[ad_1] Getty Images The New York Jets are once again making changes to their quarterback room. According to CBS Sports HQ senior NFL insider Josina Anderson, the Jets are set to release Tim Boyle and sign Brett Rypien off the Seattle Seahawks practice squad. Boyle was elevated to the starting lineup for the Jets' two most recent games, replacing the deposed Zach Wilson. Against the Dolphins and Falcons, Boyle went 41 of 63 for 327 yards, one touchdown and three interceptions. He also took eight sacks and fumbled twice. In the latter of those two games, Boyle was pulled in favor of Trevor Siemian, who was serving as the backup ahead of Wilson. On Monday, reports surfaced that the Jets planned to go back to Wilson under center. Now, they are officially moving on from Boyle as well. Rypien has been around the block, bouncing back and forth between the practice squad and the active roster for the Broncos, Rams and Seahawks over the past few seasons. He's made four career starts and completed just 58.3% of his passes at an average of 5.7 yards per attempt, with four touchdowns against nine interceptions. He is, kindly, not the answer.New York's quarterback room has been an epic disaster this season, with Aaron Rodgers tearing his Achilles on just the fourth play of the season opener and then dragging out a potential comeback bid that everyone except for the Jets has acknowledged is not going to happen. Wilson was bad enough in his 10 appearances that he was benched in favor of a player who had thrown just 106 career passes and had eight of them intercepted, and had not shown even during his collegiate career that he was an NFL-caliber quarterback. Meanwhile, players like Joshua Dobbs, Gardner Minshew, Tommy DeVito, Joe Flacco and more have been at least remotely competent in their backup appearances this season. For the Jets to have another season with an excellent defense undermined by calamitous quarterback play is a tremendous failure. Best Week 10 NFL Bets
As we begin the second half of the NFL season, playoff chases and division races are beginning to take shape. And we now have enough of a sample size to begin seriously evaluating rookie quarterbacks. No. 2 overall pick C.J. Stroud is FOR absolutely real, and this week against Joe Burrow he takes center stage.
Houston Texans at Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5)
The record-holder for most passing yards in a game by a rookie is C.J. Stroud. Last week against the Buccaneers he threw for 470 yards and five touchdowns, in leading the Texans to a last-second win. But that was the Bucs, who are on a four-game losing streak. The Bengals have won four straight, including impressive wins over the 49ers and Bills, and at home they will be too much for Houston. Stroud will continue to grow and impress and lock up the Offensive Rookie of the Year, but the Bengals will win by a touchdown and cover this spread.
Green Bay Packers at Pittsburgh Steelers (-3)
Don’t be fooled by the Packers win over the Rams. That was against backup quarterback Brett Rypien, who was so bad that his job was given to Carson Wentz the next day. The Packers are not a good team. The Steelers might be a good team, but they definitely have a good defense that will force at least one interception out of Jordan Love. T.J. Watt is having a monster year and this Pittsburgh offense does enough to cover the field goal spread.
New York Jets at Las Vegas Raiders (+1)
The Raiders feel liberated now that Josh McDaniels is no longer the head coach, and it showed in last week’s win over the Giants. The only offense in the league even close to being as bad as the Giants belongs to the Jets, and the Raiders defense should have another good game. New York’s defense is elite, but when you have a quarterback like Zach Wilson, that’s not enough. It’s definitely not enough for them to give points. Take the Raiders.
Denver Broncos (+7.5) at Buffalo Bills
The Denver Broncos are on a two-game winning streak, and three games in a row we’ve seen great games out of their defense. They’ve ended the long losing streak against the Chiefs, and once they play this Monday night in Buffalo, the schedule turns favorable. Could Denver go on a run? The Bills have been so up-and-down, that the answer is yes, the Broncos could continue their winning ways this weekend. But even if they don’t win, getting more than a touchdown is too much. Take those points and the Broncos.

A win is a win
The Green Bay Packers beat the Los Angeles Rams 20-3 today and improved to 3-5 for the season, breaking a four game losing streak. It was far from pretty but it was a win. The Packers’ defense pretty much shut down the woeful Rams’ offense who were starting a backup quarterback. When the Packers’ offense looks better than you you know you have problems.
Quarterback Jordan Love finally had running back Aaron Jones for a full game and it showed. Love still missed a couple of throws he should make, but he was efficient and converted a few key third down plays in the fourth quarter that put the game away. Jones carried the load on offense for the Packers and didn’t seem any worse for the wear afterwards. Only his second fumble of the year marred his performance.
The Packers’ defense did exactly what it was supposed to do, shut down a bad offense. It wasn’t hard to do. Brett Rypien is not really an NFL quarterback. He was awful and all the Packers had to do was force him to throw as there was no way he was going to beat them through the air. It would have been a totally different game with Matthew Stafford at the helm.
But no matter what, the Packers got a desperately needed win. With the Steelers, Chargers, Lions and Chiefs coming up, it might be a while until we see another one. So enjoy this one a while.

Ex-Ole Miss star quarterback gives perfect answer for question about Broncos' situation
Ex-Ole Miss star quarterback gives perfect answer for question about Broncos’ situation
Chad Kelly, a former star quarterback at Ole Miss who led the team to a Sugar Bowl victory in 2016, threw his hat into the ring to start for the Denver Broncos after the team’s 51-14 loss to the Los Angeles Rams. Broncos fans were unhappy with the performance of Russell Wilson in the blowout defeat and Brett Rypien’s garbage time play yielded a pick-six for Rams defensive back Cobie Durant in the…

Outlook
This is the last out of conference game of the year for the Broncos. The Broncos average 15 PPG in non-conference play and average giving up 16 PPG in non-conference play. Right now the Broncos are 500 in conference play. This game will determine whether or not they finish the season with a "winning" record against non-conference opponents.
The Los Angeles Rams average 12 PPG in non-conference play while giving up 24 PPG in non-conference games. I can see why Russell Wilson rushed back to play in this game. Merry Christmas Denver.

Well, look at you with the eagle eye! The mods aren’t really sure but we have some guesses… it does seem low to be a ring. And it doesn’t seem to be in the other photo that was posted (3rd image below). One of our mods says it’s in the same area that she gets the worse callous/blister from working out. Take a look for yourself then vote on our poll!
Edit: deleted the poll because we got feedback from an anonymous that the pic in question is old and of last year’s back up. See this post:

[ad_1] Quarterback Carson Wentz is back in the NFL for the first time since being released by the Commanders in February and he told reporters at a Wednesday press conference that it was "really hard" being at home as the 2023 season unfolded.Wentz said he would speak to his agent every week to find out if anything was happening, but the answer was always no until last week. That's when the Rams called to sign Wentz to replace Brett Rypien as Matthew Stafford's backup. That's not where Wentz's career appeared to be headed after his first couple of seasons with the Eagles, but Wentz said "the NFL has a way of humbling everybody" and the last few years knocked Wentz down several pegs. He said he knows he wasn't good enough with Washington last season to guarantee a future in the league and that's left him thankful of any chance to continue playing football."We all desire to be the guy playing, don’t get me wrong," Wentz said, via the team's website. "I think everyone would be lying to you if they said differently, but we all also know it's hard business, it's hard a league, and just to be on a team, to be around the guys, is a blessing regardless. So I'm thankful for that opportunity, and I'll help in whatever way I can and I'm going to be ready. I don't have to worry about next year, I don't worry about the following years, I can just be where my feet are and have as much fun as I can and help as much as I can."Stafford is set to play this week after missing Week Nine with a thumb injury, but he ended last season on injured reserve and that recent injury history suggests Wentz could get a chance to do more than observe before the year is out. If that's the case, he will have a chance to set himself up for another opportunity to remain in the league in 2024. [ad_2] Source link
