Casually crying over this manga, I’m such a sucker for the “plain” girl x popular boy trope.

Hey, it's been a while. Here's a manga recommendation for you! Busu ni Hanataba wo ('Bouquet for an Ugly Girl') is an uplifting shoujo-style seinen rom com following a plain looking gardener girl with self deprecating tendencies and her journey to self acceptance through a chance encounter with the most popular boy in school and the circle of friends she comes to make. It's similar to Kimi ni Todoke in plot but from what I've seen of the manga's tag on Tumblr, it's easily the most wholesome and sweet rom com I've ever seen. The manga is complete at 12 volumes (Not licensed, though) and has an upcoming anime adaptation that was announced with the release of the final volume. Get reading here!
OOOOOOOO THIS ONE IS INTERESTING!!!
I'll be sure to keep it noted and in mind my friend!
Thank you again for showing up and have an awesome evening!!

the way people jump into conclusions about busuhana. it's called 'a bouquet for an ugly girl' because hana herself, has internalised the thought that shes ugly and because of that she thinks shes unworthy of love and empathy. her self esteem is nonexistent and a lot of times she self sabotages because of that combined with her anxiety. it is not a weight loss story, it's not a story about changing herself for her crush, not a body switch, not 'a guy likes her despite her looks', nor does anyone else in the story talk about 'how ugly she is'. it's about an 'unconventional' (whatever that means) girl's journey to self acceptance through love & friendship. it's also very cute & hilarious. 10/10 my favorite kimi ni todoke variant right after skip to loafer
