ohmigosh i just discovered this game today and i have fallen SO in love with it!!! and warden- loml already omg. ngl he was a little terrifying with the door thing (if i ever tried to slam the door on some man who was relentlessly knocking on my door at night in a sketch neighborhood and he CAUGHT the door and forced it open i think i would think it was about to be my last day on earth....) but it just adds to his charm now that we know hes actually adorable! i love the direct flirting options, but i was also wondering, will we be able to be similarly oblivious? or would that just result in neither of them doing anything haha? okay and i know this is a lot im just besotted rn by this game feel free to ignore but also will we be able to be affectionate early on? i love playing characters that are super affectionate but also sort of oblivious, and imagining that with warden's character is just sort of hilarious to me! if thats not really something that happens in the game, how would warden react to a very affectionate MC? I am endeavoring to put in both shy options and charm options! .... And dumb, wildly inappropriate pick-up lines, cuz that's what I'm all about.

My philosophy is that, generally, you'll have to pick a 'genre' of choices MULTIPLE times before it really sticks. This applies most to "bad" choices, where you might say something to offend or hurt a character - by design, the game should give you some grace if you only pick them once or twice (like by mistake or... morbid curiosity), but hurling 5+ insults at someone won't be considered an accident.

Likewise, if I remember to, I may have some "oblivious" choices that you'll have to pick multiple times to, uh... make it so that romance just doesn't happen. Too oblivious, rip. But picking them once or twice should be okay.

However, if you pick a hard boundary choice that's like "Hey, I'm not interested" that only needs to be said once. I might put in a subsequent option to change your mind though. Idk. I kinda code choices based on vibes.

As for being affectionate very early on... ..... I mean, I'll probably put those in. But they might not be received well. 😂 Depends who's on the receiving end, right?

For example, I did already write a missable kiss scene for Griffin... but can I make a scene like that work for anybody else..? Probably not.. we'll see... I only have so much power.....

I appreciate your calm-the-fuck-down post a lot, ngl - from following you, I've seen you have a pretty good handle on understanding what ToS does and doesn't say, and are good at explaining the difference - and I was hoping you could give some insight on whether or not the actually clicking the 'I agree to terms of service' button (note: multi-step process) required to turn off the New! flag makes a difference in the level of data collected - I would expect at the very least it would act as a gateway for whether or not user data is shared with the third party integration, but legalese isn't my field of study.

Agreeing to the ToS to get the little notification thing to turn off would allow tumblr live to share the data that it collects with 3rd party apps and would allow tumblr live to collect location data from your device whether or not you are actively using the app; whether you want to do this is up to you. I do generally recommend having location tracking shut off at a device level, which makes this data collection pretty useless, but I recognize that most people don't have location tracking turned off on their phones.

*HOWEVER*

People are talking about doing this to turn off the New! flag (which IS very annoying) but the most recent post from @changes makes it clear that that is an ongoing bug they are working on; Tumblr has been pretty decent recently about following up on the info they post about on the changes blog and I see no reason to believe that they won't get that bug fixed pretty quickly.

Rather than agree to the ToS I would suggest waiting a few days because I very much doubt that will stick around for long.

And this is not directed at you but I want to use this ask to point to another recent example of tumblr conspiracism: people are seeing the "new" flag as tumblr attempting to force users to agree to the live ToS even as they have offered a longer snooze period and saying that one negates the other - this is being interpreted as malice and a dark pattern and user hostile design.

And I just want to remind people that some time between eight months and a year and a half ago the notifications changed and it was briefly impossible to clear the new flag on the notification button - this is an issue that we've seen tumblr have before with "new" flags after they changed a feature. It's something that people yelled about and sent around guides for blocking the element. It's something that was addressed quickly and was done unintentionally.

I really wish people would stop attributing to malice the bullshit that happens at tumblr that is clearly the result of this website being hilariously broken and held together with hope and chewing gum.

There are ways in which this site is broken that does genuine harm and I'm willing to be cautiously optimistic that the new staff crew is taking steps to fix it (this is about blocked tags; I've been following what various staff members say about this and I have seen small positive steps, staff does seem to be making an effort to unfuck the tags and I can respect that while still being frustrated that it's taking so long). It isn't *good* that the site is held together with chewing gum and hope but it does seem like staff is at least trying to add some popsicle sticks and duct tape to that mix.

The new flag is annoying and I hope they get it fixed quickly and I believe they actually will get it fixed quickly; if you're really bothered by it there's not much harm in accepting the live ToS because the data collected by tumblr live is still pretty minimal compared to most other social media apps, but from a paranoid "fuck all this bullshit" perspective accepting the Live TOS doesn't do much harm at all if you have location data off on your devices (which I think everyone should) and use adblockers (which I think everyone should).

I think a lot about Brakmar. There's a reason I like it so much. Dofus MMO mentions that some people are too poor to leave... Wakfu series implies that Maude stays for the sake of her career, or because she feels that this way she might help other women.

Even if it's not the best, neither is Bonta. Brakmar is a home to many people, some of them kind, some of them not so much. And I think it's realistic that people would choose to live there and genuinely love this city.

Best Magical Girl Villain - Round 1

Battamonda: Ngl when Battamonda first joined the show, he was kinda whatever to me. Self absorbed twink bad guy, we've seen it just last series before...but then he got fired. Usually this is it for a villain, and we don't see them anymore because they got replaced with another bad guy. But Hirogaru Sky played it smart, and kept Battamonda for later. He has such a grudge against the Pretty Cures, but also because he's technically fired, he can't technically afford to go back to his villain group without any results, so now he has to live in a cheap Apartment (unknowingly next to his Former evil collegue) and slop away working in construction or sth. This leads to the funniest hirogaru Sky moments like him parodying the cures in his evil plans, or the icon that is Cure Pumpkin, but also to one of the most powerful moments in this season imo. Due to his failure in life, Battamonda starts viewing himself like if he isn't useful to anyone, he might as well be completely worthless and lets his pain out on Cure Prism. Of course that hits her pretty heavy, but in the end, she manages to rescue Battamonda for real, by making it clear that the only one who is allowed to decide your worth is yourself. Concluding not only Battamonda's Arc, but semi concluding Prism's Arc as well. Battamonda is great, not only because he turned out to be hilarious, but also because of him, we got to have such a powerful message in two of the character's arcs.

i finished s4. here are my notes, and some questions (which may have already been answered in the episodes but maybe i wasnt paying enough attention sorry)

- WTF FIVE AND LILA EW

- how come they were all just gonna let lila go and be with her family but like thats diego and allison's kids too!!

- the "perfect timeline" thing at the end was DEFINITELY a metaphor for the afterlife esp bc we saw ppl who died in past seasons like grace and pogo and the handler

- but why was pogo suddenly a human he cant be a monkey in the afterlife? well i guess that was his power and no one has powers in the afterlife

- i really did hate the ending but also i have no clue how else the show couldve ended, bc this entire time its just been "the world is ending, lets just go to a different timeline!" and you cant possibly keep that going forever so it was kinda perfect

- i didnt like klaus's storyline this season at all. he deserved better

- luther was HILARIOUS this season ngl. love his character development

- viktor was the best part of the whole show but he should have just killed reginald when he had the chance (even though he technically wasnt the og reginald but still)

Hello again, I started writing this post last night, I'm going to try to keep the timeline of how the events happened so that everything makes sense Because I couldn't finish writing it at the time, because of how everything ended. I have 2 and a half hours of sleep, it has been a complete emotional roller coaster of the worst kind for us as a country.

So, yesterday, July 28, 2024...

This day has been fucking Legendary in our story, By midday there were already 9 million votes in the voting centers with a majority in the polls in "La Unidad" (the opposition party)

Voting is still happening and it is currently 7:54 pm

People were in lines since last night, at 6 AM the centers were supposed to open. There was a part of these that did not open their doors at the scheduled time due to people from the Chavista party, acting as if they had some power to deny them the exercise of their right to vote, which led to the hilarious uprising of several voters in several states, coming to fucking knock down Gates to enter schools (the usual voting centers)

It also happened that they did not let the voters in but they did activate the machines and began to insert an unreal amount of identity cards to collect false votes for the government, WHEN THE CENTERS DIDN'T EVEN OPEN, CÑLM Which resulted in cases of violence in several states of the country, people went to exercise their right and did not allow themselves to be intimidated by anyone, to the point that CEBIM officials (a military body of the country) had to interfere with the anti-riot squads to remove the government sympathizers who started the problem by not opening and now they were getting their asses kicked by the voters who didn't sit still. The people were so firm that they didn't care that a military official was trying to protect the troublemakers at the voting centers, yet they insulted them and tried to beat them, Wich, ngl was heckin hilarous.

At seven, as i mentioned people were still voting, But many voting centers had already closed tables and were already counting votes, so theoretically the elections would close no later than 9 p.m. The broadcast of the national electoral council (CNE) had already started, never a broadcast was so damn long (the last time we had an opposition candidate this close, The results came out at 1:30 AM..., so that in the end they took away his victory with fraud, so you see, it's a pattern).

They told the story of ALL the presidents who have governed the country, since the country was literally unified and even when they reached the end they said that the results would be known shortly

Outside, in the voting centers, the results were being recorded by the same citizens, they all had the majority of votes for Edmundo González by A LOT, and in almost all the states.

Here things only went from bad to worse. When voting, there is a tradition called taking care of the boxes. The boxes are those that have all the votes from the voting center to which they belong, the votes are counted in the centers in front of witnesses from the people, the results are stated and then those results are sent in minutes to the national electoral council. María Corina urged people to take care of their votes, to stay in the centers so that they could see clearly what they were doing with the boxes once the voting closed. Around 8, 9 pm the vast majority of the states had reported Edmundo as the winner, several went out to celebrate in the streets and the voters continued to wait patiently and calmly outside the voting centers.

One of the biggest political figures in our country and the biggest spoiled son of a bitch here started talking on TV From where his people were celebrating, as in all votes, their Victory without even finishing giving out the results.

And I think I knew what hate is that corrupts, burns and boils in the blood, because while that man was speaking, in one of the states where they were celebrating, the "collectives" arrived. The collectives are another military branch which is at the same time independent of the country's own militia, and that is known to be led by said political figure, they are known for committing crimes And not suffer the consequences, so when they get to a place, it doesn't mean anything good.

They killed a man, and began to attack the people who were there, and this began to happen in several states, they took the militia out into the streets, they began to fight with the people, armed soldiers against young and old women, against people who were just celebrating damn it, while the fucking son of a bitch said on television that it was a night to celebrate in peace the absolute victory of the political party

Hi, and thanks for the ask! Oh boy, do I have thoughts:

As someone who watched the series live, I kind of wish I hadn't lmao - they were both really brutal games in that the kill score was close until the very end, but the difference in laning prowess resulted in Nongshim slowly getting choked out until the games were unwinnable. The series wasn't won through strong teamfights or interesting macro - it was just Gen.G having significantly stronger fundamentals and playing a clean game. Which, good for them, but doesn't exactly make for super fun spectator sport.

I will say, however, that watching Lehends perform his signature Nautilus trick of flashing to redirect his ult is always a treat, especially when he's performing it on Ruler. The cams didn't show Ruler's reaction to that play, but I bet he was grinning to himself while gray-screened. Very few supports can pull off that mechanic, and none better than the man who invented it.

Lehends emoting back-and-forth with Chovy at the end of game 1 broke my heart, actually. The two of them are so silly, and bros let bros pad their K/D/A at the end of a won match. I think they definitely miss each other - I recently learned through a Lehends stream that Chovy's parents and Lehends's parents became friends through their sons working together, and now, if either set of parents is having trouble getting in touch with their son, they'll ask the other set of parents to ask their son for help. I absolutely love the idea of Lehends scolding Chovy for ghosting his parents and telling him to call his mom back, or on the other side, Lehends going on a bender or sleeping around like crazy and Chovy telling him when he gets back that his dad wanted to speak with him. They truly are the besties of all time.

Ofc, Chovy wasn't the only one getting emote-y - Canyon threw out an emote for like the first time in ages when he trapped Jiwoo's Zeri in the wall. I swear, this Gen.G roster is making him a lot sassier, probably by forcing him out of his shell more (I made a joke to a friend about the increase in alphas on the team making him more territorial lmao). I am here for the more assertive boo-bear, and love to see him having fun. Poor Jiwoo, though.

Finally, Ruler threw out the Rammus okay emote while chasing down Lehends's Rakan at the very end of the series, and I do find it hilarious that Chovy's the only one who got an emote back. Lehends just kept running away, and Ruler kept chasing him. I kind of feel like Lehends was disheartened by the series a bit, ngl - as I said before, both games were really brutal, and although Gen.G were the clear favorites, I think he was hoping to take at least a game off of them.

Which brings us to the grand finale: the fist-bumps. I'm sure I'm not the only one who was looking forward to watching Lehends's interactions with his former teammates following the legendary fistbump-hug-hug-hug-asspat sequence from last time. Today, he wasn't feeling it, though - after fistbumping Duro, he immediately put up his fist between Ruler and himself, signaling that he would stick to the classic post-match greeting. He didn't even really look Ruler in the eye - he did for a second, but then swallowed and looked down at his fist instead. Ruler wasn't here for that, though: of course he needed to give Siwoo a pat on the back as well while walking away. I think he wanted his hug, but respected that Siwoo needed space. And then Siwoo's little twitch of a smile after Jaehyuk couldn't see him anymore... These two are killing me. I'm sure Jihoon caught the look on Siwoo's face, though. Maybe he'll stir the pot about that later...

I did, naturally, consider writing a post-match fic for rulehends, but I opted to drop my royalty AU fic for them instead because that's been brewing ever since roster announcements and I wanted to get it out there, so hopefully that was enjoyable! I am planning to write more AU stuff for CanMaker next, since they play each other tonight and it feels like I haven't written them in ages, but that might take a few days to finish just because my fake work (what pays my bills) is busy and keeps distracting me from my real work (posting League of Legends pro-player fan fiction on AO3). I have also been thinking about One2eus again after last night's match, so maybe there's also something for them on the horizon? We shall see.

finale thoughts!!

I knew fusebox had to drop the ball at some point it just happened a lot slower than I was expecting 🤣

first off, now that I've fully rejected Theo it feels like he's missing in action again, hilariously. said it before, but they said he's like the dad of the group initially and I wish we'd have more platonic interactions with him to see that.

Hari and Hazel having Oakley and Emel esque drama God damn we should've just kept Oakley and Emel. That would actually be more interesting to me bc in character makes sense, they're always fighting but something about their last argument was the last straw and then they tearfully announce finale morning that though they care for each other they decide to break up and won't join everyone in the final to be true to themselves (basically I stole this from love island USA S4 with Nadjah and Jeff lol)

also bc I liked Hari and Hazel together I wish they could've just made it. Like they make more sense to me than Bea and Logan.

Speaking of Bea and Logan, I do think they're such a random couple. I mean, ngl it's not like the love island show always produces four strong couples for the finale each season, but since like S5 of the game it feels like there are no good couples that make sense in the finale except for MC and whoever she's with. Like Amelia and Toby MAYBE just bc they were written for each other, but even then. at least when Angie coupled with Oliver as a last minute love interest for her, there was the story that she couldn't find anyone and that they had a lot in common and actually showed some interest in each other until fusebox threw that out the window and made Angie a lesbian (which I'm not complaining about but then whyd they keep Oliver around)

And since I'm talking about all the couples anyway I guess I will comment on Theo and Claudia being together still for some reason?? said this before but WHY. at least they're a hot couple. if they're still together during the reunion though oml 🙄

I didn't realize your answer with Hazel would determine your final date but that's cute it's in a castle. Also I picked it bc I personally thought that would be interesting, but I totally forgot Jin is also a history nerd so I'm just gonna pretend that the imaginary producers were like oh we have a perfect date for these two hot nerds lol. I wish he had more comments on the castle though, bc yeah he's a history buff! just really shows the dialogue is all merged now so it's very generic.

like I feel like Jin hasn't made any jokes for a while too, which is out of character but that's bc the dialogue has to work for Jin and Oakley and Jack and Tyler too 😭 I guess it doesn't need to be fully custom but a couple lines here and there to remind us of the character they had in the beginning would be nice.

I also think we just didn't need drama the last episode. like there'll be enough emotions with the characters being sad about leaving and talking about the outside, there doesn't need to be more relationship drama. if there MUST be drama: do what I said earlier in the other hari/hazel bullet point where they just have a swift death and self eliminate in the morning/afternoon, or have petty drama between non romantic islanders. like when S2 the girls are arguing over lotion or perfume or whatever or the salt crisps later and bathroom problems later on. These guys have been living in close proximity for some time, they're bound to get agitated over little things that don't result in big shocking revelations and breakups, so just do that.

speeches cringe as always but that's just the nature of those declarations anyway. Hazel though, girl, stop it.. I'm getting the ick for you as a friend

given everything that happened in this episode, i honestly forgot this happened. i'm sure it'll come back to be important at some point, though. putting this here to try to help keep it in my mind.

Gabby and Ellie are literally the cutest, my goodness. i thought their ship was okay in S1 (i didn't really understand why Ellie would like Gabby, and to some extent i still don't), but DCAS has made me love them. they just care about and revere each other so much........

this made me cackle. i'm glad every time that Aiden gets to be more sassy and hotheaded again, especially when it's behind someone's back like this. that rashness is what prevents him from being the super vanilla character that people like to make fun of him for being, and what causes him to do interesting things in the narrative.

honestly, this was way more understated than i expected. and, possibly than it should've been...? like, Jake. Tom literally lied to you just to avoid you. this is actually (in my opinion) something you could be justifiably pissed about.

ABSOLUTELY the best strategic move for the villains. i'm very happy with this elimination, although, i was never a huge Ashley fan. my heart goes out to those who are.

Jake is truly going to be 100% alone in this game, now, and entirely due to his own doings. very excited to see how he proceeds from here.

aaaaand, that's the episode! i enjoyed this one. it reminded me of the good ol' S1 days, where i got to watch Fiore and Alec absolutely trample all of the heroes with their superior strategy. (i stan the villains, if that wasn't obvious by this point.) i'm well aware that those days can't last forever, but that just makes me even more inclined to revel in them while they're still here.

i do still hope that one of Jake, Tom, and Aiden gets eliminated soon, though. this episode specifically i don't think was an instance of plot armor-- like i said, i think Ashley was by far the most sensible boot given the situation-- but the longer all three of them stay in, the more it does feel like the writers playing favorites than how the game would genuinely shake out.

i'm quite curious as to what the next trailer will show us. are we headed towards another hero boot, or will the villains start beefing already? will the inevitable trevek conversation happen next episode? and is Emily really gone???? i hope not :,( see you next week!

Ngl I missed seeing GobSlay's Gate scroll shenanigans... not to mention that this one was quite hilarious. I love how this battle was one of the rare few times we get to see how the GobSlay's party actions affect the result of Hero party's battles. Unlike yanno... the battle at the Elf forest, or stuff that we never got to see involving the dark elf and Hecaconcheir... and so on.

Like really...

Though the series running gag be that no matter how much GobSlay's party's action affected the grand scheme of things, the guy himself won't ever realize how important his role had become ever since meeting Priestess.

Let's see... (disclaimer I'm going to be considering the batfam the 4 robins just because i don't know the extended batfam as well)

Of course Tim and Raven would get along just fine, I mean come on. I think outside of Damian she would talk to Tim the most in the batfam. I can see maybe Dami getting a little jealous sometimes that they converse so easily? She definitely feels the most casual around him. But they get along well enough, when Damian isn't just insulting Tim because he feels like it, haha. (ngl tho the chapter Tim Troubles by @vilavi-2 is one of the tastiest concepts I've ever heard of in my life)

Oh and you're absolutely right. Jason is relentless with the teasing because he finds it hilarious anyone would put up with him romantically.

Jason: "Damn dude, she's got you so whipped, why don't you marry her already?"

Damian: "Fine, maybe I will!"

Raven/Jason: "What."

But yeah I think despite their bickering and Raven always having to dismiss Jason's antics, there could be a genuine respect they are. Raven has agency and he really admires that, despite her lowkey and passive vibes. Especially once he learns the magnitude of her heritage and what that results in her day-to-day life. He totally approves of her. Also, he thinks she's a badass.

And then there's Dick. Oh, good ol Dick. He welcomes Raven to the batfam as if she had been there the entire time. He doesn't make things awkward or try and poke too much fun at them to the point of embarrassment or discomfort (well maybe for Damian sometimes but he's like nah raven u good, i gotchu). They definitely go on double dates with Dick and Kori every now and then. I think maybe eventually Dick becomes a big brother figure to Raven, too, which would be so sweet.

It's hard to guess how Bruce would interact with them. Maybe it would be tense at first? Raven can sense his distrust and skepticism a mile away and it could create some interesting tension. But I'd like to think over time he warms up to her and realizes that she can control herself and that she isn't the threat Bruce originally was wary about.

This is a little haphazard because I think the dynamics can go all sorts of directions! But in the spur of the moment this is what I was able to think of
