Feather Dance: The user covers the foe with a mass of down that sharply lowers the Attack stat. Flying-type Status move, 100% accuracy, does not make contact. As the runaway daughter of a former Gym Leader, Vex'ahlia was expecting a lot from her journey through Kalos. What she didn't account for was making a rival along the way - among other things (like, say, an evil team, Legendary Pokémon, or said rival being a rich pompous asshole with an Empoleon).

Vex’ahlia is small when she declares, “I’ll be a Pokémon Master!”

Of course, she says this at the exact same time as her brother. The Hoothoot they had been watching startles, and their mother laughs and laughs and laughs.

Percival is even smaller when he declares, “I’m going to be a Pokémon Professor!”

He says this while his older siblings’ starters are battling over the dinnertable. So no one really hears this over Mother’s Solrock screeching for order in the Chateau.

Johto is a great place to grow up. Vex will miss it, though she can’t process just how much when saying goodbye to her mother looms so large.
