melanie's relationship to the slaughter is interesting for many reasons, but one of them is how very little she seems to neither enjoy nor be tortured by it. the main difference between slaughter and desolation is how personal it is, and that's reflected in their avatars - all desolation avatars seems to on some level enjoy the pain they cause. but beyond that, most avatars get something out of their status, like how jon says he likes some of the power and knowledge he gets, or how daisy likes the purpose of the hunt. even those who have nothing positive to say, like oliver, act more like a victim to their entity instead, where they themselves and their pain and fear are actully feeding it. but melanie always seems to speak about the slaughter like it merely numbs her. like, at least during her time as an avatar, there's no space for enjoyment nor fear nor any other emotion beyond anger. and i really like that, because once again, the slaughter is impersonal. we hardly ever get an actual description of the perpetrator in slaughter statements. it reduces someone from person into weapon

Actually, fun fact, one of my moms friends always called me a changeling when i was a kid :D teasingly, it was smth to do w my hair. No actual negative historic intent. Is it just me or does Tamara Rojo give off bad vibes? I think a lot of good dancers like Dronina, Kochetkova and Cojocaru left ENB because of her and I heard that she was hard to work with. I also read something that she and Cojocaru were rivals when they were dancing and aren’t on good terms with each other? The fact that Rojo also has a personal relationship AND HAD A CHILD with Isaac Hernandez, who is 17 years younger than her, also bothers me, but at least they’re consenting adults. I still think it’s impressive how she was able to have a child in her late 40s, even though that’s favoritism right there.

I know (not personally) someone who attended my old school, went to SFB’s school, and is now an apprentice at National Ballet of Canada maybe because they didn’t want to deal with Rojo?

Let's just say the vibes are as bad as they seem. Talented dancer but I can't say I support a lot of her choices.

It’s insane how Mary stayed six months out of the world after Matthew’s death. She wasn’t herself during half of a year, only thinking about him and how lost she is without his company. The parallel between the bride dress and the black dress only shows the melancholic state that Mary was feeling, transfering her into a lost sadness mother. We know that if Mary had died and not Matthew he would have been the same exact way as she was.
