I woke up with a Buddie AU idea in my head - Celebrity Chef Buck and learning to cook YouTuber Eddie.

Eddie is still a firefighter and he has a little YouTube channel that he posts his attempts at learning to cook onto. He's got a modest following of like 25,000 people and it's more like a community than a following because people give him advice and share ideas with him (inspired a little by ANTI-CHEF's early stuff where he was very bad at cooking but kept trying.)

Buck is a full on celebrity chef who goes on cooking competition shows and owns a really great little restaurant in LA. His background is similar to in canon - he left home at 19 and traveled around, but instead of all the odd job he gets a job as a dishwasher and then a line cook and he works in restaurants as he moves across the country.

Buck is filming a cooking competition show (let's say it's Chopped) and another contestant accidentally starts a grease fire. Someone calls 9-1-1 and ten minutes later the 118 shows up.

By the time they get there the fires out (thanks to Buck and one of the other chef's who remembered that you should never put water on a grease fire). The firefighters mostly just have to deal with some medical stuff minor medical stuff. Everyone is fine and the 118 leaves and filming continues.

As a thank you for the save and for helping the chefs who had burns and smoke inhalation, Buck sends a thank you basket including some stuff he’s made and a few copies of his cookbook. Eddie takes one of the cook books and decides to make a series where he tries to make everything in Buck’s book.

Cue Buck’s managed (Maddie) finding the series and telling Buck about it and Buck falling more and more for Eddie while he watches him cook on YouTube.

(also at the end of every episode of Eddie's show he films the table and two sets of hands eating the food and the view hears Chris 'critique' the food but you never see his face because Eddie doesn't want Chris on camera until Chris is old enough to decide for himself.)

Buck runs a finger over the the two bands he can see on his arm, he really thinks these marks on his skin are the answer, that he now has a way to break the curse.

A contented sigh slips from his lips as he lies in the bed he just spent the night in with Eddie. A future with Eddie and Chris actually seems possible. All he needs to do is explain things to Maddie and his parents and they'll be happy for him, he’s sure of it.

With uncharacteristically optimistic thoughts about his future running through his head he drags himself up and is almost dressed when he hears the raised voices. 

That doesn’t seem right and frowning slightly he quickly buttons up his shirt, pulls on his boots and goes to investigate. 

The sight that greets him as he opens the door freezes his heart.

It takes him a moment to fully process what he sees, but it’s real, there are actually Palace Guards in the street and they have a man surrounded. The man is on his knees, head bowed and hands behind his head. 

To his horror the man is Eddie.

DOCTOR AU 😍

Obstetrician!Eddie and Pediatrician!Buck you will always by my favourites. This might be my favourite AU I've made other than Frostpunk possibly. They live in my hearts forever. It's kind of a Greys Anatomy AU, but specifically within my little niche of medicine that I'm familiar with. And who doesn't like two men falling in love over an open abdomen?? It's all I wish for me and Gary. Have a snip (which I don't think is new but it's cute nontheless)!

“Come on, I’ll introduce you to Milo,” Buck says with a soft smile, and propels Eddie towards one of the incubators. Milo, as it turns out, is not a nurse like Eddie was expecting, but a small, 5-day old baby that’s happily tucked up in his incubator, snoozing happily. He’s bigger than any of the other babies Eddie’s seen in the NICU, with nothing but a feeding tube in his nose, a sats probe attached to his foot and a temperature probe stuck to his chest with a little heart-shaped sticker. He’s got a tuft of silky brown hair, and his little fists rest up by his face as he sleeps. “He’s so cute,” Eddie marvels as Buck futzes around the incubator, pulling out two sterile gowns and handing one to Eddie to put on. “What’s he in for?” “Threw a blood sugar of 1.6 so he was whisked away for some emergency dextrose gel and had an NG tube fitted to see if we could regulate his sugars a bit better here than having to get his mom to feed him every 2-3 hours and constantly bringing him back for testing,” Buck explains as he opens the side of the incubator. He strokes a finger over Milo’s cheek, eyes scrunching up in an adorable smile as Milo stretches and wriggles, making the most adorable newborn grunts. Buck gently picks the baby up, guiding him out of the incubator carefully so as to not snag any of the wires on the corners, and he motions for Eddie to sit in the rocking chair. Eddie sinks into the soft leather and holds his arms out expectantly as Buck lowers the baby into his arms.
