Q: Besides the Devils, which team improved the most last season? A: I think Nashville

Q: Why? A: I mean, they definitely have some great additions, and overall they were a pretty good team last year. So they've gotten some really experienced players and some even more experienced players. I think they've improved a lot.

Q: Has there ever been a Nico Hischier Night at the Rock? A: No, I don't think so. I mean, I once had a Nico and Chico Resch Bobblehead Night.

Q: Let's say you get your own dedicated evening and you get to choose the giveaway. What would it be? A: I would make it so that everyone gets a really good Swiss chocolate.

Q: Is there a particular brand? A: Ragusa or Ovaltine

Q: Not Tolberone? A: No, you can get that everywhere. That doesn't count. But I like it too.

Q: Which athlete inspired you the most as a child? A: I would say Roger Federer. Pretty easy answer for a Swiss. I think he probably inspired a lot of people.

Q: Name one teammate that will surprise people this season. A: Jesper Bratt. It just feels like every summer or every season he has another (big) year. I can also name Luke Hughes. I think he's worked really hard this summer and is ready for his second year, so I'd say Luke as well.

Q: What talent of another player's do you wish you had? Probably Jack's (Hughes) smooth hands. They're pretty smooth, like always, not loud and just smooth.

Q: You probably mentor some of the younger players now. When you came into the league, which teammate was your mentor? A: When I came to the Devils, there were a lot of older players and I had some great mentors. Obviously, Andy Greene, our captain at the time, was one of the players I looked up to. I also remember Brian Boyle being there with me. And of course Travis Zajac, who's been with the Devils for a very long time. For me as a center and also for him as a center, I always watched his game and learned from him, especially the way he always played in our own zone. I think he was at a top level in the D-zone for many years and still created offense. He was definitely an inspiration to me as well, especially watching him on the faceoffs.

Q: What is the next non-hockey trip you would like to take? A: A private trip to Costa Rica.

Q: Is this going to happen or is this just a plan? A: Just a plan.

Q: What's something most people don't know about New Jersey or the Tri-State Area? A: That we have great bagels. Everyone knows that.

Q: What don't the Swiss know about New Jersey? A: Swiss probably don't know much about New Jersey at all. [Neither did I when I was younger.] Jersey has a lot to offer. Jersey has its beaches. Jersey also has its nature and yes, it has all that. The location on the east coast is very good. In Jersey you will find what you are looking for.

Q: Who is the most disciplined nutritionist on the Devils? A: Probably Bratter.

Q: What does he do? A: He's just a super healthy guy. He knows what he eats and what gives him energy, and he's just a very intelligent person when it comes to what he puts in his body and what he does with his body. Yes, he's worked hard on himself and knows a lot.

Q: What is the best rivalry in the NHL today? A: I would say New York Rangers versus New Jersey Devils. I'll take that.

Q: Unfortunately Switzerland won't be playing in the 4-nation face-off. Will you still be watching and who will you be picking? A: Yes, I will be watching on the beach somewhere. I will definitely be watching and it should be really interesting games because they are all great, great teams. They will all have very good teams. I'm probably picking USA. It's hard to pick one team because every team is obviously very strong.

The second season of Danny Phantom continues the emotional and exciting adventures of the main character. It is packed with action, humor and exploration of more complex themes. Character development and raised stakes add depth to the story. While there are slight flaws in some episodes, overall this season is a great addition to the first and will appeal to fans of the series.

Oh yeah for sure, lol sorry I have a tendency to default to vagueness when I'm talking about anything outside of fandom.

There's a lot, I went on a spree for a few weeks lol, so this is under a cut

Only one I've read cover to cover so far is Armed Forces: Masculinity and Sexuality in the American War Film - Robert Eberwein which was both interesting and frustrating in that a lot of it was (mildly defensively lol, as a response to a lot of queer film theory) explaining how a lot of homoerotic shit isn't intended to be interpreted as actually gay, but I'm glad I read it because I was specifically trying to understand how contemporary audiences viewed homoerotic shit.

Massachusetts News: Mexican National, Miguel Angel Torres Morales Indicted on Heroin Trafficking Charges

Law enforcement seized four kilograms of suspected heroin during arrest

BOSTON, Ms. – A Mexican national was indicted by a federal grand jury yesterday in connection with drug trafficking activities that resulted in the seizure of approximately four kilograms of suspected heroin.

Miguel Angel Torres Morales, 39, was indicted on one count of possession with the intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin. Torres Morales was arrested on Aug. 21, 2018, and charged by criminal complaint; he has been detained since then.

According to court documents, a cooperating witness arranged to purchase four kilograms of “china white,” referring to fentanyl, from a large-scale narcotics distributor for $55,000 per kilogram. The distributor agreed to deliver the drugs to the cooperating witness using a courier. On Aug. 20, 2018, Torres Morales drove a tractor trailer to the area of the “Park and Ride” parking lot on Granite Avenue in Milton to deliver the drugs.

Federal agents stopped the tractor trailer and, in a cabinet behind the driver’s seat, located four brick-packed kilograms of tan powder wrapped in cellophane. A field test of the powder tested positive for heroin.

The charge of possession with intent to distribute one kilogram or more of heroin provides for a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison and up to life, a minimum of five years and up to a lifetime of supervised release, and a fine of up to $10 million.

Torres Morales will be subject to deportation proceedings upon completion of his sentence. Sentences are imposed by a federal district court judge based upon the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.

United States Attorney Andrew E. Lelling and Brian D. Boyle, Special Agent in Charge of the Drug Enforcement Administration, New England Field Division, made the announcement today. Assistant U.S. Attorney Lauren A. Graber of Lelling’s Narcotics and Money Laundering Unit is prosecuting the case.

The details contained in the charging documents are allegations. The defendant is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.

Okay, I should have deleted question 2 when I reblogged that (except you can’t edit posts anymore) because like this question is awful. Because like okay I can list a bunch of players that fit the requirements, but then my hockey brain goes “they won’t play well together!” or “but he needs him on his wing or to be his partner” and then I struggle. I’m sorry. I’m that asshole who can’t just do this. But... I’ll try... just for you...

2. build a starting lineup:

a) based on looks

Roope Hintz, Patrice Bergeron, Kevin Fiala.

Ben Chiarot, Roman Josi.

This is the best I could do to make a starting lineup that doesn’t make me want to scream. Patrice can play-make for them pretty well. I would have liked to have Blake in there, but Kevin is prettier. They’re both right wings. Blake is probably prettier than Roope, but he’s not as good playing his off wing. Roope is really a center, but he can play left well enough and does. Both Ben and Roman have taught themselves to be stay-at-home, so they can argue over who gets to roam, but maybe neither of them will and I can actually enjoy the game. Henrik is just so pretty. He’s getting old and isn’t as good as he used to be, but fuck he’s so pretty. 

b) for comedic effect

What does this even mean?! Like am I supposed to envision Matt Tkachuk and that asshole that’s not even a King anymore on the same team? That’s gross. I don’t get what ‘comedic effect’ means unless they’re looking for something like that, or like someone playing with someone who previously hurt them. Which isn’t funny either. Someone tell me what this means.

So Marty’s on his off wing, he can Mats can fight that one out. I don’t care that all but two of these players are retired, I hate this question anyway. But all three of those forwards play(ed) huge and small and fast will always beat big and slow. Danny will stay home and Brian will go wandering and that’s okay. I wanted to pick Tim Thomas, but the dude is crazy and I just couldn’t. And I couldn’t really think of another goalie that was short. So you get what you got.

I didn’t base this on anything except coming up with six different nationalities and six different NHL teams. And I didn’t want to repeat any of my pretty people. And I needed one Swiss boy and one Finn. And one Bruin, Jet, and Star. So here. This would be a disaster of a lineup, but it fills the rules. And I’m done with this question.

32. what’s your favourite world juniors/world championships/olympic hockey moment?

*sigh* So here’s why I don’t love international hockey, especially Worlds. Yes, it’s an honor to play for your country. But it’s not where your paycheck comes from. It’s also not where your fame comes from. It’s something fun to do, but you don’t put your all into it. Unless you’re from one of the little countries, then this might be your only chance for the big stage and for some attention to come to your hockey program (and some money). So the best Canadians and Americans are playing in the playoffs, or they ended their season injured (because they played through anything for their team), or they don’t want to get hurt, so they’re not going to Worlds. The US and Canadian teams are never the best players, they’re the ones they could get. A lot of times the Russian, Finnish, and Swedish teams are similar (though not really this year). Then we get into the problem of ‘team’. These are guys that play against (and hate) each other all year long and now they’re supposed to play together? And they get a few practices, but no one is ever on the same page. Partners are always a mess, they both think they’re forwards. The lines are made with a dartboard, and either no one playmakes or everyone does. They’re not teams, they’re a bunch of guys wearing the same shirt. And the team that has the most goal scorers (because defense? What’s that? No one picks defensive defensemen for their rosters) and the least tired goalie wins. Hockey is my least favorite Olympic sport. I only watch it if there’s no other sports on to watch. I watched Worlds this year because you were so excited about it, but I don’t usually watch them either. I like teams that feel like teams, and international teams almost never do.
