CBS Sports: NBA 1975-ECSF-Game 4-Washington Wizards @ Buffalo Braves: Bob McAdoo Scores 50 Points
. Source:The New DemocratĀ  Anytime thereā€™s a choice between having the player who scored the most points in a game and the team that scored the most points in a game, especially a playoff game I would always take the team. When one player scores fifty points and his team loses, it generally means he was doing most of the scoring for his team in that game. And that his teammates werenā€™t doing muchā€¦

happy 4/20!
did you know that as well as cool books, the Internet Archive also has a huge library of live show recordings to keep you jamming while you sesh?
Also, did you know that the Grateful Dead have a song called Slipknot? (actually, it's Slipknot! with an exclamation point).
-
why is this library mostly live shows?
the answer is that although the songs all have their own individual copyrights that had to be dealt with for the PERFORMANCE
the rights of the LIVE RECORDING specifically are owned/granted by the person who made it, and posted it there (ymmv, i am not a copyright lawyer).
food for thought while you smoke! have fun, be safe, and enjoy some tunes!!

ā€œIf any scream meter had been installed in the Buffalo Memorial Auditorium last night for the near-capacity mob of teeny-boppers jammed in to hear (?) and see (!) The Monkees, the instrument would have broken down before the foursome had time to open their mouths. Davy Jones, heā€™s the shortest one ā€” five foot three and 120 pounds; Mike Nesmith, the six-foot one-inch drawler; [Micky] Dolenz, the comic drummer; and Peter Tork who is no mean banjoist when he is not on the guitar, electric piano or electric organ, had their near 17,000 ā€˜Monkeebopperā€™ fans eating out of their hands.ā€ - review by Ed Feeny, The Toronto Star, July 21, 1967

On this day... - June 10th
On this day Led Zeppelin performed:
+ 1972 : Buffalo Memorial Auditorium in Buffalo, New York, USA
Tumblr media
ā€œThe last of the 16,500 Led Zeppelin fans were migrating toward Memorial Auditorium and the bitter chill of that June 10 evening didnā€™t seem to bother the anxious crowd a bit. [ā€¦] Zeppelin was in the middle of Communication Breakdown and the superb sound system generated the mammoth Zeppelin sound with studio accuracy. [ā€¦] Led Zeppelin is exactly as its name implies; heavy ā€“ yet at times, smooth and flowing. While they have been written off by many rock critics as ā€œloud and repetitiousā€, on this they were very powerful and creative, and they had only begun a set that was to last nearly three hours. [ā€¦] Some idiots were throwing strings of firecrackers down toward the stage area, along with sparkler flares, packs of burning matches and assorted debris. [ā€¦] It seemed as though the object of the stage area violence was to get to mess up Robertā€™s hair or perhaps throw some debris at Jimmy Page. [ā€¦] They tried to end the set and or course, all 16,500 fans went wild and stomped and screamed until Zeppelin reappeared with a balloon which they proceeded to kick around like a soccer ball. They jammed, loud and clear to cap a long happy concert and even the firecrackers and stage area street fighting couldnā€™t ruin the beautiful vibrations created by a mature, polished hard rock group. I left the concert feeling nice, unaffected by the bitter cold and thoroughly convinced that Led Zeppelin, despite their criticisms and stereotyping the groupā€™s image suffers, played good stage presence.ā€ ā€“ ā€˜Crowd doesnā€™t hamper Zeppelinā€™s good soundsā€™ by RJ Hill (Spectrum)
