okay for recs - i am the worst romance reader/watcher on earth but i will recommend you some stuff which you can watch for a while and drop/forget about; but they're nice enough to not curse the writer and characters while reading

webtoons

the makeup remover (trust me with this one; it does what has to do); seasons of blossom (haven't fully read this but what i have read of it i have liked); romance 101 (sweet and quick and fun, nothing too mind-consuming, just something to bite into for a week)

kdramas

extraordinary you (still watching this but it's cute when you keep in mind that half of the shit that's happening is bc it's satirical and the characters are like characters) (also ableism tw for this show - the second male lead constantly makes comments about how the fl's heart disease makes her dislikable); her private life (i like their relationship when you forget that it's happening in an office, again still watching this < as u can tell i never finish anything ever); romance is a bonus book (this one i still have to watch but everyone adores it somewhat so i am recommending this to u bc why not); run on (kept this last bc the romance is nice but it's also not everyone's cup of tea and also the romance isn't the main aspect of it)

kimi no todoke (watch the anime if u don't want to read the manga [it's def long] it's vvv sweet and the friendships are amazing and it's overall just v nice); unmei no hito ni deau hanashi (it's - mid to me but it's also not bad, like sometimes u just can't escape things in the romance genre and u have to learn to ignore it); yubisako to renren (this one is v sweet - have my problems with the male protagonist but i close my eyes sometimes); skip to loafer (it's more slice of life + romance but it's tearjerk-ey and gets into your heart);
