand in front of Akoya and Lavender. He hoped they couldn't feel the surge of utter dread that coursed through his body.
Listen, Jamie. He tried to keep his voice low, level, and non-threatening. What's in that bag is very precious to us, and we can't show you out here where others might see it. If we can go somewhere private, then maybe we can work something out.
He felt the sharp jab of Akoya's disapproval from behind him. Between her and the protesting red-head in front of them, he felt his resolve being wringed out of him.
Jamie stood still, her glare unwavering. After a moment, her head lifted slightly as she addressed their Pokemon company in an strong bark. (Darren, Sheila, Percy, please hide us with your wings.)
Percy and Darren gave startled, bewildered looks, while Sheila tilted her head and chuffed questioningly. But they did as she asked, reaching out to their widest wingspans, touching tip-to-tip with each other.
The Lindens hesitantly shuffled to adjust their positions as their space shrank.
There. Jamie eyed them all closely You wanted somewhere private; this is it. If you still won't show me, you'll have to leave.
Randy and Akoya glanced nervously at each other.
What could be done?
They came to a silent agreement.
Akoya turned back to Jamie, giving her a glare that verged on desperation. We're showing you because you forced our hand. NOT because we trust you. If you try anything...
To Randy's surprise, he caught a falter in Jamie's resolve, and something changed. A new expression slipped into her demeanor, if only barely.
Curiosity.
The look on Jamie's face turned from shock to determination.
Swiftly she addressed her three winged Pokemon. (Spread the word; we need to find a little pink Mew with blue accents. It is to be brought back to these three safely and secretly.)
The three beasts nodded in sincerity and took off.
Persim poked his head of of the bag, his face etched in horror, while Momo was shrieking. Stay in there for now, Perzi. Randy's voice was shaky, but reassuring. We'll handle it. Could you please try to calm Momo down?
The orange feline nodded uncertainly and ducked back into the bag. Randy saw a green bubble form in it as he zipped it shut. Momo's screams went quiet, but he knew it was just contained by the bubble. Poor Persim...
The red-headed girl looked solemnly at the devastated family, her expression softer than any of them had seen from her yet. I'm truly sorry about that... I promise you all, this is the best place for a Pokemon like them to be lost at. There will be lots of good Pokemon looking for them, and any humans will be curious at worst. It might scare them, but nobody will hurt them.
I would've done things differently if I'd known they were in there...
Akoya gave up looking nearby for her son and took a breath. She turned to Jamie, for once without venom. Listen, Jamie, with all due respect, we'll be able to find him easier than your little... network, or whatever you have here. He's gotta be terrified! He might just keep teleporting away if strangers find him, human or Pokemon...
Jamie folded her arms with a hesitant nod. You're free to search too, if you think so. Maybe you're right, and he'll only show for you guys. But if anyone spots him, I'll hear of it, so I'd best stick with you.
Akoya gave an uncertain look and opened her mouth to speak. But, feeling her about to protest, Randy interrupted her. We can talk later. Let's go find Midas.
And just for the fun of it, I'm uh... gonna share some of the (very) rough sketches I did for this part, because I find them hilarious.
Luna (my cat) randomly decided to leave the comfort of her cat tower to come lay on my arm. The trouble was, it was my drawing arm. So I made due. XD
Beaten and Bruised - Luke Hughes
Summary: Luke and Sylvie struggle to find their soulmates
content: soulmate au! injuries, bruises, blood, fainting, a bit of angst, fluff!
wc: 5.6k
notes: enjoy guys!! trying to get back in the groove of writing :) not proofread
Sylvie Williams had always wondered what kind of person her soulmate might be. The thought of having someone out there--a complete stranger with a connection so deep they could feel each other's pain--was thrilling yet terrifying. She had gotten used to the faint bruises, and occasional sharp stabs that would catch her by surprise--reminding her of their existence.
She could still remember when she first learned of the bond. She was a little girl, waking up with a nasty gash on her cheek, blood on her pillow. She'd stared at herself in the mirror before bursting into tears. How could that have happened in her sleep? She had sprinted down to her parents room, barely able to contain herself between sobs. Her parents knew exactly what it meant, though. They'd sat her down and explained what was happening to her in the way only parents could.
"Somewhere out there," her mother said softly, "you have someone who will be with you for life, someone who will be there through everything. Thick and thin. You're meant to be together."
At first, it sounded magical--a storybook kind of connection, where she and this mysterious other person were linked to live happily ever after. But over the years, as the scrapes and bruises began to add up, Sylvie learned that fate wasn't always gentle. Her soulmate was clearly living life in the fast lane, and they seemed to collect injuries like they were Pokemon. Sometimes it was as simple as a dull ache in her side that lasted a few hours. Other times, she'd wake up with sore ribs or throbbing knuckles, feeling as if she'd just lost a fight. And one time, she woke up with a broken ankle... that one was fun.
She used to try and imagine what he was doing. Had they been in a car accident? A bad fall? She'd picture them as an adventurer or someone with a dangerous job. But was time went on, she learned not to dwell on it. She couldn't stop them from getting hurt, and the constant worrying became exhausting. Instead, she liked to think that each bruise was a sign that they were out there living their best life.
The constant random injuries had become so much a part of her that her friends had adapted to joking about it, especially her roommate Mia.
"Another bruise?" Mia asked, spotting a fresh mark on Sylvie's shin as she emerged from the bathroom. Sylvie looked down, barely surprised.
"Oh, yeah. Probably nothing," she replied with a grin, rolling her eyes as she rubbed at it. "They must be busy this week. Either that or they've taken up skateboarding."
"Or cliff diving," Mia smirked. "Maybe they're a stunt double."
Sylvie laughed, though it did seem her soulmate had a limitless capacity for injuries. It didn't bother her most days, it made them feel real. She felt them in the faintest aches and though it did hurt, the mystery was comforting. They were out there somewhere, even if they felt worlds away.
For Luke Hughes, pain was something he'd come to tolerate pretty well. As a hockey player, a professional one at that, taking hits and bouncing back was part of the game, an occupational hazard he gladly accepted. But for all the pain he endured on the ice, there were always the other bruises--the ones that weren't his.
It wasn't something he talked about much, even to his brothers, who had all grown up experiencing the same thing. They would occasionally joke about it, but Luke rarely mentioned it. He tried not to think about his soulmate too often, chalking it up as one of those things that just came with being human. But when he was alone, on late nights or long flights after away games, he couldn't help but imagine what they'd be like.
He figured they had to be as accident-prone as he was--maybe more. He remembered his first high school game, how he'd come home sore, only to feel a strange, unearned ache in his ribs a few days later. It seemed like they'd traded injuries without even knowing it.
"You got a twin out there taking hits for you, Rusty?" Nico teased as Luke winced, a dull pain radiating up his side like he'd just bumped into the corner of a counter.
"Must be my soulmate, I guess," Luke shrugged. "Either that or I've got a ghost that keeps beating me up."
"Poor girl," Nico snorted. "I'd hate to be the one taking all your hits."
"I'll try not to break anything this season," he muttered as he tied up his skates. He really wished he could apologize for the pain he'd caused her, but then again... she was serving it right back at him.
~~
Sylvie wasn't the biggest sports fan ever. She'd gone to occasional football game in high school, but hockey was foreign to her, something she associated with people fighting just because they felt like it. It had never occurred to her to watch a professional game, but this was about to be about "new experiences"--Mia's words, not hers.
"C'mon, Sylvie!" Mia pleaded, pulling her along outside Prudential Center as they joined the sea of red-and-black jerseys streaming into the arena. "You never do stuff like this! It'll be fun."
Sylvie laughed, letting herself get caught up in Mia's excitement. "All right, fine. But if I get hit with a puck, I'm holding you responsible."
"Oh, relax. We're nowhere near the ice," Mia dismissed her. "Besides, the only thing you'll get hit by is a serious case of hockey heart eyes. I mean, have you seen these guys? Just wait 'til you see Luke Hughes. You won't regret it."
"I think you underestimate my resilience to heart eyes," Sylvie joked, pulling her jacket a little closer to her body. The arena was packed and she couldn't help but make a face as she was jostled trying to walk through the doors.
They made their way to their seats, a decent section with a clear view of the rink, but not close enough she'd get hit. Sylvie had never experienced the atmosphere of waving foam fingers and signs with players' names on them, and she began to think she might actually enjoy herself.
"Look, there he is!" Mia said, nudging her roommate and pointing toward the players on the ice.
Sylvie squinted, watching the players skate in circles. They were like video game characters, moving so fast she could barely keep track of who was who. But then she noticed him--Number 43, Luke Hughes, the tall denfenceman with light brown hair curling under his helmet. He stood out, as if he demanded her attention without even trying.
Mia leaned over, whispering excitedly. "Total dreamboat, right? Wouldn't you be lucky if he was your soulmate!! I mean, yours is always getting hurt, right?"
"Please. What are the chances he's a pro athlete? Knowing my luck, he's probably a rock climber or something."
But Mia's words did plant a tiny seed of curiousity in her mind. Hockey was an incredibly physical sport, filled with endless risks and injuries. Her soulmate always seemed like he led an active life. She shook her head, laughing it off. It was ridiculous to even consider.
The lights dimmed, and the music kicked up, rattling the arena. The fans roared as the game officially began and Sylvie felt the excitement ripple through her. The players skates carving up the ice with sharp precision. She tried to keep track of who had the puck and where it was going, but her eyes kept drifting to Luke. He moved awfully gracefully for such a rough game, his every move controlled.
Then, it happened.
Sylvie didn't even see the first hit coming. She was finally watching the puck when Luke collided with another player, slamming hard into the boards. A loud thud that made her wince--and then, a sharp sting in her shoulder, a burst of pain that caught her off guard. She gasped, reaching up to rub the sore spot.
What was that?
She tried to ignore it, shaking her head. Probably just a coincidence. Maybe she'd slept funny. But a few minutes later, Luke took another hit, this time falling to the ice as he scrambled for control of the puck. And again, Sylvie felt an ache in her side, like she'd fallen over.
She shifted in her seat, her fingers absently brushing the spot that throbbed with pain. No way, she thought, her heartrate picking up. She tried to dismiss it, but the connection was too uncanny, too perfectly timed. She looked at Mia, who was busy cheering.
"Mia," she whispered, trying to sound casual. "Do you... do you ever feel pain when someone else gets hurt? Like, weird, out-of-nowhere pain?"
"Uh, only when my soulmate is being clumsy. But he's usually fine," she paused, noticing Sylvie's uneasy expression. "Why? You feeling something?"
She nodded slowly, not wanting to seem insane. "It's just... Every time that guy--Luke Hughes--takes a hit, I feel it too. Like... really feel it."
"Oh my god. You think he's your soulmate?"
"No! No, it's probably just a coincidence. It has to be."
But it became impossible to ignore. Every hit that Luke took, every time he went down or got tangled with another player, Sylvie felt a corresponding jolt of pain. By the second period, she was clutching her seat, trying to process it.
"This can't be real," she mumbled, though the evidence was impossible to deny.
"You okay?" Mia asked, watching her with growing concern.
"I... I don't know." She looked back at Luke, watching him as he skated down the rink. Part of her was exhilerated, the idea of her soulmate being someone so cool, so driven. But another part of her was scared. If it was real, he had no idea how much he was putting her through.
And then, as if on cue, everything fell apart.
In the third period, Luke took an extra hard hit. Sylvie saw it coming--she saw the player rushing at him, the brutal speed of the collision as Luke went down. The crowd gasped as Luke lay on the ice a moment, collecting himself.
But Sylvie didn't see what happened next. The instant he hit the ice, a searing, white-hot pain flared in hre chest, unlike anything she'd ever felt. The shock of it ripped through her, consuming every thought, every sense, until all she could feel was pain.
She barely heard Mia's shout of concern as her vision blurred, the edges of her world fading into darkness. The last thing she remembered was the sting of the hit, and then everything went black.
~~
The next time Sylvie opened her eyes, she was lying under bright, sterile lights, quiet beeping filling the room. She blinked, trying to piece together what had happened. Her body felt heavy, her chest aching as though she'd been run over.
"Oh, thank god. You scared the life out of me."
"What... happened?" her voice was hoarse.
"You fainted. At the game, after Hughes took that hit," Mia explained. "Sylvie, I think he's really your soulmate. The timing, the pain--it all lines up."
Sylvie's cheeks flushed, and she tried to laugh it off despite her shaky voice. "You think Luke Hughes is my soulmate?"
"Just saying that it makes total sense! I mean, think about it. The hits, the pain, the last one that made you fucking faint, Sylv!"
Sylvie laid back, trying to take it all in. Deep down, she knew Mia was right but she didn't want to believe it. His life was a worlds away from hers. And the thought filled her with exictement and dread. Lots and lots of dread.
~~
After Sylvie was discharged, she and her friends gathered at her apartment, eager to plan their next move. Mia, Jenna, and Casey were practically bouncing in their seats as they went over ideas, each one wilder than the last.
"So, first thing's first," Mia began, "we need to get you close to him. Figure out if your bruises match."
"Yeah, but how?" Casey chimed in. "Not like we can just show up at the rink and expect him to be all, 'Oh hey, you must be my soulmate!'"
"What about a fan event?" Jenna scrolled through her phone. "The Devils do meet-and-greets, right? I bet we could get tickets to one of those."
Sylvie's eyes widened. "Are you serious? You guys actually want to try and... meet him?"
"Why not? Mia grinned. "It's perfect. If he's really your soulmate, we can test it out in person. See if he reacts the same when you're face-to-face."
Sylvie laughed, rubbing the bridge of her nose. "I don't know. I mean... it sounds a little... stalkerish? Like, we don't know if he'd be open to this at all. He has no idea who I am."
"Come on, Sylvie! This isn't some stranger," Jenna argued. "This is literally your soulmate. Fate, destiny, all that shit. You can't just sit here and wait for him to stumble across you, can you?"
Part of Sylvie wanted to dive in, to test the bond, to finally meet the person she'd been connected to for so long. But she also felt grossly unprepared, like stepping into his world would be an invasion.
"I just... I don't want to freak him out. If he's really my soulmate, I want to meet him naturally, not... not like some crazy fan ambushing him."
"We get it, Sylv. But there's got to be some way to find out for sure."
After a moment of silence, Casey perked up, snapping her fingers. "What if we watch another game? You know, see if you feel anything. That way, we're not being weird or invasive... just testing the theory. You can watch from a safe distance, and if it happens again, we'll be sure."
Sylvie's eyes brightened as she listened to her friend. "That actually sounds... reasonable."
"There we go! Next game's on Saturday. We'll grab snacks, make a night of it. And if you start flinching or passing out again, then we'll have our answer."
~~
That Saturday night, the girls settled into the couch, snacks and drinks ready, the Devils game queued up on the TV. Sylvie tried to relax, though her nerves were super on edge. She wasn't sure what outcome she was hoping for. Maybe neither. Maybe she'd just got to bed and pretend none of it ever happened.
The game began and the camera panned to the players, the crowd roaring, and Sylvie felt her heart skip when she saw Luke, tall and confident.
"Look at him," Jenna said with a wink. "You got lucky in the soulmate department."
"Shut up," Sylvie blushed.
As the game progressed, Luke took a few minor bumps, the usual hockey stuff. But each time, Sylvie felt it.
Mia's eyes widened when Sylvie winced, giving her arm an excited squeeze. "It's him. It's really him, isn't it?"
Then, toward the end of the second period, Luke took a fall, tripping over nothing in particular. Sylvie gritted her teeth as pain shot through her ribs. She doubled over, clutching her side, her breathing shallow until the ache subsided. Her friends hovered around her, their concern mixed with awe.
"You okay?" Jenna gently rubbed her back.
"Yeah... just hurts like a bitch."
Mia leaned back, her expression triumphment. "Well, I'd say we got our answer. Luke Hughes is most definitely your soulmate."
It was real. He was real. The constant reminder of someone else's presence had a face, a name, and a story. And now, all she had to do was find a way to tell him.
~~
Luke's ribs were still sore from his stupid fall as he leaned against his stall, unlacing his skates with careful, slow movements. The hit he'd taken the other night was beyond brutal, even for him. He'd gone down hard, and though he'd been able to shake it off, falling again just made it worse.
The locker room buzzed with their usual post-practice chatter, but today there was a new current of gossip, something that Luke couldn't ignore.
"Did you guys hear about the girl that fainted the other night?" Jack said, dropping onto the bench next to him.
Luke raised an eyebrow. "What girl?"
Jack leaned forward, his eyes lighting up. "So get this--apparently some girl in the stands fainted right when you took that hit. Like, right in the middle of the third period. Security had to carry her out. Everyone thinks it was from you getting rocked."
The rest of the team chuckled, but Luke rolled his eyes. "Yeah, right. Maybe she just had a thing for seeing people get hurt. Or blood."
"I'm serious," his brother insisted. "I'm telling you, man, she saw you hit the boards and dropped like a rock."
Luke tried to laugh it off, but it made his pulse quicken. He was used to having fans--hockey was a thrilling sport and people loved watching it. But the timing was... strange. He'd taken loads of hits before but he never imagined anyone fainting at the sight of it, not unless there was more to it.
"Come on, guys, lay off 'im," Nico clapped him on the back with a wink. "She was probably just some hopeless romantic. 'Oh, my hero, Luke Hughes, so tragically thrown into the boards!'" He put a hand on his forehead dramatically.
"Yeah, yeah, very funny," Luke muttered, half-listening as his teammates continued to crack jokes. Fainting at the exact time he hit the boards? The coincidence as uncanny. It was probably nothing, but... what if?
Could she be...? No. The odds were so small, and it was crazy to even consider it a possibility. Jack was just pulling his leg. It was all just some stupid joke at his expense. There was no way... unless...
~~
Luke couldn't shake the idea for the next few days. He thought about it during practice, while watching film, even on the drives home. His usual routine felt off, as if something was missing, and he found himself looking out into the stands during games, scanning the sea of faces for one he wouldn't even recognize.
It was strange, looking for a person he knew so intimately without having met. The idea of meeting her, of actually seeing her face and finding out who she was, was... terrifying.
In the days that followed, he took any excuse to be where fans would be, hoping he might spot her. He'd sign autographs after practice, spend longer at fan events, stand near the entrance after games. Each time, he'd hope for a sign, an instinct that would pull him to her. Tell him, there she is. That's her. But the crowds just blended together, each face unrecognizable and not comforting in the slightest.
His teammates started to notice. Jack in particular seemed to find it hilarious, trailing after Luke wherever he lingered, making sly comments.
"Looking for someone, Rusty?" Jack asked with a knowing grin as Luke craned his neck to look at the fans leaving the stadium. "Maybe that girl from the game?"
"Yeah, yeah, keep laughing." Luke felt the frustration gnawing away at him. The whole thing felt ridiculous. He didn't even know if the story was true, if the girl was really out there, but he couldn't let it go. No matter how hard he tried, he felt a pull as if she were waiting for him to find her.
Jack laughed, clapping him on the back. "Dude, I get it. You think she's your soulmate, don't ya?"
Luke looked away, trying to play it cool. "I don't know, maybe. I just... I just want to know who she is."
Jack gave him a sympathetic smile. "Hey, don't worry. If she's out there, I'm sure you'll find her. And if not, we'll get a whole fan campaign going-- hashtag find Luke's soulmate or something. The media would love it."
"Please no campaigns. The last thing I need is to look like some desperate romantic."
"Who's desperate?" Nico chimed in. "Looks to me like you're finally taking an interest in finding your soulmate."
"Alright, alright," Luke shook them off. He wanted to believe his teammates were right, that somehow, fate would make this happen without him forcing it. But each day that passed without a glimpse of her only made him more determined.
~~
Weeks went by, and his hope began to wear thin. He tried to push it to the back of his mind, focusing on hockey, his training, his routines. But every so often, he'd find himself searching the stands during warmups. The spark of excitement he'd felt at first had faded, leaving a persistent ache that had nothing to do with injuries.
"Maybe she's playing hard to get," Jack mused one afternoon. "You could always start hanging out at local cafés. Who knows? Maybe she's right under your nose."
Luke rolled his eyes. "Maybe I'll just put an ad in the paper: 'If you fainted during that one game, meet me in section 103.'"
"That could work. You'd have half the girls in Jersey showing up though."
"Not really what I'm going for, but thanks."
By the end of the month, Luke had begun to accept that if might be a long time before he found her, if he ever did. Some people never met their soulmates, spending their lives with only the reminders of someone else's existance. In fact, Luke knew people that got married even though they weren't soulmates because they'd given up. He didn't want to worry about that, but since the fainting incident, it was hard to ignore.
~~
Sylvie hadn't expected much from a girls' night out, but that was part of the appeal. After the last few weeks of "Operation Find Luke" (or "Operation Don't Stalk Luke" as she called it), she was ready to leave the soulmate drama at home for the night. The recent bruises had done nothing to calm her nerves, and she was desperate for a break. Tonight, it would just be her friends, drinks, and lots of laughter.
The chose a cozy bar, crowded but not packed. Sylvie ordered a cocktail, letting herself sink into the moment, a little thrill building at the idea of forgetting everything for a night.
Mia nudged her as the drinks arrived. "Here's to no more swooning over mysterious hockey players," she teased, raising her glass.
Sylvie laughed, clinking her glass with Mia's. "To a drama-free night."
The girls settled into a fun night, oblivious to anything outside their circle. But, as fate would have it, that peace didn't last long. Not ten minutes into their second round of drinks, Jenna's eyes went wide.
"Oh my god," Jenna whispered, elbowing her friends. "Isn't that... Nico Hischier?"
Nico Hischier, captain of the Devils, was leaning against the bar with a group of friends. Seeing him there made everything feel real for Sylvie again, like the whirlwind of the last few weeks had come rushing back at once.
"Oh god," she muttered, quickly looking away. "Act normal. If we ignore him, maybe he won't notice us."
"Fat chance of that," Mia teased. "D'you know what the chances are? This is fate!"
Before Sylvie could stop her, Mia slid out of her seat and strolled over to the bar, striking up conversation with Nico like they were old friends. Sylvie watched in horror as Mia introduced herself, gesturning back to their table with a smile. Nice glanced their way, nodding politely.
"Mia's actually talking to him," Sylvie whispered half to herself. "We're fucking doomed."
Jenna giggled. "Relax. What's the worst that could happen?"
A few minutes later Mia returned with a triumphant smile. "Okay, ladies, don't freak out, but I invited Nico and his friends to join us."
"You did what?"
Mia shrugged casually. "What? He was nice! And it's not everyday you get to hang out with the captain of an NHL team. Besides, I may have mentioned that we've been trying to get in touch with a certain Luke Hughes..."
Sylvie's jaw dropped. "Oh my god, Mia. No."
"Hey, thanks for letting us crash girls' night," Nico smiled. "Mia tells me you're a fan of the team?"
"More or less," Jenna said with a grin, shooting Sylvie a look. "Sylvie might be a little more invested than the rest of us."
"Oh, you know... casual fan." She shot a look at Mia, who merely smirked in response.
Nico chuckled, catching on with a knowing smile. "You know, Mia mentioned you've been looking for Luke. Something about... maybe being his soulmate?"
"Oh, I... I mean..." She fumbled for words, feeling horribly exposed. She hadn't planned on spilling her entire, complicated soulmate saga to Nico Hischier in a bar.
Nico's expression softened. "Look, I don't mean to make you uncomfortable, but... if this is legit, I think Luke would want to know. He's been looking for someone, too."
"He... has?"
"He doesn't say much, but he's been acting... different. Like he's got something on his mind. We all just thought he'd met someone who might be his soulmate."
Before she could process any of his words, a new voice joined the conversation. "Hey, Neeks, you're hogging all the fun over here."
She turned and froze. Standing next to Nico was Luke himeslf, towering and unmistakably familiar even in regular clothes. He wore a small, curious smile.
And then their eyes met.
It was like the rest of the world faded away, the chatter and music melting away. There was something pulling them to each other. It felt like meeting someone she'd known her whole life, someone who lived happily in the quietest corners of her mind. A look of recognition crossed Luke's face.
Neither of them moved, too caught up in the intensity of the connection. Then, almost as if compelled, he took a step forward, reaching his hand out.
"Hi... I'm Luke."
"Sylvie," she managed, her hand slipping into his.
A current ran between them, a strange, electric feeling filled the space between them.
"Wow," he murmured. "This... this is real, isn't it?"
She nodded, too overwhelmed to say much, a giddy smile breaking across her face. "Yeah... I think so."
"We'll leave you guys to it," Jenna smirked.
"Wanna head somewhere quieter?" Luke offered, earning a nod in return.
Luke held Sylvie's hand, leading her through the crowd and out onto the quiet sidewalk. The air was cool, refreshing compared to to the warmth inside. Outside, things felt a little more real.
This was Luke--her soulmate, her literal other half--and he was standing there, looking at her like she was the only thing that mattered.
"So," Luke began, "I guess we should start by saying... it's nice to finally meet you."
"Nice to meet you too, mystery man. I can't believe this is happening."
"Me neither. I was wondered who you were. I mean, I grew up with all these bruises and aches. Half the time, I thought I was making it up." He chuckled, shaking his head. "But it was you. It was really you."
"Same here. I tried to imagine you, what your life was like, where the bruises and cuts came from. And then, when I started to piece it together, I kept thinking I'd never actually meet you. But apparently, fate had other ideas."
"Guess we didn't have a choice, huh?" Luke teased, grinning down at her. "You've had your fair share of bruises, too, you know. It was like trying to keep up with my own clumsy twin."
"Hey! I'm not clumsy... usually. But you--my god. You have no idea how many times I've had to explain away your injuries to my friends. They practically staged an intervention."
Luke laughed and the sound made her heart skip a beat. "You can blame the Devils for most of the recent ones. If you've seen me on the ice... Sorry I haven't made this easy for you."
"I survived. So did you. I guess that means we're both pretty tough... what did you think I'd be like?"
"Honestly? I thought you'd be... well, I guess I thought you'd be someone strong. But I didn't think... I didn't think I'd feel this connection, this fast. It's like I've known you forever"
"I know exactly what you mean," she whispered. "It's like... everything just makes sense now."
Sylvie felt an undeniable pull toward him, something so deep it was impossible to resist. She knew, without a doubt, that this was where she was meant to be. As if reading her mind, Luke stepped closer, his hand reaching up to tuck some of her hair behind her ear. She shivered as his fingers lingered against her cheek.
"Can I ask you something?" he whispered.
She nodded, her breath catching. "Anything."
"Do you feel it too? Like everything's perfect?"
"Yeah. I do. I've never felt this way before. I didn't think I ever would."
Luke's gaze flickered down to her lips. "I... I've wanted to do this since the moment I saw you."
The moment their lips met, it was fireworks, filling her with a sense of belonging she'd never known before. It was soft at first, a delicate brush of their lips that quickly deepened as he pulled her close, cradling her cheek. Each moment was a silent promise, a confirmation of everything they couldn't put into words.
When they finally broke apart, both of them breathless and smiling, she looked up at him. She felt weightless.
"Wow," she mumbled. "That was..."
"Amazing?" he finished for her.
"Yeah. Amazing."
"I can't believe you're real."
"But I'm here. And I'm not going anyway," she reassured."
"So," he smiled playfully, "what's next? Do we just... walk off into the sunset now?"
She laughed, shaking her head. "I don't know. But I'm not ready to say goodnight yet."
"Good. Because I want to know everything about you, Sylvie. All the stories, all the moments... everything."
~~
The city had grown even more quiet as Sylvie and Luke walked side by side, their hands intertwined. Luke's mind was racing, still reeling from the evening's events. Finding Sylvie, feeling the spark, sharing their first kiss--it felt like a dream he was afraid to wake up from.
"Wanna come back to my place?" he asked tentatively. "I mean, only if you want to. I just... I feel like we could talk for hours."
"I'd love that."
They continued toward Luke's apartment, each step filled with quiet excitement, and just as they reached the building's entrance, Luke spotted a familiar figure leaning against the wall: Jack. Jack's head perked up when he noticed them, his eyes flicking between the two of them, taking in their clasped hands with a look of surprise.
"Whoa, hey, Lukey! Didn't know you were bringing home... company." Jack's tone was teasing, but his eyes were curious as he looked at Sylvie. "I don't think we've met?"
"Hey, Jack," Luke rubbed the back of his neck with his free hand. "This is, uh, Sylvie. She's..."
Sylvie chuckled, "Hi, Jack."
"Well, hi, Sylvie. Nice to meet you, I guess?" He turned to his brother, a sly smile on his face. "So, are you going to fill me in, or is this a mystery?"
"It's... kind of a long story." He glanced at Sylvie, who nodded encouragingly.
Jack crossed his arms, examining them. But just as Luke was about to open his mouth and explain, Jack's gaze dropped to Sylvie's arm, where a faint yellow-ish bruise matched one on Luke's forearm--a mirror image, perfectly aligned. Jack's eyes widened, glancing back and forth between their arms, piecing it together. His mouth fell open, a look of astonishment spreading across his face.
"No way. No fucking way!" He practically shouted, pointing an accusatory finger. "Don't tell me... she's the one? Your soulmate?!"
Luke's cheeks flushed but he smiled. "Yeah, Jack. This is her."
Jack whooped, throwing his arms around Luke in a brotherly bear hug. "This is insane! Dude, this is... you found her! Your actual soulmate!" He turned to Sylvie, eyes still wide. "You're real!"
"Last time I checked, yeah," she giggled.
"Oh my god, Quinn's gonna lose his mind!" Jack practically vibrated with excitement, pulling his phone from his pocket and frantically dialing Quinn. Luke barely had time to react before he heard his oldest brother on the other end.
"Jack? It's like past midnight there. Why are you calling me?"
"Quinn!" Jack yelled, making Luke wince. "Guess who found his soulmate?!"
There was a beat of silence, and then Quinn's voice came through, more alert than before. "Wait... you're serious? Luke found her?!"
"Dead serious. She's right here. Her name's Sylvie. And she's awesome."
Quinn laughed. "No way. Luke, man, that's... that's incredible."
Luke could hear the genuine happiness in Quinn's voice and his own excitement bubbled over. "Thanks, Q. And yeah... she's real. She's... she's here."
"Can't wait to meet her. Take care of her, okay?"
"I will," Luke promised.
Jack finally hung up, eyes still wide as saucers. "Okay, I just need to say it--you seem like the coolest! I mean, it's so weird to meet you. You guys were like... made for each other."
She chuckled nervously. "Thanks, Jack. You're... not exactly what I expected."
"Glad I can surprise you," Jack replied, throwing an arm over both of them as they headed for the elevator. "But seriously, I'm so pumped for you guys. You're about to be the most iconic couple in hockey history. Imagine the headlines!"
Luke rolled his eyes, shrugging Jack off. "Alright, alright, Jack, that's enough. This isn't gonna be a media circus."
"Oh come on," he was unfazed. "This is huge! People love a good soulmate story!"
Luke grabbed Sylvie's hand, leading her down to his bedroom, where they settled side by side on the bed. They talked well into the night, sharing stories, dreams, and quiet laughter, each word solidifying their futures together. And as the city lights flickered outside, they held each other close, knowing that all the bruises, all the years, had led them here, to where they were meant to be. Together.
cw: fluff, alternate idea for bw game ending where n wins kinda, drabble
pairing: N/Reader
You fell to your knees.
N stared down at you.
The legendary dragon stood menacingly at his back — Reshiram's wings spread out as it, too, glowered at the sight of you. You had put in everything you had to desperately convince the already doubtful man that his convictions were not going to help anything; not pokemon - not people! But, despite Zekrom awakening and coming to your aid, you had failed. Horribly, terribly — You felt like your throat had swollen closed. Tears burned your eyes. Was N's willpower simply more than your own? You felt equal, but he had still won out in the end.
Before your concerns swelled any larger, he knelt down to your level and brought a gentle hand to wipe away your tears. That eerie smile was on his lips again. His determined expression having faded with his victory in toe. You fought back an urge to sob. Ghetsis's cane on the floor brought you both to reality. His harsh glare at the sight of your closeness with N apparent. The dragon behind the green-haired man took a defensive posture and let out a cry. This brought the supposed king to alert as his eyes went wide. You knew somewhere deep down, N was just a ploy in the grander plans Ghetsis held for himself. Yet, even to protect him from this, you had failed.
Whatever concern you may have had for N was vanquished when the man defeated Ghetsis rather quickly in a battle. The weakness from their battle with you seemed to matter not. You swallowed as Ghetsis looked horrifying. For a moment, you feared that he would attack either you or N, but the dragon was steadfast in guarding you both — Even calling back its defeated brethren back from unconsciousness. You found yourself behind N as he stared down at the man he viewed as his father. Betrayal was etched on his face. How could it not be? A pure heart like N's own would not dare doubt those around him. Alder and Cheren's entry brought reality back. Despite your loss, the league was still making moves to protect the sanctity of the region.
Ghetsis was quickly detained by the two, leaving you alone with N again.
Reality seemed to have hit him hard. His eyes went to the throne that he was to claim as his own and you. Finally, a hand was offered to help you back to your feet. Something twisted in those blue eyes of his. The sparkle in them was never there. An ominous void always lingered. He pulled you into himself, embracing you to himself. His long hair tickled you. Hands grasped tightly onto your shirt. A shaky breath left him. You perhaps would have expected tears, but nothing was to follow. He clung to you for the longest time in silence. It was a torturous moment of facing your own feelings for the man and what would follow.
Eventually, he pulled away, eyes meeting your own again.
“… I wanted you at my side,” N's words caught you off-guard, “Please, won't you support me? Don't you see the truth I bear?” He sounded desperate. His dream… To liberate pokemon from humans. There was truth that there could be positives… Cruel humans existed. But… You shook your head. There was no way you could help in good conscience. His eyes narrowed. Hands grasped your wrists tightly. He nodded. “… What follows this…?” His gaze turned to the light pouring in beyond the throne. You followed him as he walked to it. Somehow, your heart still called for him.
“… Will you join me then?” he held out his hand to you, “There is a lot out there to learn… I see now.”
You took it without hesitation.
The way his eyes lit up drew you in more.
You wanted to see it more.
~
Sunlight drifted in through the leaves above. It was spotty and distant under the shade provided by the trees surrounding you both. Your head rested on N's chest as his arm wrapped around your waist. The air swirled the smell of the late afternoon. Wild pokemon wandered around, unbothered by either of your presences. It seemed they almost viewed N as one of their own most of the time. A hand came to gently stroke your hair as you shifted around. You lifted your head to meet N's eyes. He gave you a gentle smile. Your lips met his own. The arm tightened around you.
If only this peace could last forever… The dragons rested nearby together.
Perhaps, in each other, you found the balance that Unova needed.
Noona I have toughts and need to share them before they forever get lost in the void that is my AuHD brain. I also realised I never introduced myself, you can call be eevee (like the pokemon) and I go by any pronouns!
Simon Riley didnt want to have children. Its not that he didn't like children, he was actually quite fond of them and something inside him melted when ever a chubby cheeked tolder smiled up at him with their little teeth poking through and when a lost child came up to him when he was out shopping and asked him to help find their parents because he was the tallest person there and that obviously meant he could find them easier, he was bending down to the childs level his eyes soft and warm as he asked their names and what they looked like. He was constantly in awe of the little humans who just saw him as a man, not the monester he believed he was in his mind. What stopped him from having children was fear.
Fear he would turn out like his own father, fear that something would happen that would trigger him (because lets be real, the mans a vet and he sure as hell suggees from PTSD) and he would do something he would regret. Fear that he would be sent on a mission and be lost forever, no one knowing where he was or where his body is and he wouldn't make it home to his partner and kids. Fear of raising them wrong or doing the wrong thing and they turn into monsters themselves. It was a fear so strong that he went and got a vasectomy at the age of 18 to prevent any accidents and even with the vasectomy he insists on another form of birth control before he has sex with anyone.
Then he meets you. All soft and sweet and kind and bright. So so bright. All his life has been a dark cloud and rolling thunder clouds just waiting to burst and drown him in their water, but you are like a hint of sun shining through the clouds. Reminding him that every dark day has its end, that even after a storm there is brightness and colour with rainbows. That even if the clouds burst and dark, heavy rain drenches his soul there is still goodness in the world and the sun will always be there to dry and brighten the world again. And he falls in love and for the first time in a long time, he is truly happy.
You obviously know Simon didn't want kids, it was something he told you when you first started dating but it wasn't a deal breaker, you weren't even sure you wanted kids either. You had your own trauma and darkness to work through before you wanted to even start thinking about kids.
After learning more about Simon and his past, you manage to talk him into seeing a trauma therapist. You knew therapy wasn't for everyone but you wanted him to at least try because there were parts of himself he kept so deeply locked away behind stainless steel doors with reinforced padlock that he needed to discuss with someone and he wouldn’t talk about it with you, he didnt want his darkness to dampen your light, but he agreed. He did one session and then another and then another, actually finding benefit in them as he discussed his fears out in the open for the first time. About what he had been through with his dad and as a soldier. He knew bottling everything up didnt help, usually finding solace for his overwhelming thoughrs in a bottle of whiskey that msde the world disappear, he knew it made him for volitaile and dangerous and he didnt want to be dangerous around you, not now. Not ever. He wanted you to expeirnce the same sense of peace ans safety with him as he did you.
Eventually he worked through his fears of fatherhood and having children, realising that he could break the cycle and be the dad he didnt have. He wants to discuss it with you, the potential of having his vasectomy reversed, especially after Johnnys missus has a baby and he sees how good you are with them. Holding them so comfroably in your arms and soothing them when they fuss and hes even surprised with how good he is with them. Able to hold them in one arm, tight against his chest so the baby can hear his heartbeat. You watch him with a small smile, your heart melting at the sight as you feel yourself falling in love with him all over again. After that day you two become the designated baby sitters for the littlest MacTavish and Simon takes to caring for it like a fish in water.
Its a few months later, after Johnny picks his baby up that you overhear Johnny ask Simon about having his own little one and Simon says he's been thinking about it, been thinking about having his vasectomy reversed and giving you the baby you deserve (because he has noticed the sad look in your eyes everytime you give the little one back to his parents and how happy you ar holding them in your arms). Johnny reassurs him that hes nothing to worry about, hed be a great father and hes sure that youd agree. So that night, after showers and dinner he brings it up and he assures you hes doing it because he wants to. Because he wants to have a baby and not just because you seem to want one and when tou agree, hed phoning the clinic the next morning to get his vasectomy reversed and you're phoning to get your birthcontrol stopped
Once its done, it takes a maximum of three months before you're pregnant and Simon stands with you in the bathroom waiting for the results to come up on the test. Hes hand holding yours and his heart beating erratically in his chest as five minutes seems like five hours and as soon as the test shows positive hes sweeping you up into his arms and thanking you over and over between kisses for giving him a baby, tears prick at his eyelids but dont quite fall
But when you're little girl, Aurora, is born he cries. His heart is just so full of love for the little girl in his arms and for you that he can't help the emotions from spilling over.
So yeah, Simon Riley didnt want kida but he is so damn glad he meet you and he did
this is so wholesome and cute and sweet?? i love it so so so much omfg thank you for sending this in! girldad!simon means everything to me <333
Defending Penny from Pokemon
No, Penny isn't a terrorist who's malicious and some kind of evil genius who is on the same manipulation level of Ghetsis.
This isn't an attack on the person who made the post, it's more of a counter argument. Don't harass others, and be respectful.
"Penny is a terrorist group/started on by making Team Star!!"
Penny first made Team Star as a way to combat the bullies who were well, bullying her. I am a victim of bullying myself, and Penny had more guts to stand up than I ever did.
However, it went too far, with the Team Star captains driving the bullies away. Penny REALIZED she fucked up. She realized that and told the Team Star captains that they need to stop because of how they damaged their reputation. And when that didn't work, Penny asked the MC to take down the bosses so the bullies couldn't leave in fear like she did, and the Team Star captains won't be expelled. Penny KNEW she messed up, and WANTED TO FIX IT.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/525719fc188133942ff4ceef38f82e91/021caee4d4c53d70-1c/s540x810/b00858989d3620bfb21e7387bd20833498b62a40.jpg)
If Penny was like "Oh the bullies are gone! Yay! Now let's take over the school!" Then I can understand your reaction. But she didn't act like that. She wanted to fix things.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/13b44351d780b4949f38f40c359950b5/021caee4d4c53d70-c5/s540x810/0e8d2b730b1311f10121c66be712e76d1d7289e2.jpg)
"She really only started Team Star just so she could have a friend group of misfits like her!"
Wow, who would've thought that a group of kids who can relate to the issues of being bullied would join a team to bond together?
Seriously, human connection is a thing. Like, Penny could relate to the other outcasts in school. All of the Team Star captains were bullied, and that was something she could relate to. Like "Oh, you've been bullied! Same here!"
It wasn't just "GRRR WHY IS NO ONE MY FRIEND I AM GOING TO BECOME A TERRORIST AND MAKE THESE PEOPLE MY FRIENDS" because that's what Penny is like apparently.
Context clues and media literacy is important.
"Penny is a criminal because she hacked into the League and Deservers jail time!"
Okay, out of all the takes, this is one that I can agree on.
I do agree that Penny deserves SOME kind of pushback for hacking into the League Point system and stealing from them. However, she is still a child, albeit teenager, and should at least get something inbetween of slap on the wrist and jail time.
There are options between nothing and going nuclear. Chill.
Though, on that topic, Penny isn't gonna be like "LET'S HACK INTO THE GOVERNMENT FOR FUNSIES" because she knows that's a bad idea. The only reason she hacked into the League Point system was to give the MC LP for taking down Team Star bosses. She wasn't doing it out of malicious intent.
And she even STATED that she herself should get more of an extreme punishment. This is more a fault of the game for letting her get away rather than Penny herself saying she should get away with this.
![Tumblr media](https://64.media.tumblr.com/b112665eaba60dc88997f1692ad228d6/021caee4d4c53d70-5a/s540x810/4e5d08403f48ee2d040dd68e9570b99695042ee1.jpg)
In short, you're allowed to hate a character. But exaggerating what they did without showing the context of it all, it just makes you look bad.
If you find the original post, please don't harass them. That isn't okay.
watching the rain
One last thing before I actually focus on DxP loool have a little mental health break with us & a relaxing rainy Pokemon playlist by shadowatnoon 🌧️
youtube
The rest of this post might be upsetting if topics like mental health, depression, or trauma are sensitive ones to you. If that’s you, maybe stop here, & just watch the rain with us (& take care of yourself, okay?) 🩵
.
.
.
.
.
So. “What now?”
For a lot of us, the world feels very scary right now. I’ve been going back & forth between wanting to hide & wanting to take action. The current atmosphere is familiar in a bad way, just as familiar as the ones who’re making it feel this unsafe. At least I’m not alone this time. I’d like to help anyone feeling alone now to not be, too.
With that in mind, I figured maybe it could be helpful if I shared some things that helped me when things were unsafe &/or unstable in my life.
If that sounds like something you may want or need right now for whatever reason, get comfy - I, uh, spent waaay more time than I planned to on this (been sitting in my drafts for days) 🫖
—
Decide you are going to make it through this
Right now, every day, & especially during those dark, starless nights.*
You have the right to exist & be happy. You have the right to live how you want, with whom you want, & you deserve the safety & security to live that life. That is your basic human right. So keep going. Keep living the best you can, even if your best is just “enough”.
*If you ever feel unsafe or self-destructive, reach out to someone safe - family, a friend, your therapist, 988 (the national crisis lifeline), or whoever can help you best in that moment. While it can be scary or embarrassing, you’re worth it 🩵
Stay grounded in the truth
Always hold onto who you are & what you know to be true. Always.
I really believe this was ultimately what got me out of the bad situations I was trapped in. Even when I was at the point when I constantly blamed myself or believed every awful thing I was taught about myself & the world, there was always a small part of me that still knew, “No. That’s not true. This isn’t right.”
This can take a lot of mental fortitude, especially if there’s an unsafe person trying to challenge your truth or identity, or if they are actively doing what they can to gaslight you (& your peers so they can pass their behavior off as acceptable, even “right”). If you find yourself in a spot where it’s not safe to freely be yourself, remember: so long as there’s a part of you that holds onto the truth, you can make it.
So hold onto that, even if it makes you confused, or so angry you feel sick - it’s confusing because reality doesn’t match up with the truth, & it makes you angry because it’s unjust that it doesn’t. No matter what people say, the sky is still blue.
Detox your contacts
Depending on who it is, this is going to SUCK, but I can absolutely promise you this: your relief will outweigh your grief. Every single time I’ve said goodbye to toxic / unsafe people, places, communities, etc. I was always happier for it in the end.
Could be as simple as setting reasonable boundaries (if you don’t know what boundaries are as once I didn’t, it’s basically your human right to say “no” & have personal space), or if they’ve proven they will not respect your boundaries, saying goodbye until / unless they will.
There are some you can’t make that healthy separation right now - maybe you’re a minor or dependent adult in a toxic home, or you don’t have another job lined up from your toxic one yet. Whatever your situation is, this where you try to keep things on your terms as much as you can, & do whatever you can to ensure your immediate well-being as you make any boundaries or exit plans as needed for your long term well-being.
I’ve been hearing a lot of stories of people uninviting folks (or themselves) from the upcoming holidays. Been there. If you find yourself having to spend it with limited / no company: it can be lonely at first, but it can also be really nice when I looked for ways to celebrate anyways (dive into all the nice things about the season, have a little Friendsgiving, or just have a cozy one at home) ^_^
Find safe people (but be careful)
I said in a post not long ago that unsafe people often try to isolate you so you feel all alone. It’s easy to feel alone when bad things are happening - that’s why it’s important to have safe people to turn to when they happen. Especially now, we need to be there for each other. 🩵
Here’s the “be careful” part: not all of your safe people will be able to be there for you in every kind of moment. Most are just your buddies you can laugh & play with, forget your worries for a while as you talk about the weather. Some can listen to your troubles & worries, offering whatever comfort or advice they can. Very few can be there with you when you’re IN the trouble, & stand by you as needed.
Depending on how vulnerable you are, it can be very easy to cling to the wrong one, which can be embarrassing at best, very unsafe at worst. Wait. Take a breath. Sleep on it if you have to. Take as much time as you need to assess if they’re the one to be with you in whatever way you need.
I can’t tell you how much easier it’s been for me to keep going no matter how bad things got with even one safe person to turn to. When you’ve found that person, be sure to treasure them! 🩵🩵🩵
Enjoy life whenever you can! ^0^
In times like this, it’s so important to remember that there ARE still good things, good people, good places in this world. We need to make time for these good things, even if just for a few minutes.
So dive into your hobbies, keep your passions alive! Hang out with your friends, play Pokémon, draw, read, write, swim, play with your pet. Dust off the instruments you’ve been neglecting, have an awful jam sesh, laugh about it, & keep playing until it sounds kinda okay! If you don’t have a hobby, find one - it can be a lot of fun to discover what you like! Whatever is in your means that makes you feel happy & alive, do that
The thing I’ve always turned to the most is drawing - I have all these old diaries & sketchbooks from when I was a kid of just doodles & comics. My school notebooks all the way up to college have margins full of drawings - doodling helped me stay in the present. Then I started posting them online over the years, made some friends, & here we are! ^7^
—
I can appreciate that this advice isn’t perfect, & it may not fit your exact circumstances. That’s okay - if there’s even just one good thing you can take from this, then I’m happy.
To anyone who might be struggling right now & feel hopeless: thank you so much for being here! I am overjoyed that you are still here with us, even when you had days, weeks, even years when all you wanted to do was give up (I know). Keep living. Keep smiling whenever you can. Keep reaching out. Keep weathering that storm, even when no one else can hear it thundering over you. I’ve found that when I kept going, it’ll clear up…usually before you realize it. 🌦️🌈
Stay safe out there. Lots of love,
Anastasia (aka Ansy) 🩵
#pokemon#rain#mental health#tw trauma#tw cptsd#tw depression#hope#personal#i love my plush team so much#their little faces make me smile#also it’s “AH-nah-STAH-see-ah” lol#“AHN-see” in case anyone was wondering - Ansy doesn’t rhyme with “pansy” XD
Some history facts with Prof. Elsie!
Hey! The name's Elsie, and I'm a history professor at Harmonia University! I specialize in human history, but I'm pretty passionate about history in general so I guess the Askblog Council came to me with all these questions from you guys, heh heh!
You probably saw me a while ago anonymously answering a few of these questions. But I think I'm brave enough now to show my face to everyone and be an official member of the Blog! I believe these questions were asked a while ago, but now I have the time to answer them so...well I guess I should address them eh?
What can you tell us about humans?
Well I think I've mentioned before, and it's probably obvious just by looking around, but they're nonexistent here! They did exist at one point, we were all living harmoniously together...until some unfortunate circumstances that led to a big war between humans and Pokemon. From then on, humans began to disappear and then just...completely vanished, without any warning.
Was it ever stated how all the humans disappeared? Is it simply an extinction event or more of a supernatural thing?
That's a pretty big topic in today's history research actually! After the war, although the Pokemon won by a landslide, there were still a good amount of humans left. Although the roles shifted a little bit, as before Pokemon were often companions to humans, almost like a pet...but now we were more independent. Living among them as civilians.
The complete disappearance is truly an enigmatic event that is a big debate among experts nowadays! Some associate it with a giant meteor shower - the biggest one seen in history that wiped out humans, as us Pokemon are quite durable. There's also been recounts of a blinding, soul crushing flashing beam of light that wiped them all out. Either way, life was becoming more unsustainable for humans as things evolved to fit Pokemon-kind more...that probably accelerated things. But from how fast it happened and the fact that the event was very poorly documented...there's more reason to believe that someTHING supernatural caused it.
What are your thoughts on humans as a whole? How do you feel about their unfortunate fate?
My family was always very close with humans. I've only heard great things about them, and all the cool stories of how my family, against all odds, won the biggest battles in international leagues and tournaments, all thanks to a trainer that knew how to make a small, weakling species like ours, very strong! I grew up with a very positive outlook on humans, and it makes me really sad that things ended the way they did. Like I said earlier, we wouldn't be here if it weren't for the humans. That's probably what led me down this path, honestly. Haha!
What's the geography of the world like? How has the geography changed since the human times?
The humans were in the midst of restructuring and renaming the regions in the world. To make them more...friendly sounding I guess. Certain areas also wanted to be their own thing...so that's where regions like Unova and Alola come from.
When the humans were wiped out, this was an unfinished project that Pokemonkind were determined to finish. Physically, the world is the same. But how everything is divided is probably different from what you're used to.
The region that Harmonia University is in - Arboria - although one of the biggest regions in the world, remained in one piece, somehow! Our downstairs neighbour got split into a few parts...Unova and Alola, as Ive mentioned, and some of the desert areas became known as the Orre region.
Another example where things are different...the Freyurr region! This was comprised of 3 different regions before - collectively known as Scandinavia. After the human extinction, this region became one with 3 distinct areas with their own language and culture.
What happened to Pokeball technology? It seems like it could be dangerous, but on the other hand it could be useful - especially for transportation! And it's low cost, low space, I'm surprised I haven't seen any evidence of the technology being converted for modern use.
Pokeballs are pretty much nonexistent nowadays, near impossible to get your hands on as a normal civilian! It was one of the biggest things that the Pokemon back then had a gripe about with the humans. Although not completely inhabitable, living in a Pokeball was very unpleasant - it's basically like being put into a very deep slumber, for who knows how long. Not much room to do anything or move around in there. Plus, many humans caught and collected tons of Pokemon with no rhyme or reason - many of them were left abandoned in Pokeballs and PC’s, never being able to see the light of day.
Other than for research and education purposes, Pokeballs have been banned all around the world ever since Pokemon civiliazation was born. We don’t even use them to capture our own ferals.
I've heard rumors that humans had experimented with themselves to turn into Pokemon before, but I'm assuming it's all just a myth. Was there ever a possibility that some of the humans ended up becoming Pokemon due to their experiments?
Pah, I'm pretty sure that was all a hoax. I'm sure humans have tried, but honestly they didn't make any breakthroughs in that front. I don't think human genetics were wired in a way that would even make that possible. They were able to kind of do it with Pokemon due to there being a particular species with properties that could allow it. But humans to Pokemon...nah that'd be a complete rewrite of everything! Or maybe...a really fun dream.
Do the Galar fossil Pokemon exist? How do fossil Pokemon work, are they revived or have they just always been around?
Yep, they do exist. But there's a bit of a catch...all of the fossil-revived species living today were revived during the human era, or are descendants of those that were. We've had to abolish a lot of those fossil revival labs, as newly found fossils would just come out as feral Pokemon with really nowhere to go. Now there are some such Pokemon in captivity, but it's strictly for ethical research purposes!
Anyways, I think that's all the questions that were left over for me! Hope that was informative. Our history isn't pretty but I think it's still really important to learn about it all. Haha! Well, if any of you still have questions, or just want to come chat with me...I'll be available!
I love pecharunt soo much..could u do headcanons for a poison type trainer caring for Pecharunt and Pecharunt loving his new trainer? (Reader gives Pecharunt a new loving home!) 🥺 Maybe some thoughts on the Paldea squad still not trusting Pecharunt (maybe sum jealous Arven bc reader is paying more attention to the pokemon instead of him.?)
Obviously, Pecharunt tried to stay closed-off after what happened between him and his original caretakers.
His quest to satisfy their ever-growing wishes soon led to tragedy..and he didn't wanna suffer through that again.
So after waking up he turns the whole town of Mossui against you and your friends, not wanting to let anyone in.
But in his eyes you seemed determined to make him feel as miserable as possible..especially as you sent Okidogi, Fezandpiti, and/or Munkidori against him after defeating Nemona.
The betrayal stung, seeing his former friends who died to protect him from Ogerpon now siding with humans and attacking him.
After being caught and lifting the town's "curse", he feels humbled, hiding away in his shell even as you introduce him to the rest of your team:
One made of poison types.
Although most of them looked scary and seemed difficult to care for, you learned how to tend to their needs without getting yourself hurt by their toxins, and that made your bonds with them grow stronger by the day.
You hoped to achieve something similar with Pecharunt, knowing it'll be a challenge but willing to try.
He was reclusive around your party members, but not you.
In fact, he quickly grew to love having you as his trainer, yet he was convinced that making mochi was the only way to secure that connection with you--and that if he couldn't win every battle, you'd think he was weak and abandon him.
But you knew that 8x weakness of his would be a problem, and even with an impressive defense..losses were inevitable, and you'd have to calm him down whenever he throws a fit over losing or if you refuse to send him into a fight you knew he won't win.
You eventually learn his story (and why the Loyal Three meant so much to him) through some old texts Kieran's grandparents lent you, and after reading them you just give him a hug and say "I'm sorry."
That's all you said.
It was so simple, yet enough to make Pecharunt cry and realize you would unconditionally love him and give him a permanent home. No mochi necessary. He had nothing to fear.
Of course, though, even after you share all of this and his growth with your Paldean friends, they still warn you to be careful around him.
Arven was more upset about being forced to do a stupid dance than being forced to battle you, still giving the mythical 'mon the cold shoulder every time he sees you two hanging around.
"You embarrassed me in front of my best friend..don't think I'll forget that." He always remarks while Mabosstiff gives him the side eye(tm).
You, however, know he's just getting jealous of you giving more attention to some Pokémon (like a certain legendary dragon) than him and tease him about it.
Of course, Pecharunt is still up to his mischievous ways: he'll mess around with Arven by snuggling up to you, sneaking mochi into his sandwiches, and just being a little shit in general.
Are you fully aware of this? Yes.
Will you stop it? Probably not. It's amusing.
#pecharunt is baby full stop#ive been meaning to draw him too but until then here's this <3#clanask#anonymous#pokemon x reader#pokemon sv x reader#pokemon scarlet x reader#pokemon violet x reader#pecharunt#headcanons
After spending most of the day just drawing for it, I am excited to introduce my take on the Zorua/Zoroark submas au concept!
I haven’t decided on a title for it and the Google doc is just called “Zoro-character ark” but I do have many thoughts about it. The ways it differs from other Zoroark aus is that a) it is one of the ones where both twins are pokemon and b) they are an incredibly rare phenomenon where their human appearances aren’t illusions but are instead actual fully developed forms that are indistinguishable from a regular human in almost every way. They were found in the forest as human children and taken in by Drayden and had to learn how to access and control their pokemon forms later in life.
Emmet was the first to accidentlly discover what he actually is but Ingo proved that neither was fully human not long after. They have three kinds of forms as described in these VERY quickly made guide sketches
Other than that, which just outlines the base world the au takes place in, any of the au I write would focus on Hisui and/or post reunion. In Hisui, during a terrible storm near the cliffs that overlook the sea, Ingo ordered his Pokémon to prioritize getting themselves to saftey and ends up dying. His pokemon find him as a Hisuian Zorua very quickly, before he is really conscious, and take him in. When he becomes strong and healthy enough to regain access to his human form (he thankfully still has one) he excuses the many months of absence as getting caught up in bad weather. Only Akari ever learns that he isn’t only human in Hisui and she meets him a months after he has already convinced everyone that he never died so she doesn’t know that hewas ever different. The only other creatures he speaks to in Hisui, his pokemon and charge, already know the story- knew what happened to him before even he did. Due to this, he never had to really think about or explain what happened to him. When he gets back to modern day and his family, he avoids as many situations where he would otherwise shift as possible before finally running out of excuses (and his pokemon’s patience). He didn’t want to acknowledge what happened and he feared that learning of his fate would make it harder for his family to look at him but being able to be himself around them again and gaining help on carrying the burden turns out to be verrrrry much so worth it.
Here are the rest of the sketches/information pages I have so far, focusing on their adult designs/life. I hope you’ve enjoyed looking at this au and hope to write or draw more for it in the future.
I see no one has yet asked about the rest of the cast for the pokemon au, so it is my duty to do so! So, what were the choices for Mirabelle's, Odile's, and Bonnie's pokemon? I'm also interested in how you picked the different occupations for the cast :0
(referencing this post)
I explained my choices for Mirabelle, Odile and Bonnie in another ask to keep these not TOO long, and will use your ask to talk, about the human cast's occupations instead!!
Siffrin
Ok so Pokemon rangers are a bit of an odd job. They're basically there to solve problems in general? Whether it's a forest fire or pokemons unfairly getting attacked by stronger pokemons, if they can help, they will! What's unique with them is that they use a device that basically temporarily captures pokemons, making them docile and willing to use their powers for you (and calm them down in case of violent behaviour). Once you make them use a move though, they're free to go!
As such, Siffrin doesn't have a team of his own. Clefable is the exception because that's their starter! (I figured Cleffa would be one of the preferred starters in The Country) And there's also a Cubone that decided to follow him around on its own volition. Siffrin eventually captures it when he realises that it's not going to leave lmao
Loop
Pokemon coordinators specialize in pokemon beauty contests! They make special foods that increase beauty stats and overall try to create move combinations that look pretty to impress the judges. Both pokemon and coordinator have to participate in the choreography, too! When they win a contest, they receive a ribbon, and once they have 5 in one region, they can compete in that region's Big Contest where they may win the ribbon cup, giving them the title of Top Coordinator!
I decided that in this AU, Sif and Loop are twins, both coming from The Country. Loop had a Cleffa as a starter too! But Something Happened (don't ask) and nowadays, they travel with their beloved Gengar! They also have a (shiny) Minior because I wanted to make the joke of Loop having intrusive thougts about eating a star lmao
Mirabelle
Coordinator too! She and Loop met during a contest in Vaugarde and now they're besties fr fr. Even when one of them gets eliminated in the first round, they cheer for the other to win! One time they were the finalists and when Mirabelle won Loop was the first to cheer heehee (they knew she'd feel BAD for them so they decided beforehand that they Wouldn't Take It Badly for her sake)
Isabeau
Just your classic Trainer going around the region to beat its gym leaders, get the bagdes and eventually beat the league! I'd imagine he never got around to do it, even though it's supposed to be like, a milestone in a teen's life, but he's glad he can go on his journey now! During his travels though, he might slowly lose interest and discover a new passion for clothing (helping Mirabelle and Loop make their costumes is so fun!)
Odile
Professors are supposed to research various things about pokemons and give out starters to kids when they start their travels. So what is this professor doing on the road?? She'll never tell. Stop trying to guess. She does possess a wealth of pokemon knowledge tho, and has a complete pokedex, something only professors are supposed to have.
Bonnie
Grew up on a pokemon farm/daycare and wants to become a pokemon caretaker like Nille! (pokemon breeder in english, but i prefer the french version of the title lmao) Caretakers are basically specialised in Pokemon care, finding the healthiest foods, the optimal amount of exercise etc Bonnie's given an egg in lieu of a starter because they're still too young but they want a pokemon so bad that Nille caved lmao Though despite their age, they're already very competent in taking care of pokemons, so this egg will hatch no problem! As of what it will hatch into uuuh idk, shinx probably since that's what i made Bonnie's poekmon form as lmao
Hello & I've been reading the Platinum Clan & other writings and it's pretty amazing & i love it
If its okay to do a ror x reader? Yandere Hades x Reader the Platinum clan leader
But having similar scenarios to a story of Persephone & Hades, like Ror Hades in love to Reader and plans to make her his. But Reader has close companionship/family-like relationship with other pokemon, including the legendaries & mythical, & Giratina, who's protective yet respectful and treating reader as his friend/child
Also take care & thank you in advance
-When you passed so long ago and arrived in Valhalla, you found your place just like you did while you lived, alongside Pokemon, taking care of them and providing a voice for them against the other citizens of Valhalla.
-Your Lord Giratina, being the deity of death itself, followed you there, as he can go as he pleases between the land of the living and Valhalla like most of the other gods.
-He knew you were safe here in Valhalla, but he still came to check on you quite often. Of all his devoted followers, including the leaders like you- he never knew someone quite like you- you were so devoted, but so humble at the same time. It was odd but he doted on you like you were his child, despite you being human.
-Many admired you for the work you did in Valhalla, seeing you taking care of the Pokemon, as you preferred their company to the company of other humans or gods who came to your little corner of Valhalla.
-Hades knew of Giratina, as he knew all deities of death, and he knew how powerful Pokemon could be, and seeing one that embodies death itself was quite a surprise, but he was even more surprised to see you, a simple human, petting Giratina who was laying on his belly like a giant dog, enjoying the scratches and attention you were giving him.
-Hades was curious about you, watching you from afar, seeing that you were quiet, but you were a very hard worker, tending to all the Pokemon around you, from the smallest Eevee to the mighty Giratina, it was admirable really.
-Hades grew fond of you, despite not ever speaking to you, watching you from a distance, admiring your hard work, and seeing what a dedicated person you were.
-It was Giratina who approached Hades first, a deep growl in his throat, thinking that Hades was thinking of threatening you, but when he found no malice, he just sat there, glaring down at the Greek god, wanting to know why he was constantly watching his child.
-You knew that Hades was watching you, it wasn’t an uncommon thing, as many were curious about Pokemon, and you believed that’s what he was looking at, the Pokemon. But you could feel his gaze on you, it was like he was looking at your soul, which unnerved you a bit.
-However, it was a surprise to you when he approached you, taking your hand in his own, lifting it to peck the back of your hand, making your eyes widen as you hadn’t expected it.
-Hades was polite, telling you that he admired you and wished for you to become his partner, having fallen for you. You could only blink in surprise, hearing this before you finally spoke, “So you’re the weirdo that’s been watching me?”
-Hades sputtered in surprise, “Weirdo?!” you nodded, not at all bothered as you turned, holding your hand out and several ghost Pokemon appeared, all of them calling out, “These friends have been telling me that you’ve been watching me for a while. Since you never came over to speak with me- you’re a weirdo.”
-Hades couldn’t help but smile, seeing you spoke your mind, but he apologized for not coming over to you beforehand and being a… weirdo, and watching you from afar.
-You invited him to join you for lunch, a picnic, willing to talk to him, as you wanted to get to know him before you made any big decisions about marrying him, which did make him smile softly.
-Hades could feel the heated stare of Giratina, the silent threat that the Pokemon was giving to him, if he were to ever hurt you or try anything funny. Giratina knows all and even Hades wouldn’t be safe from his wrath.
Note: For the sake of differentiation, Nico's text will be bold, while Randy's will not.
If there's any trouble telling anyone else apart, let me know, and I'll see what I can do to make it clearer.
Also it is. VERY long. So to the Read More zone it goes!
Enjoy. :)
~~~~~~
The Mews-in-human-form and Nico stepped carefully around the debris of the mansion floor. Lav, who had their bag on her human form, had transformed so they could grab a flashlight out of it. Now she had returned to Mewtwo form and floated around excitedly, taking in the sight of the neglected remains of Nico's birthplace.
Randy held the light in his left hand, while his right tightly gripped his cane. Akoya walked close to his side, her hands in her jacket pockets.
Daddy, stop shining at the floor! I wanna see what's around!
Not until your mom transforms and I don't have to worry about her stepping on something.
I'll be fine, Love! I can handle a few pebbles here and th--YEAHK!
She suddenly hopped away from Randy, inspecting her foot. Randy gave her a snide look.
Fine. She rolled her eyes before shifting. A split-second flash later, she was a Mew. She hovered over and draped herself on Randy's shoulder.
Content that his wife would no longer step on things, he looked at Lav. Here, Hon. You can hold this if you want. Seeing that he had her attention, he tossed the light her way. She telekinetically caught it and brought it to her hands.
Thanks Daddy! She smiled as she went around the room with the light. Nico followed after her, and Randy trudged behind.
Nico... Lav spoke after looking at charred walls, flooring, and rubble around them. Is this the place you destroyed? The one from that memory that woke me up?
It is, yes...
Akoya chimed in from her perch. It's a wonder nobody's bothered to fix it up after all this time.
Well, the volcano eruption kinda got in the way of that. I guess nobody saw any point afterword...
Randy glanced upward, wracked by a sudden chill. It feels like the ceiling could come down at any moment...
Akoya nuzzled her husband's cheek. We'll teleport out if anything happens, Love.
Still feeling shaken, Randy raised his hand to her and brushed his fingers through her fur.
He hoped against hope that the Mewtwos--especially Nico--couldn't sense just how right Akoya had been.
He needed her support.
And not the way his cane could provide.
This place filled him with dread. It was too... familiar... Every once in a while he caught a whiff of smoke and burned things. He could just make out the cracks in the ceilings and walls. He heard the occasional faint creaking of the dilapidated building.
He was almost glad it was too dark to see clearly.
The pain in his legs hadn't let up since they came here. He did his best to hide it from the 'twos, but he know it was futile to hide it from the little blue cat on his shoulder
She clearly knew.
And he endlessly appreciated it.
They walked along, chatting and looking through the debris. There were a lot of books in there, but most were burned beyond recognition or reading, or just boring scientific observations and notes. Wild Pokemon skittered about, too frightened by the strange intruders to engage with them.
Lav picked up yet another book and skimmed through it.
Oh!
Randy looked at her as she approached him. He could feel her buzzing with excitement.
She handed the book to him. It's Mr. Fuji's!
A spark of curiosity coursed through him as he took the book. Nico came over, his eyes shining in the gloom. He read over Randy's shoulder.
Wow... He flipped slowly through its pages. It... it goes through your growth, Nico...
Nico tilted his head, eyes filled with an almost child-like shimmer. Cool!
He flinched back as Randy handed the book up to him. Here. It's about you, so you should have it.
After looking at it for a moment, Nico shook his head and gently pushed it away. No. It's Fuji's. You should take it back to him when you return.
After a moment, Randy gave a smile and a slight nod before stuffing it into a pants pocket.
They continued their impromptu tour of the mansion.
Eventually...
They came to the back portion.
The floors and walls had sustained significant amounts of damage. Walls crumpled to the floor, creating larger rooms than once were. The floors had large holes, leading down into the basement below. Light streamed in from gaps in the ceiling.
Akoya floated off Randy's shoulder. How 'bout that! A shortcut to the basement~
As they all started heading into the nearest hole, Randy transformed without a second thought... until he noticed Nico looking at him in somber shock.
Randy know what he was thinking, and gave him a sad look.
So... that's... what my dad looked like, huh?
Randy's eyes grew somehow more weary than they were. ...Pretty much, yeah... He never looked this exhausted though...
The basement was worse off than the floor above, dimly lit by the sunlight. It was clear walls once stood, but now the area was just one large room, with a few pillars-that-were-once-walls being the only support for the tattered building above.
Along the back wall of the basement...
Was a set of cylindrical tanks.
The group hovered over to them, not wanting to step on the sharp debris on the floor.
Shattered glass and old dust carpeted the area. A small keypad protruded from the front of the center tank, and two more of the tubes stood behind on either side, and forward of those were two large computer casings.
The area was stained with old burn marks, while plant life had grown in. It was almost serene, lit by the rays of persistent sunlight.
Randy floated over to the skeletal tanks.
...Mo has been here...
Randy...
The long Mew turned to Nico.
Can... Can I ask you something...?
Did... Did Mo ever talk about me?
Randy took a moment to think.
...I think he wanted to...
Akoya looked at him questioningly.
Right b-before... He shut his eyes, trembling, trying to break free of his dread.
Oop.

From this post. I want to show everyone my Darkrai in Twisted Wonderland! This is some of my plot and idea about that!
....Yeah, I just turned a maniac pokemon into a cinnamon-roll-boy who full of anxious-
I know that PMD Darkrai isn't a shiny, but his sprite used these colors so I used it too. If you wonder why his eyes color before/after came to Twisted Wonderland are different, I'm gonna tell you later.
Anyway, from what I said in the last post. After he (because in PMD used he/him, so I will use it accordingly) got attack by Palkia while he trying to escape, Darkrai losing his memories and end up in Twisted Wonderland as a human.
By the words "losing his memories", it's mean almost everything. It's like how Player end up as a Pokemon with no memory in the game, they know what is Pokemon, what is human and many things, but still can't remember many things either. In Darkrai's case, he can't remember his name or his old life, but still can remember what is pokemon. He knows that he was a Pokemon not a human. He just can't remember which one of Pokemon is he or how he turned into a human. His memory and his personality was reset almost to the zero.
Darkrai woke up in a dark and cramped coffin, a feeling of discomfort and pain spread throughout his body.
Why is he in the coffin??? Who put him in the coffin!? -wait- is that a flame!?
This poor amnesic boy started panicking when he saw blue flames emanating from the coffin lid, he immediately kicked the coffin lid out with all his strength.
Grim was an unlucky one who standing in front of the coffin in that moment.
The first thing Darkrai thought when he met Grim was: What kind of pokemon is this kid? (Meowth? Espurr?? Litten???).
But after the first encounter between Grim and Darkrai, it was followed by death threats from Grim. Darkrai run away and Grim chasing him for the robe which he was wearing right now-but he can't remember how he got it.
Darkrai accidentally used his power to cross the shadows when dodging Grim's flames for the first time, and he didn't even notice.
Darkrai, who had just escaped from the angry cat-like pokemon(?), gasping for breath while confused what just happened, and realized something when he saw his reflection.
He is human...
But he not supposed to be human
He don't know how, but he knew that he shouldn't be a human. He was a pokemon!
...He might not sure which species he was, but he sure that he was a pokemon before.
Time for panic and fear when he realized he had no memory and was now being chased in a strange place.
Darkrai met headmage Crowley, he saved him from Grim and tried to take him to the orientation ceremony.
It didn't help him so much when he tried to explain his situation to Crowley, and of course! he doesn't listen...
And when Darkrai standing before the mirror of darkness, in the eyes of many people who were staring at him at that moment. This happened.
'State your name'
"I-I can't..."
'Louder!'
"I'm sorry! I can't remember my name!"
Sounds of confusion and question sounded around him. Darkrai was really uncomfortable with all of this. But the Dark Mirror still read his soul to assigned him in some dorm.
...if that can happen.
'The nature of your soul is...' '.........unclear to me' 'It's so dark...this soul is too dark for me to read it. I can't sense magical power from this one. Soundless. Colorless. Shapeless. Utterly vacant. Therefore, no dorm would be appropriate.'
Crowley began to cry out in disbelief that the black carriage receive a person who cannot even use magic (but Darkrai didn't came here by the black carriage...). Grim demanded that he can be a student here instead Darkrai.
Annnnd You know what happened next.
The Chamber of Mirror set on fire. One student had flames on his robe. Now everything is in chaos and out of control.
Darkrai was stressed, he feel not safe, he had a headache, he wanted to get out of here right now.
'I don't know if I thought of it or not... But I felt that the pain on my body was growing more and more as my headache....'
After they manage to capturing Grim, it wasn't long before Darkrai can given Crowley any excuses or clarifications. He collapsed to the ground and fainted in front of everyone.
And when Riddle go to check on him…
"Headmage! He's bleeding right now!"
It was the time for everyone's turn to panic as they rushed to take him to the infirmary. We have a no-magical student who is bleeding and seriously injured right here! Get out of the way!
(I don't belive that being thrown across dimensions from the attacked of God of Space-Time would not left anything behind. Of course, he must have suffered some injuries, and it's not just a little wound too.)
Grim still here with Crowley with Riddle's collar on his neck. The only reason he hasn't been throw out is because our headmage still believes that he is Darkrai's familliar.
What a messy ceremony.
This poor boy is very confused and panicked, his stress will only get worse because of all the Overblots and his own problems in the future.
