Brennan WTF man! That’s solves so many problems in dnd mythology. Why look into dead gods at all? How do you keep high level characters afraid of dying in game? How do you stop high level characters from just raising dead people to solve mysteries?

Edit: of course confirmed minutes later, but did not see the character choice coming. That's my favorite kind of reveal, where you see it coming but the author still makes it surprising.

Welcome to a side story of the HangMox high school AU (The Fragile Invincibility of Youth!) It's almost two years old, but I actually kind of understand DnD now, so the scenes make sense!

“Nope,” says Adam, shaking his head. “Absolutely not.”

“What?” Mox asks, and it’s so cutesy and innocent Adam could almost believe he doesn’t know what he’s doing. “I talk all the time. Gift of Gab is just, like, a funny joke. About me.”

“I knew I made the wrong decision letting you be a wizard,” Adam mutters. He adjusts his baseball cap. “No.”

“Please?” Mox goes all big and pretty eyed.

“Stop that!”

“If you two won’t stop flirting, I’m taking over as DM,” John says sternly. “Eddie, make them stop.”

Eddie snorts, looking very cozy slunk down in his chair. Adam’s pretty sure that’s his flannel shirt, but he’s learned that he doesn’t need to ask for his clothes back. “You think I have any control over these two?”

“You’re the barbarian,” John grumbles. “You should have some sort of pull.”

“Yeah,” Eddie says. “Pulling on deez –”

“Okay, everybody shut up,” Adam says. “Mox, you can use Gift of Gab once per session, and after doing so all constitution saving throws are at a disadvantage.”

“Why?” Mox, John, and Alex all ask at the same time.

“Because,” Adam says, “otherwise I will kill you on purpose.”

“You can’t kill a PC out of spite,” Mox says.

“Yes,” Adam says. “Yes, I can.”

So in this last episode we had confirmed:

1. Indri, who 2/3rds of the party is infatuated with, is Big BAD Lady in a very real way and can call down the memories of stars, including the ones shining into her library

2. If you “flee” (and i just feel that the definition of that might be a little squishy in this specific scenario) *within a mile* of Grimore, you are as good as dead

I nust saw @ifawnleaf 's post on Oisìn and Ivy bringing their own buckets, and that picture is hilarious!

BUT! It made me realise they probably just used pingpong blass there, and then spelled them DURING the lofi study nights!

Brennan specifically ASKED who exactly was invited, and Fabian said EVERYONE! Even the fucking freshmen!

Which means Oisìn could've easily just showed up there, pretend to work and crush on Adaine from a distance and secretly use that telekinetic scribe spell to put the spells in the pingpong balls!

the Porter reveal being a shock to the intrepid heroes (and vindication for Emily) was so good to watch but having us as a fandom that has discussed at length the evil! Porter theory/prediction during the long gap between seasons so many times in that state of shock too…..
