President Donald Trump issued a warning to BRICS nations threatening a 100% tariff on their exports if they attempt to replace the U.S. dollar as their reserve currency or back any other currency to replace it. “We are going to require a commitment from these seemingly hostile Countries that they will neither create a new BRICS Currency, nor back any other Currency to replace the mighty U.S. Dollar or, they will face 100% Tariffs,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Thursday, mirroring an almost identical statement he posted in November, weeks after winning the presidential election. “They can go find another sucker Nation. There is no chance that BRICS will replace the U.S. Dollar in International Trade, or anywhere else, and any Country that tries should say hello to Tariffs, and goodbye to America!” he said. This is the latest in a series of threats the president has made toward foreign nations who refuse to bow to his demands. Almost every day during his first week in office, Trump vowed to slap countries (see: Colombia and Denmark) with some sort of economic sanction, a combative approach that, if successful, could affect everything from immigration to trade.  On Sunday, Trump announced and then reneged on tariffs and sanctions on Colombia because Gustavo Petro, the nation’s president, refused to accept deportation flights made on U.S. military planes.  The latest warning issued to BRICS countries is simply another example of how Trump is attempting to browbeat global governments to make gains on issues important to his base.

I don’t follow Donald Trump on Twitter but this was just sent to me.

My advice to anyone living in America? Stock up, before January. Phone chargers for certain. And food. Most American beef is imported from Brazil, so that and many other food costs will go sky high. Your clothes are from China, your knick knacks are from China.

BRICS was formed specifically to challenge America’s foreign policies regarding sanctions and threats like this. China isn’t going to bend over and just throw out this agreement that it’s been working on with Russia, India, South America, Brazil, and now more nations. Donald Trump clearly doesn’t know or care how tariffs work or who they hurt.

And no prepper channels I’ve seen have wanted to comment on this due to their loyalty to Trump. Even to say some of his ideas “might not be the best” instead of stupid or lunacy.

Palestinian minister: Country seeks to join BRICS

The Palestinian Authority’s Religious and Islamic Affairs Minister Mahmoud Al-Habbash also said that Brazil plays an influential role on the international stage. During his visit to the Latin American country, he attended a Muslim conference.

The Palestinian Minister of Religious and Islamic Affairs, Mahmoud Al-Habbash, told ANBA on Monday (2) that Brazil plays an influential role on the global stage and that this influence can be leveraged to garner more support for the Arab country’s causes.

Al-Habbash, along with the Palestinian ambassador and dean of the Council of Arab Ambassadors in Brazil, Ibrahim Alzeben; Al-Habbash’s advisor, Hamza Daana; Judge Maher Khudeir; and the embassy’s minister-counselor, Ahmed Al Assad, visited the Arab-Brazilian Chamber of Commerce (ABCC) on Monday morning. They were welcomed by the institution’s president, Osmar Chohfi, and secretary-general and vice president of international relations, Mohamad Mourad.

“Palestine has good relations with all the countries in the group. China, South Africa, and Russia are historically friendly nations to the Palestinian people. We have requested membership in the group and submitted a request to join the NDB (New Development Bank, the BRICS bank),” he said, noting that while BRICS is an economic cooperation bloc, economics and politics cannot be separated.
