Someone followed my sprite blog who rbed a "DON'T DONATE TO AO3!!!!!1!!1!!1!!!!" Post that essentially boiled down to "They have too much money already!!! They have enough saved to run the website for 5 years without further donations!!!"

And I'm like..... "And????"

5 Years ain't that long of a time, hon. I know younger people think it is but damn have the years been racing by for me as I've gotten older.

Also, I'd rather Ao3 keep that surplus on hand and not have to dip into it unless for a financial emergency. Like if they start using their surplus now and then two years from now they get into financial hell for whatever reason, and all of that surplus saved up is gone, then Ao3 will be gone too.

Here's the thing--I get that people want to be like "DON'T DONATE TO AO3 DONATE TO X IMPORTANT CAUSE INSTEAD" and if you don't they tell you to off yourselves, and it's like. People with expendable money can and will donate to more than one thing. You do know that, right? You can donate to both. I know the argument is "YOU SHOULD PUT ALL OF YOUR MONEY IN THE BETTER CAUSE" but that kind of mentality leaves other important fundraising projects in the dust.

The preservation of fandom and fanfiction is an important cause, because preserving primarily queer literature is an important cause. It's not just because "Ooooh my favorite fanfics!!!!!1!!111!!", and it never has been. Fandom is primarily queer, and queer spaces are always in constant danger of being shut down at the smallest hint of a law break.

Which, on to the post's second point: Ao3 is not investing their surplus enough for a stable financial future.

I argue: Laws. Laws specifically for non-profit organizations and how much money they can get from investments before they go from "non-profit" to "profit."

I can't find any easy-to-read US law on the subject, but considering that Ao3 is a predominant queer space with lots of queer media that everyone with an internet has access to, that excessive scrutiny over OTW will be brutal if OTW isn't careful. Again, I am not sure how much money they can invest and make in investments, but due to the nature of the website and how queerphobic the US government has become/has always been, I wouldn't be surprised if the reason why investments aren't a viable option to OTW was simply because of how quickly things can go downhill if they start making too much money. Because I hope you people realize the moment Ao3 is deemed as a "for-profit" organization by homophobic governors who are clutching their pearls and chanting "think of the children!" at the horny gay furry porn on Ao3, that it will get utterly destroyed by copyright law and shut down within a year, at the longest.

So yeah. Idk, donate to whatever the fuck you want tbh? If you wanna donate to a fundraiser that is aiming to protect queer literature written for free by fans in fandom, then by all means, donate. It's not the soulless cause you think it is.

I've actually drawn her a few times but thanks for the excuse to draw a full body image of her.

She has Zebstrika aspects! and she does paint her hooves blue and red. In another thing built different in a world with aspects are headphones built to work with different shaped ears.

She is also still a model however I altered her clothing to be a bit more functional when battling because as a gym leader she often battles alongside her pokemon against others. She winds up injured, running around and pulling off attacks of her own. In other words these are specifically her battle clothes.

That theory aged bad,,, like really bad lmao, it's not the theorizer's fault tbh bcs TWST is really greedy with their lore, but it's sort of funny how it aged badly anyway.

I'd argue that Rollo is the Quasimodo stand-in actually. He regularly polishes and takes care of the Bell of Salvation, even when it's rainy, windy or snowy. He also cleans the gargoyles from the moss that accumulated on them. He hates Malleus because he is a mage and he wants to clear Twisted Wonderland ( or at least the City of Flowers ) of all magic. It's not very clear as to why Rollo has a fixation on Malleus specifically, but imo he wanted to prove to himself that if he could obstruct 5th strongest mage in the world, then his plan has some merit to it.

We can only wait until next week to know Rollo's freudian excuse is--who did Rollo lose and how, what turned him from a Quasimodo to a Frollo-- but at least the story isn't trying to excuse his actions.

The Yuu-Esmerelda thing is a bit eeeeehhhhhh. It's not like Rollo has an unhinged obsession with Yuu, but more like he understands the implied difficulties and setbacks Yuu had to face as the sole magicless student in one of the most prestigious mage institutes. And he was right! Yuu was belittled and not taken seriously by the other NRC students in the earlier chapters.

Yuu's opinion on mages and magic mattered to him because they experienced the very major setbacks of them. If they had agreed with him, he would feel justified in his constrained views on magic. But when they refuted him, saying that magic was wonderful, he was genuinely shocked and immediately chocked them up to be 'tainted'.

I'm not writing this to justify Rollo's actions by the way, he deserves to get his ass kicked by Azul, Idia and Malleus for hurting a bunch of innocent students + cityfolk for a deeply flawed goal. Call it bias but idk after being in this fandom for 2+ years I still out of body experiences when I see characters be heavily misconstrued.

When I asked about whether or not the books became egregious friendship in the later books I was just kidding I didnt expect it to be that bad 😭! Tho, a bit curious, does the graphic novels fell victim to this as well? Does Vi become a friendship god again. I only read the first 3 and I want to continue it but seeing the sudden change of the artstyle makes me not... want to continue it (no offense to the artist but the changes in the comic feels more jarring to me than the main ones)

Well thankfully the friendship thing doesn't show up much in the graphic novels since they're more nature-focused than friendship-focused. So all things considered the comics, though they suffer in narrative quality because of Papercutz calling the shots it's still pretty decent all things consi--

I'm not gonna get into that many details about it because I can't be bothered with this one, but good lord what an underwhelming send-off to what was a banger comic series. Its moral/theme is basically the teamwork song from Sponge Out of Water, Ryan Jampole's sketches of the panels look especially sketchy in this one (when they were already kinda sketchy, both in an art sense and in the vibe sense), and the only thing we really get from it is Vanilla getting a bit of a conscience and letting the girls have this victory I guess (even though I'm not sure why).

Oh and Trap plushie in Vi's room. N-not sure why she has it, but cool easter egg, I guess?

Issue 7 is the best of the newer ones I'd say, I genuinely liked it. Issue 5 and 6 though... Eeeeehhhhhh, I have mixed feelings about them. The premise is cute, both books gave me platonic!Vicky moments to revel in, Vi got to dish out a verbal smackdown in issue 5, there was a whole espionage mission thing in book 6....... but at the same time you can sense the dip in narrative thought and quality, and a part of you can't help but grieve what could've been. Especially seeing how well the first half was, and that they got Ryan "Jampolinski" Jampole to do the art of issues 5-8.

On second glance they don't look as bad as I remember them being, but there are just some panels that look... off. Or not very expressive. Or just...... Issue 5.

Don't clock him for the coloring, he wasn't the colorist in any of these; buuuutttt yeah :/

Even the Trap teddy bear is guaranteed to give you mixed emotions because on one hand it looks cute but on the other hand you look at Vi's proportions which makes you notice the proportions of the room which makes you realize the proportions of Vi compared to the room and-- yeahhh. Kinda understand why this is the forgotten child of the Jampolinski art gallery.

Like take a look at his portfolio on Deviantart and his Twitter (who's X? I don't have an ex) and there's literally no sign of his work for the Thea Stilton comics anywhere. I dunno if it's just a contract thing or something else but regardless it's kinda sad :'D

Anyway uh if you do plan on reading issues 5-8, just bear in mind three things:

The story is directed by Papercutz, so it's going to be screaming "THIS IS A KIDS' BOOK WITH KIDS' MORALS AND KIDS' CHARACTERS TALKING LIKE KID-FRIENDLY HAMLET MONOLOGUING ABOUT THE DAY AHEAD OF HIM, DO YOU UNDERSTAND HIS EMOTIONS AND THE LESSON HE'S EXPLICITLY TEACHING RIGHT NOW" the entire way through

Please don't clap Jampole for this, it's kinda embarrassing to come at him for a thing he drew back in like 2017 at earliest and y'know we dunno what happened behind Papercutz's neon orange doors, and also sometimes the forgotten child ought to remain forgotten sooooooo...... yeah, I don't want any trouble, just stating opinions here,,

There will be nuggets of gold panels there-- it wasn't nearly as bad as I remembered it being (in terms of artstyle), and there are some panels that I genuinely liked! It's just that the emotional range/nuance was just virtually nonexistent, probably because of point 1. There will be nuggets of gold in there, you just gotta sift through a lot of gravel to find it.

Anyway that's what I have to say about issues 5-8, issues 1-4 are goated and 5-8 kinda yeeted the formula of 1-4 out the window and replaced it with.... whatever 5-8 was (minus 7, I gotta reiterate that 7 is the best of the latter four). Aight see ya ^ ^

Week 14: "the lovers with umbrellas always pass me by" is from the song Rain, from the album Freedom Child by The Script. Pretty lame album, I was a bit disappointed.

Week 15: "you're simply lost" "you poor unfortunate soul" and "don't think I didn't notice" are all separate lines from the song Holy, from the album White Noise by PVRIS. I liked this one a lot, it was really good

Week 16: "we all assume the worst the best we can" is from the song Muddy Hymnal, from the album The Creek Drank The Cradle by Iron and Wine. This was my mom's recommendation- when you really sit and listen, it's a deeply hurt and upset album! I liked certain songs but taken altogether it wasn't my favorite

Week 17: "I'm picking up good vibrations" is from the song Good Vibrations by The Beach Boys. Found out during this week that the original SMiLE album project was never finished, so I split this week between Smiley Smile, Brian Wilson presents SMiLE, and The Smile Sessions, all of which have this song on them.

Week 18: "timekeeper, the days are rolling by // timekeeper, tell me I'm going to be alright" is from the song Timekeeper, from the album The Lion, The Beast, The Beat by Grace Potter and the Nocturnals. Also really really enjoyed this album. Yes it's Homestuck fanart, no there's nothing you can do about it

Week 19: "wake up tomorrow and try again" is from the song 2 Best Friends, from the album Intellectual Property by Waterparks. Good album, though it doesn't top Greatest Hits, imho. But I had this song stuck in my head a lot.

Week 20: "to my burning heart" is from the song Will Anybody Ever Love Me?, from the album Javelin, by Sufjan Stevens. Youngest sister's recommendation, little bit of a weird album but I didn't hate it

Week 21: "a rising dream or a falling star?" is from the song Lonely Girl, from the album M!ssundaztood by P!nk. Loooove P!nk, but finding out that she's from Philadelphia through a song where she starts singing about gun violence, specifically in North Philly, was wild (I currently live in North Philly)

Week 22: "I had a dream you were two towns from me // got to sleep, spent the whole night running" is from the song Two Towns From Me, from the album 3 Rounds and a Sound by Blind Pilot. Middle of the road album but I like this song a lot

Week 26: "can you feel it coming in the air tonight, oh Lord?" is from the song In The Air Tonight, from the album Face Value by Phil Collins. 'Why did you put the question mark there' because I wanted to. Next question. Is it a good album? Eeeeehhhhhh. He did his best work for Tarzan and Brother Bear and that's just facts.

As for the art, I know some are better than others, but I'm still having fun and have NO intention of stopping any time soon!

Yay, Precure Yuuki. Or Cure Spirit or Cure Fighter(whatever fits I guess 🙂💧). I’m sad our first year boys don’t get the sparkly outfits or became magical heroes too(Especially Ortho didn’t gain a magical boy form. I’m talking about both Ortho’s here.) also if the Shrouds were technically givers(I already know Mama Shroud obviously mascot partner was her husband. PS is she a magical girl cause of her Japanese VA :}) who is technically Idia’s magical hero that he is a “giver” or mascot to?(Can I just say I imagine Ortho and Idia’s mascot form is literally them being blue fur cats with yellow[or golden] eyes that also have maybe a tuff on top of their heads to mimic their “fire hair”. The one with the zoomies: Idia. He's just so anxious when in this form because he's just very floofy and somewhat big and people totally are down to pet such super L'Oréal cat model. :'3

And the roadkill: Mr Shroud. Everyone just assumes the guy is dead. He shows signs of life when his wife gives him a kiss on the head or his sons approach him, but otherwise you'd think he was dead at first glance.

Q: What is your favourite part of your K Howard costume? Abigail: I love this question! And it's a hard one, 'cause there's a lot of things that I love about the K Howard costume... but if I had to choose, I think I would say the choker because it's just so iconic and it really brings the whole thing together.

Q: Do you choose what queen you audition for? Abigail: In my experience, no, I don't- I didn't audition for a specific queen; I submitted generally to the show and the casting kinda put me in which queen they would see me as. So they put me first for Boleyn, Seymour, Howard, and then I ended up as Howard.

Q: How many times a week do you perform on the Breakaway? Abigail: We perform [...] three shows a week. [...] We do- usually a two-show day on Monday and then one show on Tuesday.

Q: What song did you audition with? Abigail: Great question! Um, so, my very very first audition, I auditioned with - what did I sing - Love On Top by Beyonce, and If I Ain't Got You by Alicia Keys. That was my very first self-tape for the show.

Q: What is your favourite song (in the show)? Abigail: (That's a) toughie. This is a tough one. I think it's I Don't Need Your Love. [...] or Six. Or All You Wanna Do.

Q: How did you get into the musical theatre business? A: I started doing Musical Theater when I was in the eighth grade. My first musical was Into The Woods, and I was HOOKED. That was my first audition with Six... um, so I met a couple of the gals that were on the Bliss... and then, um, I re-auditioned for Six November 2021 for the Breakaway, and here I am!

So actually, here's a story that Madeline (Fansler) and I met at the Bliss auditions in June 2021, and so that's when we first met, we audition for the Bliss. Madeline: Love at first sight. [...] We also met some of the Bliss queens, so I know Brianna Mooney who is Howard on the Bliss... we met Erin Ramirez, who's on the US Tour - she's an alternate - we met  her in the Bliss auditions. We knew Marilyn (Caserta), we knew Ashlee (Waldbauer), we pretty much knew all of them from Bliss auditions. Madeline: also in the auditions, like, we're all in the same space - so we, like, interacted with everyone. Hello! I’m a great fan of your work truly.

The thing is I’m Russian. I’ve heard that you prohibited publishing you books in Russia. I totally understand you position, Ukraine deserves freedom and life without war. Though I feel like I need you to know that the iron curtain is a scary thing that many Russian residents are experiencing right now. We, who do not support government’s politics, are afraid to live in this world, where we can’t even have access to foreign books, movies, shows and other art works (let alone scientific papers) . And I do believe that books can build bridges between a reader and other countries’ cultures. It may even help people see through government’s propaganda and help spread awareness. Right? Without foreign authors our country will drown in propaganda, there’ll be no way out. And I don’t want it to happen. I still believe Russia will be free too.

Of course you can do whatever you want with your works. I just want you to be mindful of the danger of the iron curtain in my country and how authors can help people.

I haven't prohibited my books from being sold in Russia -- I can't. For a start, there are valid extant licenses to my existing Russian publishers out there. What I can do is state that I won't sell new books to Russia while Putin is in control. And I'm sure you're right about books building bridges, but I have to do something, even if it's small and symbolic, within my power to say, I don't agree with what Russia is doing to Ukraine.

Very good question! I think it would depend on the situation? Of course, as the Riddler -- Ed would actually respect Matt and his career. He’d be jealous of the life Matt has (LOL), that Matt is a respected lawyer, and of course -- Ed would be jealous of Matt’s intelligence. He’d feel threatened by how smart Matt is, And well... Ed is also far more talkative than Matt, he NEVER shuts up. SO, I can imagine it wouldn’t take long before Ed gets on Matt’s nerves; constantly talking, always having to ‘one up’ him intellectually wise, constant boasting.

Matt and Ed can, however, both relate to their childhoods; they were both friendless, they both practically spent their childhood studying (both to impress their fathers, too. Except Jack WANTED Matt to study, while Ed’s father didn’t want him to.) They both lived in poverty and grew up to be a bit wealthier, they both have parental issues (though for COMPLETELY different reasons, but still) and both of their fathers were brutes technically lol! Oh, and they also both grew up to work in law at one point, and realized that the law system needed something MORE than a lawyer/cybersecurity consultant. So, I can also see these similarities helping them to be able to relate/bond with each other better.

Now let’s talk alter egos; while there are few vigilantes the Riddler can actually somewhat get along with. With Daredevil? Absolutely not. The Riddler would hate Daredevil. Why? Don’t want to say it’s because Daredevil reminds him of Batman, but he does. At least a little. Mostly because both Batman and Daredevil dress as something that’s seemingly frightening. Another reason is because they both have that NO KILL RULE. Oh, Riddler absolutely hates that. Riddler firmly believes some people do deserve to die. And no matter what Batman and Daredevil try to excuse, Riddler just thinks Daredevil just has a HOLIER-THAN-THOU attitude, and nothing beyond that. And well, if they ever did go up against each other -- you know Daredevil WILL be able to solve Riddler’s puzzles and death traps. Because you know... Daredevil’s the hero, of course! Which this would make Riddler hate Daredevil EVEN MORE. And again, Riddler being a KILLER, isn’t really going to get on Daredevil’s good side. Riddler, due to his mental illness and drug induced delusions, actually believes himself to be something DIVINE, even godlike. Therefore, he finds it all more fitting that Daredevil dresses like a devil. He thinks that just proves his point that all vigilantes are corrupt, SINFUL.

But if Ed was reformed already and had met Matt/Daredevil? Since reformed Ed obviously doesn’t kill, (but still believes certain people should die, but understands why people can’t just take that responsibility for themselves.) Therefore, reformed Ed wouldn’t mind Daredevil having a no-kill rule. And he’s also learning to be more accepting of vigilantes. I like to think that while reformed Ed would still get on Daredevil’s nerves... they’d actually be a great team. Despite Ed still being a jealous person, he’s learning to control and ignore his jealousy more often. I feel they’d both respect how intelligent the other one is, and how they both can be helpful to a situation or case. While Daredevil is a bit of a loner, I feel they would do well together if they have to solve a mystery, and I feel they’d both realize this. Ed is that, um, annoying aid to Matt/Daredevil.

Wing & A Prayer Cookies (Double Chocolate Oatmeal - yield: approx. 40 cookies)

Preheat oven to 375° Fahrenheit.

In large bowl, cream together:

2 sticks (1 cup) softened butter

1 cup packed brown sugar (regular or demerara, not golden)

½ cup white sugar

Add & mix well:

3 Tbsp milk

2 tsp vanilla (2 capfuls and then a bit more because the bottle was almost empty anyway)

2 eggs

Add & mix well:

1 ½ cups all-purpose flour

1/3 cup cocoa powder (I use Fry’s because it’s what my grandmother used and is the best one. I may be biased.)

½ tsp salt (measured in the palm of your hand, so ½ tsp to a tsp, give or take)

1 tsp baking soda

Add & mix well:

2 ½ cups dry rolled oats

2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips (like a bag. Technically a bag is just under 2 cups, but I’m not opening more for, like, 18 chips.)

Drop by tablespoonsful onto cookie sheets. Bake in middle of oven for 12 minutes (13 if you want crispy, 10ish if you want soft.)

Take out and cool on pan for 30 seconds to a minute. Put on wire rack to finish cooling. Try not to eat them all at once, but if you do, think of the fibre you’re getting from the oatmeal, and not of the sugar content.

Also I think these would be good with some flaked sea salt sprinkled on them when they’re fresh out of the oven, but I’m not 100% certain on that so take it with a grain of salt. Eeeeehhhhhh *finger guns*
