Riding the Wave of Ocean Heroes: Conservation & Sustainability
Hello lovelies ໒꒰ྀི´ ˘ ` ꒱ྀིა I hope you've been doing great since the last entry hehe. I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude to each and every one of you for your ongoing support and interaction with my weekly updates. This post will be my last (at least for a while). I really hope you've managed to pick up a thing or two from my blog. Thank you for being here, and I appreciate all of you (づ๑•ᴗ•๑)づ♡
Now, let's dive into something super cool today – marine conservation and how we can be kinder to our oceans.
Did you know? Around half of the world's population lives within 100 kilometers of the coast. That's a lot of people living near the sea, right?
Coastal places by the sea are like gold mines for our planet. They help out the global economy, and they do some pretty amazing stuff, like storing carbon (which is great for the environment), protecting our shores, and providing us with yummy food (Mcleod et al. 2011; Barbier et al. 2011).
You see, more than 775 million people really rely on the sea and its coastal wonders (Selig et al. 2018). For example, fish is a big deal, giving about 3.2 billion people some of their protein. It's even more crucial in places where people are still developing their countries (FOA 2018). Plus, it's not just food; it's like a vitamin boost in your meal. And, tons of people make a living out of fishing and farming seafood, almost 57 million of them! (FOA 2018).
Now, when we talk about tropical spots near the sea, they're like treasure chests. There are amazing places like coral reefs, mangroves, and seagrasses that are teeming with life, and they help out our planet in so many ways. That's why a bunch of groups and campaigns are working hard to keep these places safe and sound.
Let's focus into how people in Malaysia are doing for a sec. Here are some rock stars doing their part to save these coastal wonders:
ICRI (International Coral Reef Initiative) Malaysia: These people are all about creating safe spaces in the sea for our underwater buddies to thrive. Right now, only 1.4% of Malaysia's waters are protected. They're on a mission to change that!
The Dugong & Seagrass Conservation Project: This one's all about saving dugongs (those adorable sea cows) and the seagrass they munch on in the Bay of Brunei, Lawas, Sarawak East Malaysia. It's a big deal because these seagrasses need some protection from overfishing and other stuff that could hurt them. The locals are getting in on the action too.
Tropical Research and Conservation Centre: These ocean heroes are based in the Celebes Sea, and they're all about saving sea turtles and fixing up coral reefs that got bashed up by fish bombing practices in Malaysia. They're on a mission to keep our underwater world vibrant and healthy.
So, there you have it! These incredible peeps are working hard to make sure our oceans stay awesome. It's all about taking big steps and little steps, but together, we can keep those secret underwater gardens thriving 🌊⋆。°்⋆
Author's note: One of my all-time favorite YouTube channels recently released a new video that I believe is absolutely worth your time. His videos are like compelling stories paired with stunning cinematography. In this latest video, he highlights the alarming issue of the world's coral reefs deteriorating. It's crucial to shed light on real-world issues that are overlooked.

What Are the Top Countries to Visit in Southeast Asia
youtube
Countries You Must Visit in Southeast Asia: Your Ultimate Travel Guide
Southeast Asia is a treasure trove of diverse cultures, stunning landscapes, and vibrant cities. Here are the three top countries to visit in this enchanting region: Thailand
I just completed my Thailand trip and I was blown away by the natural beauty and tourist-friendly demeanor of this country. Known for its bustling cities, serene beaches, and rich cultural heritage, Thailand offers something for everyone. Bangkok, the capital, is a city that never sleeps, replete with vibrant street life, grand palaces, and bustling markets.
The northern city of Chiang Mai is famous for its temples and mountainous landscapes, perfect for trekking and exploring local hill culture. The southern islands, such as Phuket, Krabi and Koh Samui, are renowned for their stunning beaches and crystal-clear waters, ideal for diving and snorkeling. Philippines
The Philippines is an archipelago of over 7,000 islands, each offering unique experiences. Manila, the capital, is a bustling metropolis with a rich history and vibrant nightlife.
For beach lovers, Boracay is a must-see with its powdery white sands and turquoise waters. Palawan, often referred to as the last frontier, boasts stunning limestone cliffs, hidden lagoons, and some of the best diving spots in the world. The island of Siargao is a paradise for surfers and those looking to escape the crowds.
I have visited the Philippines 2 times so far and hope to visit more in the future. Malaysia
Malaysia is a melting pot of cultures, offering a blend of modernity and tradition. Kuala Lumpur, the capital, is known for its iconic Petronas Twin Towers, bustling markets, and diverse culinary scene.
Penang, often called the food capital of Malaysia, offers a mix of colonial architecture, street art, and delicious street food. The island of Borneo, shared with Indonesia and Brunei, is home to some of the oldest rainforests in the world, offering unique wildlife experiences, including the chance to see orangutans in their natural habitat.
I will be visiting Malaysia next and can’t wait to set foot in this tourists’ favorite country. Vietnam
Vietnam is a country of contrasts, from the bustling streets of Hanoi to the tranquil waters of Ha Long Bay.
The ancient town of Hoi An is a UNESCO World Heritage site, known for its well-preserved architecture and vibrant lantern-lit streets. Ho Chi Minh City, formerly Saigon, is a dynamic city with a rich history and a gateway to the Mekong Delta.
The northern region offers stunning landscapes, including the terraced rice fields of Sapa and the majestic limestone karsts of Ha Long Bay.
Although the infrastructure may not be as developed as Thailand and Malaysia, Vietnam is working hard to get there. Vietnam is now one of the top tourist hotspots in this region and I have plans to visit this incredible country shortly.

Rainforests and Reefs: Brunei, Southeast Asia's Best-Kept Secret
Brunei is a compact but breathtakingly beautiful country in nature and serenity. This Southeast Asian diamond can be ideal for budget-minded travelers who would want an experience different from others, boasting different scenic landscapes, rich biodiversity, and living local culture. Whether it is nature, adventure, or culture, Brunei offers the ultimate cocktail that ensures a holiday absolutely impossible to forget.
If you’re planning a tropical getaway, consider exploring Brunei holiday packages from Dubai, UAE for a convenient and affordable experience, complete with curated tours and activities.
Discovery of Natural Wonders in Brunei
The lush rainforests, pristine coral reefs, and diverse wildlife of Brunei are a haven for serious ecotourism. Its jungles and waters host so much diverse wildlife that it is a nature lover's treasure. For the adventurous type, water sports and guided rainforest tours are a must to do.
Best Destinations to Visit in Brunei
Currently, there are various tourist places to visit that are must-see spots and attractions throughout Brunei's capital and surrounding towns:
Bandar Seri Begawan: 'Brunei's best-kept secret' is one place in Borneo that certainly does boast coral reefs, rainforests, and well-known ecotourism events. Water parks, theme parks, and diving experiences make this part of a highlight in every traveler's trip.
Jerudong: A haven for nature lovers, this place is located only northwest of the capital, boasting coral reefs, jungles, and attractions at rather cheap prices.
Kuala Belait: Famed for its tranquil landscapes, Kuala Belait is a haven for those who would seek to flee the hustle and bustle of life for tranquility and adventure. Besides being blessed with coral reefs, dense rainforests, and diving sites, this town happens to be an ideal retreat.
Quintessential Brunei Activities Not to Be Missed
Visitors have plenty of activities to do during a visit to Brunei:
Times Square Shopping Center: This shopper's hotspot is situated in Bandar Seri Begawan and contains a blend of local and international shops where one can enjoy a leisurely day of retail therapy.
Gadong Night Market: Experience the liveliness of Bruneian culture in this bustling market, which is always lined with local snacks one could try and souvenirs to see.
Sultan Omar Ali Saifuddien Mosque: Probably this may be the most iconic landmark in Brunei. This beautiful mosque on water is a sign of Islamic heritage to this country and gives serenity to the visitors.
Sample the Taste of Brunei
The food in Brunei is majorly presented by the influences of Malay, Chinese, and Indian cuisines. The reason, for its taste and culinary grace, it goes without saying that ambuyat (a traditional delicacy) and nasi katok, rice served with fried chicken and sambal, are a must-try immaculate dish when tourists arrive in Brunei. The annual Brunei Gastronomy Week is a celebration filled with local flavors as chefs compete to show their culinary creativity using indigenous ingredients for Bruneian food.
When to Visit Brunei
Brunei enjoys a tornado-free, tropical climate; the temperature is constant, averaging about 27.4°C throughout the year. The hottest months are usually April and May, while in October, there is most rainfall, and normally, February is the driest month. This is a year-round destination, though it might be best to plan outdoor activities around the rainy season.
If you’re traveling from the UAE, Brunei holiday packages from Dubai offer a smooth and hassle-free way to explore this hidden gem, with flights and accommodation arranged to ensure your journey is stress-free.
5 Reasons You Should Go to Brunei Next
Brunei boasts of nature's beauty, its rich heritage combined with warmly welcoming people. From diving in coral-filled waters and rainforest hiking to trying food delicacies, Brunei is indeed a destination of lifetime experiences. Being one of the most overlooked countries in Southeast Asia, Brunei can also offer non-touristy destinations along with budget options for travelers.
Get ready for an adventure uncommonly found and take flight to Brunei—a country where rainforests meet coral reefs, just a stone's throw away.

Reading Around the World
So I'm attempting to read a book from every country, and this is where I'm currently up to. I'll try and update it as I go along, and maybe write a few reviews. Would love any recommendations too, as you can see I have a very long way to go!
(Note: I'm aiming for a book written by someone who was born in each country, but where that proves difficult - suspect Vatican City might cause issues! - I'll go with books about a country. Similarly, if borders have changed, so far I've generally been going with the country that the town or city where the person was born is currently in. I'm aware that's very arbitrary, but it's just so I have some parameters to follow really. I might not always get it right or be super strict.)
(Also, if some of the choices seem a bit odd, it's because I'm kinda cheating and including a couple of books I read before starting the challenge, going back way too many years to uni, various book clubs etc.)

From BTS, I was fangirling. And then I moved to ground floor bedroom. Things started become so weird when I was there. And then mother (Beldam) and other mothers (Beldam) got sick. I decided to move to 2nd floor (I moved every boxes and things like 🔺🤦🏻♀️ with red blanket, not really but it was tough). And then Covid-19 started. Mom and dad started sleeping in the living room. I had fun fan-girling BTS. Then I started watching Kampong People. I started to record video (making vlogs videos). Until I moved to 2nd floor. But I deleted the videos (bc I thought of marriage.. but now I think about cam sama sha 😂🤣). Then I started decluttering the kitchen cabinet. Mother (beldam) got angry. It was tough. And then after all that done. My friend texted me in the group chat, there's job opening. So I applied. And got the job. It was the best time of my life. I get to work with my friends. I wish Bruneian Darussalam could make business like that and have Bruneians staff. Barutah siuk "Brunei siok". "Now Brunei is so Dull all the time like the sky is always dull nowadays what happened-". Anyways. Why do they always wanna play rough? Before working in their company under their stupid fame 🔺🔻👁️✈️👀👀? 😂🤣. Ada lagi kerja lapas atu. Kerja as labour dulu and then barutah kana simpan ke office job. SEA Games 2019: PHL VS VIE Volleyball Women's Opener, A Review
In this blog, I will be analyzing the game. The court dimensions, equipment, basic skills, technical and tactical skills for each team, rules of the game, and the people officiating the sport.
Southeast Asian Games also known as Sea Games is a biennial multi-sport event involving participants from all the current 11 countries of Southeast Asia which are Brunei, Myanmar, Cambodia, Timor-Leste, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Thailand and Vietnam. The games is under regulation of the Southeast Asian Games Federation with supervision by the International Olympic Committee and the Olympic Council of Asia.
What this blog will be focused on is the Volleyball Women’s Opener between Philippines vs Vietnam which was so intense and exciting to watch considering that both the teams have the strong will in not losing.
Court Dimensions
The game was held on December 3, 2019 at the PhilSports arena in Pasig City which the court has 9 meters or 29 feet wide by 30 meters or 60 feet long, divided by a center line into two equal areas. Moreover, there is also a 3 meters or 10 feet line to identify the front and the back. Lastly, a tightly stretched net is placed across the court precisely above the center line’s middle wherein the game’s official net height is 2.2 meters or 7.4 feet.
Equipment
Ball
Knee Pads
Ankle Braces
Volleyball Shoes
Volleyball Duffle Bag
Forearm Pads
Basic Skills
There are six basic skills in Volleyball which are serving, passing, setting, attacking, blocking, and digging.
Serving is used to put the ball in play. The action is done with arm swing that sends the ball over the net into the opponent's court.
Passing is used to receive the ball from your opponents, as in service, or as a technique to accurately control the ball in a way that eliminates lifting or carrying the ball. The fundamental action of passing is to rebound the ball off of the forearms (which are held together tightly with the palms and thumbs positioned together) from a slightly squatted and balanced position.
Setting is used to receive a teammate's pass in order that the play may continue by passing the ball overhead to an attacker. the fundamental action of setting is to contact the ball with the finger pads momentarily at the forehead and following through with arms fully extended to the hitting target.
Attacking is used to put the ball into the opponent's court in order to earn a point or side out. The fundamental action of attacking incorporates a quick approach followed by a strong, full arm swing, and follow-thru. You can use attacks such as spiking and feints.
Blocking is used to stop the ball from crossing the net as a result of an opponent's attack. A block is effective if it immediately places the ball back into the opponent's court or if it temporarily slows down the ball in order for a defender to make a dig. The fundamental action of blocking is to stand facing the net with feet shoulder width apart, arms nearly extended above the head, ready to jump above the net to deflect the ball back into the opponent's court.
Digging is used to receive the opponent's attack. The key skills are digging and sprawling. The dig resembles a forearm pass from a low ready position and is used more for balls that are hit near the defender. The sprawl is a result of an attempted dig for a ball that is hit further away from the defender and resembles a dive.
Technical and Tactical Skills
Philippines:
The technical and tactical skills that the Philippines team mostly used are attacks such as spikes and feints which resulted with them winning the first round. The team has a strong sense of connecting with each other in order to let the ball stay up in the air until they earn points. Moreover, they did a lot of using a member to become a decoy in order to focus the other team on that person as they think she is going to spike.
Vietnam:
The technical and tactical skills that the Vietnam team are focused on attacking and diving in order to pick the ball up into the air. They also did a lot of blocking and I can say that their blocking is intense, they blocked the Philippines team a lot, however, the other team still managed to stop the ball from falling to the ground. Since they mostly focused on attacking, they lay he ball on places that are left unguarded which made them score a lot.
Rules of the Game
Only 6 players on the floor at any given time: 3 in the front row and 3 in the back row.
There is a maximum of 3 hits per side.
Points are made on every serve for the winning team of rally (rally-point scoring).
Players may not hit the ball twice in succession (a block is not considered a hit).
Ball may be played off the net during a volley and on a serve.
A ball hitting a boundary line is in.
A ball is out if it hits an antennae, the floor completely outside the court, any of the net or cables outside the antennae, the referee stand or pole, or the ceiling above a non-playable area.
It is legal to contact the ball with any part of a player’s body.
It is illegal to catch, hold or throw the ball.
A player cannot block or attack a serve from on or inside the 10-foot line.
After the serve, front-line players may switch positions at the net.
Matches are made up of sets; the number depends on level of play.
3-set matches are two sets to 25 points and a third set to 15. Each set must be won by two points. The winner is the first team to win two sets.
5-set matches are four sets to 25 points and a fifth set to 15. The team must win by 2 points unless tournament rules dictate otherwise. The first team to win three sets is the winner.
How to Officiate the Sport
Volleyball officials have a number of different responsibilities, and they must keep a watchful eye on every point for the duration of the match. Two people form an officiating team for each match, with one acting as the head referee who stands on the referee stand, while the other is "down" referee assisting with monitoring substitutions and plays at the net.
The referee of the game were Leung Yin Yan and Agung Purwantoro which respectively are the 1st referee and the 2nd referee or the assistant referee. Both can be seen parallel with each other on the court, the 2nd referee assisting Leung Yin Yan who is the one that held the authority and is responsible for officially recognizing the team requests, timeouts, substitutions, and in communicating with the coaches while Agung Purwantoro’s job in assisting Leung Yin Yan is by being in charge of the timeouts, substitutions, and the actions of the scorekeeper.
The first referee, aka the first official aka the 'up" referee starts the match, judges each play and calls the technical fouls, assigns points and sideouts as they occur to each qualifying team and also makes the final decision on questionable plays. He or she is called the "up" referee because they climb up and call the game from an elevated volleyball stand. The first referee watches the blockers for net touches, calls the double hits, lifts, technical fouls, timeouts and starts each play with a whistle blow to each server.
The second referee is across from the first referee on the opposite side of the net officiating the game from the ground. The second referee, one of the volleyball officials, sometimes known as the "down" referee assists and supports the first referee mainly by calling fouls that occur under the net. They also watch players on team benches who are in the warm up area, controls and helps monitor both team's timeouts, communicates with the scorer at the score table.
The scorer operates their functions from a table, the scorer's table which is located behind the second referee. Before the match begins the scorer registers the numbers on jerseys and each team's lineup in the score book and lineup sheets and then gets the signatures of the captains and coaches. During the match they do a lot of things such as recording the points of both teams, their timeouts, and substitutions called, record yellow cards, and more. After the game, they record the final results.
The linesmen judge whether a volleyball has landed inside or outside of the sidelines or service lines and to call any block touches. Depending on what type of game is being played, there are two or four linesmen that stand on only two or all four corners of the volleyball court. When there are two official linesmen one stands at the corner where the sideline and the service line meet on one side and the other linesman stands in the same place on the opposing team's side. In official games, the linesmen will have a flag in their hands, if not, then they will make their calls using their arms.
Moreover, Referees need to know the signals for substitutions, illegal contact and fault. They also need to know how to signal whether the ball landed in or out of play. Officials are expected to make the correct call in a convincing matter almost immediately after each play ends.

Author’s note/summary: Part two of my three-part fic. After a big fight, Natasha and Clint break off their relationship, and Clint starts seeing someone else, but Natasha soon realizes that she’s pregnant with his child, and doesn’t know how to tell him.
Weakness, part 2 of 3
1,577 Words
Five tests lay out on the counter, and Natasha feels the panicky feeling rising up inside of her again. Normally she would go get Clint, but--no, she reminds herself. He’s preoccupied. He’s too busy shoving his tongue down Bobbi Morse’s throat to care that she’s having his child.
All five tests read the same thing. Positive.
“Oh, god,” Natasha whispers, trying to contain her panic, but it rises again.
What is she going to do? After the Red Room, she didn’t even know this was possible. They had broken her, beyond repair, but maybe ...some kind of miracle must have occurred. But she needed to be sure, really sure. Sometimes the tests read a false positive, she tried to remind herself, but the fear still pulsed with her heartbeat, and she took deep breaths, quelling the panic.
She fumbles for her phone, and scrolls through her contacts until the name she’s looking for rests under her fingertips. She pauses for a moment, before calling her teammate.
“Natasha?” Bruce’s voice is a familiar comfort, and she takes a deep breath. “Are you doing alright?”
“I need your help,” she murmurs under her breath. “No one else can know about this.”
“Sure, Natasha.” Bruce’s voice suddenly becomes more serious. “Come over tonight, and I’ll do my best to help. I’m at the facility, and Tony’s working late tonight.”
“Thank you,” she whispers, hanging up before she says anything to give her secret away.
The car ride to the facility is a blur, and when she finally pulls into the driveway of the Avengers facility, she sees Bruce standing in the doorway, waiting for her.
“Bruce,” she whispers to him and sees his concern etched on his face.
“Are you hurt?” he asks, frowning, and she shakes her head, but feels the trembling in her fingertips.
“You can’t ask any questions, Bruce, you have to promise,” she whispers, and he nods, helping her through the doors and towards his office.
“I promise.”
.........
“Hey, Clint.” Bobbi catches him at his desk, where he’s trying to describe one of the assailants on his most recent mission. “Want to grab lunch?”
“Of course I do,” Clint leans up to give her a quick kiss, then follows her out the door towards the break room.
When they enter, Bobbi heads toward the refrigerators, and Clint goes to follow her when he sees Natasha in the corner, alone, her food lying untouched in front of her. Clint feels a pang of concern shoot through him. She looks tired, and when she lifts her head, he can see the sleepless circles around her eyes.
“Nat,” he mutters, knowing she can’t hear him.
“Clint!” Bobbi tugs on his elbow, grinning. “Hey, earth to Clint? I grabbed your lunch.”
“Thanks, Bobbi,” Clint grins, tearing his gaze away from the weakened assassin and settling at the nearby table with his girlfriend.
Bobbi starts chatting about a workroom fight she got into with another agent, but Clint’s mind keeps drifting back to Natasha. He starts when he sees her exiting the door, and a wave of confusion rises when he sees her throw away the rest of her food without touching it.
“...Clint?” he turns to see Bobbi waving a hand in front of his face. “Hello?”
“Sorry, Bob. Just a little ...spacy today.”
“Yeah, no kidding,” Bobbi laughs, then shrugs. “It happens, no problem.”
Clint fights the urge to run after Natasha and focuses his attention on Bobbi. He’s not getting distracted by her again.
.........
They are assigned a mission together the seventh week after their fight. Natasha measures time in weeks post-Clint, and when she gets the file from Fury, she raises an eyebrow.
“I know something happened between you two,” the director says as he hands the file to her, “but you’re our best strike team. So I need you to set aside whatever your fight was about and focus on this mission.”
“Of course, director,” Natasha says smoothly, but as soon as he closes her door behind her she lets her face fall into her hands, willing the tears to sink away. She can’t be close to him again, she just can’t. She can’t.
They meet on the jet. Clint has resolved to keep it civil, but when he sees her face, he doesn’t think he can take the next week.
“Clint!” it’s Bobbi, running after him, a bag in her hand.
“Hey, Bobbi,” he grins, wrapping her in a hug.
“This is for you,” she blushes, handing it to him. “A good luck present, I guess. See you when you get back!” she kisses him quickly before hurrying off the jet, waving over her shoulder.
He opens the bag, shaking out the contents until something heavy falls into his hand.
It’s a snowglobe, from the amusement park they went to on their second date. He grins at the gift. It’s silly but thoughtful. Just like Bobbi.
“Cute,” Natasha says from the corner, and he jumps at the sound of her voice. “A good girlfriend must have bought that for you.”
“Nat--”
“Listen, Clint.” she stands, walking over to him. “We might not be together anymore, but we have to get along here. This is a mission.”
“That’s just what I was going to say,” Clint says, confused, but Natasha suddenly pales, and Clint frowns at her. “You good?”
“Gotta go,” Natasha mumbles, sprinting towards the back of the jet, and Clint can hear the sound of retching. He winces, considering going after her, but decides against it. He doesn’t need her mad at him right now.
.........
It’s a long flight to Brunei, and Natasha curls up on the seats, trying to get some rest. Her stomach has become much less stable, but she’s determined to do well on the mission. She can’t screw up, not now, not with Clint here.
When she opens her eyes, she sees him leaning against the wall, staring out the jet window.
“Hey,” he says awkwardly when he sees that she’s awake, and she nods her response. “We land in a few minutes, so, good timing.”
She doesn’t bother responding and instead focuses on trying to breathe in an attempt to calm her stomach. It isn’t working, and she feels her stomach lurch when the jet jerks.
“Nat?” Clint frowns, and she shakes her head at him, trying to get him to stop caring, but the jet hits another bump and she knows that’s the last straw.
She stumbles down the hallway into the bathroom just in time, and curls around the toilet, her throat burning. She hears footstep behind her and curses herself, but when she turns, she sees Clint, staring down at her, awkward but concerned.
“You okay?” he murmurs, and she nods, pulling her hair back and splashing some water on her face from the sink.
“I’m fine.”
“You’re not,” he shakes his head. “I’m not buying it, Nat.”
“Leave me alone. You can’t call me that anymore.” it comes out more sharply than she intended but it does the trick. He leaves without another word, and she slams the bathroom behind her, letting the tears fall down her face.
“God,” she whispers, “help me.”
They enter the restaurant together. The mission is simple--find the target, and contain him, by force if necessary. But the second they enter the premises, bullets fly at their heads.
“Get down!” Clint yells, rather unnecessarily, and Natasha dives behind a table, while Clint rolls behind a desk.
“I’ll get the left, you get the right,” Natasha’s voice whisper in his ear, and he nods, his instincts kicking in as he notches an arrow.
He gets into the rhythm of it--duck, point and shoot, before diving back behind the podium. He draws his guns as he kicks over the table, running towards the armed soldiers and knocking them to the ground. He’s in the middle of trading punches with a particularly strong soldier when he hears Natasha hiss with pain in his com.
“Tasha?” he grunts, twisting the man’s arm behind his back until he hears the satisfying snap of bone. “Natasha, are you okay?”
“Fine,” she says, but her voice is tight. “I’m fine, let’s go. I’m in the back, and I have the target.”
Once their target is secured in the SHIELD containment vehicle, Clint turns his attention to Natasha. Natasha tries to hide in the corner of the wrecked restaurant, but the cramping in her abdomen is getting harder and harder to hide. Blood is sliding down the leg of her catsuit, and panic rises in her lungs when she realizes what’s happening.
“Nat, did you get hit? What happened?”
“I’m fine.”
“Oh my god, Nat, you’re bleeding--”
“I’m fine,” she whispers, tears gathering her eyes.
“Well, let me help, at least,” he tries, but she shakes her head vigorously.
“No, no, you can’t help.”
“Natasha. You need to go to the hospital,” he mutters, and she just stares at the ceiling.
“Okay,” she says softly, knowing how shocked he must be at her answer. If he’s surprised, he hides it well, because he pulls a walkie-talkie out of his pocket and exchanges a few short words with the person on the other end.
“Okay then,” Clint nods. “Let’s go. There’s a SHIELD truck out front, and they can take us there.”
She just nods, trying to not let the fear show. I can’t be losing the baby, she thinks desperately. I can’t lose it before I tell Clint.
