Timkon clon baby au but Bruce loves his grandson way too much he stops being Batman for a while to help single teen parent Tim being yk a parent.
Like, he's soooo down to being a grandfather that as soon as he sees the baby in Tim's arms he doesn't even asks where it comes from he's just omgomgomg a babyyyy.
Because, yk, he never got the chance to hold his kids when they were babies and now he can hold the baby of one of his babies.
Enter making the mannor baby proof on day one and making a whole room a playground!
And he sees how Tim is like, not okay, like, yes he's happy he's a father now, but the grief of his friend dying is still there and the guilt of trying to clone him AND successfully doing it is not going away quickly enough for him to be able to take care of a whole human being, so Bruce of course steps up (because he's a good father when he needs to, AND THAT'S A BABY OK).
So, being Batman vs being there for his son and grandchild? Obviously his family needs him more.
So pretty much everyone commits to the cause.
Dick can be Batman for a while, just like once a week so Gotham knows he's still there. Jason may help a little by not causing trouble and Cass is so down to watch the kid 24/7 because they don't know if he has powers yet or when will they appear.
Just a big bat family trying their best for the new baby!
Edit: follow up!

(Kind of self projecting sorry lol) SO! BabyBat has an upset stomach but Bruce's too anxious about giving him medicine because can his baby stomach handle those chemicals? Insert Alfred rolling up his sleeves "give him here master Bruce" a tired Bruce just hands him over without question and watches as alfred and baby head to the kitchen and suddenly...baby stopped crying? Bruce walks into the kitchen seeing flower stems on the counter and Alfred standing there with a sleeping baby "...How?" "Rosewater master Bruce, i made and fed him Rosewater" Not sure how to end this but basically BabyBat would only drink Rosewater from now on and Bruce has to upgrade his gardening game ,Alfred always has already-made Rosewater so his Grandson is always hydrated and the rest of batbros are just like "hell yeah my brother's too fancy for regular water" I hope you except my request and thank u! I love u
Oh no, I hope you are doing better now. Either way, this is an Alfred thing to do. Thank you for the love too.❤️
Summary: Alfred knows what to do.
Warnings: Alfred knows what to do, Bruce is tired, boys love their brother, but they want peace, fluff all in all.
Tumblr media
Taking care of a baby is difficult, even for Alfred. Bruce and him had joined forces for (Y/N). The boys have also agreed to help whenever they could. It was exhausting to take care of a little baby. Bruce and Alfred were sleep deprived at this point and the boys took care of their little brother while the two recovered slightly.
It felt nice to have a presence of a baby here, despite the chaos that a baby brings. (Y/N) was an easy baby as long there was a routine for him. Feed him on time, change his diaper regularly, put him down for a nap on time...
All of the basics essentially.
Oh, not to forget, (Y/N) was often held in someone's arms. Whether it be Damian's, Dick's, Jason's or Tim's, (Y/N) was happy to be in their arms. Bruce was (Y/N)'s favorite none the less. Who wouldn't love being held by their father?
But, it seems that (Y/N) had medical problems. Bruce took him to the pediatrician to see what's going on. It seems that it was (Y/N)'s stomach and Bruce got some medication for it, but he was worried. Bruce believed in medicine, don't get me wrong, but... Will (Y/N)'s poor tummy will be able to handle it?
Bruce has tried everything he could to soothe his son, his anxiety preventing him from giving him the meds. How can he know that the chemicals won't make it worst? Again, he believes in modern medicine, but his baby is...
He doesn't want to hurt his son more. Alfred and everyone else tried to help, but (Y/N) was just in too much pain to even think about calming down for a single second. Jason was sure that (Y/N)'s voice will be lost in a few more hours and Damian wanted to die.
Dick and Tim tried, but nothing worked. At all. Nothing. Tim was exhausted and Dick was going to snap soon. Very much soon. Damian and Titus were out of the manor for these couple of hours and Jason went to the Batcave.
Alfred, all of a sudden got an idea. Going to the garden, he got some roses and has decided to make some rosewater for (Y/N). He cleaned the flowers in the kitchen and then put the in a pot before submerging the petals underneath the water. He put it on low heat and let it simmer for now. He put a lid over it and sighed as he heard (Y/N) crying.
He waited and checked on the petals and smiled when he saw that the petals lost color. He turned the heat off and moved the pot away, allowing it to cool down completely. (Y/N) can't drink hot water. And it would be a nice alternative to the medicine that Bruce is so anxious about giving to (Y/N). The worry is understandable, babies are more fragile than toddlers and older kids so giving them harsh medicine is not a good idea.
Alfred turned on the radio and removed the lid from the pot. He could hear Bruce's voice trying to shush his son, but (Y/N) was still crying from the pain. Alfred waited patiently as he poured himself some whiskey.
Did he love his grandson more than life? Yes, but sometimes, alcohol was important to soothe the headache the crying might have caused. He slowly sipped his whiskey as he waited for the water to cool down. Jason and Damian came down to eat something and Alfred pointed at the leftovers in the fridge.
" What's in the pot Alfred? " Damian asked as the took a container of food to heat it up.
" You'll see soon. I'm just waiting for it to cool down. "
" Is it for (Y/N)? " Jason asked as he looked at the food in the fridge. " Please tell me it's for him.
" It is. " Alfred said and took another sip of his whiskey. Damian and Jason sighed in relief.
" Thank God. " Damian said as he started heating up his food. Jason smiled as he waited for his turn.
" What's in the pot though? " Jason asked as he peered over to look at the pot.
" Some rose water. It's great for the stomach. " Alfred explained and Jason nodded as he looked down to look at the water more intently.
" Since when do we have roses in the garden? " Jason asked as he started heating his own food up and Damian sat down and started eating his food.
" Since forever master Jason. " Alfred said as he finished his whiskey.
Jason nodded and took his food out of the microwave and started eating.
After 20 minutes, the water has cooled down and Jason and Damian have left the kitchen. Alfred rolled up his sleeves and went to the living room, with Bruce still soothing his son. Bruce was tired and Alfred was sure that Bruce's ears were going to start bleeding in a few minutes.
" Hand him over master Bruce. " Alfred said and Bruce gladly gave (Y/N) to Alfred and he just closed his eyes and relaxed, the sound of (Y/N) crying moving further away from him. He kept them closed until there was silence.
Why was there silence?
Bruce opened his eyes and went into the kitchen where he found Alfred, with a sleeping (Y/N) in his arms. How the hell was (Y/N) sleeping?
" Alfred? What did you do? " Bruce asked as he looked around. Why were on the counter stems... Were those rose stems? Alfred chuckled at the confusion that Bruce was exhibiting.
" Rosewater master Bruce. " Alfred said, giving him a very short answer.
Bruce was still confused and Alfred chuckled once more. " I fed him some rosewater. " Alfred explained and Bruce nodded. Whatever it was, it helped (Y/N) out and Bruce wasn't going to question it at all.
" Huh. Thank God for the rosewater I guess. "
" Yes, it's a more natural remedy. I know you were anxious about giving the medicine to master (Y/N), so I remembered this recipe. "
" Alfred, did I ever tell you that you are the most important member of the family? " Bruce asked as he walked closer to his beloved son, caressing his little cheek.
" All the time master Bruce. "
" Good. " Bruce said as he leaned down to kiss (Y/N)'s head and the little boy slowly reached for his father. Bruce took him into his arms and allowed him to rest in his arms.
Dick and Tim popped their hands in happy and relieved that their brother was not in pain anymore. And that he wasn't ruining their hearing anymore.
" Is he okay? " Tim asked quietly and Alfred nodded. Dick sighed in relief and put a hand over his heart.
" Thank God. It's nice to have a silent manor for once. " Dick joked and everyone chuckled. That much was true.
" Well, it's great that our brother is not in pain anymore. " Tim said and walked closer to his baby brother, just observing him.
" Thank you Alfred. " Dick said and Alfre laughed. Bruce rolled his eyes with a fond smile.
After the discovery of rose water, (Y/N) refused to drink anything else. Thankfully, Alfred started feeding him some solid foods so he wasn't going to be hungry. But it was funny the first time (Y/N) refused to drink anything that wasn't rosewater.
Bruce was confused, but Alfred already had batches of water prepared for his grandson. (Y/N) needs to be hydrated. Bruce sighed as he drank his coffee, looking at the garden outside. He needed to call a gardener to plant more roses in the garden...
He glanced back at his son who was happily drinking his water, with Alfred holding the bottle.
The four older brothers walked in for breakfast and they all laughed.
" (Y/N) is so fancy. " Tim said laughing as he made his way to the coffee pot and the cereal cabinet.
" More than you B. " Dick joked and Bruce rolled his eyes with a smile.
" Yes, (Y/N) is a true Wayne. All Waynes are fancy in their own right. " Damian confirmed and Bruce just kept smiling at the banter that was going on here.
" You do know that you have up your gardening skills, right old man? " Jason teased and laughed behind his coffee mug. (Y/N) really did bring everyone together.
" I'll call the gardener the moment I'm in office. " Bruce declared and everyone nodded and started eating in peace. This is a very nice and calm morning for their standards.
" Is it just me or (Y/N) brought us all together? " Jason asked and everyone paused for a moment.
" You are right. " Dick said first and everyone followed with either nods or soft murmurs of agreement.
Jason walked up to Alfred and (Y/N) who finished his bottle of rosewater and picked his brother up in his arms. " My little brother is so fancy. " Jason said as he rocked his little brother, who in turn was shrieking with laughter.
Everyone smiled even more. This morning is really nice. And (Y/N) is a glue that keeps this family close and together.

I see no one talking about the repercussions this will have on the JL. It's a general consensus Bruce's getting a heart attack but I think you all overlook how this is going to be reflected on how he behaves with the team members whose protégés messed with his daughter.
There you have Superman. Clark Kent. Man of steel practically invencible who could've lived without knowing about his son/brother/clone of himself's love life. Now he's sure Bruce implanted Kryptonite in his eyes by the way his gaze would pierce his skull if the Dark Knight didn't look away.
(Secretly glad to have a grandson/nephew/technically son/daughter new addition to the half-Kryptonian family)
Then there is poor Oliver Queen, Aka: Green Arrow, who has no idea what Roy's doing 70-80% of the time but who would sit next to Dinah and far from Batman because the man's daughter is pregnant and the guy has no chill about it.
Shout out to The Flash and GL for directly skipping the JL meetings (None of them were even aware that Batman had a daughter but they prefer not to risk triggering a contingency plan. Barry for Bart and Wally's sake. Hal because he secretly supports the theory that Batman is a vampire and doesn't want to be dragged by association into Kyle's mess)
–🦎 (saw someone do this and thought it was cute)
Bruce would be composed during JL meetings, he's had too much practice on his poker face. (Suppressing that shit.)
It's going to be those 0.2 seconds after the meeting where he pulls the corresponding League member aside to talk when everyone else realizes shit must be going down.
☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️
Clark wouldn't run, but he'd approach with same amount of caution one would give a rapid wild animal. And, if needed, he'd play dumb. He's play so dumb. (Completely pretending that he didn't just go dig out all his and Jon's old baby furniture and clothes, and that Lois is planning the baby shower possibly with Luthor's help.)
☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️
Oliver, would run. He would literally run. He stays out of Roy's business, and he'll stay out of this. He'll spoil the kid when they get here, but he is staying out of firing range. No thank you. God speed to Roy, but hell no. (Will pat Roy on the back though, because the kid's gotta have some massive balls to do this.)
☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️
Barry will not run. Barry will probably pull the lovable goof card and talk about how exciting it is that their going to be grandparents and already be coordinating holidays and family visits. And, you know what, Bruce will take it. Planning for the future is his hobby. But, he'll definitely make sure Barry is distracted while he gives whichever Speedster is was to knock Reader up the shovel talk.
☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️☁️
Hal will fucking laugh. He will laugh at Bruce like he doesn't have a gun of yellow holi powder in his pocket. He will actually laugh at Bruce's face without care and so hard. Kyle's not his kid, but god damn will he feel so proud for him making Batman a grandpa.

I’m not going anywhere
Short little broppy oneshot abt poppy comforting branch 💕💙
(my first ever fanfic?? go easy on me)
——————————————————
I’m Not Going Anywhere
The sun was finally setting, revealing a night sky that was covered in stars. After a long day of being on the road and trying to practice their “perfect family harmony” to save Floyd the group decided to take a break before it was time to turn in for the night. JD and Bruce were chatting off in the distance while looking at some tree and Clay was inside the bus getting his bed ready for the night. Branch was busy being lost in his own world. He sat down in the grass, running his blue fingers along the blades. Of course seeing his brothers again after all these years was great and he was happy to see them again but it also wasn’t easy. The whole ordeal exhausted him with the emotional war constantly happening in his head.
He hated the way being with his brothers made him feel like that baby again. Helpless and small watching them walk out the door, leaving him alone with their grandmother who then died at the hands of a bergen not long after. Before her death Branch could tell how much she missed her grandsons. She’d put on a happy face for him of course but he could still hear her crying sometimes at night. He held onto the hope that they would return and that they could be a family again. He built the bunker for them just like him and Floyd had planned all those years ago still hoping they’d come back. Part of him hated them for what they did to not just him but also their grandmother.
He hated them for leaving him especially when he needed them the most. He hated them for leaving him to be alone after their grandma died. He hated them for not being there to do something so their grandma didn’t have to die. He hated them even for trying to pretend like nothing happened since then, for trying to pretend like he’s still that baby they abandoned. Even with all the hate he couldn’t help but still love them. He couldn’t help but still want to be a family again and fix what had become so broken. He could recognize that they all came from broken lives in some way and that he wasn’t the only one who had suffered. All of it was confusing and hard to understand.
His complicated thoughts were interrupted by a familiar voice. One that he loved to hear, the voice that always seemed to speak the right words when he needed it. The voice that belonged to his favorite face in the world.
“Branch?” Poppy said gently, sitting down in the grass next to him, knees curled up to her chest mimicking how he was sitting, her shoulder resting against his, “Are you alright?” She spoke slowly and carefully. “Not really” is what he wanted to say but then he knew that would lead to a “what’s wrong?” and that was a question that was too complicated for him to even answer to himself.
So instead he replied, “Yea, I’m alright”, in a shaky whisper, not quite selling it like he wanted to. He assumed Poppy wasn’t going to take that for an answer and he knew that she knew better than anybody when he wasn’t really alright. It was impossible for him to hide his true emotions from her.
It was to his surprise when instead of digging for a better response she simply replied to his answer with, “I’m proud of you.” She leaned into his shoulder as she said it and tried to catch his eye.
He looked up from the ground locking his gaze into her pink eyes with a slightly confused look on his face, “For what?” he asked. She gave him a small but genuine smile.
“For all of it,” She said, grabbing hold of his hand and running her thumb along it, “for being here right now, for giving family and trust another chance, for how far you’ve come, for having such a great heart even after everything you’ve been through, all of it.” He looked back at the ground, feeling hot tears spring into his eyes that he tried to keep from falling, she kept her gaze on him and squeezed his hand. “I know this isn’t easy for you, Branch but I’m so proud of you for taking it all in so well. We’re in this together, me and you, and I’m not going anywhere, no matter what.”
Branch looked back into her eyes as she reached up with her free hand to wipe away the tears that fell despite his protest. She always knew exactly what to say to him. Most of the time he felt like he didn’t deserve someone like her. She was, without a doubt, the best thing in his life and he would do anything not to lose her.
That was one of his many reasons for being so hesitant to come on this trip. He knew it would be difficult, he knew how vulnerable it would make him, he knew how many complicated emotions would come up. He was terrified to have the girl he loved see him like this. He was scared it’d push her to give up and leave him just like everybody else had in the past, but hearing her say those words made him realize he had nothing to be scared of. She not only understood him but she accepted and loved him for where he was at.
“I love you,” He said. Three words that seemed so simple and routine but that meant everything to him. Three words that silently spoke a thousand more.
She smiled at him before she pulled him in for a hug, wrapping her arms around him tightly, “I love you too, Branch, so much.” He knew she meant it too and for that moment all of the questions without answers, all of the pain and hurt, all of the confusing thoughts and feelings didn’t matter anymore. He had Poppy and that’s all that mattered.
thanks for reading hope you enjoyed :)
I love them so much

Hey! I just followed you! I’m Christian too. I saw your post about BroZone abandoning Branch. I agree with you. What they did were stupidity and selfish.
I know Floyd said goodbye, but IF he was a good and loved Branch very much then why did he left him? (I know it wasn’t make sense but Trolls if he didn’t 😅)
That’s just wrong of him, making promise is serious. Solo career takes a lot of time, also Rosiepuff was old. Honestly I don’t know if that’s wrong or right but I feel like he’s very wrong, the solo career is just something to enjoy and human/ Troll is living! Wasn’t he like 10-12?
You only live ONCE!
My 2ed favorite is John Dory. taking care of siblings is lot of responsibility and he through everyone died meaning his family died as well. He mentioned he tried came back but no one was there. I don’t know about Floyd, Clay and Bruce. They’re okay I guess. (They’re awesome in fanfics I don’t know why ;’D)
True I don’t like how they treat Branch in movie, it’s just weird and embarrassing. Like come on! Branch is not a baby! I’m more shocked they didn’t notice Branch’s hair and skin were not same as his original colors, it’s duller!
I know John left first but he did come back, but well yeah we know.
I don’t know about Bruce. By looking at him, he has family, right? I feel like he replaced Branch. Branch is HIS family! I’m bet Bruce’s kids would have asked about their uncles, his brothers! Honestly I feel like he doesn’t care about Branch but I’m not quite sure.
Clay is fine, he wanted to be serious but it seems like he isn’t mature enough and he just did dance which is kind of funny in movie at golf course, right?
It’s fine if he doesn’t want to be fun boy, that doesn’t mean he should be serious ALL the time, honestly I’m not sure about him. Staying mad at John for 20 years? That’s too much. I’m surprised he or Bruce didn’t end up hurting themselves- (it did happen to me, I was upset with someone, no i didn’t hurt myself but I felt hurt, after awhile I got over it, moved on and feel better, so should they)
I don’t know about Floyd, all we know he only got captured and was trapped for two months. We don’t know what he did before that.
The worst is they all left Branch to the hands of Bergens in the middle of BergenTown which was worse! (I heard about Bergens finding Trolls after BroZone Breakup, but I find it hard to believe and I don’t understand so I don’t believe and timeline is confused)
I’m not sure why Rosiepuff didn’t do her job to step up to the boys. I understand she was too old, or stop them from leaving unless she thought they needed some time to themselves and will come back, it might have happened before, like teenagers normally does. I’m guessing she didn’t hear what Floyd was saying to Baby Branch.
I’m not sure If she did help JD, we don’t know how her relationship with her older grandsons were.
Her death was even more sad.. ;(
Branch is my favorite ever more! :’D
My apologies about any mistakes or grammar.
Anyway I have a question, we know BroZone’s parents was never seen at all, they most likely died.
But
What do you think their reaction to their four older sons, what they did to their youngest son? I know they would be so disappointed and angry, knowing that they do not raise their sons this way.
I get it, teenagers can be stupid but abandoning families is wrong and awful, really sad even when Branch didn’t do anything.
How would they think about their sons left after one performance that went wrong and one fright that made them left and never came back?
How Branch went through so much?
HELLOOOO FELLOW CHRISTIAN 💕💕
Sorry I didn't get to this sooner, i knew this response would take a bit and I didn't have a ton of time earlier today😁💅
Okay, so to answer your question, it's hard to know exactly his parents would feel other than being disappointed and angry. We don't really know their personalities as well, so it's super hard to tell. I know for sure that they would never have let them just walk out the door like that unless they were lousy parents, and would probably give them all a good talking to.
I will say, being a girl with six brothers, I know what brothers go through, so I'm assuming that they have had multiple fights like this before, and that this one was only a bigger deal because they had promised the Perfect Family Harmony, something that had never been done before, and they blew it in front of the whole village.
DOES NOT MAKE THIS RIGHT BUT JUST SAYING THAT IT'S VERY EASY TO LOSE UR TEMPER WITH IT BROS HAHA-
But yeah, they would be so sad about Branch going through all of that. He definitely didn't deserve it. He was only a baby after all!
I never understood why Grandma Rosiepuff just sat there talking about dummy during the fight, that doesn't show the sweet loving grandma we know she was from Branch's descriptions of her. Ok Dreamworld was trying to be silly, but (And this is very hard for me to say bc I LOVE Dreamworks so much and their jokes are amazing in kids movies!!) I think the joke was too forced at the wrong time and place.
So I'm trying to give her a benefit of a doubt about why she didn't stop them, maybe thinking "oh, they 're doing their silly little fights again, they'll all be back." But they didn't come back:(((
I don't believe that Bruce REPLACED Branch or any of his brothers-- falling in love and having kids isn't replacing them at all. Branch could have done the same thing with Poppy, honestly. Bruce did seem to not really be too eager about going back, which did confuse me, and can be fustrating, but it makes sense. John Dory had always bossed him around and yelled at them, and he had found love and a great new life where he was, so he didn't really need to return to the life he didn't really enjoy. (Tho it is still messed up)
IDK WHAT HAPPENED WITH FLOYD LIKE WHY DID YOU NOT TO BACK TO BRANCH?!!! I don't have an explanation for Floyd at all. Maybe he did come back but found the troll tree abandoned and whatever, so maybe he guessed they were dead too? idk, I love Floyd but I just can't believe he didn't return for Branch or take Branch with him, though I guess it would have been messed up to leave their grandma all alone.
For the timeline confusion you have-- totally get it, the timeline is all over the place. But here is the basic explanation for things:
The BroZone Breakup HAD to be before the Bergen Attack bc Clay ran off with Viva, remember, before arriving at Putt Putt Whats-it-called lol (which is why Clay didn't look for Branch again also-- Viva wouldn't have let him)
Also, Branch is at least two years older (bc he was def a bit older when his grandma died) than Poppy, and Poppy was only like one year when the Bergen attacked, so the breakup also had to happen before the Bergen Attack bc Branch was only like one (at least) during it and Poppy definitely wasn't born yet. (If Poppy had been born, it might have taken her quicker to connect the dots between Bitty B and Branch).
You know the timeline after that, Trolls, Trolls Holiday, Trolls World Tour, 1/2 month later THIH, and TBT 1/2 a month after that. Kinda complicated at first, but if you really think about it, then it becomes a bit easier.
also, Clay is in a phase where he is trying to figure himself out. He wants to be serious (mainly to defy JD and show him that he has grown up) but at the same time, he does seem to be a silly boy at heart.
BRANCH IS MY FAVORITE TOOOO SAMIESSSS
sorry, I ranted. Hope this helps! Love ya!❤❤❤

Love Love Love your art!!! It’s sooo beautiful and the dialogue is top tier!!!! Can I ask what Damian’s relationship with his Mother and that side of his family is like in your universe??
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! 💖
yeah of course! in newish earth, the foundation for their family dynamic comes from one book, batman: son of the demon. the only thing from that story not canon to my universe is talia giving her baby up for adoption. instead, she keeps him, and i'll tell you why.
so, if you haven't read it, what basically happens is that bruce and talia make their marriage official, they make love and conceive a child. when bruce hears about this, he's sooo so so happy! even ra's is happy, because his daughter is happy. ra's throws a big banquet and welcomes bruce into his family with open arms, and it's the sweetest thing ever honestly. but since they're all working on a mission together to stop some bad guys, of course trouble arises.
bruce puts himself in way too much danger just to protect his pregnant wife. talia realizes bruce is gonna get himself killed for her and their baby, so she lies and tells him that she miscarried so that he won't be so damn reckless just for his family. she tells him to leave her alone, and he does. (the next time bruce and talia meet in the comics, bruce is very bitter about what happened, and even though talia offers to give up her life as an assassin for him, he refuses, not only because it's too painful for him right now, but also because he knows he'd have to give up being batman to be truly happy with her, and he simply can't do that.)
keep all that in mind for the ghul family dynamics. so, on newish earth, talia raises damian as an assassin not because she's a maniacal psycho or whatever, but because she wants her son to be able to protect himself. she does plan to tell bruce about damian eventually, but only after she's sure that bruce doesn't need to be so lethally reckless just to protect his family. talia also gives damian the necklace that bruce gave her for their wedding, and when bruce sees this necklace, he's even more hurt, but it makes him realize how much he does still love and miss talia, how he never, ever could forget her, as much as he wanted to, as much as the lie of a miscarriage hurt him. as much as he wished he was there for damian when he was younger.
likewise, ra's has no problem retiring in this universe, and while he does pressure damian to stay with the league to be his heir so talia may leave and refuse the role of heir herself, he doesn't try to take over his damn body. he'd never do that to one of his family members. in this universe, the only person who wants to hurt damian is dusan, as he is jealous that he is not the "prince" of the family himself. talia had always been the favorite child, so ra's wasn't a perfect father, but he still wouldn't do something as crazy as trying to hurt his precious grandson.
so damian actually does love that side of his family, he just resents being brought up the way he was. when he was 10, he obviously didn't understand *why* talia didn't just run away with bruce and raise damian together with him, away from the assassins. but... at the same time... he also acknowledges how privileged and blessed that life was, too. as an assassin, the prince of the assassins in fact, he was gifted so many luxurious things, and he gave it all up to become robin. it was an actual decision that he had to make with actual consequences. it wasn't as if he was leaving an abusive situation and finding nothing but freedom. he was leaving a loving home and going into a new home that honestly treated him like garbage just for how he was raised, which he obviously had no control over. his own actual choices don't seem to matter at first.
anyway... that's pretty much it! i'm starting to ramble now. just know that nobody is perfect but they all try to do their best, from their own perspectives. except for dusan, because he's bitter and jealous lol.

I think that Ra's Al Ghul would be a shit enemy for Tim as in he'd piss him off and attempt murder dozens of times and would take Tim's sleep away a lot
But
What if he actually gets to be a good grandpa?
Sure, Damian can start as a project to host Ra's soul and be his vessel or something because I really like that idea
But then he sees the kid.
As in the actual kid. Out of whatever incubator they put him in.
He looks just like Talia but also just like him.
His eyes might have a blue trace from Bruce in them, but with the right light they shine an even brighter green than Talia's.
And he's got the same soft baby jaw that Talia had that squishes around with his cheeks when anything presses against them, and when he holds Damian for the first time and they squish against him and he sees that this is his grandson, a baby much like his daughter was twenty or so years ago.
And he sees the love he has for her and has had since day one seeping through and he instantly loves this baby.
And he's got Talia's nose, it's faint but it's there and he knows he'll grow to have her nose, he can see it.
And his grippy baby hands hold onto his robes and he falls asleep on Ra's arms.
"Cancel the vessel plans." He states, once, firmly, but quietly to not wake the baby up.
He is stuck holding Damian to not wake him up despite being carbon-dated old and knows hundreds of ways to get out of this situation.
He falls asleep too and stabs three assassins in his sleep because they got too close to Damian or made noise.
Talia was out and panics a bit when she realizes she left little Damian alone with her batshit crazy (pun intended) father
She arrives back to their assassin palace and is told to be quiet, and that the vessel plans are cancelled.
She sneaks into Damian's room to see Ra's asleep with him.
She smiles softly, glad that Damian has done his magic with her father.
Though, she knows, that if this kid has got anything from Bruce, he'll grow out of their clan.
And she knows her father will be angry and it'll be hard for all three of them.
But she chooses to focus on the now.
She grabs a dagger to defend herself from upcoming attacks as she sneaks into the little couch next to her dad, and falls asleep watching Damian sleep, softly slumped on her father's shoulder.

Because shipper brain is activated, Spirit Halloween! Suspend your beliefs, this is my sandbox and I'm pretty sure its stocked with moon sand and saw dust so everyone can be OOC as a treat. Speed running to this scene so fill in your own backstory, established relationship, ambiguous hand waving at keeping cherry picked DC canon (ha!) slightly intact just avoiding the whole Tim beatdown because Jason got scruffed by Danny and put through therapy. Also pretending Jason dying was a fixed point that Clockwork ensured Danny would be distracted in the realms over, maybe another Pariah mess to clean. Shortly after Damian, adorable little squish cheeked stabby bird, was unceremoniously dumped with Bruce and Tim who is still trauma kitten slightly less so is getting the brunt of the Highlander thought process. Danny feeling that this baby is as liminal as a glow stick doing what he did with Jason and slowly coaxing their newest little murder baby (Dick was first) into behavioral therapy that doesn't stifle those things but redirects them to better targets. Bruce despite being at home in all those shades of grey (make your own jokes here) only sees black and white and wants to immediately disarm the child fully thus making the behavior worse because while the best assassins are never truly unarmed, this is a child who probably went to sleep with a favorite knife instead of a plushie. Emotional support sword makes him feel brave in a very new and unsettling situation where he has to *share* HIS Father with these subpar people. So despite Danny's success in getting Jason in a slightly better headstate (death changes everyone after all), Bruce is not having it because he knows what kind of training Damian would have had and listened to the issues with Tim (Danny is over here making Bruce a more attentive Dad because he's got someone else pointing out how favoritism looks, sometimes it's a sneaky bitch and kids won't always speak up). Trying to toss Damian into the new "normal" pool without floaties with no success but Bruce is stubborn as hell. Proceeding to the aforementioned conversation:
Bruce: "You can't keep doing this. It might hurt someone."
Danny: "You know what..." *opens portal*
Danny: *pulls out Martha Wayne*
Danny: *to Martha* "Did you hear the shit your son has been saying?" Danny: "These are Damians comfort items, they make him feel like he has some control of a very much out of control situation and instead of discussing how we can all make things slowly resettle and keep one or two knives on him at any given time, Bruce wants to strip him of all of it. I'm aware these are weapons but he's had training enough that he won't accidentally hurt someone or himself. I trust him enough to have learned what we're trying to impart about how to follow through with disagreements in ways that don't require spilling blood but your bullheaded son is ignoring the success and is trying to force the endgame. I've heard from Alfred that you were the one to initially teach Bruce the value of patience so would you mind taking a moment to refresh everyones memory? And meet your grandsons too, I'm sure they'd love to get to know their grandmother." Probably not the direction the clever brained OP burntheskyandtime intended this to go, but this is how my brain ran with it.
Honestly why does Danny never pull the "I will talk to your parents about your behavior" card when dealing with any of the bats (especially Bruce).
Like he can (and probably would) bring Martha Wayne or Thomas Wayne into some petty conversation just to win an argument or somthing.
Example:
Bruce: "You can't keep doing this. It might hurt someone."
Danny: "You know what..." *opens portal*
Danny: *pulls out Martha Wayne*
Danny: *to Martha* "Did you hear the shit your son has been saying?"

Earth 309
     On this earth Protectors are the winged guardians that are assigned to protect children with ruff childhoods. Protectors look like humans with wings and they can turn invisible. They are shy so they usually stay invisible unless, they are alone with the person they are protecting. Protectors also age about the same rate as humans
     Dick Grayson is an unusually energetic Protector and tends to be very happy.
     At the age of fourteen Dick becomes the Protector of a nine year old Jason Todd. One day Dick just appeared in the middle of Jason's room. Jason freaked out ofcourse because there's a guy with wings in his room.
     After he gets over the initial shook Jason loved having Dick around.
      Protectors don't let anyone touch their wings except Dick. He wraps his wings around Jason protectively and call Jason his baby bird
     Dick does he's best to help Jason by get food but even a fourteen yearold protector is still a fourteen yearold. Jason turns to stealing to get what he need. Even though Dick does approve of it he still helps but being a lookout while Jason steals.
     One day Jason goes too far and tries to steel the batmoblie wheels. Dick lets Bruce catch Jason thinl that the Batman could help Jason better then he could. Bruce takes Jason home not noticing the invisible person sitting on the roof of his car. Jason and Dick move into the Manor and Jason refuse to speak to him for a month.
     Bruce doesn't know that Dick is living in the Manor so the protector uses this to play pranks on him. Bruce is started to think the manor may be haunted by a glitter ghost.
     Jason later becomes robin (because of Dick's nickname for him) and Dick almost having a heart attack.Dick has to work extra hard to protect.
     It's only a Myth that Protectors can't be hurt. Jason found that out when Dick gets shot in the shoulder protecting him. He wanted to get Bruce but Dick doesn't want Bruce to see him yet so Jason had to sneak medical supplies and patch Dick up himself.
     Jason starts to be more cautious on portal so Dick doesn't get hurt saving him again.
     Unlike most Protectors, Tim drake can't fly. The bottom of his wings were clipped by a human when he was a kid much like how some one would clip a pet birds wings.
      Tim was thirteen when he became Damian's Protector. He first appeared while Damian was training, pulling him out of the way from a bad blow.
     Damian was pissed. He's the grandson of the demon head he didn't need protecting. The two don't really get along and spend most of the time argue.
     Tim has never really liked humans but Talia is by far the worst. He wants to punch her in the face for the way she treats Damian. He is very protective of Damian which makes the kid more grumpy.
    At the age of Teen Damian is sent to live with Bruce. Tim follows Damian because he's Damian's protector. Damian was very relieved when Tim told him that he was coming with Damian but he pretends to be mad about it.
     Dick is beyond thrilled when he notices Tim stand next to Damian. Dick introduces himself to Damian almost immdently. Tim on the other hand doesn't want the others to know about him so he tells Dick to keep it a secret from Jason. Tim also doesn't trust Bruce because he looks like the guy that clipped his wings, he's not.
     Damian and Jason get off to a rocky but they slowly start to care for each other. Damian becomes robin and Jason changes his name to Night-Bat.
     One night while on patrol Damian gets trapped in a collapsing building and Tim is the only one with him. Tim hurts his wing using it to shield Damian.
     Dick can sences Tim's distress and leads Jason to Damian. The next day Tim sneaks into the cave while every bodies gone to bandage up his wing. Bruce walks in on him and Tim has a panic attack. Bruce tries to calm him down offering to fix his wing this back fire as Tim panics more knock stuff down with his wings.
     Damian ran in calming Tim down as he goes into protective mode. Tim instinctively wrapped his wings around Damian glare up at Bruce. Dick and Jason rushed in to see what's going on.
     After he calmed down some Tim let Damian bandage his wings. The entire time he glares at Bruce.
    Dick introduces him self to Bruce and explains everything. Jason pouted because he thought he was the only one with a cool half bird bodyguard. Bruce panicked because he suddenly realised he had four children instead of two

Where There Is Change
Last Name Wayne
@maribat-bdbwm
First *** Previous *** Next
Okay so I know I diverged from cannon, but I think you’ll all like this.
~~~~~~~~~~
The moment that Damian agreed, they left.
She immediately placed their phones and electronics into storage, so this game would be a little more fun.
Mari "chose" the first place that they teleported to was Paris. The irony was not lost on her.
The place that kicked her out was the first place that would open up to her. But then again most of the city adored Marinette they loved Lady Scarlet even more, but that wasn't general knowledge.
She and Damian know it is a matter of time before B figures they left the country, but hey. They mostly stuck to going between super cities in the U.S. before. But right now, it mostly was her showing him around the city the museums and then getting really inspired by the scenery.
If she was prepared with several different sketch books and pencils for both of them it was an added bonus.
She knows she subconsciously picked Paris and after a few hours it might be smart to jump again. So, she let Damian decide on a place where he wanted to go. He did warn her that if they were spotted, they need to leave immediately, but she didn’t really see a problem with it.
Because granted they’re both Wayne's, and Wayne's if you know them well enough, they will be able to hand your ass back to you on a silver platter smiling as if it was the greatest thing in the world.
So, they jumped again.
This time it was her turn to be awed by what they saw.
They were in a small alcove completely hidden; in the cave they were in the face of it was covered by bushes. But looking out she saw the mountains in the far distance it appeared to be a lake no it was larger maybe it was the ocean. Right below her was a lush courtyard filled with plant she's only seen and one other place, but the heat here was tremendous, and the sea that she could see was in the wrong direction. Apart from being far, far, far too close to where she originally thought they were.
She was going to lean forward a bit and completely break through the bushes that were covering them when a hand pulled her back. She looks back and sees her little brother holding onto her.
"We have to stay hidden Nettie, are above the League of Assassins." He whispered so quiet she could barely hear him about ten inches away, so she’s not taking this lightly.
She nodded, and they stayed there, silent. The only sound was of graphite on paper.
Then everything changed.
On instinct Marinette shot out her arm, a wooden imperial yo-yo appeared in her hand, with a quick flick of her wrist she stopped the projectile, lodging it within the wood. A quick glance at her brother and she opened up portal behind him and pushed him through without a word, closing it behind him.
She knows that it’s more dangerous if they find him here than her, so she stayed behind.
She removed the projectile and examined it, a blow dart likely with poison, seeing as a liquid was seeping into the wood of the yo-yo. She created a replica of the dart and stored the poisonous one and her yo-yo back in storage.
She took a quick breath and punctured her arm where the dart should have originally landed. And fell to the ground, slumped down.
She kept her face relaxed her body limp and she felt three, four, five separate sickly deathly auras around her. She kept her breathing at minimum, light, almost as if she was asleep. They picked her up and moved her. She realized immediately that she was being taken down the mountain, taken deeper into the League of Assassins.
Five assassins she can take them. But the one thing repeatedly crossing her mind was one phrase.
'How dare these assholes mess with her family! Her little brother! They are going to pay!'
Because she is a Wayne, and Wayne’s protect their own.
She was eventually dropped in a large room, from what she can tell, if the echoes were any indication to what she was thinking the size of the room could be. There were three more auras in this room, aside from the ones she passed to get here. What surprised her was she recognized all three.
Still acting unconscious, she heard a woman’s voice, Talia Al Ghul, speak. "What business do you have to bring this child here?" It was phrased as a question but seemed more like a snarl or demand than anything else.
"She was captured on the grounds. She’s an unknown." Was what was reported by one of the people in who had dragged her down here.
Then she heard a chuckle.
"She’s awake." That voice, she recognizes that voice. Her entire previous plan was now completely out the window. So, she lazily pushes herself up, pulling out the dart once she was on her feet.
"Damn, I thought that would last a little longer." She finally looked up and saw Damian's clone, Heretic, Talia, and Al Ghul. But something was wrong, it was bothering her. Al Ghul, he, he… he wasn’t Demon, he wasn’t her Demon anymore. All she recognized now is his voice, at least that’s what she told herself, nothing else was the same as a person she once knew. The question now is why. "I really shouldn’t have introduced you to the Order, if the result would have been this?" A smirk on her lips and now standing cocky in the middle of a room full of assassins, she is stalling. He is acting like he knows her, but his aura is indecipherable, familiar, but not.
"You should not have, but then I wouldn’t be here today, to thank you, would I? After all you allowed our family to find these pits." ‘Our Family’ she dove into her memories, but now that she needed them, they were far away and fuzzy, God damn it.
"Hmmm, I suppose not. Right now, I really wish I had turned you into a cat permanently. I found the correct spell, so I actually can now." This elicited yet another chuckle from Al Ghul which had everyone else in the room on edge.
"Really now I love to see it, after all I wasn’t able to experience it before you vanished." She quirked an eyebrow at this response, but she didn’t care about his mind games, she was stalling, trying to find out what caused this change. All her mind supplied were the plants outside. Demon wasn’t good with plants, but he was with animals, so how.
"Really you don’t wanna know why am actually here?" She asked, looking so innocent, one might believe that she was there merely an accident or coincidence.
She then turned towards Heretic, death in her blue eyes was all anyone could see, but she didn’t kill him. No, she couldn't bring herself to kill him. He may have killed her baby brother, but he is
Damian’s clone, but that clone was nothing but a poor imitation of her brother. With a snap of her fingers, he transformed into a statue of a panther, mouth opening for a roar. In all accounts looking intimidating, but there’s no way to be scared of a statue.
"That was for killing my little brother." She crossed her arms now glaring daggers towards Talia.
"I wasn’t aware you had a little brother, Lady Cheng." Demon never called her Lady Cheng, no to him she was Malak (Angel), but…
That was when the pieces fell into place. That’s why the older Damian looks like a cross between Demon and Bruce. That’s why Damian turned into a panther cub. Damian is Amir’s reincarnation, the true soul of the black cat. That means, in front of her stood Ra’s, Amir’s older twin brother. That’s why he could read the journal, he is a miraculous soul. And only miraculous souls know the language of miracles, without decades of studying the script. It’s ingrained in them but only accessible after coming in contact with old magic, miraculous magic.
"One, the name is Wayne. Two that’s because at the time that I met the both of you 600 years ago, I didn’t even know I had siblings. So, get this through your head, I don’t care that he is your son or your grandson. He is my little brother. Nothing will stop me from making sure my family is safe." Her voice stayed level, emotion flitted in and out of it, in such a way that it almost seemed inhuman. For more reasons than one, she just sensed one of the Lazarus Pits.
"Scarlet." She heard gasped by the woman next to Ra’s.
"Correct." She glared at them walking closer as she said so. "My name is Marinette Wayne, and you best remember to never mess with creation. I would have thought you would remember that little Lǎohǔ (Tiger)."
By her walk over a sword had appeared in each hand, which she was now holding up to Lǎohǔ‘s neck, while the second was held right at the base of Talia's spine, almost daring her to move. The threat hung in the air, and both knew she was capable of following through.
"Well, I do believe it’s best to catch up over some tea." Lǎohǔ offered, many would have taken his offer. Because if the Demon’s head offers it, it would be your funeral if you refused, but she wasn’t just anyone. "After all we haven’t seen each other, in nearly 600 years, now have we, much must’ve happened to you."
"Hmmm... not really you’d be surprised. By what has become of my life been since meeting you." She decided to put away her blades, for the time being. Seeing as she couldn’t leave without destroying the Pits. The only surviving consequence of the Miraculous wish, cast ages ago. Now time to come up with a plan.
---
"Are you sure about this Pigtails?" Plagg spoke up.
"Ancient magic like this calls for a price." She sighed.
"We know, Marinette, but your little brother." Tikki voiced.
"I'll do everything I can to keep all of them safe." She spoke resolutely.
"But can you live with this?" Tikki asked.
"I have to be able to. Besides I'm pretty sure he is your true kitten, Plagg." She reassured.
Tikki and Plagg united their powers, and were able to destroy the pit, and every other one on Earth. Then disappeared. She opened a gate knowing what is coming.
---
Somewhere in the league of Assassins was the Demon's head and his daughter, looking royally pissed as they watch a timer tick down. Seeing as Marinette decided to freeze them with venom, so she could destroy the Lazarus Pits.
Congrats on the engagement part 2
So this took longer than expected so without further do let's go
Omg that sounded like a intro youtubers do
First part
When they stopped they saw a building on fire. It turned out to be Marinette's boutique. Of course, she had money and could easily rebuild it if she wanted to. But the miracle box along with the kwamis and the grimoire was still inside. And they were irreplaceable since they were the last ones in the world. Once Marinette had that horrifying realization, she ran inside while Damian tried to stop her. But she was, unfortunately, too fast. Of course, Damian ran inside after her to try to get her out of there before she got hurt.
When Marinette went inside, she started looking for the miracle box. A piece of wood fell right where Marinette was about to pass by and by sheer luck she missed it. She continued walking and when she finally got to the second floor she saw the book and the kwamis were panicking since they couldn’t use Longg powers to turn off the fire. Once they saw Marinette, they were glad but scared of what she was doing inside a building that was on fire. They were gods they couldn’t die.
Meanwhile, Damian tried to get past the firefighters but they wouldn’t let him go. He kept yelling and telling the firefighters to let go of him because his fiancé was in there. Finally, after more struggling against their grip, he ran inside the building looking for Marinette
Too preoccupied about finding Marinette, he did not see the floorboard that was about to fall, and it fell on him knocking him unconscious.
Once Marinette collected the miracle box and the grimoire, she started to cough because she had inhaled way too much smoke. When she saw Damian on the floor unconscious she panicked and tried to pick him. She failed a few times until she finally got a good grip on him and picked him up and put his arm around her shoulder and started dragging him out.
She was coughing more and more, but she was determined to get out of there. When they got out Marinette was having trouble breathing and the paramedics started helping her immediately while the firefighters were still trying to contain the fire. Once they saw Damian they put him inside another ambulance and rushed him to the hospital.
Marinette was having even more trouble, so once they got her into a stretcher they gave her an oxygen mask . Even with the oxygen mask, Marinette was still having trouble breathing, so the paramedics were rushing to get her inside the hospital.
No matter how fast they tried to get to the hospital, they couldn’t because there was a villain attack happening and they couldn’t pass and the police denied them access even after they had told them they had a patient that needed to get to the hospital as soon as possible.
Damian got into the ambulance he did not get caught up in the attack. Once he got there he was immediately checked to see if he had a concussion after the piece of wood fell on top of him. He did happen to have a severe concussion so they put him in a room by himself and waited until he would wake up.
Meanwhile, the Bats had finally managed to stop the attack so the ambulance could finally pass. They never knew that the ambulance that got caught up was the one where their future sister-in-law and future daughter in law was in.
Marinette was still having trouble breathing even with the mask due to how many smoke fumes she had inhaled. The paramedics were trying everything for her to not close her eyes but Marinette could barely stay awake. Once they got to the hospital they rushed her in because she also had severe burns. Before they could treat her, she died from all the smoke inhalation.
The doctors could do nothing but cover her with a white sheet and contact her family to let them know what had happened.
On the other side of the city, Alfred picked up a phone call expecting to hear anything else but “HelIo, this is Alice from Gotham hospital. I am contacting you because your grandson, Damian Wayne, has been hospitalized.”
On the other side of the world, two loving parents received the worst news that no parent wants to hear. “We are sorry to let you know that your daughter, Marinette Dupain-Cheng, has been declared dead.” Once they heard those dreaded words, they broke down crying.
Once Alfred informed the rest of the family, they all rushed to the cave to take off their suits and rush to the hospital. They got inside the car and passed the speed limits; they didn’t care if they got in trouble their son, brother, and grandson was in the hospital for who knows what. Only for Sabine to call them in tears, saying that Marinette had passed away and that they had no idea how to tell Damian. They were in shock. That meant that while Damian was in the hospital, Marinette had died. And the problem was they had no idea how to tell Damian that his fiancé had died.
They got to the hospital and rushed to the front desk and everyone immediately started asking for Damian Wayne and what room he was located in and what had happened. The front receptionist got overwhelmed and told them to quiet down and that Damian was on the second-floor, room 404. They all got into the elevator, immediately pressing the second-floor button. After a minute they got to the second floor and looked immediately for room 404.
Once they found the door, they found Damian laying in bed still unconscious, they all felt bad for when he woke up they had to tell him the tragic news.
Bruce was pacing back and forth wondering what had happened that Damian had to end up in the hospital and Marinette had died.
The kwamis and the grimoire had still been in Marinette's hands when she got out of the building, so they took those belongings with them and put them in a bag for the patient's relatives or someone close to them could pick them up.
Jason got tired of waiting to know what had happened to Marinette so he left the room and got into the elevator and went up to the front desk. Unfortunately, they told him unless he was a family member or was one of her emergency contacts they could not give him private information. Jason, while frustrated and on the verge of tears, didn’t want to scream at the receptionist for she was just doing her job. He went to Damian’s room again only to find everyone crying except Bruce, but you could tell he wanted to cry.
It was already too late so the nurse had to ask them to leave, but if someone wanted to stay they could. Of course, Dick offered to stay while Alfred took the rest of them back home.
The next day, Damian woke up and could barely open his eyes due to the light inside the room.
Dick noticed right away when Damian woke up and started fretting over him, but pushed the nurse button alerting them so they would know that Damian had woken up.
“Grayson, where is Marinette?” was the first thing Damian asked. Dick was having trouble on how to tell him what had happened to Marinette. Damian got up from the bed and started walking out of the room when Dick grabbed him from the arm and stopped him from leaving.
Damian started pulling his arm out of Dick’s grasp but Dick would not let him go. “Grayson, let me go I need to look for Marinette!” Damian yelled.
“I’m sorry, Damian, but I can’t let you go.”
Damian was getting frustrated. He just wanted to see his fiancé and find out if she had gotten out okay, but Grayson was keeping him from doing that and he had no idea why. Finally, the nurse came in and told Damian he had to sit or lie down so she could check him again.
Damian listened to the nurse and sat down, but he still wanted to go look for Marinette. Once she finished checking up on him, she told him he was free to go home. Damian, of course, immediately went out to look for Marinette. Dick went after him so Damian would have support once he found out. That’s when it hit Damian that he did not know what room Marinette was in, so he and Dick took the elevator and, once they got to the main floor, he asked the receptionist if he knew where Marinette Dupain Cheng was. The receptionist asked Damian what relationship he has with her.
“She is my fiancé,” Damian answered.
“Do you have proof of what you are claiming?” the receptionist asked.,
Damian was getting frustrated at this point but asked Dick if he could borrow his phone because Dick had tons of pictures of them together. Dick unlocked his phone and scrolled through his camera roll to find a decent and recent picture of Damian and Marinette together.
The receptionist took one look at the photo and looked at Damian with pity. She then looked at Dick and, without actually speaking, asked him who was going to tell him.
Finally, Dick decided that he needed to tell Damian.
“Damian, I have to tell you something.”
“What is it, Grayson?”
“So we got a call from Marinette’s parents, and I don’t know how to tell you this...”
“Just spit it out, Grayson! Tell me what happened to Marinette!”
“Baby bird-”
“Grayson, what happened to Marinette?” Damian asked, frustrated.
“Baby bird, after she got you out of the building, something happened to her and-”
“And what, Grayson?”
“I’m sorry, Damian, but Marinette died,” Dick finally managed to tell Damian.
Damian stood there in shock. He couldn’t believe it.
“Grayson, please tell me you’re joking,” Damian said, shaking Dick.
Dick looked at his baby brother, who was on the verge of tears and just pulled him into a hug.
Damian started sobbing. He couldn’t believe that Marinette, his angel, the love of his life, was gone.
“No, Grayson, this can’t be! Marinette can’t be gone, not like this, not her,” Damian cried.
And Dick held him the whole time as he cried
Back to the dinner that became a spontaneous birth then reprimand from a newborn toddler. Where genres collide. Before the misunderstandings clear, there is pain. : )
While the Bats have been busy being Bats, Alfred has been busy being Alfred. Making all the appropriate preparations for Tim and the innocent baby this deal has produced. (Because Alfred is a sensible gentleman and would never blame or punish a newborn for existing, regardless of the presumed 'sins of the father' or potential world ending future.)
That the baby came out so unexpectedly in the middle of dinner and also already a toddler, though clearly he is cognitively much older, is only a minor set back. Alfred had the foresight to acquire the necessities for what he had assumed would be several months of development. The smaller diapers and clothes will simply have to go into storage should one of the other children someday grace Master Bruce with more grandchildren.
"If I may, Master Tim. Young Master, Danny was it?" Tim mutely nods, brain still whirring away trying to figure out what happened to Danny and also why everyone is looking at him like that. "Young Master Danny seems to be in need of dressing." Danny looks down at himself for the first time, then immediately tries to hide in Tim's shoulder with a squeak.
"Da! Tim! Why my naked?"
"Last I checked, humans are not born with clothes, Danny."
"Oh. Yeah. Uh... can I boh-woe a t-shut?"
"Nonsense, young Master. I have plenty of clothes and diapers for a variety of young ages set aside."
Tim startles at that, clearly not expecting it. "Why?"
Danny squeaks again, clearly embarrassed. "Die-puhs?"
"Surely, Master Tim, you did not think I would allow my great grandson to go unclothed?" Alfred levels Tim with his patented eyebrow. "Now, if you would follow me, there is a nursery prepared in just across the hall from your bedroom. We shall find everything we need right now in there."
Apparently Tim's emotions haven't leveled out yet, not that he expected them too immediately, but it would have been nice; because tears are springing to his eyes at the casually implication that Alfred at least still considers him family. "Right, yes, right. Clothes, diapers, good idea."
Danny squeaks once more. "Do I hab t'wear die-puh?"
"You are physically a toddler. Your body probably doesn't have bladder and bowel control yet. So until we know for certain, yes." Tim stands, turning to leave the room with Alfred.
Bruce finally regains enough wits to speak. Which naturally means he immediately puts his foot all the way in his mouth. "Alfred, wait. The child is- We don't know- It's a Death God incarnate. It could be dangerous."
Tim freezes, back still to the room. The temperature seems to drop several degrees. The Bats scramble to take defensive stances. "What?"
"Tim, Son, I know your head is probably a bit messed up right now. But we are your family. We are. And you have to remember, I know you remember, you made a Deal with a Death God to bring me back. And it took advantage of your body to give itself human form. That's not a child, that is a Death God incarnate and it is m-"
Danny glances up over Tim's shoulder, wide eyes brimming with tears, before burying his face back in Tim's shoulder with a high whine straight from his core. Danny knows that Tim isn't his dad. That means Tim's dad isn't his grandad and his siblings aren't aunts and uncles.
Danny knows this big, loving albeit extremely dysfunctional isn't actually his family. But his core apparently didn't get the memo. So the rejection still hurts. It bites and stings and aches along the Y-shaped wound that doesn't physically exist on this body but Danny can still feel it scarred into his soul. And Danny doesn't really know what he did wrong here, but his tiny toddler body is full of big feelings and his Obsession demands he try to fix it, to regain the family's approval.
"Saw-we. I di-int wannoo take ad-ban-tage ob Tim. Wuh jus posed to we-go m' boh-dee. O a boh-dee. My boh-dee wuh hut bad an it wu-int he-wing an Cawk-wuk said dis would be good. Tim uh-gweed, to bing Buce home, I could he-uh inside him. Use his body as a temp-ate to fit mine. I doh-no wuh wen wong. I doh-no. Saw-we. M saw-we. I dunno. M saw-we."
.
Toddler translations again:
"Oh. Yeah. Uh... can I borrow a t-shirt?"
"Diapers?"
"Do I have to wear [a] diaper?"
"Sorry. I didn't want to take advantage of Tim. [I] Was just supposed to regrow my body. Or a body. My body was hurt bad and it wasn't healing and Clockwork said this would be good. Tim agreed, to bring Bruce home, I could heal inside him. Use his body as a template to fix mine. I don't know what went wrong. I don't know. Sorry. I'm sorry. I don't know. I'm sorry."
Just a little idea
What if when Tim went off to look for Batman when he was lost in time he bumped into Phantom.
They made a Deal
Phantom knowing CW helped him find Bruce and how to get him back safely, Phantom in return for reasons (hurt badly & recovering, or evolving in power) needed someone very ecto-contaminated (Ra's fault) like Tim, to be contained in.
From a magic user point of view, knowing very little of the GZ and how they work, Tim made a very powerful Deal with a powerful death being (High Ghost King Phantom: Hello!) and is now somehow pregnant (not really but they don't know that)
Danny while inside Tim inside his core can still hear the world outside normally and can share his emotions with Tim to communicate. Which looks a lot like Tim is speaking to his belly just like expecting parents do.
This could be angst or crack
or
my personal favourite, different genres for different pov's
Tim's would be happy, just regular getting his life back together being a total BAMF, coming of age type of vibe
The rest of the Batfam and other heroes pov would be angst, paranormal, psychological horror.
Misunderstandings galore
Dick regretting heavily his decisions which caused Tim to run away because he did not believe him and he has many Regrets.
Bruce feeling guilty that Tim felt the need to make such a decision as to make a Deal and end up pregnant just to bring him back.
Meanwhile the magic users have told the other heroes about Tim's situation and now think that he's going to give birth to the child of a very powerful death being and if something happens to Tim to risk the baby it would cause all of their worlds destruction.
so pretty much-
Tim-Girl Boss, Gatekeep, Gaslight
Batfam- Much Angst
Others- *panicked chicken noises*
BATJOKES Vigilantism & Fatherhood DRAMA AU: Bruce Wayne and Jack on Differencing Parental styles also Conflicting Moral issues, Baby troubles bits.
(So before I continue on with the rest of the small details of Joker & Harley Quinn first time meeting & them becoming like this crime spreeing friends duo / also how Joker  “Jack" meets up with Bruce again & them reconnecting becoming more romantically involved...yet also having to deal with the Children of Arkham.)   [Right here is just a side slice of Bruce & Jack dealing with being first time fathers to their son also along with other regular weird bullshit within Gotham City.]    With having little Malik newly apart of both their lives now, lives that are already filled with enough adrenaline fueled high obtaining levels of stress also danger that’s comes with being heroes and doing the whole vigilante thing in keeping Gotham safe.  Now double that with a baby within the mix as well, on top of that there still dealing with the after effects of the entire Children of Arkham mess also the possibility of Lady Arkham most likely still being alive also having to deal with other villain rouges & Bruce and Jack now have a son to worry about amongst everything else,  so yeah there hands are pretty real full.  While Jack might be fully rehabilitated...that isn’t to say that his mental problems / issues are “gone for good” or “ he no longer has them”  even though he's been doing so much better also been very good as of late especially with officially moving in with Bruce, he still every now & then prone to getting bad panic attacks or gets way highly overwhelmed or have night terrors sometimes, he has scheduled therapy sessions with Dr. Leland which helps a lot as well as being medicated too which clams his hyper overactive brain.   With Malik around both of there routines had greatly changed, especially in terms of nighttime-patroling which before tend to usually involved both of them but now with a infant son they have to take turns or one of them stays behind.  Even with Alfred helping out with Malik when Bruce & Jack are out working on a case or dealing with some villain rouge , they can’t help but still worry about their little boy especially Jack, Bruce knows that if there is any danger at the manor he perfectly setup extra protective precautions within every single inch also rooms of Wayne manor, including the nursery most importantly.  Also he knows Alfred  will always be willing & ready to be on the lookout for Malik who is particularly his grandson.                                                                           NOW ON BOTH BRUCE & JACK DIFFERENING PARENTING MOMENTS & BABY MALIK TIDBITS :  While Malik isn’t yet at the age to talk as of now, but further on down the mouths or so  he’ll eventually start calling Bruce  "Dada"  &  Jack  "Baba" although that soon will change into "Papa".  | When it comes to bonding & playtime, Bruce enjoys lifting Malik up in the air and holding him tight to pretend fly also whoosh him around like a airplane , other ways Bruce likes to bond with his little man is to help him with his little baby exercises or most of all he loves having Malik sleeping & just laying on top of his chest, holding Malik so close & tight to him always calms him down or helps takes his mind off the constant pressure also worries of keeping Gotham city safe. Malik always manage to help grounds him and drives him even more to make Gotham a better place.  Now another thing Jack loves to do for his sweet tiny boy is dress him up in all kinds of crazy outfits & cute clothes, such as super bright also colorful onesies with different kinds of fun patterns. Like polka dots or zigzags or ones with animals on them, he enjoys dressing Malik in funny, adorable themed clothing like having him as a bat with the little ears also including with little flappy wings, he’ll have him dress as a bear or an ducky also a shark too.  |  Bruce sometimes thinks that Jack tends to goes a bit overbroad with the outfits but he tries not to get on him too much about it since he knows how much its means to Jack, ones of Jack favorites things to do in terms of bonding or playing with his dear boy is blowing raspberries on Malik chubby cheeks also on his tummy and play pretending to eat his little feet & toes or making silly faces also other weird faces that would mostly either creep out or put-off anybody else...considering Jack sometimes inhuman unsettling wide full teeth smile & grin that’s freaks some people out ; but for little Malik it tends to get a giggle out of him or hearing his Papa laughing and non-stop off-kilter giggling always gets a excited or happy gurgle/coo out of him because he knows Papa is near or around.  | Yet another thing Jack loves to do when it comes to entertaining his boy is to uses one of his many stuffed animals as like puppets and add funny voices to each of them with their own little personalities as a way to either make Malik laugh or a way to comfort him when super upset.  | NOW ON SOME MORAL ISSUES / PROBLEMS BETWEEN B & J. |  As mention before when Bruce & Jack are out and about as Batman & Joker handling criminals or villains or other hardcore crimes in Gotham, while they tend to usually work well together on a case or being a power house duo. They tend to have their every now and then non-stop back & forth arguments with each other on dealing with Batman/Bruce *No Killing code* ,  Jack ‘Joker’ deeply feels that some or a good half of most of the scumbags they deal with...especially ones who’ve done things like Rape or child abuse & such would be much better off dead instead of them lock in prison and yet every time when Jack expresses these thoughts or what he feels should be done, its always ends up in a fight on morality or on “what heroes can’t do” with Bruce. Bruce sometimes have to constantly reminds Jack on not going way too hard when they be crime-fighting criminals or even the big names villains since he knows how much violence gets Jack riled up or seriously turn him on or how he tends to enjoy it a bit too much sometimes, Bruce has to reminds Jack that if he does kill or goes off the edge again then all that hard work on bettering himself would be for naught or if he gets sent back to Arkham again then Malik wouldn’t have his loving Papa around anymore. While Jack still seriously don’t believe in the whole “Heroes don’t kill” junk, he wouldn’t for the life of him ever risk losing his little prince;  But one thing for sure with Jack that if anybody and he means anybody whether they be mob bosses or low goons or high level super-villains or basically anyone ever tries to do anything to harm his baby boy...then they can kiss their asses goodbye for good because he’ll make sure there killed painfully and horribly in the most worst ways possible...he doesn’t care if it against Bruce code at all, like if someone trying to hurt his son in any kind of way there dead period end of story. He sure that Bruce can at least understands that.
your son is going to love you
Summary: Peralta dads are cursed, destined to have terrible relationships with their sons. When Jake finds out *he's* going to have a son, he spirals. Amy helps.
goes without saying that if you haven’t watched 7x10 yet maybe don’t read this
She wakes up at 2am needing to pee.
She’s been waking up needing to pee a lot lately.
It’s like their baby has no respect for her sleeping pattern, perfectly honed over the years to maximise productivity, while still fitting in the full 8 hours of sleep needed a day. Their baby doesn’t care about the 8 hour recommendation, he laughs in the face of scientists. With the bad back and heart burn and constant kick, kick, kicking of her bladder, she’s averaging 4.7. She thought babies didn’t start keeping you up all night until they were born but, oh, how wrong she was.
She pats her husband to wake him up and come keep her company. If she’s awake because of their baby, then damn it, he’s going to be awake, too. But he’s not there, leaving her hand awkwardly patting a bare mattress.
“Jake?” She murmurs groggily, sitting up and switching on her bedside lamp. She’s half-expecting him to be sitting in the armchair playing Mario Party on his Switch (he has become a little bit addicted in the last few months and it wouldn’t be the first time she’s found him trying to beat Wario in the early hours of the morning) or have left a note beside her bed that he had a lead on a case and needed to go in with a scribbled ‘love you’ underneath and a lopsided heart. The armchair is empty, but there’s a light on down the hall and since there’s no way she forgot to turn it off before bed (she triple checks), she figures that it must be Jake.
Forgetting the whole reason why she woke up in the first place, she grabs Jake’s hoodie from the floor for warmth and pads into their living-kitchen-dining area. It’s the open plan-ness that made her fall in love with the apartment upon first visit and submit all her paperwork as soon as she was out the door. It’s the open plan-ness that would make the Property Brothers proud and the dumb people who go on that show foam at the mouth with jealousy. It’s the open plan-ness that allows her to see her husband straight away, snacking on the unfinished party food.
(Apparently people don’t feel like eating after a man cuts his thumb off and spurts blood everywhere. Who’d have thought?)
There’s a weird, pensive look on his face that draws her towards him.
“You OK, babe?”
“Yeah, yeah, I’m fine,” he responds. He pops a tomato from the salad bowl in his mouth, then another, then another.
She narrows her eyes. He never eats tomatoes unless they’re in ketchup or on top of a famous Sal’s pizza. Something is wrong.
She thinks back on their day, mentally rewinding the events from waking up to the morning briefing to their private sex reveal in the break room and finding out they’re having a boy (the empty cake box and blue frosting around Scully’s mouth was very surprising indeed). They were both floating on Cloud 9 all afternoon, came home and Zoomed the entire family, falling asleep on the couch around 9.30pm because pregnancy is exhausting.
Nothing particularly awful stands out.
Unless...
“Are you thinking about your Grandpa?”
He’d been so excited to see him again, so excited to reunite Walter Peralta  with Roger, The Admiral with the Captain. To be honest, Amy was less than impressed. He’d been nice enough to her, asked her about her job, about the baby, small talked about the weather. But he never asked her about Jake, probed about the 20 odd years of his grandson’s life that he’d missed out on. Which is frustrating because she has a lot of embarrassing stories ready to tell and a whole photo album of Jake on her phone. He couldn’t care less about Roger or Jake, storming out of the sex reveal party after calling his son a screw up and turning off his phone so they couldn’t get in contact with him. He’s a selfish dick and her husband deserves better. Still, he won’t be thinking about what a monster Walter turned out to be, he’ll be finding ways to blame himself that yet another father walked out of his life again.
He nods silently and she leads him to the couch.
“Talk to me, Jake.”
He releases a shaky breath. “The Peralta’s are cursed.”
“With devastatingly handsome good looks?” She half-jokes, trying to lighten the mood. Because, hello, her husband is hot; she constantly overhears other women in the precinct talking about his glow up and it would be impossible to ignore the female attention he gets in bars and even just walking down the street before he scratches his face to show off his wedding band and wraps one arm proudly around his wife’s shoulders. She’s seen the pictures of a young Roger Peralta, too, and with that charm smile... she gets it.
“Thank you,” he smiles briefly, “but no. Peralta dads are cursed with terrible relationships with their sons.”
“That’s not going to be you,” she says without hesitation, without a shred of doubt.
“How do you know?” He launches into a scathing personal indictment that leaves his cheeks stinging with tears. “I’m immature, obsessed with my work, messy, always late. My dad was never around when I was a kid. I don’t even know what dads do with their sons! And what if it’s in my genes? To be a crappy dad, abandon my kid like a dozen Peralta fathers before me. Your parents still don’t think I’m good enough. You didn’t even like me at first. It only makes sense that our baby would hate me, too.”
“Woah, babe. Slow down. Let’s unpack that one at a time.” She wipes away his tears with his hoodie sleeve and squeezes his hand. “First of all, you are way more mature now than you used to be. We bought a family friendly Sedan. You read parenting books. You were eating fruit, like, two minutes ago.”
“Tomatoes are fruits?”
“What? Yes, how do you not - not the point.” She shakes her head. “And so what, you enjoy your job. That’s a good thing, Jake! Do you understand how rare that is? You’re doing the thing you love while providing a decent income for our family. And besides, I’m way more obsessed than you. I have FOMOW, but that doesn’t mean I won’t love our kid more than anything. And as for the messy, late thing, if I can look past it because of how much I love you, so will our son.”
“Love you, too,” he mumbles.
“Now onto your point about not knowing what dads do, that is a straight up lie and we both know it, Peralta. You’re always hanging out with Charles and Nikolaj and Lord Knows Terry doesn’t shut up about all the activities he does with his girls.”
“I know what they do when I’m around, but what do you do when it’s 5am and they won’t go back to sleep?” He frets. “At what age do you introduce them to Die Hard? In Cry Hard With A Vengeance,” he quotes the parenting book she originally bought him as a joke but has kind of become his Torah, “Bruce Willis says right away, but what if he’s not ready to understand the complex plots? What if he prefers Timothy Olyphant to William Atherton? Oh my God, what if our son doesn’t think Die Hard is a Christmas movie?”
He’s spiralling and it’s a good job he’s with the only person who can truly calm him down.
“I think Bruce Willis is just trying to promote his franchise and that we’ll be watching more Paw Patrol than Die Hard for the next few years, babe, but I’m sure when he is old enough, he will love the movies as much as you.”
“Right,” he agrees, “you’re totally right. Action thrillers aren’t very baby friendly. I’ll just watch it on mute with subtitles.”
She laughs, her eyes crinkling in the corners. She loves him so much. Which segways them nicely onto his final two points.
“My parents do love you. Sure, they’re critical, but that’s just the way they are. They’re the same way to all of us. My mom complains to everyone she meets about how I can’t cook, how Tony hasn’t settled down and made her any beautiful grandbabies yet, even Perfect David faces her wrath when he goes a week without phoning her. If the worst thing my mom has to say about you is that you’re below average in height, you’re doing OK. And as for me apparently not liking you at first, I did like you.”
He furrows his brow. “But you said you found me annoying and difficult to be around.”
“Yet I didn’t ask to switch desks, continued working cases with you and went to Shaw’s whenever I was invited.” She stares at him pointedly. “If I really found you difficult to be around, I wouldn’t have stayed. I thought you were cute and funny and good at your job and yeah, you were annoying too, but,” she shrugs, “it never put me off.”
“So what you’re saying is that you had a crush on me first,” he grins.
“No. You obviously had a crush on me back then, too. What I’m saying is that I love you, our son loves you and you’re going to be a great dad.”
He blushes, ducking his head. “My dad said the same thing. About our son loving me.”
“He’s right,” she replies. “I feel him kick every time you get home from work, every time you sing to Taylor Swift in the car, every time I mention your name. Why didn’t you believe him?”
“I don’t know, still nervous about the curse, I guess.” He twists his wedding band on his finger.
Amy bites her lip. “Are you not excited about us having a boy?”
She has to ask. His excitement looked genuine in the break room, but it’s no secret that he was hoping for a girl. A mini-Amy, he said. While she’s always been more accustomed to boys considering the Santiago’s have, like, a million of them, Jake couldn’t get over the image of a little girl in dresses and doing ballet and with long, dark hair that he eventually learns to braid.
“Of course I am,” he’s quick to assure her. “Stupid excited. Never been more excited for anything. Not even the Ninja Turtles reboot. But still... nervous.” He rubs his hand over his face, muffling his voice. “Everyone is assuming what kind of dad I’m going to be. Whether I’m going to be good at it or not. To be fair, the only person who doubted me is that murderer I arrested last week, obviously not my biggest fan. Everyone else is convinced I can do it. What if I can’t? What if I’m genetically wired to be a bad dad? What if I disappoint you and our baby and Charles who has been dreaming about this forever?”
“Jake,” she softens her voice, pulling his hand away from his face, “the fact you are so worried about being a bad dad proves that you will not be one. Nor could you ever disappoint us.”
“But you’re my wife. You have to say that.”
“I would never have married you and become your wife if I thought you were the kind of person who could abandon your kid,” she promises him. “You have been perfect so far, dealing with all the vitamins and over-scheduled sex and washing my clothes when I sweat through them and holding my hair back when I’m being sick. You’ve been to every doctor’s appointment, read every binder, bought me every weird food craving. You hang out with the bump every night, talking and singing to it. I know you’re going to be a great dad, Jake, because you already are one.”
She kisses him and it’s soft and tender and filled with love, only interrupted by the kick, kick, kicking of their son.
“Hey,” Jake says in his best authoritative dad voice/John McClane dealing with German terrorists voice (he’s been practising in front of the mirror following Bruce’s advice), pointing a warning finger at the bump. “I’m going to kiss your mom as much as I want, Peralta. I loved her first.”
Amy giggles, stroking her fingers through Jake’s unruly curls. His bedhead is always wild and it’s maybe her favourite thing in the entire world. She silently sends a message of her own to their son to inherit his dad’s hair. And eyes. And handsome smile.
He kicks again as if to say ‘OK, mom’.
And then she really needs to pee.
1-Knitting
“Where’s Red Hood?” Nightwing asked as he landed on the roof of the building and looked over at the rest of the batfam.
    “He’s not coming.” Batman said as he crossed his arms and looked at Nightwing,
    “You’re late by the way.”
    “I know. I ran into some guys robbing a gas station.”
    “Hn”
    “Good talk B.” Nightwing chuckled and walked towards his brothers.
    “Good afternoon baby birdies.”
    “Hey, Dick.
    “Do you know where Jason is?”
    “He said he was taking the night off and that Bruce can fuck off.”
    “That gives me an idea!” Nightwing beamed at his siblings and then ran over to Bruce,
    “Hey! B! If Red Hood can take the night off then we should go visit him!”
    “No.”
    “Come on Bruce. You know how Jason gets when he’s alone.” Tim said as he leaned on his bo staff,
    “No. We have patrol.”
    “Father. We should go see Todd.”
    “Yeah B!” Stephanie said as she bounced up and down. Cass smiled and stood silently behind Steph. Bruce looked at each of his kids and sighed. He knew when he was outnumbered and when he lost. Because when it comes to his kids he really couldn’t tell them no. So away they went to Jason’s apartment. Somehow halfway there Dick and Steph turned it into a race, Dick won of course.
    “Soooo front door or window?”
    “The front door is for normal people.” Dick said with a smile.
    “Window it is.” Tim said as he pried the window to Jason’s apartment.
    “....Do you hear music?”
    “Jason’s listening to music.”
The family slowly crept into the apartment. Only one light was on and that was to the living room. They walked towards the living room and they each froze. Jason was sitting in a rocking chair humming along to the soft music that was playing through the radio with knitting needles. Was he knitting a sweater, oh my god he was. Dick put his hand on the wall but ended up knocking something off the wall. Jason jumped off of the rocking chair and looked behind him. Damian and Tim both covered their mouths to not laugh. Jason was wearing a fluffy pink sweater with a cartoonish red bat.
Jason’s face turned a very bright red,
    “WHAT ARE YOU DOING HERE!”
    “We came to visit you. Oh my god, you’re adorable in that!”
    “Please stop.” Jason sighed and looked away. Stephanie squealed as she grabbed something out of a basket.
    “It has my name on it!” Jason looked over to Stephanie and sighed.
    “I made it for you. I uh..made everyone something.” As soon as those words left his mouth Steph grabbed the basket and dumped everything on the floor,
    “Oh come on Steph!” She gave everyone whatever had their names on it. Dick had a pair of black and blue gloves, Damian had a green scarf that had the Wayne family crest, Tim had a red and black hat, Cass had a hat with tiny bat ears.
    “Aww, Jay! Where did you learn how to knit anyway?”
    “When I was in France with the league I met an old woman who didn’t have any family willing to visit her. So I stayed with her when I was able too. We talked and she should me how to knit. She said I was the best grandson she knew. She uh..died shortly after. So whenever I’m missing her I knit.”
    “I’m sorry Jason.”
    “Jaylad…”
    “I-It’s ok. I swear it is.” He was tackled by all of his family in a giant hug.
    “Guys...can’t...breath..” They let go of him slowly.
    “So. Got any stories about the lady?”
    “Cecile Bisset. She was the sweetest old lady.”  That whole night was full of Jason telling stories about Cecile and knitting a sweater. Once the sweater was done he handed it to Bruce.
    “There you are.” Bruce stared at the sweater and smiled. It was black with pink cuffs and had “Best Bat Dad” on it.
    “Happy early father’s day.”Bruce sat the sweater to the side and hugged Jason.
    “I love you son.”
    “Love you too dad.”
2-Horse Back riding
    “Soo. Jason ran off.” Bruce sighed loudly as he turned the chair to look at his kids.
    “Why?” Dick shrugged at Bruce’s response.
    “I don’t know. He said he needed to leave Gotham for a bit.” Bruce sighed again and grabbed his phone. He went into his contacts and called Clark.
    “Clark. Is Jason either over at your place or coming over?.... We’ll come by in about an hour.” Bruce sat his phone on the batcomputers desk.
    “He’s at Clark’s?” Tim asked as he sat down in his swivel office chair and spun himself around
    “He’s at the Kent’s place in Smallville.” Tim stopped spinning in the chair and looked at Bruce,
    “Why’s he at the Kent’s?”
    “I don’t know. But we are going to go see.”
    “Cool. Let’s follow the Red Hood and see what he does on the weekend.” Damian said as he looked over at Stephanie who was standing on the t-rex’s head as she played with the stuffed knitted bear that Jason made for her.
    “He knits on the weekends Dami!” She said with a smile.
    “Steph get off the t-rex.”
    “Sure B.”
    “So...shall we go get our wayward birdy?” Dick smiled as he looked around at his family, Tim sighed loudly and got off his chair.
    “Fine.” Dick rolled his eyes while Bruce tried not to smack his face with his palm.
    It took them twenty minutes to get on the road and towards Smallville. Bruce really needed to talk to Jason about running off without telling them. They worry about Jason, they’re scared he’ll get hurt while they aren’t there with him. When they reach the Kent’s farm, Clark was waiting for them outside the farmhouse. He smiled at the Wayne’s.
    “Hey, guys! How was the drive over?”
    “Where’s Jason?” Bruce ignored the question, he only wanted to see his son. Clark smiled,
    “He’s in the back with Ma and Pa. Come on.” He seemed eager to show them something. And when they got to the back they realized why. Jason was riding in a circle with a beautiful black horse. They could see a bright smile on his face. Ma Kent walked over to them and offered them some lemonade.
    “Good to see you boys again.” She smiled at them.
    “I didn’t know Jason could ride horses.”
    “He’s really good at it. Cause he can’t really take the horses to Gotham he keeps them here. Thanks, Ma.” Clark said as he took a glass of lemonade from his mom. Jason noticed them and smiled at them, he pulled on the horse’s reins making the horse stop. He got off the horse and handed the reins to Pa Kent who gladly took it. Jason walked over to them and crossed his arms with a playful smile.
    “What’s going on guys?”
    “You can ride horses too?”
    “Yep.”
    “Let me guess, someone taught you when you were traveling?”
    “Oh yeah. I stayed with a nice family in Mongolia. They taught me how to ride horses. They also showed me how to shear sheep.”
    “Jesus Jason. Anything else you can do that we don’t know?”
    “Eh probably. But I’ll let you figure it out later.” Jason said as he put his hands in his pocket. Damian was staring at the horse with wide eyes,
    “What’s his name?”
    “Shade.”
    “I love him.”
    “I know you do Dami.”
    “Father-”
    “No Damian.”
    “TT.”
The Waynes joined the Kent’s for dinner that night, when they finished dinner the Waynes headed to the car.
    “How did you get here Jay?” Tim asked as he opened the car door.
    “My bike.”
    “You wanna come with us? It’s late.”
    “I’ll be fine dad. I’ll see you guys at the manor?” Bruce nodded
    “Oh yeah. We still gotta do movie tonight.”
    “Damn. I forgot about that.”
    3-Hair Braiding
    “Ow! Dick be careful!” Stephanie winced as Dick pulled her hair.
    “Sorry, Steph! I’m not really good at braiding.”
    “You don’t say.”
Jason watched them from the doorway fixing his tie.
    “Move out of the way Dickie.” Jason all but pushed Dick away from Steph,
    “What are you doing Jay?” Stephanie asked Jason as he gathered the middle of her hair,
    “Your hair has bee brushed right?”
    “Of course.”
    “Good.”  Jason split the hair into three sections and crossed the right section under the middle one. He took a thin section of her hair and added it to the right section before crossing it under the middle one. He did the same thing with the left side and kept doing it until he reached the nape of Steph’s neck, when he got to her nape he did a standard braid and loosened the outer strands of the braid to make it seem fuller.
    “There.” Jason took a step back and looked at his work with a proud smile.
    “Oh my god! I love it!” Steph squealed happily as she turned and wrapped her arms around Jason in a hug.
    “Let me guess...traveling?” Dick said with a smirk. Jason laughed
    “Oh yeah. I stayed with a woman in the Netherlands who really liked to braid hair, she should me how to do it.”
    “Thank you so much, Jay!”
    “I’m glad you do Steph. I gotta finish getting ready for the Gala.” He turned around and walked out of the room leaving Steph and Dick to talk about her hairstyle.
    4-Makeup
Jason headed to his room after he left Steph and Dick when he overheard Tim and Cass,
    “I’m sorry Cass, I’m not really good at makeup that’s not...cover up.” Jason looked in Cass’s room. Cass was sitting in front of her vanity mirror while Tim was brushing her hair. Cass pouted a bit.
    “Need help with some make-up Cassy?” Tim and Cass looked over at Jason,
    “Yes.”
    “What look were you hoping for?” She pointed to a picture in a magazine. Red and yellow mixed eyeshadow, butterfly looking hairclips, and matte pink lipstick. Jason nodded and got to work. He blended the red and yellow eyeshadow in the middle to make it orange, he used eyeliner and mascara. Once he finished her eye makeup he put her matte pink lipstick,
    “And you’re done.” Cass smiled at the reflection and then hugged Jason,
    “Thank you.”
    “No problem Cassy.”
    “I’m not even gonna ask where you picked that up.”
    “Believe it or not. Talia showed me how to do makeup.”
    “I don’t believe it.” Tim said as he grabbed his suit jacket off of Cass’s dresser,
    “So, you ready for the Gala Jay?”
    “I guess.” With that, the three siblings walked downstairs to meet their dad for the Gala.
    5-Belly Dancing
Dick really never expected to find Jason in the dance studio as an instructor. A Belly Dancing instructor. Dick, Cass, Steph, Tim, and Damian watched from the class door watching as Jason told the class what they were going to do.
    “Firstly we are going to make a big outer hip circle.” He said as he moved his hips in a big circle,
    “Our pelvic region is gonna stay in neutral, as we push and shift our weight from toes, heels, and the edges of our feet. As you can see I’m pushing my hips in a nice big counter-clockwise circle and making sure I keep it all equal. How far I go forward is how far I go backward. It probably won’t come naturally to any of you, but why not give it a try.” Jason watched the class as they tried to copy Jason.
    “Heather, don’t sway your hips like that. Keep it natural not club dancing. Good job Keira. A tip is to try and keep your pant line even with the floor. Don’t tip a hip up. Keep your spine straight guys. Don’t bend and don’t go so big you lose your balance.” He said as he kept making his hips go in a circle.
    “....I think we should leave Jason to his class.”
    “...I’m having him teach me this.”
    “Dick no.”
    “Dick yes.” Tim grabbed Dicks’s ear and the siblings walked out of the dance studio and away from Jason. Tim needed bleach in his eyes to get rid of the image of Jason moving his hips like that. It was not something he ever wanted to see. From Damian’s reaction, he agrees with Tim.
+1-The family surprises him
Jason yawned as he made his way up to the main door to the manor, he didn’t bother to knock. He just pushed opened the door, he took one step in and saw his family all trying to belly dance.
    “What in the..”
    “Ah, Master Jason. Would you like some tea?” Alfred walked up to him with a tray of tea
    “W..what’s going on?” Jason asked as he looked in horror as Bruce tried to sway his hips,
    “It seems Master Dick wanted the family night to be used to learn Belly Dancing.”
    “...Can I go to the kitchen...I don’t need to see Bruce swaying his hips anymore…”
    “Of course.” Jason walked into the kitchen, for the second time that night he froze. Talia and Selina were sitting at the table drinking coffee and talking. Like friends.
    “He came from nowhere and said ‘I’m Batman.’ Like it was supposed to mean something to me at the time.” Selina said as she took a sip of her coffee. Talia laughed and looked over at Jason.
    “Habibi, come sit with us.” Jason smiled and walked over to the table and sat with the two women.
    “So, we’re talking shit about Bruce?”
    “Of course we are.”
...
99% of the time, at least one resident of Wayne Manor was causing trouble. Even Dick and Jason, who hadn’t lived with Bruce for a long while, were known to be problematic in their visits to the Manor.
Last month, Tim not only managed to trip down the stairs, he did so whilst sleepwalking with a plate of pancakes in his hand. The incident arose many questions. How did he fall down the stairs? Why isn’t his neck broken? Tim sleepwalks? Didn’t I tell you to keep an eye on him? Where did he get the pancakes from? Wait did Alfred make Pancakes?
Two weeks ago, Jason and Dick put aside their differences decided to hum the mission impossible theme on their top-secret mission to infiltrate the villains lair and save the damsel in distress. The villain being Bruce, the lair aka the Batcave, and the damsel being their confiscated phones due to their previous night’s hijacking of the bat mobile. Jason tripped Dick, Dick fell down and bumped into the table, the coffee was spilt onto the floor, Bruce, otherwise unaware of their antics rushed in at the sound and slipped on the coffee, Jason laughed so hard he backed into one of the display cabinets, knocking it over, it fell down and narrowly missed Titus, Titus sprang up and barked so much that Tim wandered down stairs to find his brother’s and father in a heap on the floor, their mission thoroughly failed.
On Monday Damian thought not to tell the household that his latest pet was a python certainly not native to Gotham, let alone America, and did not think he should perhaps tell anyone that it was not in the glass tank he’d acquired to care for it. Alfred received a shock when he opened a cabinet in the kitchen to retrieve a dish, only to find a sleeping snake curled up.
Yes, it was safe to say that the Wayne residence was full of drama and mischief.
Today, the problem was you.
It wasn’t your fault. Not really. I mean, it’s not like anyone told you not to touch the stuff on the table in the cave. Nobody warned you that it wasn’t a good idea to mess around with some of the new gadgets Bruce was working on.
Ok so maybe Bruce had said something along the lines of;
“blah blah blah, don’t go into the bat cave without permission, more words, more talking, don’t touch anything, he’s still talking, the things down there are NOT for fun, they’re for work, something something, do you understand me?”
And yeah, you understood him. But like, he said not to go down there and touch stuff. So that’s why you did the opposite and did everything he said not to do. But c’mon. Isn’t it really obvious that you were going to do It anyway? It’s not like it resulted in too big of a problem.
“Uh, Bruce?” “No.” “But I-” “No.” “I really think you should-” “I’m working.” “Okay… but it’s just that,” “Y/n, I’m busy.” “... Bruceeeeeeeeeeeeee” “You can see I’m working.” “I know, but…” “… but what.” “No, it’s fine. You’re working, I don’t want to bother you.” “What did you want?” “Tell me that you’ll always love me no matter what.” “What did you do?” “Tell me.”
“I’ll always love you no matter what. Now what did you do?”
“I can’t get them off...”
You messed around with the prototype batcuffs Alfred and Bruce had been experimenting with. Bruce wanted to make them unescapable after the last time the Riddler managed to unlock them. The idea was for them to be Unescapable for the wearer, but not for the captor. Unfortunately they were in fact, unescapable for even Gotham’s Dark Knight.
Luckily for you, you had the smartest people in Gotham at your side, ready to tackle the issue.
Alfred and Bruce poured over the plans for the cuffs, certain that they could kill two birds with one stone by simply fixing the cuffs so that they were the real thing instead of broken prototypes, and therefore it could really be a valuable use of time.
Dick tried dish soap. It worked, he proclaimed, for rings stuck on peoples fingers, and it’s kind of the same thing really, when you think about it.
Tim pulled together an elaborate plan composed of several complex elements including but not limited to; the batmobile, rope and chain, an antique radio, several straws, the dish soap from earlier, a turkey sandwich, parts he’d need to unscrew from the garage door, a thorn from a rose between the colours of bashful blush and Scarlett Dream, two spoons, a canary and most importantly; something to burn metal with. He wanted a flame thrower, but on such short notice, promised that he could work with a blow torch if need be.
Safe to say Tim was put on bed rest until further notice.
Damian, grandson of the demon, son of Batman and Tahlia Al Ghul, Robin and well-trained fighter and weapons expert all round proposed an idea so practical, it was unclear why no one had thought of it before.
“Tch. I Don’t see why we don’t leave them to rot in them. It would serve them right. I wouldn’t be as stupid to lock myself in handcuffs.”
You’d responded with a glare and a “I won’t hesitate Bitch”, much to Dick’s delight.
Sometime later it became apparent that nobody had an idea and it was basically a good opportunity for an argument to occur between the members of your family, bar Alfred of course. (Alfred would never partake in such an opportunity.)
Bruce was hunched over his work bench, looking tired and frustrated. Alfred had prepared several cups of tea and strong coffee, most of which had remained untouched as Bruce tried to understand where the hand cuffs had gone wrong.
Dick had become very flustered, flitting around nervously, and wringing his hands like a worried mother. “Oh, my poor baby!” he cried, when you complained that your wrists were sore, throwing his arms around you. The hug was suffocating, but you were pretty sure he needed the comfort more than you did.
Tim escaped his bedroom and was sitting on the floor with one of the cups of coffee not meant for him, looking at the wall blankly. There was no further update for him, as he had not made any movement since sitting down.
Damian had left some time ago with Titus. As he was not allowed to pester Tim or you anymore, he’d declared that he was not going to waste his time on such a silly issue anymore and disappeared into the training room for practice.
And as for you. Well, you’re wrists were aching, your head hurt, and you were beginning to worry about how you were ever going to eat dinner if you couldn’t separate your hands enough to grab utensils. It was a very distressing thought, so you escaped upstairs just as Bruce yelled at Dick to sit down and for Tim to go to bed.
It was only when you went upstairs that you heard the loud music blasting from somewhere in the house. And judging by the fact that your brothers, Bruce and Alfred were downstairs, it could only mean one thing;
Jason was home.
You wandered into the workshop, an attachment for the garage that nobody seemed to ever go into except Jason. It housed all the power tools and handy man equipment that anyone could ever desire, despite the fact no one in the house ever used it. You weren’t allowed in there, usually due to your habit of touching things that were potentially dangerous. But Jason was a rebel, and he liked woodwork, and fixing things, so it became his designated zone in the house.
The music was louder in here, and Jason was banging his head along to a rock song currently playing.
“Hey Kid!” he called over the music when he saw you, adding a drum roll on the table for good measure.
“Why’s the music so loud?” You ask.
He walked to the stereo and turned it down slightly. “You losers were shouting in the cave when I got here and it was doing my head in. Anyway, what’s up?”
You hold your hands up so he can see the problem, and he observes with a frown.
“Didn’t know you were into that.” He comments casually, dodging a kick from you. “How’d you do that anyway?”
“I went and messed around with the stuff in the cave after I was told not to. Bruce can’t get them off.” You supply, and he scoffs
“Of course, B can’t.” He mutters. With a single movement; he grabs you by the waist and lifts you onto his work bench. He picks up your hands and examines the cuffs closely, turning them this way and that to get a good look. Humming along to the song, he searches through a few drill bits in the draw and finds one that looks like it’d fit into the lock on the cuffs. Without a word he sets to work, occasionally moving, or covering your hand his own as to not hurt them whilst he drills. Five minutes and one set of unescapable cuffs later, you’re free, and Jason’s packing away his drill and tools.
You’re rubbing your wrists gratefully when a thought occurs to you. “How’d you know it’d work?”
Jason grins. “He locked one of my hands to a radiator with the old ones a little while back. I drilled into that one and it worked, figured it’d work for this one since he still doesn’t know how I did it.”
You both wander down the hall, and your family is still fighting by the sounds coming from downstairs.
You both pause at the exposed stairwell that usually is hidden from sight.
“What do you say that we leave them there to fight for a bit and go get ice-cream?” Jason proposes quietly from behind you.
“I’d say that’s the best idea I’ve heard all day.”
