i ghosted and then sb’ed the lawyer guy on ig bc turns out he’s friends with that one psycho man i met a few months ago. i think the latter i only mentioned meeting but never gave tea on the fallout here. it was all fun and games until it wasn’t. he basically tried to be alpha with me and i was not having it LOL but each time i blocked him in one place he found another means to reach me but his options were limited to begin with so eventually he gave up and stopped bothering me. but like, man. digging up all of my socials just to tell me things like “you’re so cold to me whenever we’re not together physically. far from the eye, far from the heart — is this your game?” was the last straw. NO SIR I AM A HORRID TEXTER i don’t play mind games 😭 i just kept blocking him without even bothering to give a reply, it probably pissed him off sm LOL which wasn’t my intention, i just thought there was no point in wasting my time and energy on a man like that, i didn’t even want to clear out the misunderstanding like hello i have a life and ur not my priority 😭 his petty male ego was def hurt, what a dick

so when i found out they were friends my brain went ultra dramatic, i thought maybe the lawyer guy was a setup from the very start and that it was a carefully crafted method by the psycho guy to approach me again. naturally i got paranoid and that story is now over, nothing weird’s happened after that, thankfully

and— you rmr the hq guy? yeah, we’re forced to keep a professional relationship rn bc he often visits the office for work related purposes. today he came. twice. first for work, and then — to bring me sweet treats 😭 out of the blue, like way after his business was done 😭 we hadn’t talked after what happened last time so what’s this now 😭 why can’t men read the room 😭

bc like. no they're men. they should be in men's bathrooms unless that feels unsafe. but. it really feels like it's not helpful to lean into the idea that seeing someone presenting masc or being read as a man in a women's bathroom means You're In Danger.

like I know several butch women and NB ppl who are really scared around being on T or getting top surgery bc they're not men and they don't want to be in the men's bathroom, and in that circumstance stuff like growing facial hair or reading more androgynously can be really fucking scary when people are being primed by propaganda to be on edge and hyperreactive to anyone who doesn't look like their idea of a Cis Woman.

and I'm not laying that at the feet of the people saying "hey uhhhh trans men are men and don't belong in women's bathrooms" bc it is not their fault. it's the fault of a concerted effort to make it difficult and dangerous to be trans or substantively gender nonconforming in public.

but at the same time idk I guess it just worries me cause sometimes it feels like "you fools! you are worried about this group of trans people bc you think they're the Lurking Danger of Men In Bathrooms? WRONG! the Men Making You Feel Afraid In Bathrooms are actually THESE trans people!" when in fact neither of those groups using the fucking bathroom is a problem. just piss and mind your business. people need to go where they need to go.

anyway this country is a hot fucking trash fire that somehow accelerates its descent into open fascism more every day so it's all super good and normal. so don't take this too seriously tbh cause it's somewhere near #2535654476457899009765 on the list of priorities for Queer Discourse right now when the fucking human rights commission is actively rescinding protections from trans people. Both James and Snape were assholes and her being one of their closest people indicates she wasn't great or kind. She probably was pretty shallow with her morals. When I said she was classist I was pointing at her SWM moment where she threw a classist insult. When I said she was immature I was pointing at her having a baby in the middle of war and two years into a relationship. When I mentioned she was judgemental I meant her jumping to conclusions during her Snape interactions. Like when she said he should be grateful that James saved him - she said that just because she heard her friends saying it without caring about the other side. And when I said she was a social climber I pointed at her marrying a rich pureblood - the guy who bullied her ex best friend. It is obvious she saw the benefits of marrying a rich guy who could protect her as a muggleborn, despite knowing how awful he is. But like I said she justified it by thinking "atleast he doesn't use the dark arts". Hope you understand my perspective now.

I think she was understanding, understanding of the fact that people have the potential to be good, rather than shallow. The only thing here I can see a bit (and only a bit) of truth to is that I do think Lily has a bit of a righteous streak, and possibly can be a bit judgmental at times. However, I think it's completely fair for her to judge Snape for the actions she brings up in Prince's Tale because they're worthy of judgment. I judge him for them too. Like it's just not that bad and nowhere as near as terrible as you're making it out to be.

honestly I'm not going to fully get into this, like let's leave aside the fact that a 20 year old is pretty obviously going to be immature, but to be perfectly honest, based on the fact that you clearly see Lily as a shallow morally bankrupt gold digger I don't feel unjustified in suspecting that this, too, is rooted in misogyny and lack of empathy for women.
