I know it's a fandom favorite to be poking fun at Lieutenant Little but...
I just don't think that shining what was he was meant to do anyway. Lieutenant Little was not doer, he was a rock. A foundation.
When it came to it, he was the one who kept Terror in order when Crozier was recovering, he was the one who Hodgson turned to when he became unsure for his involvement in the Netsilik Massacre. He was the one who was leading the reconnaissance parties during the walk, keeping in mind the Tuunbaq sightings, keeping track of the Mutineers. When everything fell down around them, he was the one who kept again and again to do the right thing.
He was not the last for nothing.
It's not that he never did anything well, it's that we're seeing his accomplishments from the perspective of those who know he was never meant to win.
I think he doesn't get enough credit.
hey quick question do we ever see Edward Little do anything well or even competently in the entire series?
like Irving communicates with the Netsilik and Hodgson is key in hitting the Tuunbaq with a cannon and Dundy shares Fitzjames's ability to rally the troops and Gore is a bright shining boy however brief but like
i don't think we ever seen Little succeed at anything even incidentally
#edward little amc#is one of my favorite character#I think that if only one thing had gone their way#he would have been brillia t#like if Dundy had not stopped him from saving Crozier#all he needed was a better hand#the terror

The Rift - Chapter Four
Pairing: Marcus Moreno x Marcus Acacius x Marcus Pike x f!Reader
Rating: Chapter is T, overall fic is E (18+ only, explicit smut)
Word Count: 2.9k
Warnings: ridiculous dialogue, pining between so many characters, unrealistic heroics technology used as plot contrivances
Summary: After the Heroics manage to close the Rift, trapping Marcus Acacius on the wrong side of time and space, the group enlists Marcus Moreno for help. The leader of the Heroics is still dealing with the fallout of the Rift, but he's fascinated by the unlikely visitor to their time... almost as much as he is interested in the FBI Agent who called him.
A/N: LOOK AT OUR LITTLE GUYS GO!!!! They're settling in nicely to their routine of talking late into the night ;)
Masterlist | Chapter Three | Next chapter>>
(Moreno)
Closing the Rift hadn’t solved all of Marcus’s problems, but then again, he should never have expected it to. Sure, the White House was much happier now that a giant crack in space was no longer glowing ominously just a few steps from the White House lawn, but the general public seemed to take any excuse to take to the streets. When the Rift had appeared, groups protested Heroics’ control of the area, despite Marcus’s repeated comments about being concerned with public safety and the general wellbeing of space and time in general. Now, predictably, people are angry that the Rift had been closed with little-to-no exploration of the phenomenon. And he gets it, really, he does. But his first priority had to be the safety of the city, not to mention the department’s accountability to the US Government. The powers that be had said “Shut the portal,” and Marcus wasn’t in any place to disobey direct orders.
He pinches the bridge of his nose again, pushing up the thick frames of his glasses as he does so, and glances at the muted plasma screen in the corner of his office. The news has been showing footage of the protests for hours now, and Marcus watches glumly as the camera zooms in on a hastily-written posterboard that reads “I WANTED TO SEE WHAT WAS IN THE LIBRARY OF ALEXANDRIA.”
His intercom buzzes, and Marcus angrily presses the ‘off’ button on the TV remote before answering, “Yes?” The metal stapler on his desk wobbles back and forth slightly, and the Heroic has to shake his head rapidly back and forth to force his powers back down to a low simmer.
“Someone from the FBI here to see you?”
Marcus’s stapler suddenly implodes on itself. Shit.
“Listen, will you National Security guys give it a rest?” he snaps irritably as the door opens. “We’ve got the situation under control. If I have any updates, I’ll contact you, but at the moment, consider no news is good news.”
The Agent looks surprised at the outburst. “I’m not from NSB,” he says slowly.
“Which department is coming to yell at me, now?” Marcus deadpans.
“My name is Special Agent Pike, I’m with Art Crimes.”
“...Art Crimes?”
“And actually, I really need your help.”
“Oh shit. Oh shit. Oh, shit.” The Heroic paces back and forth in front of his desk taking in everything Agent Pike had just told him. This is what happens when you’re pulled in a million different directions. His own research department had been begging for access, the CIA was screaming at him every day about Homeland Security, and the fucking President called him personally to ask what he was doing to make the Rift go away.
This is how mistakes happen. Things get missed, people get hurt. He sinks, with defeat, into one of the chairs in front of his desk.
“This man, you said he’s at your apartment right now?”
“Not mine, no. My, uh… my friend’s. Actually, more of a consultant. Yeah, a consultant. She’s a curator at the National Gallery of Art,” Pike says, as if this explains everything.
“Why involve this other person? This… museum employee?”
“I mean, she’s an expert,” the Agent says vehemently. “She’s a classical Archaeologist, was helping us with some smuggled artifacts relating to the Rift… Anyway, she’s brilliant, and I knew she’d be able to help, and sure enough, she’s speaking Latin like it’s a normal, everyday thing to do and teaching this guy English.”
“How long did you say this man has been in your custody?” Marcus asks.
“About eight hours.”
Marcus studies the Agent. He feels like being a public servant has beaten him down over the years, turning the once-optimistic superhero who wanted to save the world into the jaded, tired old man he is now. Agent Pike’s demeanor seems to indicate that he’d somehow escaped the gradual decline into pessimism. No, this was a man who loved his job wholeheartedly, and it showed. The fire in his eyes was galvanizing… and beautiful.
The Heroic stands abruptly. “I want to see him.”
(Pike)
Marcus hesitantly taps on your door, having no idea what to expect on the other side.
Even still, when the tall, broad man who was formerly dressed in full Roman regalia and is now wearing a faded Bryn Mawr hoodie and pajama pants and holding a box of Cinnamon Toast Crunch answers the door, Marcus is struck dumb.
“Hello!” the man announces seriously.
“Hey! Sorry. We’ve been practicing.” your face pops up near his elbow, giving Marcus a little wave.
“How are you today! I am fine, how are you!” the man at the door bellows loudly.
“What the…” Marcus Moreno mutters under his breath.
“My. Name. Is. Marcus. Acacius,” Marcus Acacius says haltingly.
“That’s his last name!” you pipe up with a giddy smile. “He is a general in the Emperor’s army.”
“See-ree-all,” Marcus Acacius says, holding up the box before grabbing another handful of his snack.
“That’s a tough word,” you shrug.
“You’re feeding a Roman general processed sugar from a box,” Marcus Pike says flatly.
“I’m sorry, I’m single-handedly teaching a Roman man how to speak modern English and you are criticizing my choice of food?”
“His name is Marcus?” the Hero asks skeptically.
“Yep,” you chirp brightly. “Marcus, meet Marcus. And you’ve already met Marcus. Hi Marcus, I don’t believe we’ve been introduced.” You hold out your hand for the newcomer to shake.
“This is chaos,” Marcus says as he takes your hand.
The General also offers his hand. “Hello, how are you today! I am fine, how are you!”
“I’ve barely been gone two hours,” Marcus says with a disbelieving laugh. “And he’s speaking full sentences.”
“Tee-vee is magic,” the General tells him. “I also come here by magic.”
“Pretty much,” the Agent agrees with a chuckle. “You okay?” he asks, looking at you.
“You showed up in the middle of the night with a man who happens to come from exactly the time of my expertise and area of study,” you say, leveling a finger at him. “I’m doing… amazing! Honestly, this is the most exciting day of my life.” Sobering, you glance between your new pupil and the leader of the Heroics. “What about him? Will he be able to return home?”
“Home,” Marcus Acacius nods enthusiastically. “To Roma.”
Marcus Pike looks at the hero with discerning eyes. He can see the lines on his face, the worry etched on his forehead. A man who’s in over his head, struggling to stay afloat as the pressure threatens to pull him under. He knows that feeling well.
The man shakes his head sadly, looking pained.
“No?” the Roman asks. “No Roma?”
“I… I don’t know,” the hero admits.
“Nescio,” you translate, and the man looks troubled.
The Hero glances over at Marcus, and something in his return gaze seems to spur him into action. “No, hang on,” Moreno adds. “The Heroics caused this mess. The Heroics will fix it. I’ll see to it.”
“How will I get in touch with you?” Marcus asks as he turns for the door. Moreno pauses, and looks back. “Let me give you my direct line, okay?”
Wordlessly, Marcus hands him his phone and watches as the man taps in his number and hands it back. He presses the ‘Call’ button, and the Hero’s own phone dings in his pocket before Marcus cancels the call.
“Now you’ve got mine, too.”
The Heroic flushes slightly, and nods. “I’ll be in touch. Marcus. And uh, Marcus.” He nods perfunctorily at the Roman general, and leaves.
“That was weird,” you laugh, breaking the silence that had fallen over the apartment.
“What was?”
“It was like he had a crush on you or something,” you tell Marcus.
He snorts. “I find that hard to believe.”
“Why? You’ve a good-looking man.”
Marcus tries to ignore the way his heart aches at your words. “Sure,” he jokes.
“What? I’m serious.”
“He’s the leader of the Heroics. He could do better.” It’s meant to be another joke, but it comes out slightly more maudlin than intended.
“That’s your protest? That he could do better? Hang on–Marcus, are you gay?”
“No!” The protest is far too loud. “I mean, I’ve dabbled. It’s not… y’know.”
“You should go for it,” you say, shrugging your shoulders in a way that’s meant to be nonchalant, but Marcus can see the strain behind your eyes with the effort of playing it cool.
“That’s not who I’m interested in,” he says quietly. He forces himself to look directly into your eyes as he says this, despite the pounding in his heart.
“Oh,” you whisper, your voice shaking slightly as you flash him a cautious, shy smile.
“Quid est?”
The question cuts through the moment, and Marcus turns to see the General holding a souvenir snow globe of the Parthenon and looking very confused.
“Your turn,” you tell Marcus with a laugh.
(Moreno)
It takes one week for the leader of the Heroics to call.
A few metal pens clink together in the sleek black canister on Marcus’s desk as he taps on the words ‘Agent Pike’ and puts the phone to his ear.
“This is Pike,” comes the response at the other end of the call.
“Hi–” Marcus clears his throat. “Hi. It’s Marcus. Moreno.”
“I know.” He can hear the chuckle in the man’s voice. “I hope you’ve got good news.”
“Yes, and no,” Marcus admits.
“Can I get the ‘yes’ first?” Agent Pike jokes.
“My team thinks they can recreate the energy blast that created the Rift without causing a massive explosion or a uh… black hole that swallows the entire planet.”
“That sounds like a positive,” the Agent says optimistically.
“The bad news is that they don’t know how long it’s going to take to invent that kind of technology from scratch. But I’ve explained the situation and the urgency behind it and I’ve got people working ‘round the clock to recreate the Rift and get Marcus Acacius back home.”
“That’s great,” the other man says cheerfully. In the background, he hears your voice cheering as well. “Sorry, I put it on speaker,” Marcus laughs.
“How is the General, by the way?” he asks.
“Oh, he’s fine. Learning more about modern life, has quite a few more words under his belt. We took him shopping for some new clothes the other day, that was… fun.”
Marcus snorts, trying to imagine a person from two thousand years in the past attempting to navigate a modern mall.
“And the two of you… you’re handling it? Keeping it quiet?”
“Oh, yeah. Haven’t told anyone else, obviously. We’ve been taking turns going to work, taking a few vacation days here and there, not raising any suspicions about our sudden odd behavior.”
“I appreciate it,” Marcus tells him sincerely. “Oh hey–I almost forgot. I have something for you. Bit of Heroics tech that might help you guys out.”
“Oh yeah?”
“Mmhmm. Can I stop by your colleague’s apartment later today to deliver it?”
“Yeah, of course,” the Agent answers. “We’ll see you then.”
(You)
This might be the best week of your life.
Hiding a fugitive Roman General in your apartment probably should be stressing you out, but instead you’re having the time of your life.
The situation, by default, has forced you into close proximity with Special Agent Pike, a man you’ve longed to know as more than just an occasional colleague from the moment you met him. At a minimum, he’s at your place every evening as soon as he can get away from work without people asking questions, but there have been several days that the both of you had called off and spent the day together with your temporary houseguest.
And then there’s Marcus Acacius.
A brilliant man, he’s done his best to adjust to his new surroundings. He certainly cut an intimidating figure dressed in full regalia on your doorstep at three in the morning, but even in his new wardrobe, he still manages to look just as commanding. He almost looks ‘normal’ standing in your kitchen, wearing khakis and a button-up and filling a glass of water from the tap, but there’s always a hint of otherworldliness about him that no amount of modern clothing can camouflage.
His eyes are sharp and astute, and his gaze always seems to make the heat rise to your cheeks. His presence seems to fluster Marcus as well; you notice him trip over his words on occasion, and you swear you saw the man blush when he had to help button the General’s new shirt after your little shopping trip.
If anything, having the two of them in your home feels… cozy.
You almost wish it didn’t have to come to an end.
A knock at the door startles you out of your reverie.
“Take bets, is that the pizzas or the Heroic?” Marcus chuckles from his spot on the couch.
“It’s the pizza,” you call out when you open the door to the intoxicating smell of cheese, bread, and garlic. As you’re paying the deliverer, however, the stairwell door opens and Marcus Moreno walks hesitantly toward you.
“Is this a bad time?” he asks. “You guys look like you’re about to have dinner.”
“Of course not! We thought maybe you’d like to stay and have some, so we got extra.”
“I wouldn’t want to intrude…” he begins.
Hearing the exchange, Pike joins you at the door and beckons the man in with a little jerk of his head. “Don’t be silly. Come have dinner with us.”
Marcus Moreno hesitates for just a moment longer, and then shrugs. “Okay.”
After spending most of the week together, you, Marcus, and Marcus have settled into a dinner routine. You line up and open the pizza boxes as the Roman grabs a stack of plates from the cabinet and Marcus fills four glasses with ice and water and carries them to the table.
“Hello, how are you?” Marcus Acacius asks the Heroic politely.
“Hey,” Moreno grins. “You look like you’re settling in.”
“I am very well,” the man answers. “Pizza is a very good food.”
The Hero laughs. “You’re right about that.”
The four of you eat dinner in companionable silence. As usual, the General eats far more than anyone else, finishing off almost an entire pizza by himself. You can’t help but wonder about his life in Rome–what he does, what he eats, where he lives. You’ve tried to ask, but the language barrier forces your conversations to be short and simple. You wish you could talk to him, really talk. He must have some incredibly interesting things to say…
After dinner, you pour four glasses of wine. The Roman grins widely at you, flashing his teeth. “Vino, excellent,” and you smile back, ducking your head a little and subconsciously glancing over at Pike. You aren’t sure what you’re worried about–jealousy, maybe?–but the Agent nods fondly and raises his glass in a silent toast.
“Let me show you what I brought,” the Heroic announces as the four of you sit in the living room. He reaches into his pocket and pulls out a couple of devices that are slightly larger and thicker than cell phones, but not by much.
“We actually developed these to speak to aliens back when we were dealing with that situation with the Throqans several years ago. They were indispensable in helping us communicate and deescalate what could have turned into some kind of intergalactic war,” Marcus Moreno explains, switching one of the devices on. “It wasn’t until after that we realized we could program it to translate human languages. I had someone add a new function just for you. Here, say something.” He holds the device up to Marcus Pike.
“Uh… this is me, saying something.”
Immediately, the device emits a string of perfect Latin. The General perks up, cocking his head to the side and examining the device intently.
“These will translate anything you say in English into Latin, or vice versa,” Moreno says, and the words are again repeated back in Latin. “You want to try?” he asks, holding the device out to Marcus Acacius, who takes it carefully in one large hand and says something into it.
“So many times every day I say to myself, ‘This thing must be magic,’ and I find I must say it once again.”
You let out a little shriek of delight. Marcus Pike laughs joyfully and claps the Heroic on the shoulder.
“This is incredible! Marcus, thank you,” he says, his hand still on the man’s shoulder. You don’t miss how the very tips of the Hero’s ears turn pink.
“It’s the least I could do. They all come with earpieces, too, so you can each automatically hear translations of everything that’s said.”
The Roman speaks into the translator again. “Do you also bring news of when I might return home?”
Marcus Moreno bites his lip. “I wish I could say I did, but I don’t. The technology is still only theoretical. We’ve been running tests, but so far, nothing has been successful.”
Acacius listens to the translation, nodding slowly and looking somewhat disappointed. Suddenly, though, he brightens, and speaks again.
“Ah well, if there are more pizza dinners in my future, then so be it.”

Can I request LaSquadra with a member that is really good at giving massages and offers to give them one? Whether it be hand, back, or a full body massage.
Hey! Sorry this one took some time to get out but I hope you enjoy it!
︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵︵‿︵‿୨♡୧‿︵‿︵
Risotto:
Risotto holds more tension in his shoulders than anybody else in his group of assassins. His muscles are tight here, wound up and sore from too much stress.
If you offer a massage while he’s working, he won’t complain in the slightest even though he already knows he’ll be distracted.
His eyes will slip closed as you work the heavy responsibility from his arms; his head tilted to the side ever so slightly. He’s not sleeping, merely appreciating.
He won’t ask for massages, not wanting to ever badger you about something he feels is a gift more than a requirement, but he’s incredibly grateful when you offer.
Risotto will return the favour when you least expect it and he’s shockingly good at using his stand to get to the deepest parts of the muscle.
Formaggio:
Formaggio doesn’t appear to have much stress when you first run your hands over his shoulders, but he keeps most of his worry in his chest where it can’t be noticed.
He will immediately accept any offer of massages from you, dragging your hands onto his chest with a teasing comment and a flirtatious laugh.
He doesn’t bother to keep his hums of pleasure to himself and will constantly compliment you throughout the massage.
You’ll become his go to after every mission when he needs the small comforts that your affection provides. The fact that it comes with a relaxing chest rub is a benefit.
When you’re half-asleep on his chest is when Formaggio will offer a soothing massage to your shoulders with techniques he’s learned from you.
Illuso:
Illuso stores a great deal of muscle tension in his hips and pelvic floor which is quite hard to notice at first. When you mention it, expect teasing about how you noticed.
He’ll joke around a little when you offer a massage but your offer is binding and he will request it’s fulfilled immediately. No matter where you are.
Snarky comments will disappear as he relaxes beneath your skilled touch, hums of contentment sneaking out despite his best attempts to stifle them.
You’ve now become his personal masseuse and he’s going to make sure you know exactly when he’s in need of your touch.
Illuso won’t be the best at returning the favour through massages but he’ll be very happy to pay you back in other ways once you’ve finished.
Prosciutto:
Prosciutto doesn’t get as physically tense as the others do but he’s incredibly prone to tension headaches that he tries to ignore. It never works.
When you offer a massage, he’ll brush it off as unnecessary, although he won’t protest if you offer a second time. He doesn’t believe it’ll truly help for a while.
You’ll have to listen very closely to hear the soft sigh he makes when you manage to work a particularly tight knot from his muscles but it’s there.
He’s far too proud to ask you for a massage directly but he’s going to loudly make statements about his headaches in hope of prompting you into one.
It’ll take Prosciutto some time to work up to giving you a massage in return and when he does, it isn’t particularly good but he tries his hardest and that shows.
Pesci:
Pesci doesn’t suffer as much with tight muscles as the others because his stress tends to settle in his stomach instead, making him feel nauseous and ill.
If you offer a massage to help elevate the tension though, he’ll be beyond excited and gladly accept your offer with a faint blush and mild stammering.
He’ll murmur small thanks and words of appreciation throughout the massage and will give you fluttering kisses whenever he has the chance to.
He’ll certainly ask you for a massage when he gets a little tense, especially if it really helps him relax before jobs that would otherwise make him sick.
Pesci is nervous about offering you a massage in return but his gentle hands make him really brilliant at it.
Melone:
Melone gets very tense arms and hands mostly due to the work he does involving excessive use of his stand. You can easily suspect carpal tunnel in his wrists.
He’ll brush you off if you ask but you can take his arm and gently pull it to you to offer a massage while he’s working, one he won’t back away from.
He doesn’t give too many verbal clues that he’s enjoying your attention but his head will lull to the side and his eyes may flutter every once in a while.
He’s not likely to ask you for a massage in the future (mostly because they don’t often cross his mind) but he’ll gladly accept any offer.
Melone will return the favour to you unexpectedly, sweeping your arm across to his own and running his fingers along it as if tickling. He’s sweet with it, if not talented.
Ghiaccio:
Ghiaccio holds most of his stress in his lower back and he complains about this often. You can feel how tense these muscles are just by resting your palms there.
He won’t say no to a massage but he’s going to take a bit to settle down; he moves around too much for the process to go by smoothly.
You know it’s working when he goes quiet, words fading into nothing, and his eyes drift closed. He’s likely to fall asleep unless you change what you’re doing.
He’s not going to ask when he needs a massage and he’ll probably protest every single time you offer. He does want them; he just won’t admit to that.
Ghiaccio will demand he’s able to give you a massage in turn though you’ll definitely need to offer some advice to make him less rough.
Sorbet:
Sorbet sleeps away his stress when it gets overwhelming but it builds up in his neck and jaw more than anywhere else, making him feel constantly uncomfortable.
He’ll never reject the offer for a massage, it’s something he’s always wanted to indulge in but rarely had the time or trust in anybody beside Gelato.
He sighs deeply whenever you find a tender spot and leans his head toward you in a show of true trust. You can expect a soft kiss occasionally when you least expect it.
If you show yourself to be willing, he will quietly request a massage whenever the weight of his job gets a bit too heavy.
He’ll return the favour with gentle touches and smooth kisses as he acknowledges his lack of skill in finding the knots deep within your muscles.
Gelato:
Gelato is wound up like a spring almost all of the time; his every muscle is tight enough to make you wince in sympathy for him.
Getting him to sit down long enough to help relax his muscles in any significant way is difficult but even if you don’t manage it, he’ll appreciate the attempts.
He makes happy sounds when you offer him a massage, ones so cute that they’ll make your cheeks hurt from affectionately grinning at him.
If he feels particularly tense, he’ll definitely ask you in sweetened words if you would mind helping him out. He won’t expect it but it will make him extremely happy.
Gelato is surprisingly good at giving massages but they’ll have to happen in short bursts so he doesn’t get too distracted or bored.

Gravity Falls School-Related Headcanons
Both Dipper and Mabel are good students, although Mabel does occasionally get in trouble for getting distracted/not sitting still/talking in class, however, they're both generally considered to be good kids.
Dipper generally excels in all of his academic subjects, however his favourite subjects are biology and ancient history. He's usually pretty quiet in class, except every now and again he says either the most unhinged or most badass thing ever and everyone is freshly reminded that yes, Dipper Pines is, in fact, in this class (this is heavily inspired by my best friend who is exactly like that). Dipper doesn't hate PhysEd as much as he used to pre-Gravity Falls, however he's still not a huge fan of it.
Mabel's best subjects are the artistic ones, and she is instantly beloved by all the art teachers. She does a ton of extracurriculars, partially because she has a bunch of interests, and also because she has a tendency to join clubs and such because her friends/guys she's interested in are in them, and she has participated to some degree in every school musical she's had the chance to take part in. The only class she really struggles with a lot is maths, because it's 'too boring and logic-y' for her to stay focused on, particularly if Dipper isn't there to help her. She's also a cheerleader, because of course she is.
Friendgroup wise, Mabel has a lot of friendgroups. She has friends from all of her various classes and extracurriculars, friends she knows from elementary school (I had a long mindblank whereupon I forgot the word for 'primary school' in the USA, just thought I should let you know), and of course, she has extrovert-adopted Dipper and his friends. Despite this whole army of friends, she doesn't have any particularly close friends in Piedmont, and if she's asked who her best friend is, she'll respond with Candy and Grenda, who remain the only people who can quite match her energy.
Dipper, meanwhile, has pretty much had the same one best friend, named Ethan DiMarcos, forever. The two of them have very similar interests (although Ethan can't quite match Dipper's enthusiasm for all things paranormal), and tend to keep to themselves much of the time, and have pretty much had each other's back. While I'm not a huge fan of the idea that Dipper has been relentlessly bullied his entire school career and has no friends, it is canon that he has been victim of some bullying, and he's certainly not popular. Post-Gravity Falls, I think he's actually able to stand up to the bullies a little better, and generally he and Ethan have each other's backs. They do have a third friend, Paige Li, who they only met at the beginning of high school, because she was trying to find other DD&MD fans. Paige has had a crush on Dipper for ages, but despite Ethan and Mabel trying to pull strings, nothing is likely ever to come from it. Speaking of Ethan and Mabel, they did date for about a month in ninth grade, which horrified Dipper, especially since he was put in the middle of it when they broke up, thankfully amicably.
Now, I have said plenty about the Pineses, let's talk about what the other characters are like in school:
Candy's best subjects are chemistry, physics and music, and manages to be an impressively good student, despite reading fanfiction in class.
Grenda isn't necessarily the greatest student in most classes, however, she's BRILLIANT at English. For all she lacks in verbally diplomatic skills, she's incredibly smooth on paper. Grenda also, unsurprisingly, is also very good at PhysEd.
Pacifica's best subject is mathematics, and unsurprisingly she excels particularly at any finance-related maths. She's also the star of the school's debate team, because she has the power to crush people in the grip of logic. She also refuses point-blank to join the cheer team, even though they really want her.
Gideon's true calling is the stage, so drama class is his best class, although he's a brilliant student at most subjects.
Wendy and her friends are decidedly not good students, as they're all more interested in having fun and causing trouble than doing work (except Thompson, of course). This results in them being decidedly not the teacher's favourites.
I think that's all I got for now, thanks for reading!

The Phoenix Burns
Chapter 7: Fight of wills
Just as y/n extended her hand, the shadows around them seemed to shift, the darkness growing heavier and more menacing.
A cold chill ran down Y/N’s spine as she felt a presence behind her. Slowly, she turned, her eyes widening as she saw a tall, dark figure emerging from the shadows. The man was clad in a long coat, his face partially obscured by a plague doctor’s mask that gleamed ominously in the dim light.
“Ah... hard to admit I can't control my own child but lately Eri here's been defying me no matter what i try,” the man stated casually moving closer, his voice low and unnervingly calm. The authority in his tone made Y/N’s blood run cold.
She instinctively positioned herself between the girl and the figure, her heart pounding in her chest. “Who are you?” she demanded, trying to keep her voice steady despite the fear gripping her.
The man tilted his head slightly, regarding her with an air of detached interest. “I'm her father, Chisaki,” he replied cryptically, his eyes narrowing behind the mask. “And right now, I need my daughter to come back to me”
Y/N’s mind raced, trying to make sense of the situation. She glanced down at the girl, who was now clinging to her leg, her small body shaking with fear. There was no way she was going to let this man take her. She felt a firm hand grip her shoulder. Looking over to the green haired man they would share the same understanding before she turned back.
“No,” Y/N said firmly, squaring her shoulders. “You’re not taking her.”
The man sighed, almost as if he was disappointed by her defiance. “You don’t understand what you’re dealing with,” he said, taking a step closer. “This child is not your concern. Hand her over, and you can walk away unscathed.”
Y/N felt a surge of protective anger rise within her. “I don’t care who you are or what you want,” she snapped. “She’s not going anywhere with you.”
The man’s eyes flickered with something akin to irritation. “You’re making a mistake,” he warned. “This will not end well for you.”
Before Y/N could respond, the girl’s grip on her leg tightened, and she looked up at Y/N with wide, tear-filled eyes. “I'm sorry,” the girl whimpered, her voice barely a whisper. “You should go...”
Y/N’s resolve hardened. “I won’t let him hurt you again,” she promised, stepping back to put more distance between them and the man. “you're gonna be ok, I promise.”
The man’s gaze darkened, and he reached out a gloved hand toward them. “Enough of this,” he said coldly. “You leave me no choice.”
As he spoke, the air around them seemed to grow heavy with a suffocating pressure, and Y/N’s heart raced as she realized that this would not end with a simple fight. He was dangerous—far more dangerous than she had anticipated.
But that wasn't gonna stop her.
“Deku!” Y/N shouted, her voice ringing out through the forest as she called for backup. "Take Eri and alert the rest, I'll distract him"
The man’s eyes narrowed further, and a sinister smile played at the corners of his lips. “Ah, so you’re not alone,” he mused. “This might be more interesting than I thought.” Tilting his head slightly, his gaze hardening as he observed her defiance. Without a word, he moved his hand in a sharp, deliberate motion, and the ground beneath them began to shift unnaturally. Rocks and dirt disintegrated into dust, the very earth itself crumbling away as his quirk—Overhaul—began to take effect.
Y/N’s eyes widened in horror as she realized the extent of his power. The ground beneath her feet gave way, and she stumbled back, clutching the girl tightly as she struggled to stay upright.
"Run!" Y/N shouted, pushing the girl away towards Deku as she faced the man head-on. She couldn’t let him get close—not with that kind of power.
The man didn’t give her a chance to retreat. In an instant, he lunged forward, his hand outstretched to grab her. Y/N reacted on instinct, drawing on the energy stored within her from the sun. Her quirk flared to life, a brilliant light emanating from her palms as she unleashed a burst of solar energy directly at him.
The energy blast struck the ground between them, creating a blinding flash of light and heat. Overhaul was forced to halt his advance, his expression momentarily surprised by the intensity of the attack. But the surprise quickly faded, replaced by a cold, calculating focus.
He stepped forward again, and Y/N felt the earth tremble as his quirk began to disassemble the rocks and trees around them, turning them into jagged shards that hovered in the air. With a flick of his wrist, he sent the deadly debris hurtling toward her.
Y/N’s heart raced as she dodged to the side, narrowly avoiding the barrage of sharp projectiles. She spun around, sending another wave of solar energy crashing into the ground, hoping to disrupt his control over the environment. But Overhaul was relentless, his movements precise and controlled as he continued to manipulate the matter around them.
He’s not just powerful, Y/N realized with a sinking feeling. He’s a strategist. Every move he makes is calculated, and he’s not giving me a single opening.
But she couldn’t afford to hesitate. The girl was still in danger, and Y/N had to protect her no matter the cost.
Drawing in a deep breath, Y/N focused her energy, gathering as much sunlight as she could from the remnants of the day. The air around her began to shimmer with heat, and she could feel the power building within her, ready to be unleashed.
Overhaul, sensing the change, narrowed his eyes and raised his hand again. The ground beneath Y/N’s feet began to crack and shift, the earth splitting apart as he prepared to disassemble her.
But Y/N was faster.
With a fierce cry, she unleashed a massive blast of solar energy, directing it straight at Overhaul. The light was blinding, the heat intense enough to warp the air around it as it surged forward. For a moment, it seemed like she had overwhelmed him, the sheer force of her quirk pushing him back.
But then, to her horror, she saw him raise his hand, and the energy blast began to disintegrate, unraveling before her eyes as Overhaul’s quirk took hold. The brilliant light that had filled the forest was snuffed out in an instant, and the energy that Y/N had poured into the attack vanished into nothingness.
He can disassemble energy too?! Y/N thought in disbelief.
Before she could react, Overhaul moved with terrifying speed, closing the distance between them in a single stride. His hand shot out, and Y/N barely had time to dodge. His fingers brushed against her arm, and she felt a searing pain as the skin began to disintegrate, the flesh breaking down at his touch.
Y/N bit back a scream, her vision blurring as she stumbled back, clutching her injured arm. She could see the raw muscle beneath the surface, the damage rapidly spreading as Overhaul’s quirk continued to take effect.
But she couldn’t afford to fall here. She had to protect the girl, had to survive.
Summoning every ounce of her willpower, Y/N channeled the remaining energy within her, focusing it into a concentrated beam of light that she aimed directly at Overhaul’s chest. She knew it was risky—if he disassembled it again, she’d be out of options—but she had no choice.
The beam shot forward, and Overhaul’s eyes widened ever so slightly as he realized the intensity of the attack. This time, he didn’t try to disassemble it. Instead, he raised his arm, the ground around him shifting as he created a wall of debris to block the attack.
The beam collided with the makeshift barrier, and the impact sent a shockwave through the forest, the ground trembling beneath them. Overhaul staggered back, his barrier crumbling under the force of the blast.
Y/N didn’t waste a second. She charged forward, using the last of her energy to close the distance between them. Her arm throbbed with pain, but she pushed through it, her determination driving her forward.
She had to end this.
But just as she reached him, Overhaul’s hand shot out again, this time aiming for her chest. Y/N twisted at the last second, but his fingers brushed against her side, and she felt the same searing pain as before, her ribs cracking as his quirk began to disassemble her body.
Y/N cried out, collapsing to the ground as the pain overwhelmed her. She could feel her strength slipping away, her vision darkening as the world around her began to blur.
“Pathetic,” Overhaul muttered, his voice cold and detached as he looked down at her. “You should have surrendered when you had the chance.”
Y/N struggled to stay conscious, her breath coming in ragged gasps as she fought against the darkness closing in around her. She couldn’t die here. Not like this.
But just as she felt herself slipping away, a burst of light filled the clearing, and Bakugou appeared, his explosive energy crackling around him as he charged at Overhaul with a ferocious roar.
“Who. The. Fuck. ARE YOU?!” Bakugou's scream only grew louder with each word until he was shouting at the top of his lungs, the raspy undertone hinting to how he had just woken up as his palms ignited with a massive explosion that sent Overhaul flying backward.
Y/N’s vision blurred, as she leaned against a tree, clutching onto her wound. She could barely make out the figures in front of her as Bakugou launched himself at Overhaul, his relentless assault driving the man back. The ground shook with the force of their clash, the air filled with the sound of explosions and the crackling of energy.
The man recovered quickly, his eyes narrowing behind the mask as he assessed Bakugou with a new level of interest. “So, you must be the infamous Dragonblood heir,” he said, his voice laced with a dark amusement. “I’ve heard quite a bit about you.”
Bakugou snarled, his explosive energy flaring up around him. “You’re dead,” he growled.
The man simply chuckled, his calm demeanor unfazed by Bakugou’s threat. “Such bravado,” he remarked. “But you’ll find that I’m not so easily intimidated.”
With a swift motion, the man reached into his coat, pulling out a vial filled with a dark, swirling liquid. “Let’s see how you handle this,” he said, tossing the vial to the ground.
The vial shattered on impact, and a thick, noxious cloud erupted from it, quickly enveloping the area. Y/N coughed, her vision blurring as the cloud surrounded them, and she felt a wave of dizziness wash over her.
“Bakugou!” she called out, struggling to stay conscious as the world around her began to spin.
Bakugou’s voice cut through the haze, sharp and commanding. “Don’t breathe it in! Look at me y/n...you're gonna be ok just stay with me damnit!" She felt his warm body against hers, two big arms holding onto her frame before darkness claimed her consciousness.
